Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Yu-Gi-Oh or their characters. Chapter 1: The Brainwashing of the Light and Darkness

(Within the `White Dorm'; during the early morning hours)

Within the newly renamed ‘White Dorm’, formerly known as the Obelisk Blue dorms, we find the Obelisk Blue transfer student and unofficial leader of the dorm, Sartorius, is sitting in front of a round table and shuffling his Tarot cards around. It has been a few weeks since a pro duelist who use to be managed by Sartorius won a duel against a student known as Jaden Yuki who was attending his second year. Even after Sartorius had managed to convert Chazz Princeton into his cult that everyone on the island now knows is called the Society of Light, he still was unable to fully convert Jaden who by some miracle managed to stay free of Sartorius’ power. Now Sartorius aims to find a new way to beat Jaden and make him see the light.


When Sartorius first came to the school, he found that Chazz had not only converted the entire Obelisk Blue dorm student to his cause, but that he had even repainted the dorm white in honor of their new leader. But try as some of his lesser converts might, they were unable to win against Jaden Yuki, forcing Sartorius to find a new means to meet his ends.


As Sartorius sat at his table shuffling his Tarot cards, he began to think out loud, “So far Jaden Yuki has managed to thwart every single member of my society that I have sent after him. And it’s just not him, but his little group too! I must find a way to make that boy see the light! My plans will move more quickly with him by my side. The only problem is, the members I send against him are too weak even with the power of the cards that I give them. It must also have to do with those mysterious monsters that he wields. The Neo-Spacians, are very powerful creatures from beyond this realm and it seems like that they have given Jaden the powers of darkness to oppose me, which makes me wonder about something. Could they be the reason that Jaden is able to overcome my predictions or did they awaken more of Jaden's power? I need to test Jaden, once again, but how?” Just then two of Sartorius’ cards fall to the ground to reveal The Knight and The Moon Tarot cards, both upright, and Sartorius gives a wide grin about this. Sartorius says, “Interesting. The cards have spoken. It is said that I need new warriors for my cause and that they will be warriors from the light of the moon.” However, soon after, a few more of Sartorius Tarot cards fall to the ground to reveal The Fool and The Chariot Tarot, also both upright, with The Wheel of Fate, reversed, and Sartorius gives a serious look about this. He says, in a serious tone, “Very interesting. The cards warn me to be careful about this. If I do this incorrect in some way, Jaden will gain even greater power and my destiny might be in doubt. Interesting indeed because the cards don't tell how exactly to proceed, but I know what I need to do.” Soon after, Alexis Rhodes, one of the `converts' to the Society of Light and wearing the white uniform of the members of the `White Dorm', enters the room.


“You sent for me, Master Sartorius?” Alexis asked, in a plain tone as well as giving him a half bow.


“Yes, I did. Thank you for coming. I need a favor from you.” Sartorius told her as he slowly looked up from his cards.


“What do you need of me sir?” She asked curiously.


“I need you to gather all of the information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, on the district of Juuban in Tokyo.” Sartorius informed her of his wishes.


“Why do you need it?” Alexis asked perplexed.


Sartorius says, with a dark smile on his lips, “Let's just say that we are getting some `new recruits'. Ones that will allow us to make sure the whole world and Jaden Yuki see the light.” Alexis seemed to get mixed feelings within in and she winches in pain that `hit' her very heart. Sartorius asks Alexis, “Is there something wrong?”


“No, Master Sartorius. I will get to work on it right away.” Alexis said as she bowed one more time before walking out of the room.


Once Alexis left the room, Sartorius returned his attention to the cards on the table and let a sinister grin pass over his lips as he thought to himself, “Soon, Jaden Yuki, I will see your true colors and if I can, you will bask in the light by my side. However, if you are unable to be brought from the dark, I will have no other choice, but to take more `extreme' actions on you. I cannot have someone with the power to stop my plans to roam free like this. This final test will allow me to see the truth about you, but what the cards told me still disturb me. The cards told me that if I fail to gather these `warriors of the moon' into the light, then you, Jaden Yuki, will gain even greater power than before. What does it mean?” Sartorius gathers up his Tarot cards, shuffles them into a deck of cards, and begins to `work' with them, trying to figure out the meaning of what they `told' him.


(Sometime that same morning; near the Slifer Red dorms)


On a Cliffside overlooking the sea and near the Slifer Red dorms on Academy Island, we find our Jaden Yuki overlooking the sea with an unusual sad look on his face. He is going over his cards in his Neos deck, which include his brand new Neo-Spacian Dark Panther and Elemental Hero Dark Neos cards, and looks in deep thought, which is a rarity for Jaden Yuki, who has already save the world from the Shadow Riders and Sacred Beasts, but now, he has to save the entire universe from Sartorius and the Society of Light. A little over a few weeks ago Jaden had lost to Aster Phoenix which caused him to go on a journey which is how he got his new cards. The battle had left him unable to see his original deck and he began to fall into a deep depression, hence the need for the journey. When he left, one of his best friends and secret crushes, Alexis Rhodes was just fine as was the Obelisk Blue dorm. However, that all changed the moment he returned to his friends sides. First he and his tight knit group learned that Chazz Princeton, who was Jaden’s rival at the school, had completely gone off his rocker from his old behavior while at the same time, apparently brainwashing the entire boys dorm of Obelisk Blue into what ever new gang he had joined. It was at that moment that everything went wrong for Jaden and his friends.


{Flash Back}


It was a beautiful sunny day as Jaden, Tyranno, Syrus, Bastion, and Alexis were all standing outside of the main building of the academy just enjoying the day when all of a sudden both Mindy and Jasmine came running up to them.


“It’s an emergency!” Mindy cried as she and Jasmine stopped in front of the small group.


“Let me guess, you lost your hair brush?” Alexis asked sounding annoyed.


“Even worse!” Jasmine stated.


“Something happened to our dorm.” Mindy added.


“Well, there have been some weird things going on around here lately, but this better be legit! Come on!” Alexis said as she began running off towards the Obelisk Blue Dorm followed seconds later by the others.


“By the way, did anybody find a pink hairbrush?” Jasmine asked as she and Mindy followed the others.


When the group got outside the dorm they found that inside of being the color blue like it was suppose to be, it was now completely white. This comes as a shock to the entire group.


“Is that the blue dorm?” Tyranno asked staring in shock at the building.


“Not anymore!” Syrus stated.


“And white is so not my color!” Mindy exclaimed in disgust.


It was at that moment that Alexis spotted someone lying on the ground ahead of them. When they got closer, she realized that it was her brother.


“It’s my brother!” Alexis exclaimed in shock.


“Atticus!” All three girls exclaimed as the group ran over to him.

Alexis lifted her brother up off the ground.


“‘Lex the whole dorms gone nuts! I tried to do something, but I was just too late. They’re with him now.” Atticus said.


“Who?” Alexis asked.


“See for yourself!” Jaden stated looking towards the main doors of the dorm.


Syrus let a gasp pass his lips as he and the others saw Chazz sitting in a throne-like chair begin held up by a group of other Obelisk Blue Dorm students who were all now wearing white uniforms.


“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Alexis exclaimed in disgust.


“It’s good to be the Chazz, and this is just the start. ‘Cause soon I’ll see to it that the entire world see the light.” Chazz exclaimed smugly.


“All hail the Society of Light! All hail the Chazz! All hail the Chazz!” The boys around Chazz all exclaimed in praise.


“Hm hm hm! Thank you boys, but I think we should give some props to the person who’s really responsible for all of this. And that’s Sartorius!” Chazz exclaimed.


“All hail Master Sartorius!” The boys all exclaimed in glee.


“Sartorius?” Alexis asked.


“Hold on a sec, isn’t that Aster Phoenix’s manager?” Jaden asked in confusion.


“That’s right dork! But he’s so much more then that loser’s manager. Sartorius holds the answers to the greatest questions of the universe.” Chazz informed them.


“Huh?” The entire group asked in confusion.


“That boys a few trap cards shy of a full deck.” Tyranno said.


Jaden who was listening to what Tyranno said turned to acknowledge Chazz.


“Hey Chazz, I get it now! You and your friends here must have been exposed to too many paint fumes!” Jaden yelled.


This caused the entire group of boys in white uniforms to fall over anime style. Chazz stood up and addressed Jaden as well as the others.


“The only crazy ones here are you people! ‘Because when it comes to the truth, you’re all in the dark! But face me in a duel and I‘ll show you the light!” Chazz exclaimed in annoyance.


“You know me, I can’t say no to a duel.” Jaden said as he stood forward and raised his right arm in acceptance.


“Hold on.” Alexis said as she stood up and looked over to Jaden.


“Huh?” Both Jaden and Syrus asked as they both looked back at her.


“I may not live here anymore, but I’m still an Obelisk!” Alexis informed them.


“You mean you wanna duel him?” Mindy asked.


“But he’s insane!” Jasmine exclaimed afraid for her.


“Than he shouldn’t be too hard to beat, right?” Alexis asked with confidence.


“Wrong!” Atticus said. “Trust me ‘Lex, all of those guys dueled him and lost then he turned them into mindless robots.” He said trying to make her see reason.


“I would have said zombies, but you know either way.” Syrus added his own thoughts.


“Well it’s up to me to save ‘em” Alexis told the others. She then took a step forward and addressed Chazz. “Alright Princeton, ready to do this?” Alexis asked confident in herself to be able to pull this off.


“Are you ready to see the light? ‘Cause guess what, I already know how it’s going to end. Thanks to a very dear friend of mine.” Chazz said with an evil smile plastered on his face.


(A short time later at Obelisk Blue Dueling Stadium)


Once everyone arrived at the stadium, everyone that Chazz had brainwashed into the Society of Light from the Obelisk Blue Dorm as now taking up more than half of the stadium, while Jaden and the rest of their group only took up five or six seats behind where Alexis was standing.


“I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since we met. ‘Because when I defeat you, you’ll finally be where you belong! Standing right by my side, as we bask in the light. It’s your destiny, Alexis.” Chazz said in a lovesick kind of way.


“Before you were just annoying, now you crossed over into creepy.” Alexis said with a stern look on her face.


“You’re just jealous because I can see into the future.” Chazz retorted.

All of Alexis’ friends including her brother Atticus, gasped in shock when Chazz made his boast about seeing into the future.


“Yeah, that’s right I can predict things before they happen. It’s just one of the many perks of being a preferred member of the Society of Light.” Chazz boasted.


“Is that so, I bet I know another of your perks. A white room complete with padded walls. Did you happen to see that in your future Chazz?” Alexis yelled out angrily.


Chazz just laughed at her and said, “I don’t expect you to believe me, that will come in time. When I win and you join the Society of Light!” Chazz exclaimed earning cheers from the other society members.


The two duelists stared each other down from either side of the holographic stage.


“Alright Chazz, time to knock some sense into you.” Alexis said before both she and Chazz activated their duel disks.


“Now Game on!” Both Alexis and Chazz yelled out together.

"I’ll start.” Chazz said as he pulled one card out of his deck. When he looks at the card, he decided to go ahead and play it. “I activate the spell card, Infernal White!” Chazz stated as the card appeared on the field. A bright white light appeared around Chazz. “So for the rest of the duel starting now, you get to see my entire hand. You see ‘Lex the society doesn’t believe in secrets. And since I already now I’m going to win, why should I have anything to hide?” Chazz informed her.


