Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction / Yami No Matsuei Fan Fiction ❯ Red Shaman ❯ Challenge ( Chapter 11 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

All three teams of assassins had managed to make it to the house in the Chicago suburbs in a matter of hours. Partially because the Red Shaman team had gone to get them. It was still a bit odd to the members of Weiss and Schwarz to have their molecules disassembled then reassembled in a different place. But they adjusted to it fairly quickly.

Ghost had gone to get Omi and Nagi herself. Though she was still alive, she had learned all the tricks of the trade from the Red Shaman team and had enough natural power to pull all of them through safely. They all reappeared in the kitchen and Ghost was instantly glad she hadn't aimed for the living room. From what she could hear, it really didn't take much considering she was certain half the neighborhood could hear, Sunny and Skye were having a “discussion”.

“And what little slut's bed did you manage to drag yourself out of to grace us with your presence at this early hour, Sunny?”

“I don't think it's any of your damn business who I spend my nights or days with,” was Sunny's comment back to her.

Ghost, Omi and Nagi peeked around the kitchen door and could just see the combatants squaring off for a major blow up in the living room.

“Are they always like this?” Omi asked, his eyes wide.

“Usually it's worse. This has been going on for six months now. Sometimes Skye manages to hold off telling him off for a whole week. But that doesn't happen often,” Ghost said. Quieting any more questions with a wave of her hand.

“It's my business when it effects how this team operates,” Skye said.

“And how does my going out and actually having a life cause the team problems? If that's what you're implying and it's pretty clear that it is.”

“You're dead, you oaf. You couldn't have a life if you tried.”

“Anything has to be better than the pissy ice queen existence excuse for an afterlife you insist upon having.”

“Just because I don't whore myself out to anyone who's remotely willing does not mean I'm an ice queen,” Skye shot back at him.

“I have never had anyone pay me for services rendered. And if you let someone fuck you into the mattress every once in a while you might be in a better mood.”

“Children!” came Blaze's voice from across the room. “In case you haven't noticed, and I'm fairly sure you haven't, we have company. Not to mention we need to get updates on several things and we have plans to be made for this mission. If you can't keep yourselves under control you can both stay here and the rest of us will do this. In other words, grow up.”

Sunny and Skye glared at each other for another moment before turning and walking opposite directions to the far corners of the room.

“Well, now that little bit of fun is finished. Ghost, you and the boys can come in,” Star said.

Sunny and Skye both looked embarrassed that Ghost had heard them arguing. Again. Ghost smiled at both of them then grinned over her shoulder at Omi and Nagi.

It really wasn't that bad this time. The last time they really fought they were throwing things at each other. I think Skye threatened to blow up his porn collection if I remember right.

Both boys had to suppress their laughter as they walked into the room of adults.

“Okay. Since you guys are the ones who found out these things, this is your show,” Blaze said.

Omi and Nagi both steeled themselves and reported on what they had found. Both of them handed around the print outs they had made and pulled up some of the pictures onto the computer screen. Leaving most of the adults in the room gaping at them in mild horror. All except for Schuldig and Ken, who had seen what had been found already. And Farf, who was smirking slightly, but knew better than to make any comments about hurting God by causing children harm. At least not when a certain Goddess had the look on her face that she currently did.

“Well, now the question remains of who goes in and how we orchestrate this,” Star said.

Ghost, who had been silent throughout the reports, now took both Nagi and Omi by the hands and pulled them forward slightly. “We go in,” she said simply.

“No!” Sunny and Skye said together.

“Wait a minute. Let's hear what they have in mind first,” Blaze said, looking shrewdly at Ghost. “Go on.”

“Well, it has to be us. We can get in as some kind of “side entertainment”,” Ghost said, blushing furiously. “The rest of you wouldn't be able to get in completely to find out where the kids are being kept but we can. I mean, I look much younger than fifteen. Nagi is fifteen and Omi is seventeen but they both look younger and could pass.”

“What makes you think anyone would go for the “side entertainment”, Ghost?” Blaze asked.

“Because I've seen proof that people like to watch threesomes by being around you and your husbands, Blaze. People stare at you when you're together and doing the cuddle thing with them. It's almost like they can't look away. You guys have always said that I'm beautiful and I know that Omi and Nagi are because I've seen the way people look at them. It only makes sense that the show would go over well.”

Blaze's smile widened slightly. Ghost had proven to be a keen observer of human nature in the past. She had needed to be with her family in order to stay alive and that inclination hadn't left her.

“We can start initially,” Ghost said. “Then I can pull a glamour to cover us while we search. If it looks like they aren't buying it Sunny or Mastermind can implement the neurological changes needed to make anyone believe we're still there. Berserker can go as a bodyguard of sorts. I'm sure he'd gleefully disembowel the scout leader who seems to always be there.”

Farf smirked at the thought of hanging a scout leader from one of the club rafters by his small intestines. And started humming happily, thinking about just the right knife to use for the job.

“Okay. Put your heads together on how you want to work this and let me know in a couple of days. I want this done as quickly as possible. Skye, you and Oracle see if you can find any flaws in the plans they come up with and work out the kinks. I don't want any mistakes on this.”

“Gotcha,” Ghost said smiling.

“Blaze,” Skye said from the corner of the room.

“What is it?”

Skye came to her carrying the pictures she had been handed. “It looks like all of these children have been branded in some way or marked. Almost like ownership tattoos but they seem to be all the same symbol as far as I can tell,” she said, pointing out the markings to her.

Blaze pulled one of the pictures up on screen and enhanced it several times to get a clearer impression of the markings.

She paused and stared at the picture for a few moments. A chill passed down her spine and seemed to freeze her to the bone.

“Oh, dear gods,” she said quietly.

Everyone looked at her oddly and tried to discern what she had recognized in the small marking of what looked like a crown with a wave going through it.

“Whenever I tell any of you to get out of where ever we happen to be, you will do it immediately without question or argument. Do you all understand me?”

The collective group nodded and Blaze smiled slightly at all of them just before the world went white.
