Chapter 1: Radar Blips

Somehow, the girls had enrolled in one of the local High schools, each pretending to be an innocent schoolgirl. They all tested at the 11th grad level, and Alinna and Yune lied about their ages. They tried, they really did, to pass off as regular girls, but the other students knew they were different. They kept their distance from the girls, which actually turned out best for the six.

But when the sun sank below the horizon, and the city went into it's nightly coma, the girls began their nightly ritual that kept them alive. Sure, the school provided a dorm for them to stay in, but that didn't put food on the table or clothing on their back…

They found their niche in theft. Not petty theft - high end theft. Museum jobs paid very well - some of their clients were just looking to build their private collections. Technology was another good job.

Tonight was another museum night. The girls had prepped and were ready to go, dressed in black, but each a bit different. Shae was dressed in a pair of black pants and was wearing a black sports bra, showing off her four-pack and her tattoo. Her clothing was tight, because she complained of baggy clothes being too noisy and cumbersome. Her hair was pulled back into a pony tail to keep it from her face. A pair of black gloves and a backpack to store her `tools' completed her ensemble.

Cymarel was wearing something similar, but her top was a halter. She loved her halter tops. Her glorious hair was pulled into a high pony tail, then braided to control it. The girl had removed her earrings, which could be a liability. Cymarel also donned gloves and a backpack.

Alinna tucked her hair into a hat - it was so unusual in color, that it was best to hide it. Her clothing was black as well, but she wore a tight t-shirt and cargo pants. She elected to use the pockets for her tools rather than a backpack, but made sure to wear her gloves. Leaving fingerprints was a no no.

Yune dressed in black pants and a black tank top. She followed Alinna's lead - wearing cargos instead of a black back pack. Her hair was back in a low pony tail, and of course, who can forget the gloves?

Sachiko was their ticket in and out. With her mind control, she could make most of the people in the museum do as she pleased. She dressed as a smart business woman, with a short, straight skirt and suit coat to match. The girl wore glasses that made her look more dignified, and her hair was piled attractively on her head.

Riana served as the guide, working off site with computers and spy ware to guide the girls to their destination. She knew all the ins and outs, having done all her homework and research on the museum. Riana had even looked up the item they were stealing…the Eye of Shaken. The Eye was rumored to give the possessor the ability to see into the future - something that was very dangerous. The laws of time were structured for a reason, but their client had insisted that it was just a myth, and the artifact was nothing more than a collector's piece.

Everyone was in their places. Sachiko was walking toward the front door, and the other 4 were hiding in the shadows. Sachiko began to tap on the glass. A security guard came to the door.

"Sorry, miss. Museum's closed."

Sachiko flashed him a winning smile. "I know, but I think I left my purse here today."

"No lost purses found today miss."

Sachiko kept her smile. "But you'll let me have a look anyway…"

Immediately, the guard repeated her words, but it didn't seem that she was controlling him, although she was. "But I'll let you have a look anyway…"

He unlocked the door for her at her mental request and let her in. He left the door unlocked at her request as well. "Thank you, sir. Are you working alone tonight?"

"Yes miss, I am." Sachiko flashed yet another smile. `Such a good boy…' she thought. "Please put your radio on the front counter."

He did, very obediently. "Thank you, now walk into this closet here, and go to sleep like a good boy." She led him to a small closet. He did as she commanded, and Sachiko locked him in.

"Alright girls, it's party time."

Shae, Cymarel, Alinna, and Yune all marched in. "You didn't touch anything, did you?" Shae demanded an answer, more than asked for one. Sachiko grinned wryly. "Nope. Not gonna either, that's your job."

Riana spoke in their ears through communication devices. "Alright, you want the ancient Egyptian exhibit. Three corridors down, to the left."

Easy enough. Quickly and silently, the 5 girls marched toward their prize. "Piece of cake…" Yune started, but she ceased speaking abruptly.

There were 4 young men standing around the Eye. There was the tall one with black hair slicked back, the taller one long red hair, an even taller one with orangish colored hair, and a short one that stood maybe as tall as Shae, with black hair that stood on end.

All the girls stood stock still. The one with the over-gelled hair spoke. "Don't tell me, your maintenance. Sorry, but that won't work. I'm afraid you're all under arrest…"

Shae cut him off. "Fall back! Get each for herself, get back to the coop!" The five split up, all of them hearing Riana asking what the hell was going on. "We've got company…see ya in a few…" Yune responded.