“This must be a trick even Chazz isn’t that dumb.” Alexis thought to her self trying to understand what he was up to.


Chazz then pulled a card from his hand and placed it down on his disk. “Next I’ll play, Armed Dragon Level 3 in attack mode!” Soon after, his Armed Dragon Level 3 (1200/700) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Then I throw this guy face down and I’ll call it a turn.” Chazz said as he placed Mystical Space Typhoon face-down on the field while at the same time, ending his turn.


“What’s the point even though it’s face-down, we know what he just played.” Tyranno said looking confused.


“Yeah, it kinda takes the thrill away. Now that we can see his hand, there are no surprises.” Syrus said looking upset as he lend on the chair in front of him.


“Hm.” Atticus simply said which caught the attention of everyone behind him. “I’m going to have to disagree Sy. I was totally surprised by his move.” He said.


“Surprised by how dumb it was?” Jasmine asked looking over her left shoulder.


“Yeah, what was Chazz thinking?” Mindy asked as she looked over her right shoulder.


“Actually girls it was pretty smart.” Atticus informed them.


“I’m confused. Is he trying to loose the duel or something?” Jaden asked leaning over Atticus’ left shoulder of his chair.


“Ha ha ha.” Atticus laughed at Jaden’s question for a few seconds before he answered with, “Think of his strategy as a song. If he shares all the lyrics with us, then we can sing along and it will be a hit.”


“First I was confused, now I’m totally lost.” Jaden said as he lifted his right arm up resting his elbow on the chair next to Atticus while at the same time resting the side of his face against his open palm.


“Here we go!” Alexis exclaimed as she drew her first card only to be interrupted by Chazz.


“Oh, did I mention my spell card has another effect? Your gonna love this. Every time another turn passes, you take a whapping six-hundred points of damage.” He said in a sinister way.


“Ah!” Alexis stated as white smoke seemed to evaporate from her.

“He he he.” Chazz simply laughed.


Ignoring Chazz, Alexis pulled a hard from her hand. “ I summon, good old Cyber Tu Tu in attack mode!” Alexis exclaimed as he held the card out for him to see. Soon after, her Cyber Tu Tu (1000/800) appeared on the field in attack mode. “And that’s not all! Next I’ll play my Angel Wings spell card. It’s time to earn your wings, girl friend!” Alexis stated as wings appeared on Cyber Tu Tu’s back.


“Now if all goes according to plan. Chazz is going to destroy my Angel Wing by activating his Mystical Space Typhoon. So what’s he waiting for? Just play it!” Alexis thought to herself about her strategy.


“He’s pretty creepy.” Jasmine informed the others of her thoughts on the matter.


“Typical guy.” Mindy agreed with her.


“She’s pretty round up.” Syrus said.


“Typical gal.” Tyranno agreed.


“Huh?” Both girls asked glaring at Syrus and Tyranno causing them to both sweat drop.


“Cyber Tu Tu direct attack! Pounding Peroet!” Alexis ordered.

With that, Cyber Tu Tu rushed forward, then did a few spins before finally slamming her leg against his right shoulder causing him to loose one thousand life points.


“Is your Ballet recital over?” Chazz asked chuckling a bit.


“I wouldn’t laugh if I were you cause thanks to my ballerina’s special ability. You loose another three-hundred points.” Alexis stated with a stern look on her face.

“Now I’ll throw down two face-downs and…” Alexis said but was interrupted by Chazz.


“Then I’ll step in.” Chazz said causing Alexis to wonder what was going on.


“Why do you look so surprised you already know what my face-down card is. So didn’t you think I’d use it? Oh wait I know, you weren’t sure when I’d use it or what card I’d use it on.” Chazz smirked as one of her cards which is revealed as Holy Life Barrier is destroyed and sent to the graveyard.


“Hm hm hm. If only you were able to see into the future like I can.” Chazz boasted.


Alexis gains a smirk on her face. “There’s no way Chazz is physic. Psycho maybe but not physic. If he really could see the future, he would have destroyed my other face-down card. ‘Cause that’s the one I plan to use to destroy his Armed Dragon. As soon as Chazz upgrades his Level 3 Dragon to a Level 5 Dragon, I’ll just activate my Pure Pupil trap card and send his monster straight to the graveyard.” Alexis thought out her next plan off attack.


“My move, check this out.” Chazz said as he pulled another card from his deck. Which then made a holographic representation appear above him.


“Alexis be careful Chazz is probably going to activate his dragon’s special ability!” Syrus exclaimed.


“And play a stronger one.” Tyranno added.


“Well we all know what you’re going to do so just do it.” Alexis thought waiting for Chazz to fall for her trap.


“Do you really think I’m going to walk into your trap? Not on your life. Maybe the old Chazz would have, but the new and improved Chazz knows better. Your targeting my dragon with your face-down card.” Chazz said smirking the whole time. This caused Alexis to grit her teeth as the knowledge that her plans had been found out. “As soon as it evolves as it evolves to a Level 5, you were going to blast it off the field with Pure Pupil!” He exclaimed.


“But how did you know that?” Alexis’ asked with a gasp.


“It will all be clear when I win and you stand by my side where you belong.” Chazz said as an eerie white light surrounded his entire body yet again.


“What’s happening to me?” Alexis asked for the first time in the duel.


“You’re beginning to see the light!” Chazz exclaimed before he started laughing.


“Maybe revealing his entire hand wasn’t such a bad tactic after all.” Tyranno said.


“How do you figure?” Syrus asked.


“Just look isn’t it obvious? Chazz totally threw Alexis off her game. Since she can see his hand, she’s trying to predict his moves. But instead of showing her usual confidence, she keeps second guessing herself. She’s distracted, she’s more worried about his cards then her own. If she doesn’t snap out of it then she’s going to loose.” Atticus said as he bit his thumb.


“Come on ‘Lex!” Syrus exclaimed.


“Forget about him, worry about your own maneuvers now!” Tyranno added.


“Too late for that. Hey Alexis did you figure out what I’m going to do next? I’m activating my Level Down spell and thanks to this card the Level 5 Dragon in my hand decreases by two levels so I can play it without a sacrifice. Didn’t see that coming, did ya?” Chazz asked.


“Hm.” Alexis simply said.


“Armed Dragon Level 5 your up!” Chazz exclaimed as he placed Armed Dragon Level 5 (2400/1700) onto the field. “Now send her little ballerina twirling straight to the graveyard! Inferno Assault!” Chazz yelled commanding his dragon to attack costing her fourteen hundred life points.

Alexis: 2000


“She was equipped with Angel Wing and when ever it get destroyed, it’s ability activates. So I can draw one card.” Alexis exclaimed as she drew another card from her deck.


“You’re gonna need it, cause I’m not done. My Armed Dragon Level 3 was feeling a little left out.” Chazz said giving the silent command for it to attack next causing another twelve hundred points of damage to her life points.

Alexis: 800


“Alexis!” Jaden cried out.


“Poor ‘sis, I’ve never seen her like this.” Atticus said sadly. “I just to run out there and protect her like when we were kids.


“Oh Atticus, your so sweet.” Jasmine said with a half smile.


“I wish I had a brother like you.” Mindy said with a bright smile.


“Oh yeah, I almost forgot my Armed Dragon Level 5 has a special ability. Of course you could of stopped me with your Pure Pupil trap if you had a monster on the field with less than a thousand points. But since I knew your plan all along I made sure to destroy all your monsters before activating it and so now that the coast is clear. I sacrifice my Level 5 Dragon so I can summon this to the field, Armed Dragon Level 7!” Chazz exclaimed as he placed his new Armed Dragon Level 7 (2800/1000) onto the field.


“Yea Chazz! You can do it!” All of the members of the Society of Light exclaimed in glee.


“This is your last shot, so you better make it count. Unless you want to quite?” Chazz asked with a smirk.


“Don’t give up ‘sis!” Atticus exclaimed as he stood up from his seat. “Remember that new song I’ve been working on, well it’s finally done. I dedicate to you Alexis…” Atticus said before he started singing.


“‘Lexy how I wish you could

see that no one but you can

control your destiny, your

futures in your hands so wipe

away that tear and ‘Lexy remember

your brother‘s always here!”


“Oh man, don’t quite your day job.” Syrus said repulsed by his singing.


“Roger that.” Tyranno agreed.


“Come on guys, his song was kind of catchy if you ask me!” Jaden stated which caused Syrus and Tyranno to anime fall back into their seats while the girls both laughed softly at what he said while at the same time blushing.


“That really meant a lot to me, thanks Atticus.” Alexis said grateful for his as well as her friends support. She then returned her attention to Chazz. “You want to see the future? Well here it is! My move…” She began but was interrupted yet again by Chazz.


“I don’t have a lame song for ya, but I do have this, six hundred points of damage to your score! Thanks to my Infernal White spell!” Chazz stated as his magic card Infernal White zapped more life points away from her.

Alexis: 200


“Fine I activate my Pot of Greed! So I’ll draw two cards, than I play Cyber Petit Angel!” Alexis stated as she placed her Cyber Petit Angel (300/200) onto the field. “And thanks to it’s special effect, I can add my Machine Angel Ritual to my hand and you know what that means don‘t you? Now I sacrifice my Angel and my Cyber Prima in order to summon!” Alexis stated as she sent her two monsters Cyber Petit Angel (300/200) & Cyber Prima (2300/1600) to the grave. “My Cyber Angel Dakini!” Alexis stated as she placed Cyber Angel Dakin (2700/2400) onto the field. “And just like in my brother’s song, you can decide you own destiny by choosing which one of your monsters my Dakini will destroy now.” Alexis said with a smirk.


“I pick my Level 3 Dragon.” Chazz said glaring at her.


“You heard him! Attack!” Alexis ordered her monster which sent his monster to the graveyard. “Lastly, I place two cards face down.” Alexis said out loud before she began thinking, “Alright based on Chazz’s hand, it looks like I have two options. He has twenty-seven hundred life points and my Cyber Anger Dakini has twenty-seven hundred attack points so if Chazz attacks me with his Level 7 Dragon, I’ll activate my Doble Passe Trap Card. Sure I’ll loose the rest of my life points but thanks to my trap so will Chazz. In that case the duel will end in a draw, of course there’s always the chance he’ll activate his dragon’s special ability. It lets him destroy one of my monsters by sacrificing one from his hand. The good news is, Chazz doesn’t have any monsters in his hand and even if he draws one in his next turn, my Cyber Angel Dakini will be protected thanks to my other trap card Angel Blast. ‘Cause if Chazz tries to use his dragon special ability against my Dakini, not only will my Angel Blast shield it from harm, it will also instantly fry the attacking monster to a crisp. Then I’ll win the duel, how’s that for taking control of my own destiny?”


“Ha ha ha! Your thinking pretty hard about this move aren’t you? Going through every possible scenario in your head?” Chazz asked with a laugh.


“Yeah, maybe I am and you know what maybe I figured out how to beat your tacky white pants off. You see unlike you Chazz, I’m not going to let someone else decide my fate.” Alexis informed him while her friends and brother watched on.


“So Alexis, ready to see the light?” Chazz asked.


“What happened to you? I mean sure you’ve always been an obnoxious brat but you use to think to think for yourself.” Alexis questioned him.


