Chapter 2: Assembly and Prelude to War

Thirty minutes after the phone call from Michelle, the Scouts were now all sitting around Raye's room along with Darien and the two cat guardians going over what they knew so far about what had happened to both Serena and Hotaru and who had them.

“Okay so we all know for sure that something bad has happened to Serena due to the fact that we all heard her telepathic message and the fact that she sent Trista the Imperium Silver Crystal. We also agree that whatever happened to Serena also happened to Hotaru right?” Raye asked looking around the room.

“What I'd like to know is how this person got their freaking hands on Kitten and Firefly?!” Amara hissed as she slammed her fist into the table.

“Amara's right! We all know that if they were together, that they'd protect each other and keep themselves from being taken by force.” Mina said.

“But what if this person did something that caused them to go with him or her willingly?” Lita asked.

“That could be associated with what I saw in the fire and what I already shared with Michelle over the phone.” Raye said.

“What did you see, Raye?” Amy asked intrigued.

“As I told Michelle, I saw this strange man with lavender hair with a mesh of white hair just above his forehead who had sinister eyes as well as a sinister grin on his face. He was standing over a globe of the Earth with either hand on each side of the globe. What I also saw sent shivers down my spine and my hairs on the back of my neck to stand on end.” Raye said as worry suddenly crossed her features.

“Go on, Raye, what did you see?” Luna asked prodding the Scout of Fire to continue.

“I saw both Serena and Hotaru standing a little ahead of the man and the globe, both wearing completely white uniforms. They also had dull emotionless looks in their eyes and straight faces as they stared right at me. Then the picture changed and I saw what appeared to be an academy of some sort before the fire died down.” Raye informed the others.

“What does it all mean?” Mina asked.

“I believe what Raye means, is that both Hotaru and Serena are now against us and not of their own free will.” Michelle offered.

“That would mean that they're both in the same predicament that I was in when Queen Beryl brainwashed me, but what I don't understand is how he did it or why Serena cut off our bond the way she did if she's still alive!” Darien stated.

“I believe I may know the answer to at least one of those questions, your highness!” Artemis spoke up.

“What are you thinking Artemis?” Luna asked turning to look at her counterpart.

“I believe that the Princess may have cut her bond with Darien so that who ever took her and Hotaru couldn't use their link to control him as well.” Artemis said.

“I believe Artemis is correct in his assumption.” Trista agreed.

“Then what in the world are we going to do? We don't even know if that academy is where they are if that's what Raye's vision meant?” Amara asked.

“Yeah we still don't know what we're dealing with here!” Lita added.

“I believe I will be able to help you in that particular instance!” A voice stated in their minds before a miniature version of a beautiful woman appeared in the room and floated down to the table in the middle of the room.

“Queen Serenity!” The humans in the room exclaimed in shock.

“Your majesty!” The two cats also exclaimed in equal shock.

“Hello everyone.” Queen Serenity said with a smile on her face.

“My queen, what is it that you can tell us about our new enemy?” Trista asked respectfully.

“The person who has both my daughter and the Scout of Saturn has the power of the 'Light of Ruin' behind him! He is using it to brainwash others into his group which he calls the 'Society of Light'. You must all go to that Academy which Sailor Mars saw in her vision for you will find not only my daughter and Hotaru, but you will find the 'Light of Ruin' as well. Now listen to me everyone! You must all go to the Odaiba district today. There you will need to take an entrance exam in order to go to the Academy. I believe Amy, Lita, Mina and Raye will need to do this while Amara, Michelle, Trista and Darien become teachers at the school. Now listen to me everyone, while you're all at this academy, you will meet new allies there. You will also meet enemies that will not only be from your past but also from your allies past. I must also stress, that there will be allies that look like enemies and enemies that look like allies. Be careful on who you trust and who you don't trust. This is all the information I can pass along to you, but don't worry, Trista will fill you in more on what I have told you. Good bye for now my children and be brave, I have every confidence in you all!” Queen Serenity said before she disappeared.

“What did she mean that you could explain more on this 'Light of Ruin' she was talking about, Trista?” Amara asked turning her attention to the oldest of the group.

“What Queen Serenity meant was that I know a lot more about this 'Light of Ruin' then even she knows.” Trista said.

“Will you tell us what you know Trista?” Amy asked.

“Yes, every little bit might help us understand our enemy better and find a way to free both Serena and Hotaru from this man's grasp.” Michelle added.

“Very well, but I must stress do not disturb me while I convey upon you all the vast knowledge I have on this 'Light of Ruin' understand!” Trista order to which everyone in the room nodded. “Alright then, the story behind the 'Light of Ruin' dates back to the dawn of time. It is also known as The Wave or Surge of Light. It is known as that because it is the only power that can use light for evil purposes which could cause great destruction anywhere in the universe. Now it is said that an evil power created it millions of years ago, even before the Moon Kingdom, the planetary kingdoms, and the Silver Alliance. As you could tell from the queen's words, both Queen Serenity and I knew it well. The Surge of Light was created when a white hole released the dark matter of a black hole and the Surge of Light came out of that hole. The Surge of Light is an evil and impure light filled with the negative forces of the universe. Throughout the history of Earth and especially mankind, the Surge of Light has bombarded the planet, causing wars, disasters, crimes, and dictatorship, which in turn causes great tragedy. It's only purpose in the universe is to upset the balance of Life by destroying the darkness in the universe. That's one of the reasons it is sometimes also called `The Light of Ruin'.”

