Wolf's Rain Fan Fiction ❯ The Moon's Tears ❯ Toshi's Tattoo ( Chapter 5 )
Note: This story might seem kind of pointless, but don't worry!-I'm getting to the main part of the story where the plot will be introduced…and lots of scene changes in this chapter. This is rated NC-17 for crude language at this point but don't worry, there will be violence (and maybe some loving moments) coming in later chapters.
***************=change of scene
And before I forget, all Wolf Rain's characters are going to be OOC and thank so much for the reviews!!! ^_^

"I can't believe she ditched us!" Aki growled furiously sitting on a piece of building debris, "It's going to take forever to find her in this crappy place!-it isn't like her to do something like this!"
Baku, who was sitting next to her, was resting his chin in his hand with his elbow propped on his knee, "Don't worry, we'll find her." he said trying to at least be reassuring to the stressing out female wolf.
"How can I not worry?" Aki asked shooting a murderous glare at him, "She left us and right now we have absolutely no idea where she could have possibly have gone!"
Baku sighed, "It can't be that hard to find her, besides, it will be easy to pick out her scent, she's wolf, her scent will stick out from these humans here." He reasoned to the boiling Aki.
Aki clenched her fists than released them and exhaled heavily, "I guess so…but it's hard not to worry."
"I know." Baku said patting her on the shoulder, "She seems helpless on her own, but I'm sure she'll be fine."
Rayne hadn't said a word the entire time, he just sat cross legged on Aki's other side. He too was worried though, but he knew Khota better than the rest of them and knew that she had gone off chasing that wolf from earlier. He was just hoping she didn't run into any trouble though…

Khota hugged Hige's arm as they neared the other wolves smiling a little. She was happy that she was finally with her brother, even if he had acted a bit stupid at first, but she felt as though nothing could wreck her good mood.
"Work things out?" Toboe asked.
"I guess you could say that runt," Hige replied not hiding the grin on his face as Khota rolled her eyes.
"So you going to fill us in or not?" Blue inquired staring at Khota with a twinge of loathing.
"Oh, right." Hige said realizing that they didn't know the relationship he and Khota had, "This is Khota, my younger sister, we haven't seen each other in a while." He told them nonchalantly.
Toboe raised his eyebrows, "Really?" He than squinted his eyes and looked back and forth between Hige and Khota, "You two don't look too much alike for siblings." He put his hands behind his head with a confused expression on his face.
"I think they look alike," Cheza said tilting her head to her side and staring at them.
"How long has it been since you two seen each other?" Toboe asked curiously.
"A couple of years I think," Khota said thoughtfully trying to remember. It honestly had been too long to count, but it hadn't been an extremely long separation because they both weren't old and senile yet. Khota stopped thinking when she noticed that the wolf her brother told her was Kiba, was staring at her. She returned the stare and wondered what was he thinking since he seemed not to notice that she was looking back at him.
Hige's stomach growled causing Kiba and Khota to turn their attention towards him.
Khota shook her head, "I may have changed, but you seem the same to me."
Toboe, Cheza, Kiba, Blue and Tsume chuckled as Hige looked embarrassedly back at them, "What? I can't help if I'm hungry."

Leiko was sitting in a red velvet chair in the middle of a highly furnished room, with a bandage around her leg sipping her tea from the small china cup casually. There was a glass coffee table in front of her with another red velvet chair on the other side.
The room's walls were covered in dark indigo wall paper with vertical lines of black and some horizontal navy crisscrosses. The wooden floor was polished and gleamed in the light. There were decorative plants all around the room, flowers of every color and scent and even some birds in cages singing a sweet tune.
Leiko sat in her chair waiting for the person who owned the mansion that this room was in to arrive. She heard the door creek open behind her and she turned her head around to see who it was.
A tall figure emerged from the door wearing a black silk dress that was elaborated with golden stitches at the neck line, sleeves and the hem. The figure's face seemed unreal. A heavy layer of purple eye shadow was over her reddish eyes and her lashes were triple the length the should be. Her face was smooth and pale, paler than a white piece of parchment. She had black lipstick on and dark red blush on her cheeks, illustrating her high cheek bones. Her fingernails were three inches long and painted blood red. She looked like a doll, especially the way her amber colored hair spilled over her shoulders and almost reached the floor.
She gracefully stepped over to the vacant chair with a foreboding smile upon her doll like face, "Leiko, it is good to see you." Her voice was crisp and clear, but it seemed more like deadly daggers.
Leiko nodded, "It's good to see Lady Toshi, it's an honor to be in the grace of a noble such as yourself" She forced a smile on her face and took a sip of her tea.
"Do you have information for me?" Lady Toshi inquired sweetly.
"I saw this err…wolf you were looking for." Leiko said uncertainty setting her tea cup down delicately on the table.
"Really?-is that so?" Lady Toshi replied examining her nails with sudden interest, "And what proof do you have of that? If it is truly the wolf that I'm looking for them tell me this, where is the tattoo on her?"
Leiko scratched her chin than said, "Under her eye, her left eye." Leiko told Lady Toshi trying to recall if that was correct.
Lady Toshi leaned forward, "So you have seen her then. Do you know what that tattoo means?"
Leiko shook her head, "No Lady Toshi."
Lady Toshi giggled briefly, "Of course you wouldn't know." A smirk curled upon her lips, "As you are well aware of that I have some of the most highly skilled scientists in the world looking for me. Whenever they create something they always brand or tattoo it."
"You don't mean…" Leiko gasped.
"Yes I do," Lady Toshi said cheerily standing up and walking over to a bird cage, then taking a blue bird out of it's cage and stroking it lightly, "That wolf is one of our finest creations and I want her back."