“You’ll understand once you step into the light. I was in the dark to until Master Sartorius showed me the way. Now everything is clear. Ah, the light shines on all of us, you just have to choose to see it ‘Lex. It holds all the answers. All hail the light!” Chazz exclaimed.


“ALL HAIL THE LIGHT!” The other Society of Light member yelled in unison.


“Hear that? You can be a part of it too. Just surrender to the light.” Chazz continued.


“SURRENDER TO THE LIGHT!” The Society of Light members echoed Chazz’s words.


“They’re nuts.” Alexis said.


“It’s only a matter of time Alexis. I play my Magical Mallet spell. This changes everything, cause my entire hand goes right back into my deck now. Then I shuffle and Walla, I get to draw the same number of cards I put back in my deck. Now let’s see what I’ve got. Ah not bad at all!” Chazz said as he held up a new monster and spell card.


“His whole hand just changed and what’s worse, he drew really powerful cards.” Alexis thought to herself stunned by this turn of events.


“I sacrifice my Level 7 Dragon!” Chazz yelled as he sent his Level 7 Dragon (2800/1000) in order to summon his Armed Dragon Level 10 (3000/2000) onto the field. “So I can bring out my Armed Dragon Level 10! Hold on it gets worse, cause now I play White Veil.” Chazz said as he equipped his dragon with the magic card.


Alexis as well as her friends and brother had to hold up their hands in front of their eyes in order to protect them from the intense light that the card was giving off. Suddenly Chazz’s Armed Dragon Level 10 turned completely white.


“His monster it’s too powerful, but that doesn’t mean that I’m gonna loose.” Alexis said out loud before she thought, “I can still end this in a draw!”


“I play Doble Passé!” Alexis exclaimed as she activated her trap card. However, unaware of what Chazz’s new spell card could do. Alexis’ trap card would not go into effect.


“Huh, why isn’t it activating?” Alexis asked shocked.


“That’s because my Armed Dragon is protected by the light of truth it’s wearing a White Veil so when it attacks every spell and trap card is destroyed.” Chazz said even as his dragon went to work and wiped out her magic and trap cards. “Now Armed Dragon Level 10 attack your target her Cyber Angel Dakini! Show her the light, Armed Luminizer Blast!” Chazz ordered his dragon which wiped out the rest of Alexis’ life points causing her to loose the duel.

Her friends were all shocked by this turn of events.


“It’s over!” Jaden exclaimed as he stood up from his seat.


Once the light disappeared, Alexis slumped over a little causing Jaden to rush forward.


“Is she okay?” He asked running towards the dueling platform.


As Jaden, Atticus and the others rushed towards the dueling platform, Alexis finally succumbed to the exhaustion and collapsed to the ground.


“Sissy!” Atticus exclaimed trying to get her attention.


“What are you gonna do sing her another lame song? Just give it up dorks, she’s one of us now and soon you’ll all be on my side.” Chazz said with a sinister look in his eyes.


“She must be in shock.” Jaden informed the others of his opinion.


“Say something.” Both Jasmine and Mindy said in unison.


“You have nothing to be ashamed of ‘sis, you tried you best out there.” Atticus encouraged her.


“Atticus is right, you stayed true to yourself ‘Lex. You stuck to your guns and you never gave up.” Jaden added even as Alexis began to get back up off the ground.


“Don’t you guys see, I’m glad I lost. It opened my eyes to the truth and helped me to see the light.” Alexis’ words caused her friends to gasp in shock. “You were right Chazz, thank you. I’m ready to enter the Society of Light now.” Alexis said with a smile.


“It’s your destiny!” Chazz stated before he laughed quietly to himself.


“This is worse than I thought.” Jaden said still not understanding what happened to Alexis.

After that, with Alexis’ help the Society of Light managed to brainwashed the Girls dorm of Obelisk Blue all except for Jasmine and Mindy who both left the dorm in order to protect themselves from the Society of Light.


Jaden took a deep breathe to try and calm his thoughts while saying, in an unusual solemn tone, “Man. Things are getting way out of hand. Sartorius has total control of the Blue Dorm, turning it into his `White Dorm', nearly all of the Obelisk Blue students, including Alexis, are on his side, and now, he is starting to brainwash the Ra Yellow Dorm. If this keeps up, Sartorius is going to take over the entire school and based on what I know from Aquos, Flick, and the others, if I don't stop him, the whole universe is gone.” Jaden's stomach gives a loud growl, he holds his stomach, and says, with his usual grin, “Well, it doesn't help to worry on an empty stomach. I wonder if the expert chef teacher in Ra Yellow will make me some grub.” However, Jaden takes another sigh, looks towards the `White Dorm', and says, in a serious tone, “To be honest, I hope he duels me for the food because I need to my mind off of this . . . and Alexis. Ever since she went with them, it never has been same. I'll get her back . . . someday. I promise you that, Alexis. Whatever mind-control Sartorius has on you, I will break it. I promise that I will get you as well as the other students back and I never break a promise, especially to people I care about.” Jaden then heads off towards the Ra Yellow Dorms to see if he can't something to eat. However, what he doesn't know is that he is been watched from the woods. When we get a good look at the figure, we find that he looks exactly like Yugi Moto, expect he has honey-tan skin like an Egyptian and he is wearing clothing and jewels of an Egyptian Pharaoh as well as transparent as a ghost.


The figure says, sounding exactly like the adult Yugi Moto, “So, that's the person that my aibou chose to be his successor as the King of Games. He definitely has the heart and soul of a duelist, I can tell. However, even through he saved the world from those Sacred Beasts like Yugi and I did from Marik's dark side and Zorc and he has help from those Neo-Spacians, he is going to need even more help to stop them. It looks like Queen Serenity was right. I need to bring him here and I need to return to my friends. We will see each other soon . . . Jaden Yuki.” The transparent figure then quickly turns into a sphere of rainbow light and takes off into the stars.


(The Next Day: A Park located in the Juuban district of Tokyo)

It was a cool fall morning in the city of Tokyo, Japan and everywhere you looked, people were going about their business totally oblivious to any danger that had found it’s way into the ancestral home of the ninja and samurai. It had been a year since the city of Tokyo had seen any violence or had any weird occurrences happen. The first occurrence had to do with the game known as Duel Monsters. The first real problem began when an unknown organization sought out to steal all the rare cards in the world. If not for the courageous acts of a young CEO known as Seto Kaiba as well as his apparent rival, Yugi Moto, the world of Duel Monsters would have been changed as we know it. The second occurrence involving Duel Monsters was when Duel Monsters began to appear out of nowhere and it was once again up to Yugi, Kaiba, and Yugi’s friends to save the day against a mad man known as Dartz. The third occurrence which had nothing to do with Duel monsters took place a year later. It was at night so not many people are sure if it was real or not. Out of the sky appeared a large what appeared to be an egg. When it hatched, a large parrot-like bird appeared and began to tear up the Odiaba sector of Tokyo. Then as if by magic another giant creature this time a dinosaur that looked like a T-Rex came out of nowhere and began battling the bird. This went on for a few minutes until suddenly both monsters disappeared leaving a major highway in Odiaba in ruins. Than in the year 1996, the city of Tokyo was hit by more of these strange creatures that a few of the locals learned were known as Digimon. It was up to a group of eight young kids who were given the ability to stop these creatures using monsters of their own to do battle. Eventually, the kids managed to beat the apparent ringleader of the evil Digimon, who turned out to be the lesser of two evils. After they beat the Digimon known as Venom Myotismon, they disappeared into a rainbow colored light and went to the Digital world where they did battle with more evil Digimon until thy finally came face to face with an even stronger and more evil Digimon known as Apoclymon. The group of kids proved yet again to be more powerful then evil when they worked together and beat him as well. They came home and all was quiet for a few years until three years ago when yet another enemy came from the Digital world. It was in the form of a fellow Digidestined who had lost his way and was consumed by an evil force. This time would not just take the original eight children to beat this enemy but a new crop of Digidestined children. This time it would take all of the world’s children to win this battle, and win it they did. The world then knew peace for a time, until our world was invaded by aliens from another dimension. It occurred a year after the Digital Monster ordeal. This time instead of monsters battling the forces of evil, five young women joined in the fight. They had supernatural powers bestowed upon them by the planets of the Solar System. From the year of 2004, the country of Japan saw countless battles between the young girls known to us as the Sailor Scouts. Over the course of the year, they were joined by more powerful allies and fought more powerful enemies. Their last battle was against a rogue scouts known in the universe as Sailor Galaxia. The final battle for the scouts came at the end of 2004 when Sailor Moon leader of the Sailor Scouts battled against Galaxia and won.

Now it is sometime in the late 2005 and unknown to the rest of the world, the scouts have settled down and are leading peaceful lives among the rest of us. The Scouts that make up the Outer group also known as Sailors Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto all live together in a nice mansion on the rich side of the Juuban district. Uranus also known as Amara Ten’ou races cars as a hobby as well as helps her partner and love interest Michelle Kaiou, also known as Sailor Neptune, when Michelle has a music concert to give. Trista Meiou, also known as Sailor Pluto, when she’s not guarding the Time Gate is a fashion designer. Hotaru Tomoe, also known as Sailor Saturn, is starting her 8th year of school. As for the group of Scouts that make up the Inner group also known as Sailors Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus, who in everyday life were known as Serena Tsukino, Amy Mizuno, Raye Hino, Lita Kino and Mina Aino, they all are now in high school and enjoying the peace that they feel they all deserve.

On this particular day the young fourteen years old Hotaru Tomoe was sitting on a bench in Hiroshima Park in the Juuban District enjoying nature and waiting for Serena who said that she’d meet her there in a few minutes. Lately it seemed that both Hotaru and Serena were hanging out a lot together when they weren’t with the others of their group. For Hotaru it was because she may have had a bad day at school with other kids making fun of her for they way she is. As for Serena, occasionally she’d need to get away from the other Inner Scouts due to the fact that they always seemed to put her down. To Serena, it seemed like the Outer Scouts treated her better then the other Inner Scouts.

What the other Scouts didn’t know about Serena was that she was very smart. Not as smart as Amy and not a huge book worm, but she was still very smart. The problem was when she was little in elementary, Serena was beaten up just for being smart by the local bullies. She continued to get bullied until she started acting stupid in front of people. She started to act stupid after a 'brutal incident' that Serena doesn't wish to talk about, so, Hotaru never asked, through even her family knows about it. After school during supposed Detention, Serena would do her homework and read as per agreement with the school through her parents who knew what was going on but promised never to tell her friends until she decided to tell them herself. Now; however, she was belittled by Raye every chance she got and Mina and Lita would on occasion try and tell her she needed to grow up and be more mature. Amy unlike the others only said that she needed to apply herself to her studies.

As Hotaru was sitting there waiting on Serena, she was suddenly interrupted by a tall man who was standing in front of her. When she looked up she saw that the man was wearing a mostly white trench coat. And he had long lavender hair with a mesh of white at the center of his hair on top of his head. The man’s cat-like yet sinister looking eyes gave her pause and an insecure feeling of unease.

“Excuse me sir, but who are you and how can I help you?” Hotaru asked a little fright edged in her voice.

