After leaving Jason Reso’s room, Adam made his way down to the hotel bar in search of Paul LeVesque. The longhaired blond knew that the champion was somewhere in the building as he saw him earlier. He breathes impatiently as the elevator traveled from floor to floor until it reached destiny.

Once the doors opened, Adam walked out of the lift, down the hallway toward the busy hotel pub. A smile made its way onto the tall Canadian’s face as he spots Paul tossing back beers at the counter. This was too perfect.

Adam hesitated before making his way through the crowded joint, over toward the other wrestler. He clears his throat instantly, “Paul?”

Paul looks up from staring into his bottle of brew to find the smiling face of Adam Copeland. He grins, “Adam, what brings you here?”

“Jason Reso.”

The large man raised his eyebrow at the name; He takes a sip of beer before asking, “What about him?”

“I just came from his hotel room. I found out some interesting stuff from him…”

“Like?” Paul briefly interrupts.

Adam took a deep breath before explaining, “Jason is trying to come between Chris and Ken. As I understand, Jason and Chris hung out together while Ken was in Puerto Rico filming “Behind Enemy Lines”. Jason is so fucking hell bent on getting revenge against Chris for him cheating years ago. Jason left a text message on Chris’ cell. I’m not sure what it read, but whatever Jason left, it’s going to hurt Ken and Chris’ relationship. I know how much those two are meant to be together and it’d really suck to have Jason fuck that up.”

Paul listened carefully to Adam’s words. “And how do I fit into all of this?”

“Jason warn me not to tell Chris and Ken. I figured you could help by telling them for me. If you…”

Paul didn’t hesitate to interrupt, “If I tell them than Jason won’t suspect anything?”

“Well not really… Jason’s not a dummy, but at least if you tell Chris or Ken and he happens to come after you…”

Paul chuckles, “Oh I see what you’re trying to do…” He removes himself from the barstool and nods, “Okay, I’ll help you out, but you’re going to owe me for this, Adam.”

“Yeah, thanks, Paul.” Adam breathes a sigh of relief as he watched Paul leave the bar. Hopefully he could help save his friends’ relationship before its too late

------------------------

Gradually Ken lifted a shaky hand from the steering wheel of his four-door rental to wipe at fresh tears that tumbled from his red eyes. Just moments ago, he had left the love of his life behind at the local hotel. He felt so awful for doing that to Chris, but it was all for the sake of their relationship. Hopefully, in time Chris will understand.

Ken exhales weakly as he glanced ever so often out the vehicle’s windows, searching for a decent nightclub. Right now, Ken was in need of a strong drink to help drown all the emotional pain he was feeling within.

After a few moments, the tattooed wrestler pulls his vehicle into the lot of a small pub and raised an instant eyebrow as he spotted his good friend, Alvin Burke’s car parked not far from him. Ken sighed in relief as he departs from his rental to go into the building. He could really use a friend to talk to especially with everything going on with Chris and that dubious text message from Jason Reso.

Riffs of Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s “Blue on Black” was heard throughout the building, as soon as Ken entered into the pub’s smoky atmosphere. He walks through a crowd of people and immediately spots Alvin sitting in a corner booth with Cody Rhodes and Lance Cade. He smirked with amusement as Lance’s head was lying on the tabletop in a puddle of spilled beer with his eyes closed. Ken grabbed for an empty bag from an unknown person before walking closer to the table booth, he blows in the bag and purposely uses his free hand to pop it causing the Nebraska native to jump.

Lance slowly sits up and glares at Ken with an unpleasant expression. “Was that even necessary, Ken?”

“Serves you right for falling asleep in your own booze, Cade,” said Ken as he sat down in the booth next to Alvin.

Alvin uses a dry napkin to obliterate some of the beer as he questions, “So where is that boy of yours, Ken? I’m surprise he isn’t with you.”

“Chris?”

The dark man rolls his eyes at Ken’s response and sighs sarcastically, “No, nimrod, Rey Mysterio… of course I’m talking about Chris. Whom else would I be referring to? I mean, you and Chris are only the hottest couple in the whole entire WWE right now.”

“Were,” said Ken as he fiddled with the ends of the tablecloth.