Khota was curled up next to her brother sleeping peacefully as the moon shone brilliantly overhead.
Blue sat next to Hige looking at Khota's sleeping form, "So, she's really your sister, huh?"
Hige sighed , "In a way I guess…"
"What do you mean?" Toboe asked close to sleep himself as he was looking up at the night sky admiring the stars.
"We're not exactly related, but I'm as close to any family she has." Hige said leaning against the building behind him in a lazy manner.
"I thought there was something odd about her," Kiba said quietly, "You guys don't exactly give off the sibling vibe."
"Does that explain the tattoo below her left eye?" Tsume asked mildly interested in the strange marking. He had never seen a wolf with a tattoo before and he had started wondering if it had any significance.
Hige looked at the tattoo on Khota's face and nodded, "It's kind of like a brand."
"A brand?" Toboe asked just barely awake.
"It's kind of weird though," Hige replied, "You see, she isn't a normal wolf."
"What do you mean she isn't a normal wolf?" Blue asked peering at Khota, "She looks and smells like on to me."
"It's more complicated," Hige said, "She's different from the rest of us."
"How so?" Kiba asked.
Hige heaved a heavy sigh, "You know how there are nobles and everything and how they mess with nature and stuff. " He paused debating silently to himself whether or not he should continue. Khota didn't even know the truth, but since he had started he had might as well finish, "Khota was created in a lab from wolf DNA years ago in a noble's lab named, Lady Toshi. It was like an experiment to make the perfect wolf than raise it to be a military weapon, but to make it the perfect wolf they had to give her intelligence and physical stimulants. So she was supposed to be like a 'super' wolf or something, but it kind of turned out to be a total flop and they abandoned the project. Something in the experiment didn't go right and she turned out to be just a regular wolf. My parents found her and raised her with me."
"That's disgusting!" Tsume blurted out after an awkward silence, "That girl is some freak science experiment that humans made!"
"Pretty much, yea," Hige agreed glaring a little at Tsume, "But she's still a wolf."
"That doesn't make a difference." Tsume stated, "She was created by humans, she can't ever be a true wolf."
"I thought there was something odd about her," Cheza said quietly.
"Me too." Kiba nodded, "But you're right Hige, she's still a wolf, just not exactly a normal wolf."
"It doesn't matter," Tsume growled, "She was engineered by humans from another wolf's DNA. She's an abomination to our kind!"
"It may well be, but your just going to have to accept what she is and I'm warning you not to give her any grief Tsume." Hige said quietly. "You wouldn't like to see me in a bad mood."
Tsume rolled his eyes, but didn't respond.
"If she's not really related to you then why do you care so much about her?" Toboe yawned, now becoming more drowsy then ever, but was still determined to stay awake.
"I didn't like her at first, but you kind of get attached even though you're reluctant to do so." Hige said looking at Khota, who was now stirring a little bit in her sleep. "She's a good kid though, even though she can be a bit stupid and rash at times like you saw earlier." He indicated to the bruise on his face that was still red and purple and still stung a bit, "She's so impulsive."
Blue shook her head and sighed, "You deserved it though…"
"I know." Hige said, "And let me tell you, she's got a killer right hook." He put his hand on his cheek and touched it, it was still a little bit sore. "A really killer right hook, it still stings."
Cheza giggled, "I'll heal it if you want." She inched closer to him.
"No thanks, it's okay," Hige declined.
"Are you sure?" she inquired not totally convinced.
"Yea, don't worry, it's fine." Hige said.
"I think you should," Kiba said looking at the bruise, "It's all purple and puffy."
Hige touched his bruise again with his hand, "It's not as bad as it looks." Just then his stomach growled loudly causing everyone to burst out in fits of laughter except the still sleeping Khota, who looked quite undisturbed by all the noise they were making, instead, she turned over on her side and continued her peaceful sleeping as one by one, the rest of them went to sleep with Cheza watching over them.

Authoress: If you remember in the first chapter, I wrote that she had a tattoo under her left eye and so now you know what's it for! Anyways, review or I shall find out where you live and hunt you down…
Note: Lady Toshi is my own original noble since I don't like Oakum, Jagara and Darcia that much.