“No need to be afraid my dear. I mean you no harm. My name is Sartorius Takuma

and I was wondering if you would know of any up and coming strong Duel Monster champions in the area?” Sartorius asked.

“Sartorius Takuma! Aren’t you Aster Phoenix’s manager?” Hotaru asked shocked.

“The very same miss. I am at this time looking for new duelist to sponsor in the pro leagues.” He said.

“I wish I could do that, but unfortunately, I’m still a little young to go into the pros.” Hotaru said glumly.

“Well would you mind if I saw how good you are at dueling Miss…” Sartorius asked letting a smile play across his face.

“My name is Hotaru Tomoe and I guess so but where do you want to duel at?” Hotaru asked.

“Well then Hotaru, why don’t we go over to where that table is and I’ll set up my deck there and you can duel anyway you’re comfortable with.” Sartorius said.

Once the two of them walked over to the table, Sartorius began to set his cards on the table while Hotaru pulled a duel disk out of a backpack she had with her.

“You don’t have a duel disk sir?” Hotaru asked perplexed.

“Just call me Sartorius, Hotaru and as for having a duel disk, no I don’t. I find that using the old way of dueling is much more refreshing. I have another protégé that learned of my dueling technique sometime ago.” Sartorius said as he continued to set up his cards.

“Well I’m not very good so I apologize if I don’t give you a good duel.” Hotaru informed him.

“That’s quite alright dear. I am still looking forward to this.” Sartorius said out loud with a smile while the whole time thinking, “Especially since I can feel great powers coming from you and once I turn you to my side, others will fall.”

“Let’s duel!” Both Sartorius and Hotaru yelled at the same time as their duel begins.

Sartorius tells Hotaru, as he drew five cards from his deck, “Now then miss Tomoe I believe I shall do the gentlemanly thing and allow you to go first.”

“Alright Mister Takuma.” Hotaru said as she too drew five cards and went over them to decide her first move. Hotaru puts one card on her duel disk and she says, “I’ll play Magical Ghost in defense mode!” Soon after, Magical Ghost (1300/1400) appears on the field in defense mode. Hotaru puts one card in the spell/trap slots, and she says, “Then I’ll place one card face-down and end my turn.”

“That was a good move for an amateur miss Tomoe, but I’m afraid that now I will have to show you why I am considered the best of the best in the dueling world. Time for you to feel the power of destiny.” Sartorius says while allowing a sinister grin to pass over his lips causing Hotaru to get an uneasy feeling about him. “First I play my Arcana Force VII-The Chariot in attack mode!” Sartorius says as he puts one card face-up on the table. Soon after, Arcana VII-The Chariot (1700/1700) comes to the field in attack mode. The image of the card appears above the monster’s head and starts to rotate.

Hotaru thinks in her mind, perplexed, “What’s going on here? How did he create a monster hologram without a duel disk?”

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly smile on his lips, “You must be wondering about my cards, Miss Tomoe. Here is the thing about my cards, they have two special abilities. The ability that it has depends on the position of the card. It has an upright and an upside down position and its ability depends on that position. And you get to decide when it stops, but I will explain about the ability when the time comes.”

Hotaru yells out, seriously, “Okay, stop!” Hotaru hoped that wherever it stopped it would be good for her. However, the card landed right side up and unknown to Hotaru, which would benefit Sartorius.

Sartorius says, with an evil sly smile, “Sorry, Miss Tomoe, but the card landed in the right side up position and its effect works in m favor. Since it is right side up, whenever I destroy one of your monsters in battle, it gets special summoned to my side of the field as my monster.”

Hotaru gasps and yells out, horrified, “No!”

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly smile, “Before we continue, I have something else to inform you about. One day in my life, my life was changed by an incredible event and I have created and become the leader of a prestigious group known as the Society of Light. Its mission is to destroy all darkness in the universe and restore justice and peace to this world. And when you lose this duel, you will become a member of my Society.”

Hotaru says, with a serious tone, “And if I refuse…?”


Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly smile, “You will not, my dear. When you lose this duel, you shall see the light and be reborn. You see, my dear, like you, I have a special power of my own. Like you can heal, I can see into the future.”

Hotaru yells out, shocked, “How do you know about my power?!”

Sartorius says, with an evil sly grin, “You shall know soon enough when you see the light and fulfill your destiny.” Sartorius then calls out, with a serious tone, “Now let your journey begin! Arcana Force Seven, destroy her Magical Ghost!” Sartorius’ monster attacks and destroys Hotaru’s monster, but since it was in defense mode, she doesn’t lose any life-points. Sartorius then says, with an evil sly grin, “Now, I can summon your monster to my side of the field.” Soon after, Magical Ghost (1300/1400) comes to Sartorius’ side of the field in attack mode.

“Now than here is the thing about my cards young Miss Hotaru Tomoe. I have the ability to tell the future and I use my cards to do just that. Now most of my cards in my deck have two effects depending on whether or not the card is upside down or right-side up. Now think carefully because this is where everything gets sort of complicated. I am going to spin my monster card and it will be up to you in order to decide when it stops. Now as I already said depending on whether or not it’s upside down or right-side up depends on the effect which I will explain when the time comes. Now get ready.” Sartorius said as he made his card spin.

Hotaru draws one card from her deck and she says, “Okay, it is time to turn this duel in my favor!” Hotaru then thinks in her mind, seriously, “This card along with the other two in my hand as well as the card I’ve already got on the field should do the trick nicely. I’ve got to win this duel. Who knows what will happen if I lose?” Hotaru puts one card on her duel disk and calls out, “Now, I summon my Red-Eyes Black Chick in attack mode!” Soon after, Red-Eyes Black Chick (800/500) comes to the field in attack mode. Hotaru then says, with a smile, “Now, don’t think that you will be seeing my little chick cause thanks to its special ability, he is going to go bye-bye so I can summon his daddy, who is strong as me, but not as beautiful: The Red-Eyes Black Dragon!” Hotaru puts the card on her duel disk, her chick grows and transforms, and Red-Eyes Black Dragon (2400/2000) comes to the field in attack mode.

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly smile, “Very good, Miss Tomoe. You’ve managed to gain a more powerful monster. Well done. However, you can’t escape fate.”

Hotaru says, with a serious tone, “I don’t know what your game is, Mister Takuma, but I can assure you that you will not get away with it! I can sense evil inside of you!”

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly smile, “Evil, you say?”

Hotaru tells Sartorius, with a serious tone, “Yes! And whatever plans you have for me, they will not happen! I will defeat you and your plans!”

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly grin, “No one escapes fate, but you will see soon enough when you see the light.”

Hotaru pushes a button on her duel disk and says, “We will see! However, I shall take you down a peg! Now, I play one of the two spell cards! The first is my face-down card known as my Dragon Nails and it gives my dragon an extra six hundred attack points.” Hotaru’s face-down card is revealed as Dragon Nails and Red-Eyes Black Dragon’s stats rises from (2400/2000) to (3000/2000). Hotaru puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “Next, I play my Dragon Treasure! This equip spell gives my dragon an extra three hundred attack and defense points!” Soon after, Hotaru has her Red-Eyes Black Dragon’s stats then raise from (3000/2000) to (3300/2300).

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly smile, “Well done, Miss Tomoe. You are indeed a powerful duelist with a powerful deck despite your amateur status. You shall be an excellent addition to my Society. And when you are part of the Society, I shall give you an even stronger deck to match your new power.”

Hotaru calls out, strongly, “Sorry, but I like my deck the way that it is! Red-Eyes, attack and get back my monster! Inferno Fire Blast!” Red-Eyes Black Dragon sends a breath of flames into Magical Ghost, destroying it, and Sartorius’ life-points drop by 1900 hundred points.

Sartorius gets an even wider evil grin on his face and says, with an evil sly tone, “Excellent! You have regained your monster and taken a large part of my life-points with it! Your skill and power shall greatly be appreciated in my Society.”

Hotaru says, with a determined tone, “I shall never help you or your plans!” Hotaru puts one card in the spell/trap slots and she says, “I end my turn!”

Sartorius draws one card from his deck, puts it on the table, and he says, with an evil sly grin, “No one can stop destiny my dear. And this card shall help! I play the spell card known as Suit of Swords X!” The spell card Suit of Swords X appears above Sartorius and starts to rotate. Sartorius then tells Hotaru, “Now, think about this carefully. If this card lands right side up, your monsters are destroyed and if it lands upside down, my monsters are gone.”

Hotaru waits for a moment and yells out, “Stop!” Hotaru hoped that the card would land in her favor, but instead, it lands right side up in Sartorius’ favor.

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly grin, “Sorry, Miss Tomoe, it looks like destiny is in my favor as I predicted. Now, all of your monsters are destroyed!”

“No!” Hotaru yells out in horror as her Red-Eyes Black Dragon is destroyed.

Sartorius puts another card on his table and yells out, “Now I summon Arcana Force one known as The Magician in attack mode.” Just then Arcana Force I-The Magician (1100/1100) comes to the field in attack mode. The card appears above the monster’s head and starts to rotate. Sartorius tells Hotaru, “Like my Chariot, my Magician’s ability depends on where the card lands. However, destiny has already determined where it will land. However, I’ve taken enough of your time. Now, choose when it will stop.”

Hotaru calls out, begging tone in her voice, “Stop!” Hotaru hoped that it would stop in her favor, but like the previous cards, it lands right side up. Hotaru yells out, stunned, “No! Again?!”

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil sly smile, “I told you my dear that destiny is on my side. Since The Magician is right side up, it will double when I play a spell card.”

Hotaru pushes a button on her duel disk and calls out, “Not when I play my Trap Hole card!” Hotaru’s face-down card is revealed to be the Trap Hole trap card and Hotaru says, with a sly grin, “Thanks to this card, any monster summoned with one thousand or more attack points is destroyed and since your monster has over one thousand, it is gone!” A giant hole appears below The Magician and it vanishes into the hole as it is destroyed.

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with a snort, “Well done, but my Chariot is still on the field! Now, attack her directly!” The Chariot fires a blast into Hotaru and she cries out as she is hit causing her to lose 1700 life-points. Sartorius puts one card face-down on the table and he says, with an evil sly grin, “I shall place one card face-down and end my turn.”

Hotaru draws one card from her deck and she thinks, “I’ve got to find a way to turn this duel around or whatever evil powers will take me over! I know it! No! I can’t let that happen! I won’t let him use me for his evil plans! And I know he might go after my princess and my family too! I have to protect Serena-hime, Amara-papa, Michelle-mama, and Trista-mama! I won’t let him hurt them and I won’t let him use me for his evil purposes!”


Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil smile, “Have you seen that destiny can’t be changed? You are destined to lose and see the light.”

Hotaru says, with a serious tone, “No! I don’t plan on seeing your ‘light’!” Hotaru puts one card in the spell/trap slots and she says, “First, I play my Card of Sanctity spell card, so, both of us must draw until we have six cards in out hands!” Sartorius and Hotaru draw from their decks until they each have six cards in their hands. Hotaru puts another card in the spell/trap slots of her duel disk and says, “Next, I play my Monster Reborn to bring back Red-Eyes Black Dragon!” Soon after, Red-Eyes Black Dragon (2400/2000) returns to the field in attack mode. Hotaru then puts one card in the spell/trap slots of her duel disk and calls out, “Then I play my Dragon Gunfire spell card! Since I have a dragon on the field, I can play either of its two effects! I can either destroy one monster on your side with eight hundred defense points or less or hit you directly with eight hundred points of damage! Since your monster has more than eight hundred attack points, I shall attack you directly!” Just then a large fireball comes from Red-Eyes Black Dragon’s mouth and Sartorius yelps as he loses 800 life-points.


