Chapter 2
Tuesday Fires
Nagi was at the park sitting on the bench, his book bag beside him, and waiting for the sun to rise from its hiding place on the far horizon. It was quite early for anyone to be out at the time, that's why he usually chose this time to think. He would sometimes get up early and leave Schwarz a note telling them where he was and that he was all right so there's no need to worry about him. He had been doing this consecutively for a few days now. Before, Schwarz would still go after him wherever he was but that stopped a while back.
Nagi just continued on staring into space with blank and confused thoughts. Thinking of something yet nothing at all. Most of which are 'Why am I not dead?', 'What am I doing?', 'What's going on?', 'Where am I?' and 'Mom?'.
So absorbed was he in those thoughts that he never heard somebody come up from behind him. It was an elderly lady and her cat that came up to him.
The lady was carrying a paper bag and was watching her little kitten beside her. She then noticed the boy sitting on the bench where she usually sat. The boy had an aura of confusion and guilt hovering above him. Sensing this, the lady approached him.
"Young man, what's the matter? You look troubled." She asked her face akin to something of concern. She took the seat beside him and placed her cat on her lap and began stroking her softly behind the ears, her package of birdseeds beside her.
"Nothing." Nagi answered her, not even turning his head to face the woman as he continued to watch the sun from afar.
"...I don't believe that because if that were true you wouldn't be here, with that look about you." The woman said pushing through with the issue as she watched on the man before him, her cat already playing around the deserted park save for the two humans and a few birds and itself.
"What would you know?" Nagi retorted as he thought, 'I don't feel like being nice to elders right now so go away!'. He had already begun fuming being short-tempered about this particular topic but the woman just smiled.
"Ah, you ask what I know. That's just it I know nothing but that will change once you tell me something and then we'll see if this old hag still knows nothing." She said, the knowing smile still on her face and she began feeding the birds.
Nagi was dumbstruck, he thought the old lady would slap him or at least shout at him for his rude manners. But no, she asked him to ask her what she knew on his problem and they don't even know each other. He shook his head and began to think of his present grief. Hesitantly he said, "Mother, I lost her ... Nanami too and everyone else...".
He thought of continuing but common sense resurfaced and he excused himself. "I'm sorry you don't even know me and I'm just being a burden."
The lady smiled and said, "No need to say sorry."
There was a comforting silence before she continued, "You know, I know you haven't lost everyone. How do I know? Because I'm sure you have-will have- friends. Besides you might find your friend in the person you wouldn't want to be with. Just like now, I am your friend now, am I not, and you hadn't wanted to talk to me." She ended with a chuckle.
Nagi thought on the old woman's words, not really understanding her- confusion written all over his face. 'How can you have friends if you don't even want to be with them? Am I even friends with her? Besides that wasn't my problem at all. I think I should thank her but for what...wait, what did she say her name was...She didn't tell me!' He turned to ask her but the woman had already stood up and left his side, her figure disappearing in the light
"Obaasan! Wait!" Nagi called panting lightly. "I'm sorry, but may I know your name?" he asked as soon as he caught up to her.
"My name isn't important but yours is. Will you give a dying lady her wish and tell me your name?" She asked smiling again at the boy looking as if she didn't care that she had told him she was dying.
"Umm...I'm Nagi. My name is Nagi." Nagi replied uneasily that he had been given such information, already knowing too many deaths and by his hands no less. "Obaasan, why not tell me your name?. Even if I continued to push you away, you still tried to help me out." Nagi said trying to make the old lady give in and tell him.
She just shook her head and said, "As I said I'm dying and old. No need to know my name because, I believe, this will be the last time I see you. But, if I see you again in other conditions I will surely tell you my name, that is, IF I see you again... I must go now; Shi-chan must be worried about me." After a pregnant pause she bid her farewell leaving the alone. "Good-bye, Nagi."
People were already coming outside of their houses and were of to either work or school. Nagi hadn't noticed how much time he had spent on the road and rushed back to the park bench he sat on, got his book bag then headed for school. He had something to think about now, but the concept of friends still confused him too much.
