“B-b-bleeding problems?” Sunako stammered. “What constitutes a bleeding problem?”

“Do you bruise easily? The doctor asked? If you do, we may have to change our plan of action. I'm planning on giving you something that can make you bleed profusely, if we aren't careful. Have you heard of coumadin or heparin?

“I can't say that I have, but do nosebleeds count? I get those occasionally.”

“Well, as a rule, we wouldn't want to put you on a medication like this then. But a blood clot is a very dangerous thing. Are the nosebleeds due to trauma or spontaneous?”

“Spontaneous” She then added, “I happens when I look at my roommates, especially Kyohei -kun. I was going to check to see if that was resolved before I came done here, but my test was interrupted.” She looked at Officer Fuuma with a raised eyebrow.

The doctor looked puzzled, and Officer Fuuma laughed.

“She was in the processing of kissing Takano-san's cheek when I walked in. Was that the test, Nakahara-san? The officer said,smirking.

“Yes, that was the test.” She said, blushing. Whenever I have overstimulating thoughts, with a fear or rejection, I tend to have nosebleeds. They have come down to a light trickle, though I suspect I'm ok now.”

“Do you feel like it would dangerous to share a room with Takano-san? Because I'll allow it if you think you can do it.” The doctor asked. “The officer had a valid point that security -wise it would be best for you to share a room. The staff on the Orthopedic ward see people with this medication all the time, so it's not a huge deal. I understand your roomates are also staying around as well? So if you develop any problems, they can get help quickly. There will also be security keeping an eye on you., with the situation as it is. Now, that we are allowing co-ed staff, and co-ed rooming here, I'm sure someone will try to sneak in saying they're staff. “

“Doctor, I'm willing to give it a try. I haven't left the hospital since I first arrived, and have been by Kyohei-kun's side the whole time. I haven't had much of a nosebleed, since I got here. I assure you if he sees a problem, he'll call for help. My roommates are pretty good at getting nurses' attention too, especially female ones.”

“I'll write the orders then. More or less stay off your leg until the swelling has gone down and the clots clears. The medication will cause bleeding and bruising in some, so PLEASE keep an eye out on that.”

Officer Fuuma spoke up. “I can wheel her upstairs if you'd like. I think some of the troublemakers are back in the lobby and I think if I take her, they'll be less trouble.”

“Thank you.” Both the doctor and Sunako replied.

Meanwhile, in Kyohei's room the others had returned. They were pressing to find out what Sunako had to be alone for.

Ranmaru was the absolute worst. “Come on...what did she tell you? I'll bet she confessed that she's madly in love with you , then poured out all her emotions and cried on your shoulder, right? Did she do anything else? Did she give you a rub down or anything like that? Did we find out how injured 'Little Kyohei' is?”

“For crying out loud! Will you guys ever stop? Sunako just had some questions about the people who attacked me. She didn't want me to be embarrassed in front of you. Believe it or not I don't like being in this condition, it's not me. She was just trying to be considerate. Maybe you guys should try it. Sunako isn't exactly one of your little kittens, Ranmaru-kun. She's not a sex object, and I refuse to treat her as such.”

Takanaga added, “I thought that was what it was, don't mind Ranmaru-kun. He hasn't been able to do his usual 'rounds' lately. Because of that, he's thinking with his other head. I'm sure Sunako will be O.K. I heard about it in the cafeteria, she really stood up for you. We may never make her a lady,but she sure is loyal to you. I'm certain she'd stand up for any of us though. Not as quickly as she would for you , but she would. Are you sure there's nothing between you two?”

Kyohei made a face. “Nope, we just respect and understand each other. We are both survivors, and we don't like injustice. That's about it.” Whew! He thought, this is gonna be tough to hide from everyone!

“It's great to see a caring side of Sunako-chan though.” Yuki added. “She's always kinda grumpy, unless it has something to do with her horror stuff. I know she has it in her. Remember when my little twin brother and sister came to visit? She took such good care of them. This actually may be a blessing in disguise, to bring out something a bit more feminine out of her.”