Sartorius says, with an evil smile, “Well done, Miss Tomoe.”

Hotaru calls out, with a serious tone, “If you are impressed, then try this! Red-Eyes Black Dragon, destroy his Chariot! Inferno Fire Blast!” Red-Eyes Black Dragon fires a breath of flames from its mouth at Sartorius’ monster, destroying it, and Sartorius yelps out as he loses 700 more life-points. Hotaru puts one card in the spell/trap slots and she says, “I’ll place this face-down and call it a turn.”

Sartorius thinks in his mind, with an evil smile, “She has done very well and proven to be very worthy for my Society! However, I must end this duel because I sense someone with the power of a ‘Chosen Duelist’ similar to Jaden Yuki’s power fast approaching. Someone that represents The Moon and I know Miss Tomoe is one of the warriors of The Moon.” Sartorius draws one card from his deck and gives a wide evil sly smile that unnerves Hotaru. Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil smile, “Just as I thought. Destiny is on my side and this card shall end this duel.

Hotaru asks, perplexed, “What do you mean?”

Sartorius flips over the card face-down on the table and calls out, “You shall see when I play my Necro Sacrifice spell card! This card transfers up to two Arcana Force monsters from my grave to your side of the field and then I can summon a monster from my hand based on the number of monsters that I gave you! In short, if I give you one monster, I can summon one five or six star monster and if I give you two, I can summon a seven to eight star monster. So, I shall give you my Chariot and my Magician.” Soon after, two beams of light come from Sartorius’ graveyard pile, the turn into two cards on Hotaru’s duel disk, and Arcana Force I-The Magician (1100/1100) and Arcana Force VII-The Chariot (1700/1700) comes to Hotaru’s side of the field. Sartorius then says, with an evil sly smile, “However, you are allowed to choose their modes.”

Hotaru says, with a worried tone in her voice, “Defense mode!” Both monsters switch into defense mode and the cards appear above their heads. Hotaru thinks in her mind, “If these land right side up, I get their abilities, but what if they land upside down?”

Sartorius says, with an evil smile, “Now, let’s see what destiny has in sort for you, Miss Tomoe.” Sartorius then says, with an evil smile, “Stop! Right there!” Soon after, the cards above the heads of The Magician and The Chariot land upside down.

Hotaru yells out, stunned, “It can’t be!”

Sartorius tells Hotaru, with an evil smile, “Oh, but it is, Miss Tomoe. Don’t you see? It is your destiny to lose and be reborn by the light!” Sartorius says, with an evil smile, “Since The Chariot is upside down, it will come back to my side of the field when it is destroyed in battle and with The Magician upside down, when a spell card is played, I get five hundred more life-points!” Sartorius then puts one card on the table and yells out, “And now, for the monster that will end this duel! Meet Arcana Force Eighteen known as The Moon in attack mode!” Soon after, Arcana Force XVIII-The Moon (2800/2800) comes to the field in attack mode. The card appears above its head and Sartorius says, with an evil smile, “You should know what to do by now. However, you should know that this card shall land right side up.”

Hotaru calls out, worriedly, “Stop!” As the card slows down, Hotaru thinks in her mind, worriedly, “Please don’t land right-side up, again! Please, please, please don’t land right side up! Please don’t let this evil person be right!” But once again the card lands right side up.

Sartorius says, with an even more sinister evil smile, “Well, what do you know? It is right side up. However, you will not need to worry about its effect. This duel will end before it is played. However, this card represents something. It represents the person that you are trying to protect. A person that represents this card that has power like yours and even greater power that I require.”

Hotaru thinks in her mind, horrified, “Oh no! Does he mean Serena-hime?! She is coming here and I can’t let him get his hands on her!”

Sartorius then puts one card on the table and yells out, seriously, “Now, it is time to move destiny along and end this duel. I play the spell card known as Special Hurricane. However, before I state what this card does, The Magician upside down effect activates, giving me five hundred more life-points!” Sartorius’ life-points increase by 500 and Sartorius says, with an evil sly smile, “Now, if I may continue, this card destroys all special summon monsters on the field as long as I discard one card from my hand. However, before you make assumption about my Moon, Miss Tomoe, you should know that thanks to my spell, my Moon is counted as a Normal Summon.”

Hotaru gasps in horror and yells out, stunned, “No!” Sartorius discards one card from his hand to the graveyard pile on his table and a huge hurricane destroys The Chariot, The Magician, and her Red-Eyes Black Dragon.

Sartorius yells out, strongly and with a wide evil sinister smile, “Now, Moon, attack her directly! Show her the light and end this duel!” The Moon fires a beam of white energy into Hotaru and Hotaru screams out as the attack hits her causing her whole world to go white as her life-points drop to zero.

With the final attack done, the final holograms on the field fade away, Hotaru’s eyes are glazed after the attack, she closes them, as she faints onto the ground, and on her stomach.

Sartorius says, with an evil smile as he stares at the prone girl at the ground, “Do not fear, Miss Tomoe. Once you awaken, you will be reborn in the light! You might be an amateur, but you are a strong duelist. One that will be perfect for my Society and once you are reborn, you will be an even stronger duelists. And you will help me bring others into the Society along with the friend that you are waiting for.”

“HOTARU!!!” a familiar female voice calls out in horror. Sartorius looks to see a familiar female teen with blond hair in meatball style pigtails that we know as Serena Tsukino AKA Sailor Moon, the protector of love and justice.

Sartorius thinks in his mind, with an evil smile, “Yes! Yes! I can feel it! She is indeed the one! She is The Moon card, a symbol of Purity and light within the darkness of the night! She is the Chosen Duelist that I need!”

Serena puts Hotaru in her arms, gently shakes her, and yells out, worriedly, “Hotaru! Hotaru-chan! Please wake up! Please wake up!” However, Hotaru only can moan in reply. Serena looks at Sartorius with great anger not seen in her before and she says, with a demanding tone, “What have you done to her?!”

“Why young lady I have simply shown her the light as well as begun her on her journey to her destiny.” Sartorius informed the young girl.

“You’re lying! Hotaru already knew her destiny she didn’t need anyone else to tell her what to do! You better pray that you haven’t done anything to her because I know for a fact that one of her guardians is very over protective of her as well as all my friends and I who are all younger then them!” She hissed out in anger.

“Young Lady I have done nothing to hurt your friend. She will awaken refreshed and ready to help me spread my message of peace and justice throughout the world and rid our world of darkness.” Sartorius informed her.

“By forcing your views onto people?” Serena asked.

“No my dear, I simply duel them and allow them to see what the power of the Society of Light has to offer. I assure you that all my opponents join my group of their own free will.” Sartorius said with a cunning smile.

“I don’t like this! I’m picking up evil vibes coming from this creep!” Serena thought to her self as she tried to pull Hotaru away from the, in her opinion, evil man. “I don’t know who you are but I won’t let you have Hotaru!” Serena stated boldly.

“If you feel that strongly that I am forcing my followers into my group as well as your friend than how about we duel ourselves? I promise that if you beat me than your friend Hotaru will be free to decide what she wants to do.” Sartorius suggested.

“Fine, but no funny stuff!” Serena exclaimed as she gently placed Hotaru’s head on the ground and removed her backpack from her back. She then removed a duel disk from her bag and then propped Hotaru’s head up onto the bag.

“I see you come ready to duel like your friend.” Sartorius said with a smug smile.

“I’m always ready to beat bullies into the ground.” Serena hissed as she attached her disk to her arm and removed her deck from a deck holder on the back of her pants and shuffled the deck before placing it her duel disk.

“By the way miss, before we begin, might I suggest an exchange of our names so that we know who it is that we are dueling?” Sartorius asked.

“My name is Serena Tsukino and I’ll make you pay for what you did to Hotaru.” Serena said.

“Ah well Serena, my name is Sartorius Takuma and it is an honor to meet you.” Sartorius said with a slight bow.

“Can the formalities and let’s get to it!” Serena ordered.

“Very well.” He said as she shuffled his own deck.

“Let’s duel!” Serena and Sartorius announce a second later as they each drew five cards from their decks.

“Now, Miss Tsukino, as with Hotaru, I believe I shall allow you to go first.” Sartorius tells Serena with a wicked grin.

Serena replies, with a serious tone, “Fine, Sartorius, but you may regret that decision when this duel is over! I’m no pushover when it comes to dueling.”

Sartorius says, with an evil sly grin, “I would not think of the sort, Serena. However, I do not regret this decision. Destiny dictates our actions and I know my victory is assured.”

Serena retorts, seriously, “We’ll see about that!” Serena draws one card from her deck, and looks over her cards to make the best decision for her first move. Serena puts one card on her duel disk and calls out, “I’ll start things off with my Etoile Cyber in attack mode!” Soon after, Etoile Cyber (1200/1600) comes to the field in attack mode.

When Sartorius sees Serena’s first monster card, he gives an evil sly smile and he tells her, “Very interesting choice, Miss Tsukino. I see that you also use a Cyber Angel deck like a member of my Society. Her name is Alexis Rhodes and she is a powerful female duelist, much like yourself from what I can sense. However, like you, she has seen her destiny and the light. And I know that you will too.”

Serena replies, with a serious tone, “Yeah, I’m sure! Most likely, you brainwashed her into your Society of Light like you did poor Hotaru and both by force!”

“Not at all, my dear. Actually, it was my young protégé, Chazz Princeton, who we also call Sanda, who was the one that helped Miss Rhodes see the light. However, I will admit it was I that helped my protégé see the light in the first place.” Sartorius tells Serena.

Serena gets an angered look in her eyes not seen in her before and she says, annoyed, “Look! Just because your little protégé, who I think you brainwashed into your Society by force, beat this ‘Alexis Rhodes’ doesn’t mean you’ll be able to brainwash me! I’m fighting for others while you are fighting for your own mad plans!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “Miss Tsukino, my ‘mad plans’ as you call them follow the will of destiny. As soon as you will.”

Serena puts two cards in the spell/trap slots and she says, with a serious tone and with a confident smile, “We’ll see about that pal! As much as I would like to bash you for hurting poor Hotaru-chan, I can’t since it is my first turn! I’ll place these two cards face-down and call it at turn!”

Sartorius draws one card from his deck and he says, with a sinister grin, “Why thank you, Miss Tsukino, now, let us sees what short of damage I can do.” Sartorius looks at his hand, puts one card on the table, and he calls out, “First, I shall summon my Arcana Force Seven, The Chariot, in attack mode!” Soon after, Arcana Force VII-The Chariot (1700/1700) appears on the field in attack mode, the card appears the monster’s head, and starts to rotate.

Serena gets a confused look in her eyes and she thinks, perplexed, “What’s going on?! He doesn’t have a duel disk so how can his monsters appear like they’re holograms on the field and what’s with the rotating card above its head?”

Sartorius allows an evil sly grin to pass over his lips and he says, “Confused, my dear? You are wondering why my monster is appearing on the field without a duel disk and the reason for the card rotating above its head.”