Omi got up early that Tuesday to open up the shop and to be able to get to school on time and unlike before.
Omi sighed audibly, waking up early - no, staying up until now- no one was awake yet. The shop wasn't open yet and he had just finished his bowl of cereals. He picked up the now empty bowl and washed it and then began cleaning the shop's front.
"I really don't know why he's mad...wait, I do. But that's not the point he could have at least been nice about it even if just a little." Omi sighed again for what seemed as the hundredth time since he woke up from that dream. He momentarily stopped in his cleaning as he noticed some movement at the end of the street walk.
He turned to look at who was out at this early hour and saw a girl of sixteen years of age, one year his junior, 4'10" in height, her hair brown and a bit of red here and there, wearing a black t-shirt and dark blue denim jeans. Omi immediately labeled the person as someone knew and called out, "Shiori-chan! Shi-chan! Over here!" waving his hand as a greeting to her.
He was shocked to see her bluish-silver eyes anxious, and worry written all over her. "Shiori-chan, what's wrong?" he asked worrying for his friend to be in this state.
The girl, Shiori, closed her eyes to collect herself before answering, "Grandma, she's missing."
Omi knew her friend was very protective of her loved ones, and that would explain her anxiousness. "Calm down Shiori. I think, I saw an old lady pass by here but I'm not sure if she's your grandma. The only possible place he could have headed for would be the park near here. You should try going there." Omi said as he remembered seeing an old lady with her cat, from inside the shop, pass by earlier.
"Wait here and I'll come and help you." Omi offered as he went to go back inside the shop.
"No need Omi-san. Thank you though. I should have thought of that, she loves birds and watching the sunrise with a serene setting. I'll go there now, she might still be there." calmer than before, she set out to find her grandma. "Thanks again Omi!"
"I hope 'baasan's alright." Omi said to himself and continued on his tasks for the morning.
Omi had fallen asleep sometime during lunch break in the library. He had been reading about the great warrior of the Tokugawa era, Totoyomi Hideyoshi (1), about his death and accomplishments and what happened in the era after which was the Meiji era.
Shiori was looking for a book when she spotted her friend and she decided to give him a nudge. "Omi-kun, you don't want the librarian to see you. She'll get mad if she catches you sleeping here." She said trying to wake her friend up.
Omi mumbled something incoherent in his sleep and just turned away from the offending creature trying to wake him up. Shiori shook her friend harder and harder but Omi just kept turning, finally she got fed up and was about to slap him when he came to.
"Shi-chan? What are you doing here? Where am I?" Omi asked as he saw the face in front of him. His vision had been blurry at first but when he was able to focus he saw the hand hovering above him and he began laughing nervously and asked, "You're not planning on slapping me now, are you?"
Shiori sighed and shook her head. "I was about to. You wouldn't wake up…You fell asleep here, in the library. You don't want Mana-sensei to see you asleep now, do you? That would be hell if she did." She answered her friend.
"Oh... Shi-chan, were you able to find Obaasan?" Omi asked remembering what had happened earlier.
"Yeah, you were right actually. She went to the park if you had told me any later I wouldn't have been able to see her. She was leaving by the time I got there, finishing her conversation with someone from our school. I wonder who he is though..." She answered and seating herself beside her friend.
Nagi's head snapped up when he heard what the conversation was about from the other side of the bookshelf. 'So that girl is Obaasan's granddaughter. I have to talk to her, maybe later when that Tsukiyono brat isn't there.' He continued looking for some books on history and algebra as he thought. Finally finding a book that pleased him he got out from his hiding place to look at the girl.
"Shiori-chan, why did she go out anyway?" Omi asked concerned over the elderly lady.
"She said she wanted to think and be alone, Omi-kun, but it ended with her helping another. Don't worry, she said that next time she'll make sure she leaves a note and when I wake up I'll just go and get her. I still don't like it but she says it'll do her health better." Shiori answered with a smile.
