Chapter Nine

A solemn gathering at Tokyo General Hospital was one of great concern. Karasuma stood, looking over the unmoving form of Robin, Haruto and The Chief looking on in his quiet way.

Karasuma was visibly distraught, as she looked at her unconscious friend in front of her. She just turned, as if to shield her eyes from the sight for a second.
“ What did the doctor say?” Inquired the Chief, stepping to stand right beside the woman.

Miho looked over to her boss, being shaken out of her internal dialog with herself. She looked at the man for a second or two.
“ The Doctor said that she had no broken bones or major injuries stemming from the accident...” Miho said, then added. “ The knock she took to her head could cause problems, they warned.”
“ Problems?”
“ She has swelling on the brain from that shock of a hit....” Miho explained. “ They don’t know it will continue or not, or if she will come out of her state.”
“ Another words, after ten years of training they have taken, they cannot tell us anything as simple as if she will die or not.” Snuffed Kosaku, hands on his very bony hips
“ They did not use the term ‘die’, but there is a chance of brain damage, if the swelling of her brain does not stop.” Miho said, looking back to the prone body of her young friend. “ But they also did not rule out that possibility either.”
“ And to make matters worse, We still don’t know where that Amon is either.” Growled the nearly bald man. “ I am down two hunters now.”

Miho just nodded, know knowing weather or not it was her place to say something about what was going on between Amon and Robin She just thought better of it for the time being, for it was the safest option. She just turned back to look art the girl, laying so still in the bed. It was nearly breaking the young woman’s heart to be seeing it.

The chief just left the room, leaving a order to phone him if anything changes. Haruto and Karasuma were left in the room.
“ I’ll go phone Michael right now...” Said the lad with a small frown. “ Give him a update from here.”
“ You go do that...” Miho said, not paying much attention to the youth. “ I am going to stay right her for awhile.”
“ You got it, Miss Karasuma.” Was the boys last statement.

Haruto hurried out of the room to make his call, Miho just moved a little closer to the girl. Robin seemed oddly peaceful as she layed there, but Miho could not stop thinking about the girl’s life in the past few days.
“ Where is that man of yours?” She said to the unmoving girl, stroking the soft skin of the girl’s cheek. “ What are we suppose to do now?”

Miho then turned and walked out of the room, as the tears were right there. Tears of the fears that lurked deep inside. She had no clue just what to do now.

Once in the waiting room, she looked and saw Haruto still on the phone with Michael. She just sat down, now turning her mind to figuring out just how she could contact Amon quickly. He had the right to know, despite the utter stupidity of the man. Yet even that still nagged at her. Something deep inside of her felt like he was not cheating, but Robin had told her that she saw him with her own two eyes.

The woman just sat, thinking on just how she could locate their aloof and very somber leader. The ideas were not coming fast, in fact, they were not coming at all. She just sighed, hoping that one idea might pop right in to head.

As she waited for the lad to finish his call, she then walked over to the window of the waiting room. She stood gazing out at the bright day outside, as the rain had finally cleared and the sun was trying its best to dry the water logged city.

Her face suddenly smiled. She knew how she could possibly get in touch with the man.
“ It’s a crazy thought, and I hope Robin will not be mad if I do this...” Miho said to herself. “ It just might work.”

The lady raced for the exit, startling the youth.
“ Where are you going, Miss Karasuma?” He called out, puzzled at the sudden leaving of the woman.
“ Tell the Chief I need a long break here...” She yelled back, opening the stairway doors. “ It’s for Robin...”
“ What then should I tell the Chief?” he asked.
“ Just what I said, I’ll explain it later.” She said, as she disappeared into the stairway.

The youth shook her his head, just not getting it all. He returned to his phone call.
“ That was odd...” He commented the lad he was talking to.
“ Why?”
“ Karasuma just up ‘n’ left.” He explained, adding. “ Something about needing a long break, and something for Robin....”
“ That is odd to me...” Michael commented on the other end. “ I’ll tell the Chief, and hope she has an explanation for him.”

Haruto laughed.
“ I hope she does too...” He snuffed. I ain’t taking the heat for her disappearing like this.”
“ I think Amon is going to get most of the flack for everything... once he shows himself.
“ Yeah.” Was the last thing the lad said about it, as both hung up as one.

Haruto sighed and headed to check on Robin one more time before getting on his bike and heading back to the offices.

Once in her car, she pulled out her communicator.
“ Michael..” She said.
“ Miss Karasuma?” He said, seemingly surprised to hear from the lady. “ I already said to Haruto that I will relay your message to the Chief.”
“ I know, but I need your computer wizardry right now.”
“ That is why I’m here.” Said the lad with a bit of a chuckle. “ What would you like for me to find out?”
“ One little thing...” She said with a solidly firm voice. “I need to know where Robin’s roommate Touko works.”

The boy seemed to stop at this end. Karasuma just waited for the lad to speak.
“ Touko works for a import conglomerate called Cherry Blossoms and Associates, on Tanichi.”
“ Thank you Michael.” Said Miho, taking a long breath between her words. “ I hope she knows where Amon is.”
“ She’s his ex, she will know.” He said, then seemed to pause again. “ Would you like his address, if your out looking for Mr. Amon?”
“ No... This information will suffice for now.” She replied. “ I will contact you later on today.”
“ Alright then.” He said, a questioning tone was held in his voice, obviously not understanding everything.

The woman heard the lad sign off, and she put her communicator on the empty passenger seat beside her. She began to drive off, adding her car into the throng of the traffic.
“ I am hoping that she can give me more information than that.” She whispered to herself. “ For Robin, I need to follow this through.”

Her instincts were right there, as the decision she had made was seemed to be the right one. The woman had always doubted her instincts often, but this time she could not get herself to ignore them.

This course of action was driving her into the middle of all of this, into a place within another’s relationship. She always had avoided this type of thing, but this time felt like she needed to, for some inexplicable reason.

Meeting the traffic head on, she began the drive to the offices of Cherry Blossoms and Associates.