Serena yells out, shocked to know what he knew what she was thinking, “How?! How did you know I was thinking that?!”

Sartorius gives an evil sly smile and he says, “It is simple my dear. You see, I have a gift. I can see the future and destiny has already played out this duel! Every move, every card, and I know your moves before you make them!”

Serena thinks in her mind, seriously, “No, he’s lying! Trista is the only one that has the power to see the future in the way that he is claiming and Trista would never use it the way that he’s claiming to use it! Besides Trista told us that we choose our own future since ‘The Future is set in glass and the past is set in stone’.”

Just then another voice enters Serena’s mind and it tells her, telepathically, “Do you really believe that my dear? If what you say is true, wouldn’t your friend, Trista, try to use her power to make destiny conform to her own desires? Or make you believe that the future that you know is what she desires and not what it is truly going to be?”

“No, she would never do those things! Trista knows that messing with the natural order of Time would catastrophic to our universe!” Serena thought with a slight shake of her head.

The voice in Serena’s mind asks her, “Oh, really? Do you really believe that? Do you know her so well? Do you know any of your friends that well? They don’t know the ‘real you’, Serena Tsukino!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with a plain tone, “Miss Tsukino, I would like to get on with this duel, if you please. I know that you are worried about what your friends think about you and what they are truly like, but we are in the middle of duel after all and it is rude to stop mid-game.”

Serena yells out, annoyed, “Fine! Just stay out of my mind! I know what awaits me in the future and it isn’t you!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “As you wish, but when this duel is over, you shall see the light. Now, for the reason as my monster appearing on the field even through I’m not using a duel disk shall remain my secret. Right now, however, you have more important things to be concerned about. Look at the card rotating above my monster’s head.” Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “My monster has two special abilities, but which ability it will have is up to you. My monster has a right side up and upside down ability and you will choose that ability. Tell the card to stop and depending on where it lands, that’s the special ability it will have. Now, I will leave fate and destiny to you. However, Serena, I already know how this duel will end. I have foreseen it.”

Serena thinks in her mind, determinedly, “Okay, I can do this! This is all on luck! I will prove that this jerk doesn’t know what he’s talking about, beat him, and free Hotaru from his evil grasp!” After getting tried of watching it spin, Serena yells out, strongly, “Okay, stop!” The card slows down and stops in the right side up position, which is in favor of Sartorius.

Sartorius gives an evil laugh and he tells Serena, “As you can see, you got to choose the outcome of what my cards will be, but I’m also afraid that I have stated before, destiny and fate are on my side. You see, since The Chariot is right side up, its right side ability is activated! It works in my favor! Since every time my Chariot destroys your monsters in battle, they are special summoned to my side of the field as my own!”

Serena says, worriedly, “Oh no!”

Sartorius says, with an evil sly grin, “Yes! Chariot, destroy her Etoile Cyber right now!” Sartorius’ monster launches a beam of energy at Serena’s Etoile Cyber and Sartorius thinks in his mind, with an evil sly smile on his lips, “And play your trap cards, Doble Passé and Numerous Healer!”

Serena pushes a button on her duel disk and calls out, seriously, “Not so fast, pal! I play my trap card: Doble Passé!” Serena’s face-down card is revealed to be Doble Passé trap card and Serena says, with a serious tone, “Thanks to this card, your attack is turned into a direct attack on me!” The Chariot’s blast redirects to Serena and she yelps out as it hits her costing her 1700 life-points. Serena says, with a sly grin, “And now, the monster that you were going to attack gets to attack you, but first . . . I play this!” Serena pushes a button on her duel disk, her other face-down card is revealed to be her Numerous Healer trap card, and she calls out, seriously, “My Numerous Healer will increase my life-points by one grand since you damaged my life-points!” Serena’s life-points than increase by 1000 and Serena says, with a sly grin, “Plus, by the way, my Etoile Cyber attacks a player directly, it gains five hundred attack points!” Etoile Cyber’s stats rise from 1200/1600 to 1700/1600, it spins around, gracefully slams her right leg into Sartorius’ left shoulder, and he winches as he loses 1700 life-points. Serena tells Sartorius, with a sly grin, “Ha! Did you see that coming pal?!”

Sartorius doesn’t lose his evil sly grin and replies, plainly, “Actually, I did. Well done, your use of those cards shows your expertise as a duelist. Miss Rhodes could not have done better herself. You are indeed a powerful duelist.”

Serena tells Sartorius, a bit annoyed, “Cut the flattery, pal! Make your move!”

Sartorius puts one card in the spell/trap slots on his table and he says, plainly with a evil sly grin, “As you wish. I shall place this face-down and I shall end my turn.”

Serena draws one card from her deck and thinks, seriously, “I don’t get it! I gave him a big hit and all he can do is smile! I don’t like this guy! There is something not right with him! I can feel the evil radiating from him! What will happen if I lose this duel? With me and Hotaru in his hands, as the two strongest Sailor Scouts in the Solar System, he can destroy anything he wants! And I can’t let that happen! Time to duel this duel up a bit!” Serena puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “I play my Pot of Greed! Now, I draw two more cards from my deck!” Serena draws two more cards from her deck, puts one card in the spell/trap slots, and calls out, “Next, I play my Machine Angel Ritual!” Serena discards her Cyber Gymnast (800/1800) monster card in her hand, the Etoile Cyber monster card on her duel disk, puts one card in her hand on her duel disk, and she calls out, “I sacrifice my Gymnast with my Etoile Cyber to summon Cyber Angel Benten in attack mode!” Soon after, Cyber Angel Benten (1800/1500) comes to the field in attack mode. Serena puts one more card in the spell/trap slots and she says, seriously, “But I’m not done, yet, Sartorius! I play my Angel Wing equip spell! With this card, whenever my Angel Benten damages your life-points, you lose another three hundred life-points!” Just then a pair of wings appears behind Cyber Angel Benten as she leaps into the sky.

Sartorius tells Serena, with a evil smile on his lips, “Very good, Miss Tsukino. However, I’m afraid I’ve seen this move already and let me just tell when Miss Rhodes tried to defeat Sanda, she used the same card with Cyber Tutu and it didn’t work so well.”

Serena gets annoyed at his pompous attitude and yells out, annoyed, “We’ll see about that, pal!” Serena thinks in her mind, with a sly grin, “What this jerk doesn’t know is that when my Benten destroys a monster in battle, the value of its defense points are taken out the owner’s life-points! And with Angel Wing, I’ll take out the majority of the rest of his life-points and be closer to save Hotaru!” Serena yells out, seriously, “Now, Angel Benten, attack his monster!” Serena’s Angel Benten moves in to attack Sartorius’ monster with its war fans.

Sartorius flips the card he had face-down on the table and calls out, “I’m sorry, Miss Tsukino. I play my Emperor’s Staff trap card!” Sartorius’ face-down card is revealed to be the Emperor’s Staff trap card and Sartorius says, with an evil sly smile, “Sorry, Miss Tsukino, this card protects all of my other cards, monster, spell, and trap cards, from destruction and it includes my Chariot!”

Serena yells out, stunned, “What?!” Benten’s attack strikes The Chariot, but it isn’t destroyed thanks to Sartorius’ trap card. However, he still loses 100 life-points.

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly smile, “Trying to take out most of my life-points with your Benten’s ability to take my monster’s defense points out of my life-points when it is destroyed, my dear?”

Serena yells out, shocked, “How did you know?!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly smile, “I told you my dear. Destiny is on my side and it is your fate to join my Society of Light along with Miss Tomoe.”

Serena yells out, strongly, “I’ll never join you and I’ll save Hotaru from you! I won’t let you corrupt her!” Serena says, with a serious tone, “You might have saved your monster, but thanks to my Angel Wing, you still lose life-points! Three hundred to be more exact!” Sartorius winches as he glows red and he loses 300 more life-points.

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “Well done. Plus, you should know when I play my Emperor’s Staff trap card, you get something too. You get one card from your deck.”

Serena draws one more card from her deck, puts one card in the spell/trap slots, and she says, seriously, “I’ll place one card face-down and I end my turn!”

Sartorius draws one card from his deck, puts the card on the table, and yells out, with an evil sly tone, “Next, I sacrifice my Chariot to play this! Arcana Force Twelve known as The Hanged Man!” The Chariot vanishes from the field and Arcana Force XII-The Hanged Man (2200/2200) comes to the field in attack mode. The card appears over the monster’s head and starts to rotate above its head. Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “You already know how this works, so, I think it is best for destiny to move along, my dear.”

Serena thinks in her mind, horrified, “What am I going to do?! What if it lands right side up again?! I don’t know what it can do! But I know that I can’t give up! What would my friends think of me if I failed to save Hotaru or myself from this madman?!”

“What do you mean friends? After the way your so called friends treat you day in and day out? Raye practically yells at you none stop and makes fun of you. Lita and Mina are almost always telling you that you need to grow up and be more mature. And as for Amy, even she on occasion gets into the bickering when she keeps telling you that you need to apply yourself to your studies.” The voice said as it reentered her mind.

“Amy’s only trying to get me to be better as are all my friends!” Serena thought to herself.

“Fine be that way, but what of the Outer Scouts?” The Voice asked.

“What about them?” Serena asked the unknown voice.

“They are no different then the Inner Scouts!” the voice stated.

“Yes they are, don’t even go there! They’d never do anything to hurt my feelings.” Serena made her opinion known.

“Oh really, well even if Trista and Hotaru have never treated you like crap, Amara and Michelle did! They didn’t trust you and they in fact fought you after you finally beat Pharaoh 90 along with Sailor Saturn.” the voice reasoned.

“They didn’t trust me because I didn’t believe in the same things they did. They felt that even one life was worth loosing to preserve the entire planet. And as for the fight after Pharaoh 90, they were simply testing me to see if I was worthy to lead them. I won that battle as well as they loyalty.” Serena hissed silently.

“Fine believe what you want, but trust me, you’d be better off giving into Sartorius!” the voice stated.

As Serena continues to see the card rotate above Sartorius’ monster, the possibilities of what could happen play through her mind, and she thinks, “I don’t like this! I have no way of knowing what this monsters ability are. If I lose this duel, I’ll end up being brainwashed into his group like Darien was brainwashed into Beryl’s Dark Kingdom! But if I surrender the same thing could happen because that would still mean that he would win. What ever happens I have to choose to make sure he can’t end up with the power of my Imperium Silver Crystal! I’ll have to send it to Trista in order to keep it safe and out of my hands until the others can free Hotaru and I!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “Are you thinking about something important, my dear?”

Serena says, seriously and annoyed tone in her voice, “Fine! Hold your horses!” Serena calls out, seriously, “Okay, stop!” The card slows down, stops in the upside down position, and Serena yells out, excitedly, “Yes! It is upside down this time! Since right side up is good for you, upside down must be good for me!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “I’m afraid not, Miss Tsukino. When The Hanged Man is upside down, I get to destroy one of your monsters and you lose life-points equal to its attack points!”

Serena yells out, flabbergasted, “No way! You’ve got be cheating!”

Sartorius says, with an evil sly grin, “Certainly not, Miss Tsukino! This is destiny, my dear!” Just then Cyber Angel Benten explodes and Serena yells out in shock while she loses 1800 life-points.