'Hmmm...Omi still needs to be 'thanked' today.' and with that in thought Nagi tapped the books to fall on Omi from a nearby shelf, not so high up to knock someone out but enough to give the other boy a headache.
It was then that Omi saw Nagi and as soon as he saw him books came down and hit him. 'What did I do this time!?' He thought but knew that it would just be futile. First of all nobody really saw him do it, secondly he'd get in trouble with Mana-sensei all together.
"Omi! Oh my god, Omi! Are you all right?" Shiori asked in a strained whisper as she stood up to help the older boy from his current dilemma.
Omi just sighed and shook his head not really hearing what his friend had asked, his thoughts concentrated on the other boy exiting the library. He stood up and placed the books book on its shelf. When he turned to see the face of his worried friend he smiled and said reassuringly, "I'm fine Shi-chan. Just a bump on the head nothing serious". He had not even realized he had answered her question or. "I think I'll go to my class now, I have gym and you know we always have to be early during gym class." He added and turned to leave as he waved good-bye to her.
'Owww! That hurts! I think I'll stop by the clinic before I go.' Omi thought, when he was sure he was out of his friend's line of sight he began rubbing the offended area of his head.
Aya was outside the building of Kritiker, near the bay. He sighed inwardly as he waited for Manx to arrive. 'We really have to talk. Damn. What's going on?' He thought as he looked out to the sea.
<---------->
Aya was arranging flowers that needed to be delivered to some guy named Duo Maxwell today. There was a special note for him and had took interest in it when it said, 'Baka, but you're mine Heero.'(2)
"Hn."
"What are you reading?" Ken asked coming from the back door. He was on duty with him today. He peered at what Aya was holding and read it.
"What a weird way to say I love you. Anyway, whose it for? And why are you reading this, aren't we supposed to mind our own business?" He continued as he walked away from the redhead to pick up the watering can.
"I got interested in the guy who wanted to give it to some Duo Maxwell. Problem?" Aya asked, resuming his forgotten work.
"Nope, no problem...guy?" Ken asked as realization struck him.
Aya smirked and hid it as he put the bouquet of flowers in front of him. "Yes, guy. I need to go and deliver these. Don't break anything. Bye Ken." He said as he took his leave.
Aya came back from the delivery and when he did Ken got out immediately going to the park. He was off duty now and was going to practice with the kids. Not one minute later Yohji came out from the basement.
Making sure Ken was gone, Yohji faced him "Aya, it seems that the night before, Ken and Omi had a mission. Both of us were out, that's why we don't know about it. I don't know what happened but it seems like the mission was a failure because of wrong information, but that's all I know. This might be connected to his depression, though."
"Oh, but why's that?"
"I don't know Aya. Go, call Manx and I'll take care of the shop. Omi and Ken are our top priority now." Yohji commanded
"And why should I take orders from you?" Aya asked even though he knew he was going to do it, he just didn't like the way Yohji spoke.
"Because I'm older. Now go!"
'I'll get back at you Kudou.' Aya thought as he went to get his keys and to call Manx. 'Mission hmm...'
When he came back he faced Yohji, "Don't slack of Kudou." and with that he left.
< --------- >
"Aya, why did you call me here?" Manx asked when she had been in front of the other redhead. The man had been so lost in his thoughts that he had snapped his head up when he noticed her.
"Manx, I believe there is some explaining to do. What was the mission you gave Bombay and Siberian the night before I came back. Do you know how much this is affecting both of them?" Aya asked glaring all the while at the sea before him. He would not risk her getting mad at him with his attitude before he got his answers.
"Still straight to the point eh? I don't know how much it has affected him but I can tell you the mission. Why don't we sit down?" She said as she gestured for a bench near them. "No one's here we can talk."
Aya nodded and sat down at the proffered seat. "I want answers. Now."
"Have you read yesterday's newspaper?" Manx asked as soon as she was seated.
Aya gave her a curt nod, not wanting to speak because if he did he might lose control of his anger. He looked at her in the eye, expression serious. He waited for her answer but she was taking her time.