“If it's that evil then how do we free our friends?” Lita asked.

“Well, if they're at the Duel Academy, wouldn't it stand to reason that if we either duel our friends or this man who controls the 'Light of Ruin' we might be able to free Serena and Hotaru as well as who ever else he controls in that group of his?” Amy asked.

“I'm afraid it won't be that easy Amy! This person that Raye saw in her vision from the Great Fire must be the Avatar for the `Light of Ruin' and the power of this `evil light' is create. Since it is a light, even through part of the negative forces, it can create the illusion of good and brainwash and corrupt people.”

“You mean to tell me that even though this man forced both Serena and Hotaru into his group by brainwashing them, that now they believe that they're still doing good for the world?” Darien asked, anger in his eyes.

“This stinks! What are we going to do to free them then?” Lita asked.

“As I was saying, there is a way to stop him; however, it is difficult and complicated. You see, light and darkness are the two forces of Life itself. One cannot live without the other. If darkness destroys light, then darkness will die along with all life. If light destroys darkness, then the light will die with all other life. Darkness and Light can be used by good or evil. It is only a myth that light is used by the positive forces and darkness by the negative forces. In order to defeat this power, we need the opposite of light to defeat this enemy: Darkness.”

“And in that lays the problem! The rest of us don't use complete Dark decks! My deck is a thunder deck, I know Raye has a Fire deck, Amy has a water deck, which I assume Michelle also uses.” Lita began to which everyone she named nodded their heads. Lita then continued with her course of thinking, “Mina uses a Fairy deck, Darien if I'm right uses an Earth deck, Amara if I'm right uses a wind deck, Hotaru uses a Dark deck, Trista uses a Spellcaster deck if I'm right” Lita stopped again to make sure everyone was with her until she finished with, “and Serena uses a Cyber Angel/Dragon deck!”

“WHAT!” Almost everyone in the room exclaimed in shock.

“Since when did Meat-ball head play Duel Monsters?” Raye asked with a look of not believing a word Lita just said about Serena playing.

“As far as I know, since we've met her.” Lita said.

“She's been able to hide a lot about herself then.” Raye mumbled.

“There is a lot you don't know about Serena girls!” Trista said giving Raye a disapproving look.

“What?” Raye asked acting like she did nothing wrong.

“I am the Time Guardian, am I not? I know things about each of you that would make your friends give you all a second look! As for Serena, did it ever occur to all of you that the person Serena shows us isn't who she really is?” Trista said.

“What are you talking about Trista?” Darien asked.

“The Serena that none of you really know is very smart, almost as smart as our dear Amy is. When Serena was very young she was bullied beyond content and boys would on occasion beat her up just for being smart. So she began to act stupid in front of her friends and other adults. She made a deal with her schools so she could keep up the act and yet still keep her grade point average where it has always been, an A student. When Luna found her, Serena knew that if she acted more mature both as Sailor Moon and as her civilian form, that our enemies could find her and use her against us. So she kept up the act and played the ditz, dumb and klutzy teenager who always scarfed down her food. I know for a fact that Serena is a great duelist so in order to beat both her and Hotaru, this man must have used their pasts against them. For Serena, it would have been how we treated her and I do mean all of us!” Trista said as she stared down each and every person in the room.

“Man talk about an eye opener!” Lita said staring down at the table.

“No kidding!” Amara added.

“Well then, I don't know about the rest of you but Hotaru and 'Rena' need help and I'm not going to stand by and watch as the woman I love is forced to turn more people into mindless zombies who all believe they're doing the world a favor by turning people towards that guys sick and twisted beliefs. If you're coming, I'll see you all in Odaiba!” Darien said as he got up and left the room.

“Hey, wait for me! I'm going too!” Amy exclaimed as she jumped to her feet and ran out the door.

“Well, I guess that means the meeting's over! Hey, guys hold up! I'm coming too!” Lita yelled as she to jump to her feet and left the room.

“Oh no you don't! I'm not being left behind when two of our friends are being mind warped!” Mina exclaimed as she too jumped to her feet and left the room.

“Fine! I'm coming too! Might as well! Can't let the others have all the fun!” Raye sighed as she got up and walked out the door following after the other.

“Well then shall we?” Amara asked with a smirk on her face as she stood up and offered a hand to Michelle.

“I believe we shall.” Michelle said with a warm smile.

“Yes, someone has got to keep the Inner Scouts on their toes.” Trista said as she got up off the ground and together, the three of them left to room to follow after the Inner Scouts.

“I swear! This is going to be a long day!” Luna exclaimed exasperated.

“I totally agree with you Luna!” Artemis stated with a nod of his head as they too left the room and followed their charges.