Serena draws one card from her deck and she exclaims, seriously, “Since Benten had Angel Wing equipped, it’s ability activates, giving me one more card!”

Sartorius says, with an evil sly smile, “Good work, but not good enough, my dear! Hanged Man, attack her directly!” Sartorius’ monsters fires a beam of white energy from its tentacles right at Serena.

Serena pushes a button on her duel disk and calls out, seriously, “I don’t think so, pal! I play my trap! Hallowed Life Barrier!” Serena’s face-down card is revealed to be the Hallowed Life Barrier trap card, Serena discards one card from her hand, and she says, with a sly grin, “Sorry, pal, but thanks to this card, all I need to do is discard one card from my hand and all damage to me goes to zero for this turn!” Just then a trio of maiden appear in front of Serena and negate the attack with a barrier.

Sartorius puts two cards face-down on the table and he says, with an evil sly smile, “Well played. I shall end with these.”

Serena draws one card from her deck, puts the card in the spell/trap slots, and yells out, “I play my Card of Sanctity! Now, both of us must draw until we have six cards in our hands!” Sartorius and Serena draw until they have six cards in their hands, Serena puts one card on her duel disk and calls out, “Now, I play my Lord of Dragons in defense mode!” Soon after, Lord of Dragons (1200/1100) comes to the field in defense mode. Serena then puts one card in the spell/trap slots and yells out, “Next, I play my Flute of Summoning Dragon! With Lord of Dragons on the field, I can use this spell to play two dragons from my hand!” Serena puts two cards on her duel disk and calls out, “And I choose to summon my Blue-Eyes White Dragons to the field!” Soon after, two Blue-Eyes White Dragons (3000/2500 X 2) come to the field in attack mode.

Sartorius says, with an evil sly smile, “Interesting. You have the legendary dragons that the famed Seto Kaiba uses. I was indeed correct about you. You are a powerful duelist to weld those mighty beasts.”

Serena says, with a serious tone while putting one card in the spell/trap slots, “Flattery isn’t going to get anyway, pal! Now, I play Monster Reborn to summon my third Blue-Eyes back from the graveyard!” Soon after, a third Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000/2500) comes to the field in attack mode.

Sartorius says, with an evil sly grin, “Put there my Hallowed Life Barrier and now, you are going to use your Polymerization spell card, the last card in your hand to summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.”

Serena yelps in shock, the last card in her hand is a Polymerization spell card, and she says, after she shakes her head and in a serious tone, “Fine! But your head games won’t get to me! I play Polymerization! I fuse my three Blue-Eyes White Dragons together to form my strongest monster!” Soon after, the three Blue-Eyes White Dragons go into a fusion vortex, Serena takes out a fusion monster card from her fusion deck, puts it on her duel disk, and calls out, “Come on out, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!” Out of the fusion vortex, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (4500/3800) comes to the field in attack mode. Serena yells out, seriously, “Ultimate Dragon, destroy his freaky monster and end this duel! Neutron Blast!” Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon fires a beam of lightning energy at The Hanged Man.

Sartorius flips one of the cards on the table and he says, with a plain tone and an evil smile, “I’m sorry, my dear, but I play my Emergency Provisions spell card! With this card, just by sacrificing my other face-down card, I regain one thousand life-points!” Sartorius puts the other card face-down on the table into his graveyard, his life-points increase by 1000, and Ultimate Dragon’s attack hits The Hangman, costing Sartorius 2300 life-points, but he doesn’t lose his grin.

Serena tells Sartorius, with a serious tone, “Okay, you might have saved yourself, but with my Ultimate Dragon protected by my Lord of Dragons, you can’t touch it with your spell, trap, and monster effects!”

Sartorius says, drawing one card from his deck, “Indeed, Miss Tsukino. However, I know of a way to get around that.” Sartorius puts one card on his table and says, with an evil smile, “I play my Cost Down spell card! By discarding one card from my hand, all monsters in my hand are lowered in level by two stars, making them easier to summon!” Sartorius discards one card from his hand, puts one more card on the table, and calls out, with an evil sly smile, “And that will help when I play my Necro Sacrifice spell card! I remove Arcana Force monsters from my graveyard and summon them to your side of the field. Then based on the numbers of monster I gave you, I can summon one Arcana Force monster from my hand without sacrificing any monsters on my field. If I give you one monster, I can summon a five or six star monster and if I give you two, I can summon one seven or eight star monster!”

Serena thinks in her mind, worriedly, “But since he lowered the level of the monsters in his hand, he won’t have to sacrifice many monsters from his grave to summon his more powerful cards! This isn’t good!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil smile, “You are correct to think that this doesn’t work in your favor! Like I said before, fate determines all of our actions and it is your destiny to lose! However, I’ve taken plenty of your time, so, I will move things along! I shall give you my Chariot!” Just then a beam of light comes from Sartorius’ graveyard pile, turns into a card on Serena’s duel disk, and Arcana Force VII-The Chariot (1700/1700) comes to Serena’s side of the field. Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “However, my card allows you to chose the position of the monster I gave you.”

Serena yells out, seriously, “Defense mode!” The Chariot goes into defense mode and the card appears above the monster’s head.

Sartorius says, with an evil sly grin, “How boring, but don’t believe that I didn’t see that coming.”

As the card rotates above The Chariot’s head, Serena thinks in her mind, “If it lands right side up, I can use its ability, but what happens when it lands upside down?!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “Wondering about its upside down ability, Miss Tsukino? Well, you are about to find out!” Sartorius calls out, “Stop! Right there!” The card lands in the upside down position, much to Serena’s distain.

Serena yells out, in disbelief, “Come on, here!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “I told you before, Miss Tsukino, it is your destiny to lose this duel! Now, with The Chariot upside down, when it is destroyed in battle, I get it back to my side of the field!” Sartorius says, with a sly grin, “And thanks to my two spell card, I get to summon this!” Sartorius puts a card on the table and yells out, “I summon Arcana Force Eighteen known as The Moon!” Soon after, Arcana Force XVIII-The Moon (2800/2800) comes to the field in attack mode and the card starts to rotate above its head. Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil smile, “You know what to do, Serena.”

Serena calls out, annoyed, “I know! I know!” Serena thinks in her mind, worriedly, “Please! Please! Please don’t land right side up, again! Please!” Serena then exclaims, after awhile, “Stop!” The card slows down to the upside down position, but then goes to the right side up position. Serena yells out, stunned, “No! Not again!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “Yes, my dear! And this is card that will ensure my victory over you and it is quite appropriate.”

Serena asks, seriously, “And why is that?”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil smile on his lips, “Simple, my dear. The Moon represents purity and the light within the darkness. This card represents you.”

Serena yells out, weird out by that statement, “Me?! Don’t compare me to that freaky card?!”

Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil smile, “When you see the light, my dear. You shall believe. Trust me.” Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil smile, “Since The Moon is right side up, I will get a surprise later in the duel. However, for the moment, it shall attack my Chariot!” The Moon launches a shockwave at The Chariot, destroying it, but Serena doesn’t lose any life-points since it is defense mode. Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “And since it was upside down, it comes back to my side of the field!” Arcana Force VII-The Chariot (1700/1700) reappears on Sartorius’ side of the field in defense mode and the card over its head starts to rotate. Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil smile, “Go ahead, my dear. Even through it will land in your favor this time, it will not matter.”

Serena says, with a strong tone, “We will see about that! Stop!” The card then stops down at the upside down position.

Sartorius puts one card face-down on the table and he says, “I shall end with this card face-down.”

Serena draws one card from her deck and calls out, seriously, “Finally!” Serena doesn’t look at the card in her hand and thinks in her mind, seriously, “He left his monster in attack mode, knowing my dragon can easily blow it away! But he does have one face-down card! Is it trap?! So, far, all of those freak cards haven’t been going my way and he’s been predicting my every move! Could it be true?! Can he see the future? No! No! NO! I can’t believe that! He is just messing up my head!”

Sartorius asks Serena, with a plain tone and an evil sly smile, “Is there something wrong, Miss Tsukino?”

Serena thinks in her mind, seriously, “I can’t let him get to me! Even if that card is a trap, it can’t effect my dragon! I’ve still got my Lord of Dragons on the field! I’ve got to take this chance to save Hotaru-chan!” Serena yells out, strongly, “Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, take out his monster! Neutron Blast!” Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragons fires its attack right The Moon.

Sartorius flips the card face-down on the table face up and he says, with an evil sly grin, “I’m afraid that you have fallen into my trap!” The card face-down is revealed to be a trap card with a mirror displays a picture of a tower and Sartorius says, with an evil sly grin, “It is my Mirror Tower Defense trap card! When one of my Arcana Force monsters is attacked, I can play it! This card negates your monsters attack and then you lose life-points equal to the points of the monster that you were going to attack! Plus, this trap card can’t be stopped by your monster’s effects no matter what! And all I need to do to use this card is discard one card from my hand!”

Serena yells out, stunned and in total disbelief knowing what this means, “It can’t be!”

Sartorius discards one card from his hand and Sartorius tells Serena, with an evil sly grin, “I told you that my Moon shall lead to your defeat, my dear! And I know since destiny made it out to be! Now, prepare to see the light!” Just then a huge mirror appears in front of The Moon, giving off its reflection, and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’s attack slams into the mirror causing a reflection to be sent right at Serena. The reflected attack is sent right back into Serena causing her to scream out as she loses 2800 life-points, ending the duel.

In her mind, as it starts to turn white and her eyes begin to become dull and lifeless, Serena thinks in her mind, weakly, “Girls . . . Darien . . . I’m so sorry . . . I . . . I tried my best . . . But he won’t get the crystal . . . I’ll send to Trista . . . Hurry . . . before it is too late . . .” Soon after, a silver light comes out of Serena’s sub-space pocket and shoots off into the sky before vanishing. Serena thinks in her mind, before her world completely goes white, “. . . I love you all . . . I’m counting on you . . . DARIEN . . . GIRLS . . .!!” Soon after, Serena’s eyes become totally dull and lifeless as she closes them and collapses to the ground.

Final Score:

Serena: 0

As the final holograms fade away, Serena collapses to the ground on her back, unconsciousness, the last card in her hand falls to the ground, and the card is revealed to be the Mystical Space Typhoon Quick-Spell card.

Sartorius gets to his feet, goes over to the fallen Moon Princess, and thinks in his mind, with an evil smile, “I knew it! She is a Chosen Duelist! She had drawn the card that she needed that could have won her the duel, but destiny made sure that she didn’t focus enough in order to use it! I can sense her great power and she could be the key to finally brining Jaden Yuki into the light!” Sartorius looks up into the sky and thinks in his mind, seriously, “However, I wonder what that mysterious silver light from Miss Tsukino’s pocket was! I believe it was connected to her powers. No matter, she is mine now and that power that left will find its way back to her and to me in time! Now, it is time to awaken my newest followers and they shall become my greatest warriors of the Light!” Sartorius gives an evil sadistic and sly grin from his lips at his looks at the fallen Moon Princess and Soldier of Saturn.

(A Few minutes earlier at the Outer Scout’s Mansion)

Unaware of what has happened to both Hotaru and Serena, the other three Outer Scouts are sitting around the Living room of their mansion just enjoying a relaxing day free of any fighting. Trista was sitting in a lounge chair reading a good book while both Amara and Michelle were sitting on the couch watching a romantic movie. Amara had her right arm around Michelle’s shoulder while Michelle was resting her had on Amara’s shoulder.