He was about to speak when Manx cut him off, "President Shiryoku was suspected to have done some illegal dealings revolving around children. Information wasn't that much but we had sent Siberian and Bombay anyway. They were to kill him if things turn out that he was doing something illegal. It seemed like Shiryoku-san was doing something illegal, seemed being the key word in there, but in reality he was innocent. As said in the newspaper he is under a coma. Persia has to punish your two suburodinates because of it even though I know he doesn't want to, but he has to obey some rules too. You see, he was innocent and on the plus side he was actually trying to eradicate those illegal dealings that went about, a great loss to humanity. But I don't think that's what's really bothering Omi but it is partly the reason, that I'm sure."
"The girl, what about the girl?" Aya asked as he remembered the little girl he thought that was supposed to be sent to the orphanage.
"Inside information said she is the daughter of the secretary of Shiryoku-san, her being sent to the orphanage is complete cover up for more complicated matters, so intel says. This is all I know, Abyssinian. Your punishment, Persia doesn't want to give it but he will in due time. I don't know when but I'm sure you'll know of it." Manx informed him as she stood up. She bid him farewell then left.
'Punishment my ass! I need to get back'
Nagi walked down the freshmen's hallway leading to the library. He had volunteered to get some documents photocopied for an opportunity to look for Shiori. 'There she is. 1-A. Note to self, find a chance to be able to talk to her today or at least this week. Now to finish my job with these papers.'
He rounded another corner and crashed with another person exiting the library.
"I'm sorry." a familiar voice said and began to help him pick the scattered papers up.
Nagi didn't mind him and began on his own task of picking up the scattered pieces of paper. He was startled when the other boy gasped and so he faced the other boy.
"Nagi! Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Umm, I'll help you with these." Omi said in a panicked voice and face paling drastically.
"What was taking you? Sensei was looking for you. He has another batch of prints and you're still here." Nagi asked in annoyed tone. He picked up a few pieces of paper then stood up.
"Anyway, if you plan on helping me then, stop panicking. If you do I won't hit you tomorrow and the rest of today. You're beginning to sound like a wimp." Nagi said and gave Omi a look of disgust
Omi just nodded and got up. He offered to bring the papers for him but Nagi declined Nagi went inside the library and Omi followed, and silence continued after the incident.
Omi couldn't stand the silence they were drowning in and decided that he would have to somehow break it. When they had reached the machine that would copy the papers he decided it would be best to talk now. "Umm…Naoe-san, how are you?"
Nagi lifted an eyebrow but answered, "Hn. I'm fine, don't expect me to ask about you."
"That's okay." Omi said and they delved into another bout of uncomfortable silence that was beginning to annoy him. They continued on the assigned task, which was to recopy a story for their literature.
When they were outside of the library Nagi faced him and began speaking, "Tsukiyono, I will state right now that I hate you and your guts. So it would be better if you just kept your stupid mouth shut. Don't expect me to be your friend because I don't need any. You are my classmate when in school and that is all. In the battlefield we are enemies. Have I made these points clear or do you want me to repeat it?"
Omi opened and closed his mouth a number of times before his eyes blazed with fury. "Fine then, Nagi Naoe." He hissed. He had never been more insulted in his life.
"If I am nothing but a classmate and an enemy then, so be it. I won't allow you to push me like this any longer. Hitting me when I don't know you're there. Heck, even if I do know you still do it. Don't you think you're the stupid one?" Omi almost screamed but he continued speaking in a low voice, "You are one person and I am another, with no connection at all. We are late as it is so let us get going to our class." With that Omi brushed passed Nagi and looked straight ahead not looking back.
'Never knew he could act cold. Heh, he finally snapped and only the second day too. No more Omi being nice to me.' Nagi almost snorted when he remembered what was happening and he followed the other boy that was his classmate.
They walked along the hallway and entered their class in an angry silence and as this occurred rain clouds began forming outside the walls of the school, as if protesting to the fighting happening between black and white.
