Twilight Fan Fiction ❯ Faith Says ❯ 6: Depression and Worrying Mixed is Dangerous ( Chapter 6 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]
"I am. . . a girl." I giggle.

He chuckles, "That, I did not know. Seriously though, what are you?" He asks slowly and quietly.

I sigh, knowing it must be a "need-to-know" thing for him. I listen closely for a sign that Annabel might be listening, and I
learn that she is in her room. So I say, "I don't trust you enough to tell you everything, so I'll just tell you this; I am a
Fangel. As time passes, you will slowly begin to realize what that is. Examine my movements and actions close enough,
and you will understand faster than you think."

He grins in confusion, tilting his head. "Alright. . . A Fangel. I have never heard about them. I will let you guess what I am
then, since it really is not as hard as guessing what a Fangel is."

I stare intently, and I slowly study his features. Pale complexity, eyes change colors between topaz, butterscotch, and
black, and he does not eat human food. I ponder on this a second and suddenly think of Vampire.

"You are a vampire." I state matter-of-factly.

He grins and stands, "I must go. I will see you tomorrow, Faith." He says. I wave him out, and then I go upstairs and
enter my room, closing the door behind me.

I lay back on my bed and check the clock. 8:00pm. Wonderful. After a while of just thinking, I drift off into a nightmarish
sleep.

--------------------------------------- Faith's Dream -----------------------------------------

A girl stalks through the darkness quietly. Her hand reaches out, she turns the doorknob to a door of the house.

She steps through, and there in front of her, is a little girl, five years old, asleep peacefully and comfortably on her bed.

Outside her room, there is barely any moon, but what moon there is is above the palm trees high in the sky. The
temperature is nice and mild, not too hot but not too cold.

The girl walks forward a little more, and the little five year old stirs, turning in her bed to face the girl standing in the
middle of her room.

"Faith, is that you?" She asks groggily.

The girl in the room looks at her, "Uh, yeah. It's me, Rita, Faith."

Rita looks at her and yawns, "But, you. . ." She trails off and ends up sleeping again.

As the girl walks forward some more, a sudden beeping noise erupts in the room. She looks around in a panic. Images start to fade. . .

---------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------

I wake up and turn my alarm clock off. Who was that in my dream? Me? No. . . maybe. This is going to bother me now.
I look down at myself and realize I am still in yesterday's change of clothes. So I get up, do my normal bathroom routine,
and I come out in some comfortable clothes.

I wore black, mid-calf stiletto boots, a black shirt with the mid-arm sleeves cut, only hanging onto the lengthy part by
two lace strings and a black star on the front with a hot pink and black print mini skirt. She had on two studded black
belts and three chains hanging down from them linking to the sides of the belts.

A quick double check in the mirror says I am ready to go. I walk downstairs with my things and meet Annabel at the
door. That dream has me shaken up, so I just let her drive.

I space out, thinking about a few different random things. "Faith. Faith! We're at school!" I hear Annabel yelling to get
my attention.

I awake from my daydream, grab my bag, and walk with her inside the building to the cafeteria. We get some glances,
knowing how we never did get along and all, but we ignore them. I can see my friends beckoning me to sit with them,
but I shake my head, point at Anna, and then turn to face her. We sit down at a random, nearly empty table.

"Faith, what are you thinking about so much?" She asks me.

"Anna, will you now tell me where Chris is?" I ask, not sure whether I want to know or not. Too late now.

"Well, he blames you for Mom's death, even though Dad did it. So, he left." She says sadly.

I broke them up? I frown. "Why didn't you go with him?"

"Because, even though I do not trust you completely yet, I know you did not do it. Not the first time either. You and Rita
were tight, inseparable, so I don't see a reason why you would kill her."

I nod slowly, processing this in my head. She is trusting me? Hmmm. . .

I pick up my bag and walk with Anna to building five as the bell rings. It turns out we are in the same building, just
different classes. "Don't worry so much Faith. Things will all work out."

I smile my smile, nod, and enter my classroom. Angela smiles up at me and waves, and I return them both, sad or not.

"Hello Faith!" She greets ecstaticly as I sit down next to her.

"Hi Angela, how are you?" I try to play it like I am ok.

"I'm fine. Is something wrong?" She asks, not out of nosiness, but out of worry and curiosity.

I hesitantly nod my head. Trust her. Don't trust her. Gah, this is stupid. She does not know my secret though, so I cannot
tell her. I frown and then shake my head. "Nothing is wrong. Just a lot on my mind."

She nods, not pressing it further, and we face the teacher as she comes in and begins today's lesson.

U.S. History, Literature, Drama, French, and Algebra II fly in a blur. My friends notice something is wrong, but they do
not ask. Angela asked them to just let me deal with it. Soon though, it is lunch time.

I meet Anna at the cafeteria door, part with my friends, and walk in silence to get Anna some food. My appetite is not
very high at the moment. So, I will just be here.

To my surprise, Annabel sits down at an empty table. We sit across from each other.

"Faith, are you still bothered by that Chris thing?" She asks skeptically.

I shake my head, "But Anna, why did you choose my over him anyway? I thought you loved him and hated me." So
confusing.

