Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction ❯ From The Inside ❯ Tonight ( Chapter 7 )
The sun glowed blearily against his eyes, as his sliverish hair brushed the tinted windows, the heavy yet warm coat Aya had given to him made him felt safe and ultimately secure. He hadn't experienced those two things since the death of his foster mother. His black eyes reflected the scenery around him, yet he was still unfocused and he cracked his neck and looked around. Karasu was on the other side of the backseat looking out the window, her eyes half open, he hair strung over her shoulder folding in her lap slightly. In the middle of them, Aya sat his head forward resting on his chest, sleeping soundly. He thought wistfully as he remembered that he was now apart of Weiss for the time being. He looked up ahead A Yohji was asleep as well, leaning against the door frame, Ken was alert and didn't seem to need anything to keep him up and driving. Ken acknowledged him from the rearview mirror.
He turned his head and looked toward Aya again, shifting slightly, he brought Aya over to him so he leaned onto his chest, and covered him with the coat. He saw Karasu smiling, and he blushed lightly, looked out the window and felt himself falling back to sleep. He heard Yohji groan and awaken dimly, as he felt the comforting press of his guardian on him. "Welcome to your new life, Kaoru." The voice was the deep tenor of the face pressed on his shoulder, he thought wistful of what his older sister had told them when they moved into Tokyo, he nudged his head half heartedly against the other and let his mind drift into an almost unconscious state. His dreams focused on one subject: Freedom.
The inside of everyone's heart is like that Black & white
Only if love is here then pain may be as well
Tonight this world changes
Tonight, tonight
Tonight, Weiss Kreuz
She softly moaned from the silken sheets of the bed, lying on her side. Hair heard covering part of her neck and head, her eyes closed lightly, peacefully. The deep silk an unknown color in the unearthly darkness of the room, barely covering her now, one arm stretched across her breast, the other around her hips. The room was warm, yet not humid and stuffy. A small vanity of in the corner, a desk a few feet from it, across from them was a dresser, two doors gained entry into the bathroom and closest.
Someone sat on the cool tile of the bathroom, grinning like a true sadist. Before him was a vanilla file opened, its pictured shown careful about it as he held the document within. He grinned and chuckled, as he made few notes on a notepad beside him. "Ah yes.very protective of his teammates, and friends.what's this? An interest in."His eyes narrowed dangerously, "How dare he." "Dare what.?" The woman had gotten out of the bed, and had wrapped a towel around herself, her brown hair was still a mess, her eyes half closed in reality. He dismissed what she had heard taking it, the woman left and crawled back into the bed, still clutching the towel; she nuzzled her pillow and drifted back to sleep.
What a foolish toy.
It was nine am when they pulled into the back of Koneko no Sume, Yohji literally fell out the car since he hadn't realized he was leaning so much onto the door and not the seat waking him up quickly, and ignored the laughs as the other people got out. Kaoru still wrapped himself in Aya's mission coat, the coat coming nearly to his ankles, he stilled hugged it tightly to himself. In the cool shadows, he turned and looked at Aya in a confused manner of what to do, Aya went up to him and escorted him inside. Showing him around the lower levels of the flower shop/apartment he took Kaoru upstairs to the last empty room in the house, the one after Omi's own bedroom. Kaoru once again looked to Aya in a confused manner, Aya sigh gruffly and went and got Ken.
Ken had more patience and stamina around teenagers and child. He did not. Ken only laughed and jogged up the stairs to help Kaoru get situated in his new surroundings, as Aya went to drop Karasu at her apartment complex just a few miles away. Kaoru's room was bare; the carpet was a nice ice blue, with white walls, a window showing a small park with a small window seat. His bed was pushed against a corner, as the window seat was just feet from it. He had a spacious closet, and a small bathroom. A small desk stood to one side; Kaoru walked to the center of it, and looked around it in a hidden emotion. Ken explained that they would go shopping for him if he wanted after eating something, Ken didn't finish the sentence when he heard a stifled sound and saw Kaoru fall to his knees crying. Ken immediately knelt down beside him.
"Kaoru, what's wrong? What'd we do-?"
"N-nothing, its just.I didn't realize it would be like this!"
"Be like what?"