Omi went to work as soon as possible. He avoided people most of the way, but when he did talk to someone it was just for a few seconds for a 'hello' or a 'good-bye'. No more, no less.
"Damn him." Omi hissed to no one in particular. He was thankful no one was here to hear him. There were no customers and the others were probably at the back.
He went to his room and changed into clothes that were more comfortable than his uniform. "I knew I shouldn't have taken senior high and just went straight to college (3). That way I wouldn't be seeing him everyday and the world would still be happy." Omi said in an exasperated voice and fell back to his bed.
"…I should go down. They'll worry about me again if I don't." He said to himself as he sat up after a few minutes of silence.
Omi looked up to his mirror and saw his reflection and sighed. "I hate him and he hates me it's as simple as that Tsukiyono. Get over it. The only person that could possibly understand you hates you and as if it's enough you made a show of yourself when you snapped." he said to his reflection. He shook his head at his antics and went downstairs and plastered that genki smile.
Nagi walked down the hall to 1-A. He shut out the other people around him and concentrated on trying to find the girl.
'There she is.' He thought and hastened his pace until he was near enough.
She was talking to some people Nagi didn't know and could care less so he but in, "Excuse me, Shiori-san? May I talk to you please?"
The said girl nodded and waved good-bye to her friends as they waved good-bye to her.
"I don't believe I know you. Could you…umm, tell me how you got to know my name?" Shiori asked once her friends were gone.
"You see, I met your grandma this morning, that's how I know, and I was wondering if I could see her again. I really want to talk to her but could you please keep it hush-hush from her for now." Nagi said looking at her in the eye as if saying 'I am serious about this'.
Shiori sighed and said, "So you're the guy obaasan talked to. Sure but could you please tell me your name. I promise I won't tell her you're coming, but the only time you can come is on Saturday's. Is that okay?"
"Yes that's fine and the name's Naoe Nagi. Thank you Shiori-san, may I have your address?" Nagi asked bowing his head a bit indicating his gratitude. She scribbled something on a piece of paper and gave it to him. Nagi bowed his thanks again as the other teen left and he stood there and reading the paper that indicated the address.
Omi and Ken were working when Aya came back from his little talk with Manx. He looked up and saw the daily hoard of girls already there but he didn't have any other way in because the backdoor was locked as a precaution after one girl tried to come in from there. That or other girls would follow so the only passage was through the shop.
The little bell rang indicating someone arrived but no one really noticed who came in. Aya took advantage of that and headed for the back but someone had bumped into him and squealed when she saw him thus attracting attention.
"Hey, Aya! You might want to help us out here. Yotan doesn't want to help saying he needs his beauty sleep." Ken said trying to get his work done as the girls squealed.
"If you aren't buying anything then, get out. If you are here then it better be for the flowers. Hear me?" Aya asked annoyed at the noise they were making. He brushed past them and headed for the back door.
"What's eating him? He's in a bad mood today ne, Ken-ken." Omi said as they watched their leader go down to the basement.
"I dunno-Girls! Calm down. Ugh, Omittchi! A little help, please!" Ken said panicking when Omi had stared at the door.
"Hold on! Thank you for buying! Come again!" Omi said in his cheery voice when he stopped staring and started working, he cashed in the money in the cashier and went to help Ken.
Aya told Yohji what he had found out and was discussing some observations. "He's acting normal again. What do we know? He might have forgotten it already." Yohji said with doubt.
"No. Both you and I know that's likely. Maybe for the time being he has but it will come back just like any fear or guilt feeling does." Aya said in a hushed voice eyeing the door for anyone who might want to come in.
"True, but as long as he's forgotten it for now then, that's it. We'll have to prepare for that punishment too. We'll still try to figure things out but as long as he has this chance to forget we won't ask him anything." Yohji said as this conversation neared the end.
"Agreed."
"Then we should help those two numbskulls close the shop. I'll treat us out!" Yohji said with energy.
"I'll treat us out. We will go to the mall and shop for Omi or there's that band playing at the plaza. I actually thought of this and decided to buy some tickets for us, that is, if he wants to go. Besides no one's going clubbing, Kudou." Aya stated as he gave a look that just said 'don't even think about the club'.