(The Kamiya's Apartment located in the Odaiba district)

Elsewhere in the city, in the Odaiba district to be exact, a group of twelve teenagers: one thirteen year old, four fifteen year olds, two sixteen year olds, four seventeen year olds, and one eighteen year old were all together at the Kamiya apartment where they were discussing an event that was taking place that same day in the Odaiba Stadium.

“Man I can't believe we've all gotten an invitation to go to the Duel Academy!” Jun gushed as she held up a brochure for the Academy Exams being held at the stadium today.

“Well don't think its going to be that easy sis'! First, we'll have to pass the entrance exams at Odaiba stadium.” Davis said a bit of concern in his voice.

“What's the matter Davis-kun? I know you've got a powerful Elemental Hero Deck that can wipe the floor with any of those other duelist out there.” Kari said with a smile.

“Thanks, Kari.” Davis said as a blush crept up his face.

“I'm just glad that I can go, too! I was shocked when I learned that I had won a contest last month that gave me a scholarship to go with the rest of you guys.” Cody said with happy tears glistening in his eyes.

“Hey Cody, We're glad you're going, too! After all, it wouldn't be fun if we had to leave one of our own behind.” T.K. said patting Cody on the back.

“T.K.'s right, Cody, We wouldn't be a team in everything we do if we left the youngest of our group behind.” Yolei said with a smile.

“So does everyone have your decks ready?” Tai asked with a serious look in his eyes.

“Got mine right here!” Matt exclaimed as he held up his Cyber Dragon deck.

“Mine too!” Sora stated with a smile as she held up her fire deck.

“I always come prepared.” Izzy said as he held up his Machine deck.

“I have mine.” Mimi said with a smile as she help up her Plant deck.

“Me too.” Joe said as he held up his water deck.

“I've got mine ready to go!” T.K. stated as he held up his Fairy/Archlord deck.

“I have mine right here, Tai.” Kari said as she held up her Spellcaster/Angel deck.

“Never leave the house without it!” Davis smiled as he held up his Elemental Hero deck.

“I like to duel against Davis from time to time to keep up my dueling skills when I'm not going to tournaments so yeah I've got mine too!” Ken said as he held up his Insect deck.

“I have mine as well!” Yolei stated as she held up her Amazon and Harpies combo deck.

“I've also got mine, Tai.” Cody said as he held up his Warrior deck.

“I also remembered to bring mine to this little party too!” Jun stated with a gleeful smile as she held up her Crystal Beast deck.

“And I have mine too!” Tai stated as he too held up a Warrior deck for all to see.

“Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's get this party on the road and get our ass' over to the stadium so we can pass our entrance exams!” Matt exclaimed as he threw a fist up into the air.

“Yeah!” The others exclaimed in jubilation before the entire group ran out of the apartment to meet their destiny. A destiny that would split some off from the group and would take a great many friends to help reunite friends from three groups of Heroes.

(Entrance Exams for Duel Academy)

Half an hour later the Digidestined children along with Jun arrived at the Stadium ready to duel their way into the Academy. When they went into the building, they saw three young men standing off to the side chatting with each other. One of the men, who was the tallest of the three, had long platinum hair that went down to his mid-back that he had tied in a low ponytail at the nap of his neck. He was wearing a pair of grey slacks with a black long sleeved shirt and a grey jacket draped over his left shoulder. The next man in the group was a few inches shorter then the first man with shoulder length brown hair. He was wearing forest green slacks with a black long sleeved shirt and a forest green jacket draped over his right shoulder. The last man in the group was shorter then the others looking like he was in his late teens. He had long reddish blonde hair that was tied in a low ponytail at the nap of his neck like the first man. He was wearing a pair of dark blue slacks and a dark blue jacket with what looked like a black shirt underneath. As they were chatting, the three men were shuffling their decks that were in their hands. To the Digidestined, it looked like they maybe talking strategy with each other. Turning their attention away from the three men, the Digidestined made their way over to the check in desk.

“Yes, may I help you?” The man behind the deck asked with a polite smile.

“Yes, we're here to sign up for the Entrance exam for Duel academy.” Tai answered for the group.

“Names please!” The man stated as he picked up a clip board and a pencil.

“Tai Kamiya.” Tai answered.

“Kari Kamiya.” Kari answered.

“Matt Ishida.” Matt answered.

“T.K. Takaishi.” T.K. answered.

“Joe Kido.” Joe answered.

“Izzy Izumi.” Izzy answered.

“Mimi Tachikawa.” Mimi answered.

“Sora Takenouchi.” Sora answered.

“Davis Motomiya.” Davis answered.

“Jun Motomiya.” Jun answered.

“Yolei Inoue.” Yolei answered.

“Ken Ichijouji.” Ken answered.

“Cody Hida.” Cody answered.

After he wrote down their names the man looked up from the clip board to give them all the once over to make sure that they were all of age to be taking the exam. When his eyes passed over Cody, he glared down at the young man.

“Excuse me young man but I believe you are still a few years too young to be taking this exam.” The man informed Cody.

“Yes I know, but I was told to present this letter to you upon my arrival here today.” Cody said handing over the letter.

After reading over the paper, the polite smile returned to the man's face.