“It sure has been quiet ever since Serena was able to defeat Galaxia.” Michelle said allowing a sigh to pass her lips.

“Yeah, but I get the feeling that something else is out there just waiting to strike out against us and the world.” Amara agreed with a slight nod of her head.

“What do you think, Trista?” Michelle asked raising her head off of Amara’s shoulder so she could look over at the oldest of their group.

Trista put down her book making sure to mark the place she had gotten to and looked over at the two on the couch.

“I’m not really sure! Ever since Serenity-sama defeated Galaxia-sama, the Gates have gone into my Key Staff making it easy for me to keep them locket from letting outsiders through them so I have been able to remain here in real time. I don’t know what’s going to happen at the moment or if anything will happen at all!” Trista said as best she could.

No sooner had she said that then all of a sudden, a telepathic message passed over the three Outer Scouts.

“Girls . . . Darien . . . I’m so sorry . . . I . . . I tried my best . . . But he won’t get the crystal . . . I’ll send to Trista . . . Hurry . . . before it is too late. . . I love you all . . . I’m counting on you . . . DARIEN . . . GIRLS . . .!!” The pained voice of their friend and leader known to them as Princess Serenity in their past life, as well as Serena Tsukino and Sailor Moon in their present life sent chills down their backs. Suddenly a bright flash of light filled the room almost blinding the three Outer Scouts.

“What’s going on?!” Michelle cried out as the light hurt her eyes.

“I’m not sure, but if this light doesn’t go away soon, we’re all going to go blind!” Amara winced at the power of the light blaring in her eyes.

“Don‘t worry ladies, I think I know what this is!” Trista stated as she held a hand over her eyes to try and block out the light.

Almost as suddenly, the light dimmed and when ladies removed their hands from their eyes, they saw the Imperium Silver Crystal softly pulsing a soft light as it floated before Trista.

“Why was Kitten in so much pain when she sent us that telepathic message?” Amara asked worriedly.

“I’m afraid it would appear that yet another enemy bent on world domination has reared it’s ugly head and this time it has taken two of our own and turned them against us. That much I do known.” Trista informed her.

“Yes, but this time, Firefly and Serena aren’t trying to find a weakness in the enemy and making us all believe that they betrayed us like Amara and I did during the whole Galaxia fight.” Michelle said looking crestfallen.

“Which means we’ve got to find a way to free Kitten and Firefly and beat the crap out of this pig who ever they maybe!” Amara hissed.

“And we will girls! Michelle it is time that you got past the whole Galaxia fight, because Serenity-hime already forgave both you and Amara for that whole incident. I for one am just glad that Serenity had enough self-control to send the Imperium Silver Crystal here so that who ever took Firefly and herself won’t be able to use it.” Trista said with a smile.

“She’s a lot smarter then we give her credit for that‘s for sure.” Amara said with a proud smile on her lips.

“Oh, she’s always been smarter then any of the rest of you girls known, but she could never hide that knowledge from me. I just choose to keep her secret because, I knew it was her secret to tell. I’m just worried that whoever has Serena under their control might have used the way the Inner Scouts treated her against her in order to gain control over her. At least she had the will power to send me the crystal so it would be in safe hands and out of our enemy’s hands. Don’t worry, Serenity-hime, we will free you and firefly and make who ever took you pay!” Trista thought as a sudden flash of anger never seen on the Time Guardian’s face briefly flashed over her features.

“Are you okay Trista?” Michelle asked when she noticed, the oldest of them in deep thought.

“I will be once we retrieve both Firefly and Serenity!” Trista stated with a nod.

“Don’t worry, Trista! We’ll get them back, and we’ll make who ever took them pay for this, too!” Amara exclaimed as she pounded her fists together in a show of anger.

“I know we will but first, we must get a hold of the Inner Scouts as well as Prince Endymon! No doubt, they too would have heard Serenity’s anguished ply so we’ll need to have Raye do a fire reading in order to learn who our new enemy is and where he or she has our friends.” Trista informed them.

“Right, I’ll go warm up the car!” Amara stated as she unwrapped her arm from Michelle’s shoulders and got up off the couch and headed for the garage.

“I’ll call the girls.” Michelle said as she got off the couch and walked over to the phone.

“And I’ll go wait in the car with Amara!” Trista stated as she turned to go after Amara.

With that the three remaining Outer Scouts set about getting ready to have an impromptu meeting with the Inner Scouts and Tuxedo Mask.

(Elsewhere at Cherry Hill Temple a few minutes earlier)

Over at the Cherry Hill Temple, home of Raye Hino and Her grandfather as well as an annoying work hand known as Chad Firestone who had shown up on the temple steps a few years ago, four girls as well as a young man in his early twenties and two cats sat in Raye’s room just hanging out and having a good time. This group was known as the Inner Sailor Scouts as well as their protector Tuxedo Mask and their Guardian cats. Today they were just having a impromptu get together swapping stories of what they had done for the day and going over any future plans that they may have. As usual, Raye was angry due to the fact that a certain meat-ball head as she called their friend and leader hadn’t shown up yet.

“Where in the hell is that stupid girl? She knew we were getting together today!” Raye fumed.

Amy let a sigh pass her lips as she placed the book she was reading at the moment down on the table and stared up at Raye with a steely glare and said, “Raye would you claim down and watch you language! Serena already called me this morning and told me that she was going to spend the afternoon over at the park with Hotaru!”

“Why didn’t you say anything, Amy?” Mina asked looking up from a Manga she had been reading.

“It simply just slipped my mind guys, honestly.” Amy said with a slight blush gracing her cheeks.

“It’s alright, Amy, everyone makes mistakes at one time or another. At least we know she’s safe.” Darien said with a soft smile.

No sooner had his words left his mouth, did a telepathic message pass over the small group of friends. “Girls . . . Darien . . . I’m so sorry . . . I . . . I tried my best . . . But he won’t get the crystal . . . I’ll send to Trista . . . Hurry . . . before it is too late. . . I love you all . . . I’m counting on you . . . DARIEN . . . GIRLS . . .!!” The pained telepathic voice of Serena caused the girls in the room to panic. One, the one hand they were glad that who ever got their hands on Serena wouldn’t be able to get the Imperium Silver Crystal, but on the other, she was still their friend and they were worried about her. Meanwhile, Darien who was also just as worried about his ‘Rena’ placed a hand over his heart and tried to reach out to her thought their link.

“Serena please tell me what happened and where are you?!”, Darien thought only to find that he couldn’t get through to her due to the fact that their link was cut. “What’s going on? Why can’t I get through to her? Something really bad must have happened for her to cut our link. I know she’s not dead because I would have felt her die through our link before it was cut so that not it. She must have had a reason to do it. I just pray that what ever the reason, we can save her before it’s too late.”, He thought to himself.

“Darien are you okay?” Mina asked concern evident in her voice.

“I’m fine, but for some reason, my link with Serena has been cut off.” Darien said the worry and anger at the person that got their hands on Serena showing on his face.

“What do you think happened?” Lita asked anger also showing in her voice.

“I would say that the person who took Serena has some kind of plan for her seeing as Darien said he knows she’s not dead. This should suggest that sooner or later we’ll find Serena, but what her state of being will be, I’m not sure.” Amy informed the others.

“Do you think this person also got their hands on Hotaru due to the fact that Amy said Serena was going to meet her?” Raye asked.

“If he did, then heaven help us all because now he’s got the power to destroy whole planets or the universe if he wanted to.” Amy said.

“What are we going to do then? We can’t leave Hotaru and Serena in that madman’s clutches!” Mina stated with urgency.

“First, I would suggest you all calm down!” Artemis exclaimed.

“Might I suggest that Raye do a fire reading to see if we can learn anything about this new enemy that has taken our friends?” Luna suggested.

“Good idea! You guys stay here and I’ll be back in a few minutes!” Raye stated as she got up and left the room.

A few seconds later, Raye entered the fire room and sat down in front of the fire.

“Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Spirit! Please Great Fire, show me who has our friends in their evil grasp!” Raye chanted as she went through the hand signals as well as going into a meditative state.

Soon she got a picture in the fire. In it she saw a man with lavender hair with a mesh of white at the center of his hair on top of his head. The man’s cat-like yet sinister looking eyes with an equally sinister smile on his lips. He was standing over what looked like the Earth leering down at it with his hands on either side of it. What she also saw made her skin crawl and made her hair stand on end. Standing on either side of the globe and the man were Serena and Hotaru, they were both wearing completely white uniforms with dull emotionless eyes and those eyes were all staring out towards her. Then the scene changed to show a picture of a school on an island where teenagers were learning how to be better duel monster players. After that, the fire died down and the vision disappeared.

As Raye came out of her mediation she thought, “This isn’t good! I’ve got to tell the others what I saw and where I think we’ll find the girls. I just hope we can help them, because from what I saw, they don’t seem to even be emotionally there.”

She then ran out of the room and headed toward her room to inform the others of her vision when suddenly, the phone in the front room rang. Raye headed over to the phone to quickly see who was calling so she could as if she could call them back a little while later. When she answered the phone, she found out that Michelle was on the other end.

“Hey Michelle what can I do for you?” Raye asked.

“Raye, I’m not sure if you know yet or not, but something’s happened to Firefly and the princess.” Michelle informed her.

“Yes, we already know. I’ve already done a fire reading at Luna’s request to see if we could learn anything else, and I saw a man with lavender hair with a mesh of white at the center of it. He had a look of evilness in him and he was standing over the Earth with his hands on either side. What has me really scared though is that I also saw Serena and Hotaru standing next to him wearing completely white uniforms with emotionless eyes and faces. I couldn’t get a sense of their real personalities from them what-so-ever. I then saw where I think we might find them before the fire died down and the vision disappeared. I was just about to tell the others when you called.” Raye informed the older girl of her findings.

“Alright, we’ll be right over! Don’t worry, Raye. We’ll find a way to free them and stop this madman!” Michelle stated.

“I hope so.” Raye said before both she got off the phone with Michelle.

She then headed towards her room to inform the others not only what she saw, but that the Outer Scouts were on their way to join them.

Next time in Chapter 2: Assembly and Prelude to War: The last three Outer Scouts show up at Cherry Hill Temple and the plans for saving their friends is put into motion. Meanwhile, at Duel Academy Island, with the help of the newly brainwashed Serena Tsukino, and Hotaru Tomoe, Sartorius begins to realize his dreams even faster as both girls help to brainwash even more students including more friends of Jaden Yuki. Also a mysterious new Sailor Scout shows up on the island and does reconnaissance while she waits for the other Moon Kingdom scouts to arrive on the island. When the scouts do arrive, they don’t arrive alone as the Digidestined of Odiaba also arrives to go to school here and become better duelists. What will happen when Sartorius orders Alexis, Serena and Hotaru to go and make the new arrivals part of the Society of Light? And what will the Scouts think once they see both of their friends turn a couple of brainwashed, cold, and heartless soldier of Sartorius’ evil? Find out next time on The Joining of Heroes!

Well, that’s it for my first chapter! I had a lot of fun doing it as well as a lot of help!