"Hey! I never said that, the mall is fine! It's as if the only place I go to is the club." Yohji said indignantly and started for the stairs.
"It is." Aya said quietly but enough to be heard. He ignored the sounds of protests coming from Yohji as he walked towards the shop to help both Omi and Ken in closing the shop.
"Come on Chibi! We're going to see that band you've always wanted to see! Remember? They're playing at the mall at around eight. Let's go!" Schuldich called as he stood in front of the mirror, admiring himself.
"I'm coming!" Nagi responded as he came bounding down the stairs. He looked at Schuldich and asked, "Are you sure this is okay? What about Crawford-san and Farfie?"
"Brad said he couldn't come because he had a meeting. Farf...he didn't want to go berserk all of the sudden. He said if he got the chance he'll watch it from TV." Schuldich explained as he turned to look at the Japanese boy. "Ready?" He asked after giving him a once over.
Nagi nodded and they went to the car outside.
The drive to the mall would seem quiet to other people that would watch them but to the two occupants of the car it wasn't. It actually seemed louder than ordinary for Schuldich was doing his best to make the younger boy laugh by wailing in his mind. Nagi just stayed quiet even though Schuldich "heard" Nagi's smile in his head.
"So what's the title of their song again?" Schuldich asked as he parked the car.
"The Rage Beat, Schu. They're a new band named Bad Luck. (4)" Nagi explained and laughed when Schuldich gave him a mental image that Schwarz turn into a band themselves. "We don't even know how to sing!" Nagi exclaimed when he exited the car.
"You and I don't know that yet. The public doesn't know that. Let's keep it at that." Schuldich said as they entered the mall.
When they had lined up for the entrance Schuldich caught sight of the four people from a far. He excused himself and asked Nagi to stay in line for him.
"Omi! Don't do that!" Ken hissed as he turned their backs on them.
"Do what Ken-ken?" Omi asked innocently and they continued on their bickering all the more.
Yohji chuckled at the two's antics but Aya wasn't amused. He was too distracted because he knew he saw a familiar red head fly by to the other line. He wanted Omi to be free from the world be himself even if just for today and they wouldn't be able to do that if Schwarz around.
Ken stuck his tongue out at Omi and turned back once more as he did so he noticed one person named Schuldich coming across the plaza. 'Sculdich…wait there.' Ken hissed in his mind knowing Schuldich had heard him because the German had stopped in his tracks.
"I'll just go buy myself something to eat. I'm hungry! Be right back!" Ken said as he rounded one corner leading to a food court.
Schuldich followed suit when he caught up on what Ken was thinking.
"What do you want?" Ken asked as soon as he arrived at a place where he knew his 'family' would not see them. 'What am I thinking making a member of Schwarz come with me with no one to back me up?'
"I heard that, I wouldn't do anything as long as you won't together with your team mates. Plus, what would I want from a jock?" Schuldich said while ignoring Ken as the soccer player seethed.
"I'm only here to tell you that Schwarz disbanded-well not really, but something like that and to tell you we aren't doing anything to your Bombay so I want reassurance that nothing will happen to our Prodigy." Schuldich explained in a quiet voice.
"We won't do anything to him but if you make one wrong move, even if I have to go to a mental hospital after which, I swear I WILL kill you." Ken hissed and began walking towards his group again.
"Is that a death threat, Hidaka? I hope not because even if we aren't active now, I can still attack you. Watch your back." Schuldich said to the retreating figure and turned the other way.
When Ken got back he was forced to face a worried Omi. "Ken, where'd you go? I thought you said you'd buy yourself some food. Where is it?" Omi asked.
Ken hadn't really taken that long, but they were near the ticket booth now, it was a bit suspicious. Yohji just ignored them by looking at various woman ages eighteen and up and Aya just seemed dead to the world to them.
"I didn't find anything I liked." Ken said simply that put the conversation to an end and they entered the plaza.