“My apologies young man, I knew we would be receiving a new student via a scholarship but I didn't know when he or she for that matter would show up.” The man said.

“It's alright. I understand that you're just doing your job, sir.” Cody said with a smile.

“Well, I must tell you all that you'll have to wait for a while yet. We haven't started the exams yet. Our chancellor wants to give everyone a chance to get here that's supposed to be here. So he's giving it until 5:30 before they begin.” The man said.

“Thank you sir.” Sora said with a smile as she and the others walked off into a corner.

“Okay, let's see, it's 4:30 now so I would say we have one hour to wait.” Izzy informed the others.

“That's okay, I think we could use this time to prep our decks one last time. “ Tai said as he sat in a seat next to him. Sora decided to take a chance and sat in his lap. “Are we feeling a little lonely now my Firebird?” Tai asked with a flirtatious smile.

“Okay you two, cut it out with the feeling each other up! This is a public place you know.” Matt admonished Tai and Sora.

“Oh, leave them alone, Matt. After all they're in love and it's not like they're doing any serious groping right now.” Mimi chided.

“Fine.” Matt said giving up on the moment.

It was then that the remaining scouts in their everyday guise as Amy Mizuno, Raye Hino, Lita Kino, Mina Aino, Amara Ten'ou, Michelle Kaiou, and Trista Meiou along with Darien Shields walked into the main entrance of the stadium. As the Inner Scouts looked around to gauge the other hopeful candidates to get into Duel Academy, they spotted three men that looked very familiar to them.

'They look just like Malachite, Nephlite and Zoisite! But that's just not possible! We saw Zoisite kill Nephlite and while we killed Malachite to protect Sailor Moon, we all just assumed that Beryl did a way with Zoisite or something cause she never came back.', Amy thought to herself.

'I don't get it, if we killed off Malachite, and the others told me that they saw Zoisite kill off Nephlite, than how is it possible for three dead men to be back among the living?', Lita thought to herself.

'This is just getting weirder! First we have to save both Serena and Hotaru from a madman who brainwashed them against us and Earth, now we have to deal with the Generals of the Dark Kingdom again! I don't think I can take much more of this.', Mina thought to herself.

'Something's different about those three! They may look like the Dark Kingdom Generals; however, I'm not picking up any ill intentions or evil vibes from them. How is that possible?', Raye thought to herself.

Over with the three guys, they too had taken notice of the new arrivals who had just entered the stadium. They also knew that four of the young women in the group were staring at them.

Don't look now guys, but we're being watched!, Zephyr who was the young blonde man in blue thought to the others in his group.

Is it just me or do those girls give you guys a feeling of déjà vu as well?, Nathan who was dressed in green thought as he stared at the group of young women from the corner of his eye.

Now that you mention it, they do seem familiar, the man with them does as well! It's like we use to be best friends, but I can't for the life of me figure out why., Knave who was wearing the gray suit said as he to discreetly looked over at the group of woman and one man.

Well what do you suggest we do, Knave? What ever the case may be, they could be nice people to hang around at the academy if we all manage to get into it., Zephyr asked.

“Hm, I think it would be a good idea to get to know them. Maybe we can figure out why they seem so familiar to us.” Knave said loud enough for only the other two men to hear.

“Right, but first I would suggest that we stay on task and worry about our entrance exams first. My Cosmic deck is ready to throw the competition for a loop.” Nathan said with a smile as he held up his deck for the others to see.

“I know what you mean! My Level Up deck is also ready to stomp out the competition.” Knave said as he held up his deck and looked down at it with pride in his eyes.

“Well my Water deck is ready to also drown out the competition as well.” Zephyr said as he held up his own deck.

“Then I say we go and win our way into the academy!” Knave stated with a smirk.

“Sounds like a plan to me.” Zephyr said as he and the others walked over towards the other people waiting to enter the main area of the stadium.

Back with the scouts and Darien, the Inner Scouts were still trying to understand just what it was that they were seeing.

[How is it that they could be alive? I mean we were there when both Nephlite and Malachite were killed!], Raye though to the other three Inner Scouts.

[I'm not sure, Raye. But are you feeling any negative vibes coming from them?], Amy asked concern in her mind leaking over into the other's minds.

[That's the thing Amy, I'm not feeling any evil coming from them.], Raye informed her.

[Is it possible that those three are just look-a-likes?], Lita asked.

[It's possible but I think we should keep an eye on them just incase.], Raye said.

[Maybe we should be friends with them so we can find out if they are who we think they are or not!], Mina suggested to the others.

[That's a good idea Mina. After all they do say keep your friends close and your enemies closer!], Lita said with a smug grin.

[What are you four talking about?], Amara asked breaking into their conversation.

[We have a feeling those three men are very familiar to us, but we not sure how unless they are three of the Dark Kingdom Generals from when the other Inner Scouts and I fought Queen Beryl.], Amy informed the older scout.

[Didn't you tell us that you saw the one known as Zoisite kill the other General known as Nephlite and that you all also killed the General known as Malachite while trying to protect Serena?], Michelle asked perplexed by their conversation.

[Yes, we did so it doesn't make sense on how they could still be here even if Zoisite was!], Raye answered.