"You don't understand." Kaoru turned and looked at him, his face flushed, his eyes impossibly wide and uncertain, tears spilling to the ground, "when I lived there I didn't have any of this. Sure everyone else did, but for me.I was taken in something the size of the closet."
"What do you mean? He kept you in a closet?!"
"H-hai."
Omi was cuddled against the side of the couch, his eyes half closed in sleep as he tried to acknowledge what Crawford was babbling about. Omi tried to make himself smaller and stay warmer. He was roughly shook by Crawford, and immediately drew back into reality as Crawford now decided to give up on trying to help him control himself. Latching onto Farfarfello was a good idea then again; Crawford had moved the Irish man into his room with Schuldig and Nagi with him. There weren't any options left so he tried to survive the lecture. He had failed miserably.
What saved him though was the phone ringing, and when Crawford was out of sight he went straight to Farfarfello's room, where Crawford held the rest of Schwarz 'hostage'. Farfarfello, Schuldig and Nagi sat in a semi circle on the floor discussing their new almost non-existent involvement with Estet ever since the failed attempt for the rising of the Thing. The three looked up as Omi entered and softly closed the door hoping not to get Crawford's attention, his palm stood from the door knob as his fingers pushed it.
"Trying to get away?"
"Of course I'm trying to Schuldig.all he does is talk like a recording."
"You've figured out how to control your power?" Nagi's question stung him a bit.
"I think I have to have my palm touching in order to fully pick it up, sure I see things in the corner of my eyes but it's mainly my palm."
"You need gloves then?"
It was Crawford as he opened the door, holding the phone closed to his ear as he motioned for the three to get up and follow him down to the garage. Omi stood by the doorway, as the three men exited and headed toward the door, Crawford hung up and looked at Omi.
"You're coming with us."
"But I don't work-"
"Neither do we, we're their last resort. Get your shoes, your coming to the subway with us."
"What for.all I can do is look into the past."
"That's exactly what we need from you, stop asking questions and just go."
Kaoru was looking around his new home; he still wouldn't grasp the fact that he was now far away from his nightmares, strict rules and Birman. He thought he was finally in Paradise. Yohji had discovered him in the kitchen earlier and had given him some food.more like all the food since Kaoru was literally going to soon be eating them out of house and home. Yohji was amused by it, so as Ken, Aya didn't like the thought of the food bill. Ken laughed at Aya's seriousness on the matter, gathering Yohji into it. Aya turned and looked Kaoru who was blushing furiously at him, and didn't know if he did anything wrong. It in itself had brought about the memory that he was exactly like that when he had first learned of his departure from Kritiker; it made Aya genuinely smile kindly at him. It brought a weak smile from Kaoru and a loud laugh, as Yohji had waited for that moment and took a picture. Aya went right after him. Ken stayed in the kitchen trying to control himself.
"I hope.you enjoy.your stay!"
Kaoru grinned.
The car ride was silent, as they sped through the business district and towards Shibuya Station. Omi had his hands to himself not wanting to provoke a flood of memories coming at him. He thought about the short time he had been with theses four men that reminded him so much of Weiss. That brought an unexpected lump into his throat, he didn't feel like crying and he didn't want to. But if it happened he had no way to explain it. Schuldig was right next to him, as Farfarfello rode in front with Crawford. In Schuldig's term, he did not want to see how far the rabbit's hole went. He thought about Sakura and Aya-chan, did they even know what was going on? Both were either out of town or in another country studying.
He thought it better if they didn't know. He didn't feel the weight of Schuldig's hand on his shoulder, reminiscing was a bitch. He looked up at Schuldig as he shook him roughly. He blinked and looked at Schuldig, who warned him not to think so deeply on that type of subject. He asked why. He says it's an inhibitor. Omi made sure he remembered that as he looked out the tinted windows, as he watched the ignorant people outside him, ignoring everything around them except for their own thoughts. He directed his thoughts once more upon the life he had just hours ago, Schuldig mental interfered.