"I did love him, and I still do, unfortunately. But, I mean, it is hard to explain really. I guess, we can call this maturing and
opening my eyes."

I nod, sort of understanding. "So, about Rita, I had a strange dream last night." I whisper.

Anna glances around, her face stern, and leans in for us to whisper after pushing her tray of untouched food aside. "It
really was not you that killed her, huh?" Anna asks, a mix of emotions on her face.

I shake my head and make sure no one is coming or listening, "In my dream, it was very dark, but there was a person. I
could not really see him or her due to the darkness, but they were sneaking around the house quietly and entering Rita's
room. The small moon was not even a half moon, above the palm trees, like the ones outside her room in Hawaii. They
had a female voice, but when they spoke it was deep and raspy like a guy's."

"They spoke?" Anna asks.

I nod, "Rita stirred and woke up, and then she said "Faith?" groggily. The person said "Uh, yeah, It's me, Rita, Faith."
Rita started to protest I think, but she fell back asleep. And then my alarm clock went off and I woke up."

"Hmmm." Anna leans back in her chair and puts on her best thinking face.

"Biology is boring, so I plan to finish the dream in there. I know it all already anyway." I add before she can protest or
anything.

She nods and grabs her things, "Let's go ahead and get going. Maybe you can get a head start before someone bothers
you." She glances at Edward, and I laugh. "He is looking at you."

I stare, and then I turn to look where her eyes were, and surely enough, Edward is staring at me. Not smiling, or
frowning. Almost like he heard everything. Shit. Vampires can hear from far away.

Smart going, Faith! I mentally beat myself up before grabbing my bag and walking out the cafeteria with Anna. I can feel
Edward's eyes penetrating my back as I walk away, but Edward will have to wait.

We enter the Biology room, quite early in fact, and we sit at her table. The teacher must be out of the room or
something.

"Get to it, Faith. And please hurry."

I nod and think about that dream. I will it all to come back to me.

--------------------------------------- Faith's Dream ----------------------------------------

Rita has just fallen back into her deep slumber. The person begins to walk forward, clutching something tightly in their
hand. Stab, stab, stab. That is all Faith sees.

------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------

Faith almost looses connection, but she forces herself to keep watching.

-------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------

Rita is screaming. Loudly. Mom and Dad run into the room, only to be shocked and scared at what they see. Who did
that? I bet they are wondering.

Anna, Chris, and Faith are following their footsteps, arriving soon after. This is when everyone blames me. I skip this
scene and continue willing myself for more information.

I continue to try, but no matter what, I cannot seem to get a clear image of this person's face.

------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------

"Sorry, Anna, I cannot seem to put a face with it. Just the story, in an odd way." I say and frown at her. By now, the
class is filling, the late bell has not rang yet, but surely it will soon.

"It is fine, Faith. Go to your seat before you get into trouble. We'll figure out something to do later." Anna gives me a
hug, and I just sit there, shocked, and stare at her.

When she releases me, I just leave and sit in my seat beside Edward.

"Good evening, Faith." He smiles. He looks troubled though.

I smile. A real one, I think? "Hi, Edward." I greet.

His face is stunning. I would love to-- woah, what am I thinking? I chuckle at my own thoughts and listen as the teacher
gives us his lesson for today.

I glance at Edward, and he is staring at me. Like his eyes are trying to read me. He must be trying to learn what a Fangel
is.

I blush slightly, "What? Is there something on my face?" I ask sheepishly and then realize it is a stupid question.

He chuckles and shakes his head, "You seem rather different today." He says.

I shrug, not knowing what to say.

"Ms. Fey, do you know the answer to the question?" The teacher asks me.

I stare at him, reading his mind, and answer, "That is easy. The answer is 6 neutrons."

"And how did you get that?" He asks.

"Easy. You subtract the rounded Mass Number and the Atomic Number to get the amount of neutrons."

He glares at me and then continues talking.

I glance at Anna and see she is staring at me. She is grinning, too. She points quickly and mouths something about
Edward and me, I believe.

I smirk and shrug. Then I turn back and look at the teacher.

"You truly amaze me, Faith Fey." Edward whispers to me. I turn to him and grin a goofy one.

I don't know what has brightened my spirits, but I am actually happy. Maybe even getting to be trusting. I do not know
about you, but I believe that is a good thing. Who knows? Soon enough, possible, I will be able to tell Edward
everything.

The bell rings, and instead of rushing out, Edward waits for me. So does Anna. As we walk the halls, we separate into
our own classrooms one by one until finally, I am left to be in Gym. Crappy class. Last of the day though. Thankfully.

I meet up with the two again at my locker, and as I shove some of my things in, my vision blurs for a bit. I drop my
books and go to get them, but a pale hand has already picked them up and is holding them out for me. I thank him
almost inaudibly and put them in my locker. I close the door of it and turn to my friends.

My sight blurs again, and this time, I get dizzy by it.

Anna looks at me panicky, "Are you okay? Faith!" I look down at the floor and suddenly pass out. Maybe more of this
dream is coming back to me.

I wait for impact with the floor, but when it came, I never know. I was out before I could find out.