[That is quite the conundrum isn't it! What do you think Trista?], Amara asked the oldest of them all.

[I have my theories, but I'd like to gather more information about this matter before I make any conclusions.], Trista informed the others.

“What's going on guys?” Darien asked the girls.

“It seems that the Inner Scouts have spotted three men that have them sharing their concerns with us.” Trista informed him.

“What's so special about these three men guys?” Darien asked turning his attention towards the Inner Scouts.

“It's just that they remind us of three of the Dark Kingdom Generals. We've decided that if we get close to them than we'll be able to learn if they are or not, especially due to the fact that Raye can't seem to get any negative vibes from them.” Amy answered for the others.

“I see, well getting to know them would be a good way to see if they were who you think they are or not. Just remember, do not accuse them of something if you have no proof. Because if you do, you could ruin a newly minted friendship.” Darien said approving of their plan but giving them some sound advice.

“I believe what Darien says if correct.” Trista informed the others.

“Right, then let's get this show underway so we can go save Serena and Hotaru!” Raye exclaimed as she walked away for the others and walked towards the larger group of hopeful candidates.

“Well I guess that means we should go too!” Lita stated as she and the others followed after her.

Over and the doors to the main area of the Stadium, a man walked out and addressed the entrance examinees before everything got underway.

“May I have your attention!” The man said which got everyone's attention. “Thank you all for coming today and I hope most of you if not all gain entry into the school! Now then, so that each of you will be able to get a chance to take the entrance exam, we will have group of rotation so that not every one of you will be on the stadium all at once. There will be ten examiners on the floor at ones which means ten tests will also be on the floor at once. We will continue like this until the last of you all have finished your exams. Now without further ado, I welcome you to your first step into the Dueling Academy!” The man stated as he turned around and opened the double doors to the main staging area of the stadium.

With that, the teens all began walking into the stadium area.

Once inside the stadium, each student was gin a group number. After knowing their groups, the first group consisting of seven unknown candidates as well as the three men who to the Inner Scouts looked like the evil Dark Kingdom Generals stood at the ready to begin their exam. Each General look-a-like stood before their respected instructor with their duel disks at the ready. Then the test began. One by one, the examinees took the test and one by one most of them failed. The only ones still holding their own in the first block were Knave, Nathan and Zephyr.

With Knave and his instructor, they were both facing each other ready to battle.

“Are you ready to show me what you and your deck can do?” The instructor asked placing his own deck into his duel disk.

“I'm as ready as I'll ever be!” Knave stated as he too placed his deck into his own duel disk.

“Let's duel!” Both duelists said at the same time as their respected duel disks activated.

“I believe I shall be a gentleman and allow you to go first young man.” The instructor said as he drew five cards from his deck.

“Fine by me.” Knave said as he too drew five cards and then looked at what he had in his hand. In his hand he had: Silent Swordsman LV 3 (1000/1000), Armed Dragon LV 5 (2400/1700), Sangan (1000/1000), Widespread Ruin trap card, and the Spell Absorption Continuous spell card.

'Being that the instructor is letting me go first, I won't be able to attack until my next attack phase so all I can do is mount a defense until then. I won't be able to use my dragon right now seeing as it is a level 5 dragon so my best bet right now would be to put my Silent Swordsman in defense mode and place both my magic and trap cards down in my trap/spell slots. That ought to protect me for now.' “First I play my Silent Swordsman LV 3 in defense mode!” Soon after, Silent Swordsman (1000/1000) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Then I play two cards face-down, I will then end my turn.” Knave said as he placed two cards in the face-down position in the trap/spell slots of his duel disk.

“Very good move my young friend, you hope to level up your Swordsman in order to take some of my Life Points away, but I am afraid that I can't allow that to happen!” The instructor said as he too looked over his hand. “I play the monster, Red Gadget in attack mode!” Soon after, Red Gadget (1300/1500) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Thanks to this cards special effect, when ever this card is successfully summoned to the field, I get to search through my deck for my Yellow Gadget and add it to my hand.” The instructor said as he searched through his deck for said card and added it to his hand.

'I have to be careful, there is no telling what either of those cards in his trap/spell slots are; however, I know that one of us is going to have to make a move, I might as well spring his trap and see what he has planned!', the instructor thought to himself before he yelled out loud, “Now Red Gadget, destroy his Silent Swordsman!” The instructor ordered.

“Not so fast! You've walked right into my trap!” Knave exclaimed as he held his arm out over one of his face-down cards. It flipped up to reveal the trap card known as Widespread Ruin. “Due to the fact that you called an attack, this card can activate! Thanks to its effect, I get to destroy 1 monster with the highest ATK among your attack position monsters, and since you've only got one, guess who is going to the graveyard?” Knave asked with a smug grin.

“Very good young man! Now I place one card face down and end my turn.” The instructor said as he placed a card in the trap/spell slot of his duel disk and turned things over to Knave.