“Geez!” Kyohei roared, rolling his eyes, “She spends some time watching out for me and you make her sound like Florence Nightingale. Don't hold your breath on that happening anytime soon.”

Their discussion was cut short by the nurse knocking on the door. “Excuse me gentlemen, I need you to clear out for a bit. I need to prepare the other bed for your roommate.”

“WHAT?!?!” They all shouted. Takenaga took the lead. “ Ma'am, there must be some mistake. This is Takano-san, from the riot the other day. We had understood that for security reasons, and because of the visitor situation, he wasn't sharing.”

“He is now.” The nurse chuckled. “Don't worry, you know the patient. It was approved by everyone, though highly irregular. They should be arriving with the patient soon.” With that, she left with a giggle.

“What do you think that means?” Takenaga asked the group.

Ranmaru added, “Well, she did have quite a blush on her cheeks and was quite giddy. I'm sure I could get it out of her.” He left.

“Whoa, wait.” Kyohei blanched. “Sunako...She went to the ER to get checked out. Do you suppose?”

“Nah, she's tough.” Yuki stated. “It can't be her. She was up and using the crutches for a twisted ankle. She wouldn't be admitted for that, would she?”

The nurse returned and bustled about for her next patient. She kicked the other two out and sat down by Kyohei.

“Takano-san, about your new roomate.”

“Is is Nakahara Sunko?” He asked, with an ashen face.

“It is. It seems that though she had a twisted ankle, she has a blood clot in her leg. She needs to be on bed rest for a couple of days, as well be on blood thinners. You know her well enough to know. There is something about spontaneous nosebleeds that concerns the staff. How bad are they? If she has a problem with it, can you contact the staff quickly? She can bleed to death, worst cast scenario, if we don't watch it.”

“I'll keep an eye on it for you. I think that problem may be solved, but I'll let you know.”

“You know, it's very rare to have unmarried co-ed room sharing. She must be something else to force this issue. I understand security is one of the reasons we're doing this as well, but she's one lucky girl to live with all of you.”

“Ma'am, if she was lucky, this would not have happened. It's because she lives with us she was hurt.”

There was a knock at the door and the nurse and Kyohei turned. Officer Fuuma had returned with Sunako, and the guys were following along.

The nurse went into gear, “Ok. Nakahara-san, I'm going to guide you into the bed.” She transferred her in. “I have to put on this super attractive stocking on your leg. Guys, look away for a bit.” After a few minutes, she told them they could look again. (Ranmaru peeked a little though, but didn't see anything.) “Does anyone have questions for me? I've gone over what I needed to with Takano-san. I'm sure he will, as well as Nakahara-san will fill you in on what's going on.” Ok, here's the call light if you need it. Gentlemen, I expect you will treat Nakahara-san with the utmost dignity. If you fail to do so, she will have to be moved. My biggest concern is bathroom time. Give her privacy. I'm sure she has it at home, right? Call me if you need to go. I don't trust your friends here, especially this one.” She said, pointing at Ranmaru.

With that she left. The guys were simply amazed. “Wow” Ranmaru began.

“Shut up!” Sunako shouted. “I'm only on bed rest and a blood thinner, I'm not dying here. I will not put up with your crap. If I have to, I will tell the nurse you're being lewd and I will have you removed. Is that clear? It was decided it was best we all share because of the security and the common visitors. No hanky-panky involved at all. If it's ok with you, I know I have had a long day. I know Kyohei-kun has had a long day. So have you. Go ahead and go home for the night. Have a good meal done by your new maids. Get a good night's sleep and we'll see you in the morning. O. K?”

“Whoa” Yuki pouted, “You sure are grouchy! I think I'll go home just because of that.”

Kyohei added, “She's right you know. I'm exhausted. I'm sure she's a wreck and needs sleep as well. Nothing mean is meant by it, I'm sure.”

Sunako shook her head. “I'm just really tired, honest.”

With that, the guys took their leave, to go home. Ranmaru could not resist though. “Nighty, night lovebirds.” Sunako threw a pillow at him as he left.
