Chapter Nine

I get off Kira and walk him down the streets towards the castle. I first went to the stable.

"Who goes there?"

"My name is Hitomi Kanzaki. I have come here to speak to the king, would I be able to leave my horse Kira here in the meantime."

"Well I guess I could, only the king's horses are allowed here but I shall make an exception just don't tell anyone."

"Thank you."

I left Kira with the stable boy and went into the palace.

I was so nervous I didn't know what to expect. I haven't seen Van in five years he must have changed a bit since then. I walk down the hallways looking for someone to guide me in the right direction.

"I haven't seen you here before, may I help you?"

"My name is Hitomi Kanzaki, and I have come here to see the King."

"I believe that Lord Van is in his quarters it is down the hall and to the left and it's the second door to the left." The servant pointed Hitomi to where Van's room was.

"Thank you so much."

"You're welcome Miss. Hitomi."

I went down the hall and ended up at the door the servant told her was Van's quarters. I must have stared at that door for ten minuets. I was so nervous. I turned the doorknob and opened the door just a little bit, but enough to see something I hadn't prepared to see.

I saw Van but he wasn't alone there was a woman there with him, she wore a pink frilly top and beige pants. Van was standing there shirtless and it seemed the two were talking. Suddenly van takes her in his arms and kisses her passionately. He rips of her top and throws it on the ground, still kissing her. He lays her on the bed and now he's on top of her. I see my pendent hanging around Van's neck. Her long brown hair was spread over the bed; she grabbed onto his back and pulled him towards her.

"Gasp" was the only sound I could make, it was very quiet but she was able to here me. She looked towards me. The door opened a bit more. The woman on the bed quickly covered herself with the sheets. Van noticed the women's distress and looked where she was looking.

"Hitomi…"

I started backing out of the room.

"I…I hate you" I whispered. "I HATE YOU VAN!!"

"Hitomi!"

I ran down the hallway, crying I could barely see where I was going. I ran straight into an old friend. We both fall on the ground.

"Hey watch where you're going."

"Merle…nice to see again."

"Hitomi I'm so glad your back."

I look over my shoulder and a fully clothed Van is running down the hall towards me. He is about 40 feet away when I tried to get away.

"Hitomi!"

"Van get away from me. I hate you." I ran as fast as I could to the stables.

Van continues to chase me. I get into the stable and quickly get Kira and hop on him and take off, through the City as fast as I can. Van gets on a horse but he can't keep up with Kira's speed. I disappear into the forest.