Cody frowns at Ken’s words and curiously asked, “Were? What happened? Did you and Chris break up or something?”

Ken exhales profoundly, “Not really.”

The brunette narrowed his eyes in confusion, “Than what did you mean by “were”?”

Ken went quiet as he wondered to himself if he should tell them about Jason’s text message or not. He didn’t want anything getting back to Chris before he’s had a chance to talk to him. If it was just Alvin than he would explain, he didn’t trust Cody and Lance.

“Did you and Chris get into a bad fight?” asked Lance.

Ken nods and speaks softly, “Yeah. It’s the first time I’ve ever gotten into an argument with Chris.”

“Man, I’m sorry to hear that, Ken,” said Alvin before taking a sip from a half finished bottle of Samuel Adams. He snaps his fingers to get a gorgeous big-breasted redhead server’s attention.
Immediately she looked at him and asked, “May I help you, sir?”

Alvin hands her a 5-dollar bill, placed a sympathetic hand upon Ken’s shoulder as he responds, “Yes, get my friend here a beer. I think he’s going to need it.”

“Okay,” giggles the waitress as she removes the cash from Alvin’s hand and walks away to retrieve Ken a bottle of brew.

“So… do you want to talk about what happened between you and Chris?” Lance hesitantly asked.

Ken wasn’t reluctant to shake his head and respond, “There’s no point talking. Not to Chris. Not to anyone about this so-called relationship that I’m supposed to be in. I’m seriously thinking about walking away from everything.”

Alvin frowns with worry as he listens to Ken. He has never known Ken to give up on anything especially Chris. He knew how much both men loved each other and knew there was more to Ken’s story than what he was telling them.

“Is there something going on between you and Chris to make you think those things? You were so happy that Chris finally said ‘yes’ to your marriage proposal. Now you’re going to walk away from him?”

Sadly, Ken sighs, “I think Chris is cheating on me, Alvin. I asked him about it back at the hotel and he denied it. I want to believe that he didn‘t cheat on me, but something is telling me that he’s lying because I found these little red bumps all over his collarbone. Chris must think I’m stupid or something because he pretended as if he didn’t know where they came from. Chris doesn’t realize that he’s hurting me with his lies. We‘re suppose to be able to trust each other.”

Cody placed a concern hand onto Ken’s back as the blond wrestler buried his face into his hands. He frowns, “If your relationship with Chris isn’t working than maybe it’s time to call it quits.”

Ken quickly looked at Cody slight defensively as panicky tears came to his eyes. Softly he responds, “No, don’t say that, Cody. Don’t say that my relationship isn’t working with Chris because it will. I just have to find away to make things right again between him and me. I can’t lose Chris. He means too much to me.”

------------------------

Chris cursed beneath his breath as he looked all over his hotel room for his cellphone. He needs to get in touch with Ken before it was too late, but without his cell that would be impossible for him to do.

“Damnit! Where did I put it?” said Chris as he closed his suitcase and placed frustrated hands on his hips. He glanced around the span again looking for his phone, before growling lightly as a knock came to the door. Chris grumbles as he made his way over to answer, now wasn’t the time for visitors especially when his relationship with Ken seemed to be hemorrhaging.

Chris’ eyes expand in surprise as they encountered the exceedingly gorgeous features of Paul LéVesque. Chris stepped back to allow the robust blond to enter into the room as he asked, “Paul, I wasn’t expecting you to be on the other side of the door. What brings you here?”

“I’ve been hit with some interesting stuff by Adam Copeland that concerns you and Ken. Some stuff that you have the right to know.”

Immediately Chris narrowed his eyes in confusion, “What are you talking about?”

“Jason Reso” was all that Paul managed to spit out.

Chris’ eyes grew to saucers at the name and he nervously speaks, “W-what about him?”

Paul frowned in confusion at Chris’ reaction to the mention of Jason’s name. “Why are you acting so nervous?”

Chris stares at Paul for an extended moment before sitting on the edge of the bed, guilt gradually fills his eyes as he speaks softly, “I did something with Jason that I shouldn’t have done and if Ken ever finds out, he’ll be crushed.”