Schuldich had gotten in a bit easily because most of the crowd was already inside because the concert was about to start, or he just made them make him go first. He found Nagi as soon as he entered the plaza.
"Where'd you go Schu?" Nagi asked as his red haired companion was near enough to hear him.
"Nowhere special. It's about time this concert started." Schuldich said and ruffled Nagi's hair a bit in the process.
"If you say so." But Nagi's voice was barely heard over the crowd of girls and boys as Bad Luck began to sing.
Nagi got out of the car and said, "Thanks Schu. I wish Crawford-san and Farf was there to though."
"I'll make sure that they can come next time, bishounen! Now go to your room you've still got school you know. You're not a telepath like me to know the answers to questions so you better study." Schuldich said, trying to comfort the teen.
Nagi nodded and headed for his quarters. He already had finished his homework after he got home from school and reviewing his studies included. He sat by the window side and looked up and gazed at the moon. He didn't know why but he found something attracting him to it and sat there for a long while before deciding to go to bed.
Ken opened the door for them as Yohji and Omi talked about it and Aya left the world leaving them with his normal cold front if not more.
"That concert was nice. We should go out more and do stuff like that again." Ken said as they got in.
Omi nodded and hugged Aya, which surprised the redhead in more ways than one. "Thanks Aya. This means much to me." He said and with that he headed for his room and Aya regained his composure.
Yohji excused himself reasoning out that he hadn't slept well last night and it wouldn't be good if any girls would see him in a disastrous state, him being the only reason that the girls came. He moved towards the backdoor after that, leaving Ken and Aya alone in the dining room.
"Ken, why did you talk to Schuldich?" Aya asked as soon as Yohji was gone and held the other's shoulders and turned him so that they would face each other. He had felt Ken tense and put his guard up.
"You saw me? Who else did?" Ken asked as he began to worry. He had jumped when Aya put his hands on his shoulders and knew that the other felt it. He knew everything he did would register into Aya's brain somewhere and would use it against him, if he got the chance, just to get his answer.
"I'm the only one. What do you know if Omi's behavior? Please, Ken, tell me. Yohji and I can't stand this anymore." Aya asked in almost a pleading tone, he looked at him in the eye to show his sincerity on this topic.
"Can we talk about this tomorrow? I promise we'll talk about it. I'm just tired I guess and I know you are as well." Ken said. He couldn't say no to the tone Aya had used and had to give in. Aya had never pleaded to anybody at least anyone he knew of. He began to leave as the grip on his shoulders had loosened.
"I don't want to see you-or anybody for that matter- hurt, Ken. Remember that." Aya said to the leaving figure.
'They're talking about me again.' Omi sighed as he collapsed on his bed. "That girl... is she related to Nagi?" he asked the air and as usual it had no answer.
He shifted in bed and faced the ceiling. "Nagi..." and with that thought he fell asleep to a dream that might or might not answer him. Everything was up to the fates.

Author's Notes:
1) Totoyomi Hideyoshi-I don't own him. He's really a part of history so if you want to find more about him just open your encyclopedias. After all that's what I did.
2) Umm...I got tired of making names. Besides, I might make a lame one so I decided that the minor characters and I mean the people that won't be seen or mentioned only once or twice will be coming from different shows. I wasn't planning on that but I'm not making this into a crossover but if you like it I'll make one after I finish this.
3) He's in senior high right now. As far as I know Junior high school students can go straight to college as long as they pass the test because 9 years of study was the only requirement needed (Grade1-6 and 1st year to 3rd year high school.) But you can go to senior high school if you pass the test for senior high. Senior high only has three years to add to your educational attainment. From what I've heard 95 percent is the number of students going to senior high who graduated from junior high.
4) Like I said minor character. But I might make a joke on this on the next chapter. From the show gravitation. If you want lyrics I'll give you some. I just didn't write it there because it wasn't connected to the story. I just needed a scene...you get the point
r&r please. Flames will be laughed at and the people who e-mail me and/or review are loved :)