: Stop doing this.:
: Doing what? I like the past at some points. :
:I've been meaning to ask you something.:
:What would that be?:
:Past is infinite, do you fear losing yourself in it?:
:I don't know. I rather not think about it for this time.:
:Schuldig, Omi were here. Wake up.:
Farfarfello's voice cut in just in time, Omi didn't feel like thinking about the possibility of what Crawford had told him, and Schuldig asked him. That was a potent downside he now had another way to die, before it was either assassination, a mission gone wrong, and now, completely erasing your mind. Kuso.
Shibuya station was seemed to fill at the brim with all the passengers, tourists or officials were all packed in. Inside Omi say a few students and friends from the flower shop or at school.
He stayed close to Farfarfello. He seemed to fit people's description of a wanted asylum escapee that was soulless and mindless. Physical appearance could be deceiving to the unknown observer. Farfarfello did have a soul, though worn and tattered, it was still there. And Farfarfello had an intelligent mind, a very intelligent mind. One needs it if they have the physical capability of not feeling pain and putting it to your ultimate advantage of creating a massacre when needed or desired. Off the battlefield Farfarfello acted as normal as Schuldig, or sometimes Nagi at some points. He could be that calm and composed for some period of time, though it held on by a fragile thread. Omi was somehow strengthening the thread with the rest of Schwarz. Omi didn't realize that they were walking down a sterile hallway until he heard one of Farfarfello's blades release themselves and the white haired man positioning himself in front of him against three men wearing business suits.
:They look like Crawford almost.:
He heard Schuldig grinning, he hadn't meant for Schuldig to hear that thought, Crawford seemed to catch it as well, as his face eyes were hidden by the flare of light on his glasses. Omi blushed and the center businessman spoke.
"He's a member of Weiss, why isn't he dead?"
"In order to solve this case, you'll need his power." Nagi stated.
"What power would this be?" The man on the right asked, Schuldig mental urged Omi on.
"Post-cognition."
"You are an angel, we the demons."
"Only if angels are here then demons may be as well/The inside of everyone's heart is like that Black & White."
"Where did you quote that from?" The one on the left smirked.
"I wrote it with the rest of Weiss sometime ago." The smirk wilt and his facial features were unreadable, the other two looked solemn. Omi kept the grin to himself; he had made the men nervous mentioning Abyssinian and the others. What. Why was he referring them to their codenames not their regular names? Schuldig knew their names what was the point? The one in the center spoke first.
"You should be killed at the spot."
"For what? Being who I am?"
"You are nothing within this world, Nagi should have killed you."
Farfarfello immediately struck, the thin blade breaking right between two ribs and straight threw his heart and back. The man was gasping heavily and then he just collapsed, Farfarfello withdrew and the body was left on the floor, blood seeping quickly. The other two didn't seem to notice.
"Let's get this over with. You will live for the time being, Berserker seems attached to you."
"Great."
Omi wasn't that grateful at the time, he was thinking about the many images at the corner of his eyes.
I need some gloves
"Can I ask a favor, Crawford?"
"What type of favor?"
"Before I do this, can I call...them?"
Aya, Yohji, Kaoru watched from just beside the cash register, Kaoru being behind it as Ken was plagued with question concerning if he was open for a date, if he was in a relationship with either Aya or Yohji, and the new 'god' Kaoru. Kaoru's pale skin had gotten bright red with the first three hours of his new job. Yohji encouraged it, Aya stayed neutral; Ken just tried to stay alive for the questions to be answered. Aya looked down at the their new charge, and thought about what he probably needed to teach Kaoru or if had start all over again.
"How do you know Kaoru of the katana?"
"I haven't done it in a year really, He decided I wouldn't do that, he claimed it too much time from him."
"Do you remember any of it?"
"Some of it have become natural reflexes but that's all really."
"What did you do the entire time then?" Yohji had asked the question, Kaoru visibly winced by the tone.
"I hid, mostly. But he always caught me."
"A game of cat and mouse." Aya quietly whispered.
"If I'm allowed can I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"How did you get the courage to fight him? I never even conceived the thought to try it much less actually try."
"Wrong move." Yohji muttered, Aya glared at him darkly. "We need to talk."
"Sorry, I didn't mean-"
"Come on." Aya slipped by where the flowers were stored, and Yohji looked at Kaoru's ashen face. Yohji shook his head and sighed, and patted him on the head.
"Don't worry, he won't hurt you. Why would he do what the man he despises would enjoy doing?"
