Chapter Ten

Van heads back to his palace when he is met by Merle.

"What happened why is Hitomi so upset Lord Van?"

"She saw Salina and I kissing. She was right at the door and saw everything."

"Oh no, she must be really upset, and she ran off into the forest alone, she's been gone so long I hope she hasn't forgotten the extreme dangers that lye in the forest. Are you going to go after her?"

"Yes, but she could go anywhere so I will fly Escaflowne I don't know where she could go. I didn't even know if she was ever going to come back, and one day she shows up out of the blue. I still love her Merle I have to go after her."

I was still riding in the forest and didn't know where I was going. As soon as I stopped crying and realized van didn't come after me I told Kira to take me back to Folken's palace. So we rode off into the direction of his kingdom.

"I haven't used Escaflowne since the day Hitomi left. I hope I can find her."

"I hope so too Lord Van. I know how much you love her."

Van just looked at his cat woman friend and smiled.

"What I don't get is how she came back here. Did someone bring her back or did she find her way here herself."

"I don't know."

Van got in the Escaflowne and took it out into the city. Van walked it down the street towards the gate. The people of Fanelia gathered around the street, puzzled why their king has awoken Escaflowne after such a long time. Are the people of Fanelia in danger?

"Hitomi please be alright."

Van reached the edge of the city and transformed Escaflowne into a dragon and took off in search of Hitomi.

It was getting really dark out and I slowed down Kira.

About 10 min later I herd rustling in the bush and Kira stops.

"What is it boy?" I heard footsteps and I start to get frightened.

"Well, well, well boys what do we have here?" Seven men came out of the bushes.

"It looks like a wench. Let's tie her up and take her back to the hideout."

"I agree. We could use a bitch like her to keep us amused."

"Tie her up, kill the horse we have we will have a feast tonight."

One of the seven men drew out their sword and tried to slash Kira across the ribs. Kira rose up on his hind legs causing the man to fall over. I fell off Kira onto the ground.

"Kira! Go back to the palace, Find Lord Folken!!!"

Kira took off dodging then men's attacks.

"The horse is getting away."

"Let the horse go we have something much better."

"Stay away from me or else..."

"Or else what, you are all alone?"

The men started coming towards me. I screamed, I screamed so loud. To my luck there was someone not to far away who herd my scream and came rushing.

"Scream all you want wench there is nobody out here who can hear you."

Everything was quiet, they were about to knock me out when they herd a horse coming. It came closer and closer and then it jumped over the bushes and landed on the other side of the small clearing we were in.

There was a man on the horse but he was in the shadows hidden from the moonlight.

"Hold it right there. You will not harm her."

"And who are you to stop us there are seven of us and only one of you."

"I am Allen Schezar a Knight from Asturia."

"Allen." I whispered.

"Ah the Famous Allen Schezar, prepare to meet your match."

After about 15 minuets on fighting Allen chased them away. I was still on the ground.

"Are you okay miss?" Allen was walking towards me.

I get up and run to him and put my arms around him. "Oh Allen I was so scared."

"Hitomi? Is that you?"

I look up at the handsome knight. "Oh Allen, I missed you."

"What are you doing out here all alone?"

"It's a long story. I wasn't completely alone I had Kira with me."

"Who's Kira?"

"He's my horse."

"You have a horse?"

"Yes it was a gift from a friend, when I got to Gaea almost 2 days ago."

"Van?"

"No, I just came from there and I never want to go back. An old friend brought me to Gaea and he gave me Kira. I sent Kira back to get help when I was attacked."

"Who brought you here, how did they do it."

I started to feel very warm and weak. I collapsed into Allen's arms.

"Hitomi!"

Allen felt my forehead. "She's burning up, she has a fever."

Allen put me in front of him and held me on his horse, and we rode off into the night to Asturia.
