He woke suddenly, it was still dark out, the clock flash 4:07 AM. Although he couldn't see anything in the room, he could sense that she wasn't there. He had been with her so long that he could feel her presence before actually seeing her. "Robin…" his voice was a panicked whisper. He knew she wouldn't have gone out by herself, especially not in the middle of the night. `Factory! Could they have found us?' He slipped out of bed at the realization of the shut bathroom door. He knocked on it lightly "Robin? Are you in there?" Nothing, there was no sound of movement. He slowly turned the knob of the door and looked in. She was in the bathtub, he turned his back not wanting to see a naked little girl but part of his brain was screaming at him to peak. He quickly dismissed those thoughts when he noticed she wasn't moving.

"Robin!" He had his large hands under her arms and shook her as though she were some sort of doll.

"Wha…" Robin's eyes slowly opened to a pair of steel gray eyes. She shivered and quickly held herself, the water had gotten cold. "I must have fallen asleep again." She hugged her knees to her chest in embarrassment but he didn't seem to be looking at anything below her neck.

"Robin don't do that." His tone was annoyed and he mentally kicked himself for actually worrying about her. "Get ready, we can check out now."

This is the way it always was, they'd stay two or three days in one hotel and then go to another. They had never left Japan or even strayed far from the city but still, moving around so much for Robin became very tiring.

She lay drifting off in the passenger seat, he watched as her as she closed her lids and started to softly snore. He had become attached to her, although he would never even admit that to himself. He was also very afraid of what she could do with her powers.

`She the same person she was the day you brought her to me, she hasn't changed at all!'

He had recalled Nagira's angry voice after telling him that he had come to hunt her. Amon had certainly noticed Nagira's attraction to her and wasn't going to sit by and let Robin be in a house with a potential pervert. He trusted his brother but when it came to Robin he trusted no one with her but himself. He had been right, she hadn't changed, she was still small, slender and meek, she was still quiet and was always curious about everything. Her questions aggravated him at times but he knew he wouldn't last a day without them.

"Robin…we're here." He stood hunching over her small frame in the passenger seat as he unbuckled her seat belt and pulled her out. He felt like a father to her sometimes, carrying her sleeping body into hotels late at night, he knew that wasn't what the people around them thought but he didn't mind she was old enough now. It had been hard walking into hotels with a 15 year old, people would give them dirty looks but there was nothing to be done about it.

`She came when she was 15 and that was almost 3 years ago. So she must be…' He practically dropped Robin as he did the math in his head. `She'd be 18…' waves of sudden shock came over him, she was legal now and could by rights get married and have a life of her own. He had never thought about it before, they had just lived one day at a time never really thinking about a future but now... he shook his thoughts as he began realizing she could leave him.

He laid her in the first bed, slipping off her shoes and socks, he didn't dare undress her any further. She would wake up sooner or later and take her clothes off. He new she slept in the nude and if didn't bother him to much, it had been awkward at first but he soon got over it. He sat on the edge of his bed, head in hands wondering what would happen once she could leave him.

He slipped into his bed and switched off the light "I'll just have to tell her…"

Well Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 is right behind it, I don't really like this chapter. I'm thinking of revising it once I complete chapter 3 but if you feel differently just tell me so and I won't touch it.