"Your right but..."
"Don't even pick up the thought, just go." Yohji pushed him lightly to the door, he looked back at him and went inside the cool, semi dark room. Kaoru enjoyed the light misty appearance of the room and it brimming with all the tropical variety of flowers. Aya was leaning against a large glass cabinet next to the door to the living room, his arms, and one ankle across the other, and with his head down Kaoru tensed up.
Does he even realize that's how my former sensei does?
"Kaoru.what was your former life like? Do you remember any of it?"
"Faces mostly."
"What brought you to Kritiker's attention?"
"They say my family died by mysterious causes, and that some force made everyone sick, dehydrated or lose of energy."
"And why you?"
"I didn't react to the strange cause." The phone made both of them jump as Aya moved from his position, and toward Kaoru to pick up the phone. Yohji called from the shop saying he couldn't get it, since he needed to save Ken from all the men and women. Kaoru relaxed again, but jumped at Aya's voice.
"Omi?! Is that really you?!" Ken immediately went back there, leaving Yohji defenseless, he was out of breath and staring at him.
"What did you just say?"
"Ken? Aya?"
"Who's Omi?"
"Hold on.Omi where the hell are you!? Where have you been?"
"I'm fine Aya, nothings happened to me. What's going on?"
"A hell of a lot of things have been going on, you-"
"Give it up Ken!" Aya turned away from the brunette haired man and back to the receiver, "Omi.you really need to find someone time to talk to us. A lot of things have been happening, and why are you on a damn speaker instead of the receiver?" Omi didn't immediately reply. Aya growled. "Omi."
"What's happening Aya?"
"Weiss has been suspended." Kaoru spoke up, once again silence and then Omi was very loud and very angry.
"WHAT DID YOU DO? Who are you!?"
"Umm...my name's Kaoru.I'm kinda stuck living here for awhile. Well the how being suspended thing was well.I don't really know." His voice was quiet and hushed; Ken wouldn't be surprised if Omi didn't hear him.
"You didn't answer the first question..."
"Stop using that tone...please." A frightened edge was added at the end, Aya answered before Omi could speak.
"Omi...I acted a little insane..."
"Explain in detail, Aya"Omi sigh was heard on the phone also a hushed voice, Ken knew who it was.
"You. Are. With. Schwarz."
"You're smart.I'll explain later...Aya."
"I got angry..a little psychotic and I tried strangling Birman, Yohji-"
"You did not just say you tried killing your superior, do not say-"
"I little more pressure and her head would have snapped rather nicely and it would look a little weird with a bad neck structure but not bleeding everywhere. Clean and unsuspecting."
Yohji came in to just those words and he froze, everyone froze. Aya was grinning at the new discovery of the pleasure of nearly killing the one his tormentor had found so dear, he didn't look at the others.
"Ran, what the hell is going on with you?"
"I wish I could say something is wrong but everything is fine."
"Get off the phone Aya." It was an order, Ken was tense and ready for anything that might happen. Yohji had pushed a very disturbed Kaoru back outside into the front of this shop, he quickly went back out there, anything was better than hearing that. Ken and Yohji felt the old feeling of the past, as this was the way they had even heard of Fujimiya Ran. Hey had heard of the chaos surrounding him, when he had first been taken to Kritiker and had not been starting training.
Aya was fitting the perfect description someone had told them both: multiple personalities. Aya was carrying as far as they could tell four personalities: Fear, Normal, Kindness and currently the personality of Insanity had taken hold.
"For once I wish Schwarz was here, more specifically Farfarfello."
"I agreed with you Yohji. Omi if you can hear me, hang up the phone right now." He glanced at the front of the shop.
"Kaoru close the shop."
He didn't need to hear the reply as people were immediately taken out.
"What is-"
"Call later Omi, I highly suggest it."
I felt rewriting how the chapter was going to be I couldn't wait to show the four forms of Aya so I put it there, it might also give a hint how Farfarfello will be in the coming chapters.I guess. I was hoping to finish this soon but couldn't find the time, (lost computer running to libraries), I'm just happy to finally finish this. Also I wonder if anyone realizes what Omi's going to do, and where the idea came fromw...now, Little profile of Kaoru.
