Chapter Thirteen

Van didn't have a good sleep all he could think about was look on his beloved Hitomi's face. The look of extreme hurt and betrayal. The scene played over and over again in his dreams.

He woke up. "She hates me." Van put his face in his hands.

The sun was just rising when he got Escaflowne ready. He got in, and transformed it into a dragon and flew off to Asturia.

About thirty minuets later Van arrives Asturia. He puts Escaflowne with the other Guymelefs and walks into the castle to talk to Allen about Hitomi's whereabouts.

Van finds Allen and Melerna at the dining table.

"Van, what are you doing here?"

"Hitomi came to see me yesterday, but she ran away and I've been looking for her."

"Hitomi is resting peacefully. I found her in the forest, she had a fever. Follow me."

Allen led Van down the hall into the room Hitomi was sleeping in.

"I don't know what happened between you two yesterday but I think you should talk to her."

"I don't know, she told me…she told me she hates me."

"She seemed really upset about something but I highly suggest you talk to her to straighten things out."

"Alright." Van quietly opens the door and walks in. he walks up to my bed, I'm still sleeping. He sits on the side of my bed and runs his hand through my hair and down my face. Déjà vu with three different yet very sexy men.

"I'm so sorry Hitomi I didn't know, after five years I lost hope that you would come back." I wasn't sleeping I just had my eyes closed. I heard everything.

"Oh Van." I sprang up and wrapped my arms around him and hugged him.

"Hitomi." Van wrapped his arms around me. "Please forgive me."

"I love you Van." I was so happy to be in his arms, he still wanted me after all these years.

"I love you too…Hitomi." What the two lovers didn't know was that the doors had ears.

On the other side were Melerna and Allen.

"I'm so glad those two are back together. I don't know what caused Hitomi to be so angry with him but at least those two have resolved whatever it was."

"I agree my dearest Melerna; let's go before they find us eavesdropping."

Allen and Melerna left the two lovers alone in the room.

"Hitomi I missed you so much. You changed over the years. You have become such a beautiful woman."

"Thank you." I started to blush. "You have become so much more handsome…" I never got to finish what I was going to say. The next thing I knew I was in a deep passionate kiss…with van. I was shocked but didn't pull away. I had been waiting for this kiss for over five years now.

After the kiss Van was the first to speak. "Hitomi…"

"Yes Van."

Van pulls something out of his pocket, but didn't show it to me. "I was saving this for the day that you would return to Gaea," Van holds the object in his hand. I looked at it…it was a ring. It was a white gold ring with a sapphire in the middle encircled with six small diamonds. It was so beautiful. "This was my mothers; she gave it to me before she died. She told me to give it to the `the one' special woman in my life that I couldn't imagine living without for the rest of my life. I have found that woman. Hitomi…" Van knelt before Hitomi, "will you marry me and become my queen, and together we shall rule Fanelia together?"

"Oh Van…YES! I would love to Rule beside you as your queen."

Van slipped the ring on my left ring finger and we kissed and hugged.

"Van it's so beautiful." I couldn't stop looking at the ring.

"Not as beautiful as you right now."