Knave drew a card and smiled up at the instructor. “First since it is my turn again, my Silent Swordsman gets a power up, so I sacrifice my Silent Swordsman LV 3 in order to bring out my Silent Swordsman LV 5!” Soon after, Silent Swordsman LV 3 (1000/1000) disappeared only to be replaced with Silent Swordsman LV 5 (2300/1000). “Then I also play the monster card known as Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 4 to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 4 (1600/1000) appeared on the field in attack mode. “I will then switch my Silent Swordsman into attack mode as well. Now I hope you know what's about to happen now sir! Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 4, attack him directly!” Knave ordered.

“I don't think so kid! I activate the trap card known as Soul Shield!” The instructor stated as he activated his trap card. “Thanks to this card, I have to give up half my Life Points; however, it allows me to end your battle phase immediately!” The instructor stated with a corny grin.

“Fine make your move and let's get going.” Knave said ending his turn.

“Very well!” The instructor said as he drew a card. “Now then first I play my Green Gadget monster card in defense mode!” Soon after, Green Gadget (1400/600) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Now just like my Red Gadget monster card, this monster's effect also let's me search through my deck for another monster just like it can bring it to my hand. But you already sent the monster this card effects to the graveyard, I guess I'll just have to play the spell card Monster Reborn in order to bring back my Red Gadget to the field from the Graveyard in defense mode!” Soon after, Red Gadget (1300/1500) returned to the field in defense mode. “For one final move I will place two cards face down and end my turn.” The instructor said with a smile as he ended his turn.

Knave drew another card and smiled up at the instructor. “You know what happens next sir! First my Silent Swordsman gets another upgrade. So I sacrifice my Silent Swordsman LV 5 in order to summon my Silent Swordsman LV 7 in attack mode!” Soon after, Silent Swordsman LV 5 (2300/1000) disappeared only to be replaced by Silent Swordsman LV 7 (2800/1000) on the field in attack mode. “Thanks to this card, as long as it remains on the field, it can negate all of the effects of all spell cards on the field.” Knave said with a smile.

“Just great!” The instructor mumbled under his breath.

“Next I sacrifice my Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 4 in order to summon my Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 6 to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 4 (1600/1000) disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 6 (2300/1600) on the field in attack mode. “Now that your spell card no longer has any effect on my monsters, I can attack them and win the duel! Now Silent Swordsman LV 7 attack his Red Gadget and send it right back to the Graveyard!” Knave ordered.

“Sorry, not happening!” The instructor stated.

“What?!” Knave exclaimed flabbergasted as his monster stopped in its tracks.

“Did you think I'd make it that easy for you to win? I know that your Silent Swordsman LV 7 might defunct my spell cards, but that doesn't mean my trap cards are out of play. I activated the trap card known as Nightmare Wheel. This card allows me to stop one of your monsters from attacking and as long as it remains on the field, you loose a total of 500 Life Points for every turn it remains on my side of the field.” The instructor smiled as Knave's monster returned back to his side of the field and his lost 500 Life Points.

“Fine so you stopped my Swordsman from attack! That won't stop my dragon from attacking! Now Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 6 take a bit out of his machine! Black Flame blast!” Knave ordered his second monster to which launched an attack against the instructor's monster.

“Now I'll end my turn!” Knave said handing control back over to the instructor.

“Now let's see, I believe it's time that I brought out one of my stronger monsters! Don't you think?” The instructor teased as he looked over his hand. “I sacrifice my Green Gadget on the field as well as my Yellow Gadget in my hand in order to summon my Buster Blader to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Green Gadget disappeared from the field and in its place, Buster Blader (2600/2300) arrived in attack mode.

“So what! My Silent Swordsman is still stronger then your monster.” Knave pointed out.

“I hate to burst your bubble there junior; however, my monster has a special effect. Thanks to the fact that you have a dragon on your side of the field, my monster gains a 500 points attack advantage over your monsters!” The instructor said even as his Buster Blader went from (2600/2300) to (3100/2300) in one minute. “Now Buster Blader cut his Swordsman down to size!” The Instructor ordered his monster which the proceeded to obliterate Knave's monster.

“Ah!” Knave cried out as he lost 300 points from his Life Points.

“Now I believe that I've knocked you down enough. Why don't you try and pick yourself up again.” The instructor said with a smile.

“Alright, I will!” Knave said as he drew a card from his deck. “First my Dragon gets another upgrade! So I sacrifice my Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 6 in order to summon my Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 8 to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 6 (2300/1600) disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 8 (3000/1800) on the field in attack mode.

“I hate to burst your bubble but my Buster Blader is still one hundred points stronger then your dragon.” The instructor informed Knave.

“Not for long it isn't! I then play the spell card known as United We Stand!” Knave said as he activated his spell card. “Thanks to this card, the equipped monster gains an increase of 800 ATK & DEF points for each monster on my side of the field and because my dragon is the only monster on my side of the field at the moment, he only gains 800 ATK & DEF points.” Knave informed the instructor. While the instructor watched Knave's dragon went from (3000/1800) to (3800/2600).

“Oh boy!” The instructor exclaimed.

“Now my dragon, obliterate his Buster Blader! Black Flame Blast!” Knave ordered his monster to attack. This caused the instructor to loose seven hundred Life Points.

“Now I believe it is your turn instructor.” Knave said with a smile.

