Trigun Fan Fiction ❯ Angel In Hideing ❯ No point in living ( Chapter 2 )
"I want you to show this man what you truly are!" With that statement his fingers stretched apart and an ere glow surrounded Meryl, her head tilted toward the sky as she let out an ear piercing scream. Black wings grew from her back and her body fell toward the floor, unconscious but barley alive.
"Meryl!" Vash screamed. He thought Legato had killed her. "Y-you B-basterd!"
Vash's gun fired. Legatos body fell to the floor, a bullet wound in his head.
"Meryl," Vash cried in a slight whisper. He slowly walked to her dead corpse and cradled her in his arms.
He no longer cared what happened. He didn't care that he betrayed Rem. He didn't even care that he had killed. The only thing he cared about lay in his arms. He touched the black wings that had grown from her back. His eyes widened then narrowed sadly when he realized what it meant. What she was. He could have been with her the whole time but he knew she would die hundreds of years before him. He was wrong. He could have been with her to the end of time. But he had lost that chance. He lost it the moment he first refused to kill legato. It was over. All over.
Vash laid Meryl down carefully and picked up his gun. Silent tears rain down his checks. He slowly raised his gun to his head. " There is nothing else to live for. I don't want to live without her." Vash was moving to pull the trigger when he was stopped.
"There is always something to live for." A small whisper came from behind him. Meryl was laying on the ground covered in blood eyes opend, and the wings on her back slowly re-ceiling them-selves.