Shae tried running to one of the emergency exits, but found her way blocked by the short, black haired boy. His hair had a starburst in the center, with traces of white and blue. "You'll have to tell me who does your hair…" She tried rushing him, but he drew a sword. "Now that's not even fair…I'm a girl, and I'm unarmed." "Hn. Like I care…" he retorted. "Give up, and I won't cut you."

"I'm sorry, but I said I was unarmed. Not defenseless…"

Cymarel pulled out her grappling hook and shot out the window, giving her an escape. The red-head had different plans. He pulled out a whip that looked somewhat like a rose vine, and flicked it, catching her ankle. "Let me go!" Cymarel screeched. The ground beneath them shook before the floor cracked. She had broken a water pipe, and the jet of water hit the red-head full on in the gut, slamming him back against the wall. In a flash, Cymarel was gone.

Alinna was disgusted that the ugliest one in the group went for her. "Screw this, come on Sachiko…let's split." Alinna grabbed her friend by the arm and used the wind to pull them out the window, and rode the wind away. Sachiko just grinned at the ugly oaf, waving. "Laters!" The dude was very angry, but took the time to go check on the red-head.

The boy with the slick hair went for Yune. Yune giggled as she used pillars of the ground beneath them to maintain the distance between herself and the boy. She used another to slam him in the wall before getting out herself. "Come on, Shae!"

Shae grinned dangerously at her opponent. "I've got to run. It's been a blast, but unfortunately…" But she was cut off suddenly as he disappeared, then reappeared right in front of her, hand locked on her arm.

"Let me go…" Shae growled. Her captor smirked, and the other 3 boys surrounded her. "So you guys are the blips on Koenma's radar. Unfortunately, you are under arrest for your crimes…" The taller boy with black hair began to speak.

"Fuck off. I'm going nowhere with you…" Shae's eyes narrowed as her captor's widened. Flames ignited around her feet, and the other three stepped back. "So, you want to play with the fire?" Shae asked her captor sadistically.

"Get out. All of you…" He told his comrades. "Fool…you'll die. The flame won't consume me…I AM the flame." It was just the two of them now…

The others got back and waited for Shae. Anxiously, Cymarel paced.

"You have to admit…3 of them were really hot." Yune piped up. Alinna shook her head. "They weren't there to get dates, honey. They were there to arrest us."

Back at the museum, Shae had the whole place ablaze. But she realized that her opponent wasn't being burned. Rather, he was absorbing her fire. The more she expelled, the more he consumed. She had turned to punch him, but now he had her by both wrists.

"What are you?" Shae was pissed beyond belief. Who was this guy - the only one who could stand the heat? "Stupid human…I am a fire demon - you have no power over me…"

The struggle continued until Shae had expended her energy and was on her knees, out cold with her head forward against her opponent's stomach. She was limp, so he let her drop.

"Damn it. She's a spit fire. Good thing you dealt with her…but they were all weird." The tallest boy commented.

"Hn."

The red-head bent down to get something from her ear. Her communicator. Riana's voice could be heard.

The taller black haired boy put it in his own ear. "Shae, you bitch, answer me!" Riana screamed. "Shae is fine." Riana stopped when she heard the guy's voice. "Who the hell is this?"

A chuckle. "Yusuke Urimeshi, Spirit Detective. By order of Spirit World, I'm placing your pyro friend under arrest."

Status. Riana had cut the link. Yusuke pulled the device from his ear. "They're all smart - 6 in all, I think. Let's take this one in for questioning…Hiei, you carry her. Only you can withstand her attacks."

Hiei glared but complied. He actually enjoyed the energy he had absorbed, it made him feel invigorated, like coffee for humans in the morning. Hiei scooped up the girl just as a blue-haired woman appeared on the scene.

"Well, you got one of them, at least. Koenma might not scream this time."

Yusuke smirked. "Hello to you too, Botan. Let's just get the hell out of here." Botan nodded and opened a portal to take them to Spirit World.

Hope you all like this so far. Next time, the other's will figure out how to get to Shae, Yune will do something drastic, and Shae will be interrogated! Chapter entitled - Desperate Measures.

Ja Ne!