“Very good young man, you've managed to take out my Buster Blader with a very good attack. But now it is time to turn this around in my favor.” The instructor said as he went over his cards.

“Now then, first I will play Robotic Knight in defense mode!” Soon after, Robotic Knight (1650/1600) appeared on the field in defense mode. The instructor puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “Next, I shall place one card face-down and end my turn!”

Knave draws one card from his deck and calls out, seriously, “My move!” Knave yells out, seriously, “Now, Horus, destroy his Robotic Knight right now!” Horus fires its black flame right at Robotic Knight and destroying it, but since it was in defense mode, Knave doesn't lose any life-points.

The instructor tells Knave, with a sly grin, “I'm sorry my young friend! I play my trap! Michizure!” The instructor's face-down card is revealed to be the Michizure trap card and Knave gasps in shock. The instructor says, with a sly smile, “It seems from the expression on your face that you know what this trap card does. When one of my monsters is destroyed, one of yours gets to join him. And since you only have one monster . . .”

Knave yells out, shocked, “No!” Just then his Black Flame Dragon explodes into particles as it is destroyed.

The instructor says, with a sly grin, “Now, with your Black Flame Dragon out of the way. I can use my spell cards once more.”

Knave says, with a sigh, “I end my turn.”

The instructor draws one card from his deck and he says, “As you should and it is my move.” The instruction puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “Now, I play my Graceful Charity and draw three cards from my deck, but then I must discard two!” The instructor draws three cards from his deck, discards two from his hand, and says, putting another card in the spell/trap slots, “Next, I play Pot of Greed! This gives me two more cards from my deck!” The instructor draws two more cards from his deck, puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “Now, I play my Monster Reborn to bring back my Machine King that I discarded with my Graceful Charity!” Just then Machine King (2200/2000-2300/2000) comes to the field in attack mode. The instructor says, with a serious tone, “And since he is a Machine monster, his ability gives him one hundred more attack points for every Machine monster on the field.” The instructor puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “Next, I shall play my Machine Conversation Factory Equip Spell! This gives my King an extra three hundred attack and defense points!” Machine King's stats then rise from 2300/2000 to 2600/2000! The instructor then yells out, “Attack him directly! Rocket Punch!” Machine King fires its two machine arms at Knave and they rocket toward him, bashing him, and he falls to the ground as he loses 2600 life-points.

Knave says, getting to his feet, “Not bad, but I'm not done.”

The instructor puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “Now, I play my Swords of Revealing Light! Now, your monsters are trapped for three turns!”

As the bright swords of light surround Knave's side of the field, he calls out, “No!”

The instructor says, with a nod, “I'll end my turn. How will get out of this one, my young friend?”

Knave looks at his deck and thinks in his mind, determinedly, 'Well, I know that there is something in my deck that can help me! The other guys are counting on me to get into Duel Academy with them and I'm not going to let them down!' Knave draws one card from his deck and calls out, seriously, “My move!” Knave puts one card in the spell/trap slots and yells out, “Now, I play my Pot of Greed! I draw two more cards from my deck!” Knave looks at his card and thinks in his mind, with a sly grin, 'Yes! Just the cards I was hoping for!' Knave puts one card on his duel disk and calls out, “Now, I summon my Silent Magician LV 4 in attack mode!” Soon after, Silent Magician LV 4 (1000/1000) comes to the field in attack mode.

The instructor says, seriously, “But he only has one thousand attack points. Not enough to take on my monster.”

Knave puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “But he will when I play my Level Up spell card! Now, I sacrifice my Silent Magician LV 4 for Silent Magician LV 8!” Silent Magician LV4 vanishes from the field, a card comes out of Knave's deck, he puts it on his duel disk, and Silent Magician LV8 (3500/1000) comes to the field in attack mode. Knave puts one card in the spell/trap slots and calls out, “And finally, I play this! My Megamorph Equip spell! Since my life-points are less than yours, it doubles my Magician's attack power!” Silent Magician LV 8's stats rise from 3500/1000 to 7000/1000! Knave states, with a sly grin, “By the way, did you know my Level Eight Magician is totally unaffected by my opponent's spell cards including your Swords of Revealing Light?”

The instructor gasps in shock and he exclaims, “That means . . .!”

Knave yells out, with a serious tone, “That this duel is over! Magician, attack! Silent Burning!” Silent Magician leaps into the air, unfazed by the Swords of Revealing Light, fires a sphere of mystical energy at Machine King, and destroys it causing the instructor to yell out in shock as he loses 3400 life-points, ending the duel immediately.

“Very good young man, even with me letting you off the hook a few times, you still managed to pull a win out of your hat all on your own. I hope that you will get a lot better at using your deck to pull off more stunning wins.” The Instructor said even as the last of the holograms disappeared from the field.

“Thank you sir.” Knave said as he turned and walked off the stadium floor.

Way to go Knave! You did great., Zephyr thought to his friend.

Yeah that was an incredible win!, Nathan added.

A few minutes earlier with Nathan and his instructor, they were preparing to face off in a duel of their own.

“Okay young man, are you ready to see if you have what it takes to get into duel academy?” His instructor asked preparing his deck.

