Chapter Two: Kerina & Brianna

Lynn made her way to the back of the room where people in lab coats were working over several counsels.

"Jason! Were going to start the first test soon." Lynn said walking towards a door just beyond the people, Schwarz following silently behind her. "Natasha, make sure the restraints are ready to hold Kerina, I don't want them breaking."

She opened the door and turned towards Schwarz. "Come with me, they'll take her out of the tank and bring her in. It should take her a while to actually wakeup."

The room they entered was completely bare except for a single steel table against the wall and what looked to be a hospital bed with a heart monitor next to it. They each settled against the wall with Nagi sitting on the table.

"All you boys have to do is make sure she doesn't get lose and hurt anybody.

After a few minutes the door opened and Kerina was brought in. Natasha quickly strapped her in as Jason set up the heart monitor. Soon the soft beep, beep of the heart monitor was heard.

"Well at least we know she's alive." Lynn said, moving to stand over Kerina while Natasha and Jason walked over to the door, shutting it as they took their place by it, each with a tranquilizer gun.

It took about a minute for Kerina to wake up. She groaned softly as she opened her eyes. Her eyes were a deep golden brow and had slit pupils (obviously due to the fact that her DNA had been merged with cat DNA).

She looked around the room blinking; her eyes stopped on Lynn and watched her calmly.

"Hello Kerina. I'm doctor Lynn, I work for Eset."

After she said that Kerina started to growl, her muscles tensing against the bonds. Schuldich probed her mind gently to see what she was planning to do. What he came to took him by surprise. She's shielded her mind! I can't read her! He tried to force himself in but her shielding wouldn't give.

He watched as her teeth grew out some and her nails grew longer. Soon a soft sheen of fur covered her skin, just barely noticeable. She started growling out at Lynn, all the while pulling harder at her bonds.

Soon a faint ripping sound was heard, "Tranquilize her." Lynn shouted. Just as Kerina got one of her arms loose a tranquilizer dart appeared in her neck and within seconds she was asleep.

As Lynn started to turn around Kerina lurched up from the bed and struck Lynn on the shoulder. Quickly Nagi used his power to throw her back onto the bed; soon two more darts joined the first.

Just before she was rendered unconscious she turned her head and looked at the guy named Jason and there was a bright flash.

Once the flash cleared Kerina was out cold and all that was left of Jason was his clothes.

"Jason?!" Natasha squeaked in surprise. "She made him disappear."

"Mew."

"What the…" Lynn moved towards Jason's clothes.

Another soft mew came and a little brown cat crawled out of the clothes.

"Jason is that you?" The cat nodded as Lynn carefully picked him up. "Natasha get Kerina back in the tank. I wonder how she did this. It wasn't listed as a power."

Natasha quickly got Kerina out of the room.

"Another thing about her is, I couldn't read her mind." Schuldich said as he leaned against the wall. "She was blocking me, and very well I might add."

"If she could block you then the others can probably block you as well. Yolanda must have taught them how to shield against any telepathic, including herself." Lynn said as she headed out the door. "I think you should go get something to eat before the next test. Alex, take our guests to the kitchen and have Merna prepare something for them."

Alex quickly took them out of the lab and headed down the halls. They soon came to the kitchen, and as Merna made them something to eat Alex told them to just come back to the lab when they finished.

/Well,/ Schuldich thought towards Brad. /I don't think I have ever been this board before in my life./

Brad just gave him a look as they sat down at a table. Merna soon brought over their food, which they ate in silence.

I don't know what I'm gonna do, Schuldich thought as he finished off his meal. I can't even read their minds, and I doubt I'm allowed to kill them. As he looked at the others he noticed that Farfarello was unusually calm, too calm.

Schuldich decided to take a look at what he was thinking. Huh, he's thinking about that Fiona girl. Apparently she confuses him, well this is all confusing.

Soon they were all finished eating and went back to the lab. The sooner this is over the sooner we can go home. Schuldich thought as they went back into the back room. Couldn't they put a chair or two in here?

They could here Lynn telling people to get ready to release Brianna. A few minutes later Lynn came into the room followed by Alex and Natasha who were bringing in Brianna.

Alex and Natasha quickly set Brianna on the bed and bound her down. Once the heart monitor was set up they went and took their positions at the closed door. Each with a tranq guns in hand.

It wasn't long before Brianna woke up. Her sable brown eyes instantly locking on Lynn.

"Hello Brianna, I'm doctor Lynn. I work Eset"

"Ahh… Eset… The fools should have killed us when they had the chance." Brianna said with a grin as she settled back against the bed. "You want to know if my power still works. Don't you?"

"That was the main reason we released you."

"Oh little dumpling, my power is working fine. In fact my visions have never been this clear."

"What did you just call me?"

"I called you little dumpling. It was what your father called you when you were a good girl. You always tried so hard to please daddy, didn't you."

"I'd rather not talk about it."

Schuldich decided to try and read her mind and was surprised to find it wide open. He saw that she was using her power to sort through Lynn's past, looking for information that would make Lynn squirm. He also saw the reason she wasn't blocking him; she couldn't block and consciously use her gift at the same time. Yet when he went to find out more he ran into a thought that said, Silly boy! You can't read all of me. He pulled back out of her mind in frustration.

"So little dumpling where is Anna?"

"She's fine. She's still in her tank."

"Oh, your going to put me back in when you're done, aren't you?"

"Only if you chose not to serve Eset."

"Sorry but there is no way I could join Eset. I'd rather work against someone, rather than for them. Just put me back in the tank when your done making sure I'm physically ok."

And with that Brianna turned her head to face the wall, ignoring all of them.

The physical tests took about an hour and Brianna co-operated the whole tine. Even when they gave her a sedative so that they could put her back in the tank.

"Schuldich, were you able to read her?" Lynn asked as she turned back towards them.

"I could only read what she was pulling up from the past. Everything else was blocked."

"Well Fiona's next. She'll probably be as much trouble as Kerina, but Eset was very specific about making sure she was ok. Though I can't help but wonder why."

Right now I'm trying to draw pictures of the girls so that I can post them on MediaMiner, I just can't seem to be able to draw arms and legs. I will put them on mediaminer as soon as I finish them, and figure out how to work my scanner.
