Chapter Twenty-Seven

We were ready to leave, the bags were in the sleigh, and Kira and Kato were hooked up at the front. Folken helped me into the sleigh and then Folken got in. He took the reins and we left our kingdom for Asturia.

Around noon we stopped in a small town to eat. Then we continued on out journey.

We reached Asturia late afternoon. Folken dropped me off at the front of the palace while he put Kato and Kira in the stables, along with the sleigh.

I walked into the palace and found Allen right away in the hallway.

"Allen."

Allen turned around to face me. "Hitomi, is that you?" I'm not sure what surprised him more the fact that I came to see him after over a year or the fact I was pregnant.

"Oh course it's me; I know I look a bit different now."

"I'd say." Allen came over and hugged me.

Allen took my coat and gave it to a servant to put it away.

"If you don't mind me asking is…"

"I know what you're going to ask me and no, Van isn't the father."

Folken came in just as I spoke, "I am." He walked over me and placed his hand across my waist; bring me closer to his side.

"Folken, you're the father? I heard you married not to long ago."

"Yes I did and lovely Hitomi here is…"

"His queen." I finished smiling up at Folken.

"Wow, congratulations you two."

"Thanks."

"Does Van know?"

"Oh yeah…"I started. "He paid Folken and I a visit yesterday because he just herd his brother settled down. But when he saw Folken and I, and that I was pregnant. He was heartbroken."

"I would imagine. He loved you so much. Please come with me."

Allen took Folken and I to a room where we would be sleeping.

"Dinner will be ready in thirty minuets."

"Thank you Allen."

Folken removed his cloak and put it on the coat hook. Folken was looking for something but he couldn't find it.

"Please excuse me Hitomi I forgot something in the sleigh."

"Alright. It's cold outside take this." I tossed Folken back his cloak.

"Thank you Hitomi."

Folken put on his cloak and walked out of the room and went down the hall when he was stopped.

"Hold it right there Folken."

Folken stopped dead in his tracks and turned on his heels.

"Yes Melerna."

"King Folken Fanel what are you doing here?"

"I had come here with Hitomi."

"Hitomi?"

"Yes. I guess Allen hasn't had a chance to tell you."

"Tell me what?"

"That Hitomi is my wife, my queen, and the mother of my unborn child."

"What? Surly you jest."

"I see you don't Believe me that go see her yourself she is in that room," Folken points down the hall to a door. "Why else would I come here? I don't usually do business with Asturia. If you will excuse me there is something I must get from my sleigh."

Melerna was already walking off towards where Folken was pointing to and went in.

Melerna walked into the room to find me sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Hitomi…"

"Melerna it's so good to see you." I get up from the bed.

"I see Folken was telling the truth."

"You met him in the hall."

"Yes. So Hitomi are you really married to him and is the child you're carrying his, come on spill."

"Melerna. Well yes it is true. Your probably asking why…why Folken. Folken isn't the rotten guy he was made out to be so many years ago. His intentions were good just he went about it the wrong way. So he made some mistakes, we all do. Folken was the one who brought me back to Gaea, he was there for me when I needed him and he loves me and no matter what I will always love him and our children."

"Does Van know about you and Folken I could imagine he would be terribly upset?"

"He was, he was heartbroken and I don't blame him. He spends all this time trying to find the woman he loves and when he does she has moved on with another man and about to have a baby, to make it worse the other man is his elder brother. Talk about adding insult to injury."

Folken came back into the room. He had found what he was looking for. He hung his cloak back up.

Folken walked up to me and we kissed, in front of Melerna who was now getting uncomfortable.

"Did you find what you were looking for?"

"Yes I did." Folken held the draconian pendant in his mechanical hand.

"Folken where did you get that?"

"Van gave it to me; he said it belonged to you."

"I gave him that the day I left to go back to the Mystic Moon. My grandmother gave it to me a long time ago, when she came to Gaea."

It was on a new chain it was yellow gold and this chain was a lot easier to hook. Folken put it around my neck.