“Yes sir!” Nathan exclaimed as he too prepared his own deck.

“Very well then, let us begin!” The instructor said activating his duel disk.

“What ever you say sir.” Nathan said as he activated his duel disk.

“Let's duel!” Both men exclaimed preparing to duel.

“I believe I'll go first son!” The instructor said as he looked over his hand. “First I will play the monster card known as X-Head Cannon in attack mode!” Soon after, X-Head Cannon (1800/1500) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Then I activate the Quick-Play spell card known as Quick Attack!” The instructor stated as he placed a spell card in one of his trap/spell card slots. “Thanks to this card, my monster is able to attack you directly without having to wait until my next attack phase! Now attack him directly X-Head Cannon!” The instructor ordered his monster which cost Nathan 1800 Life Points. “I can't do anymore so I'll call it a turn and hand things over to you now.”

Nathan drew a card and looked over his hand. A smile crosses his lips as he looks up at the instructor. “I hope you're ready for your own beat down! I call to my side of the field, Zeradias, Herald of Heaven in attack mode!” Soon after, Zeradias, Herald of Heaven (2100/800) appeared on the field in attack mode. “My monster has a special ability, but we'll get to that later. First, get ready to loose your monster as well as some Life Points! Now Zeradias, attack his monster and obliterate it from the field!” Nathan ordered.

Thanks to Nathan's monster, the Instructor lost three hundred Life Points.

“You only managed to take three hundred Life Points from me kid. If you plan on going to Duel Academy, you'll have to do better than that.” The instructor informed Nathan.

“Don't worry, I plan to do a lot better against you, but for now I place two cards face down and end my turn.

“Alright, let's see how much damage I can do to you this time!” The instructor stated as he drew a card and looked at his hand. 'Hmm, I have the other two components of my XYZ Dragon Cannon, I have a Vorse Raider, a Ryu-Kishin Powered, and a Thunder Dragon! Which should I play first? I guess I'll play my Vorse Raider in defense mode for now until I can get a spell or trap card in order to use against his monster. I just hope my Life Points can stand his attacks until I'm ready to mount an attack again.', The instructor thought to himself before he said out loud with a determined look in his eyes, “I can't do much for now except protect my Life Points so I play my Vorse Raider in defense mode!” Soon after, Vorse Raider (1900/1200) appeared on the field in defense mode. “I will now end my turn.” The instructor said turning things over to Nathan.

Nathan drew another card and thought over a new plan. 'So far it looks like he doesn't have anymore spell or trap cards to use against me at the moment but that could change at any moment. I could attack his Vorse Raider with my Zeradias, Herald of Heaven or I can sacrifice it to play my field spell card known as The Sanctuary in the Sky which would protect my Fairy-type monsters. Then I could also bring one of my fairy-type monsters to the field and there'd be nothing he could do until he brings out a spell or trap card that could destroy my field spell card. That sounds like a good plan, but which Fairy-type monster should I bring to the field? Since I need to sacrifice my Zeradias in order to bring my Field spell card to the field, I will have to call forth a level 4 or lower Fairy-Type monster first before sacrificing it for a stronger monster. Alright let's do this then!' Nathan thought out before he turned his attention to the instructor and said out loud, “I will now inform you as to my monster's special effect. Thanks to my monster's special ability, I can sacrifice him in order to play my field spell card known as The Sanctuary in the Sky!” Nathan said as his monster disappeared and he placed his Field Spell card in the special Field spell card slot. Suddenly, Nathan's side of the field changed from an ordinary stadium floor to a floating castle behind him with clouds floating all around. “Next I summon my Agent of Creation-Venus to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Agent of Creation-Venus (1600/0) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Now then I'll end my turn for now, but unless you know the effects of my field spell card, you'll find out soon!” Nathan said as he ended his turn.

'Hmm, I know there's something special that card does for him, but for the life of me I can't remember at this moment in time; however, that won't stop me from bringing out my heavy guns.', The instructor thought as he drew a card from his deck and smiled. “Well I might not remember what your field spell card does for you at the moment, but it won't stop me from bringing out a stronger monster in order to defend myself from your future attacks or to attack your pitiful monster! So I sacrifice my Vorse Raider in order to summon my Zaborg the Thunder Monarch in attack mode to the field!” Soon after, Vorse Raider disappeared from the field and Zaborg the Thunder Monarch (2400/1000) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“Well I guess since I can't do anything else at the moment, I'll end my turn, but beware, with me ending my turn, there is only two more turns before I can attack again.” The instructor informed Nathan.

“The next two turns are all I'll need!” Nathan said as he drew a card from his deck and looked at the cards in his hand. 'Hmm, let's see I have a Cosmo Queen along with a Warrior of Zera, Agent of Wisdom-Mercury, Polymerization spell card, and a Monster Reborn spell card. Okay if I summon one of my monsters this turn in defense mode, I can summon my other low star level monster to the field on my next turn and being that the instructor will still be unable to attack me due to my Swords of Revealing Light, I'll be able to sacrifice both my low level monsters in order to summon my much stronger Cosmo Queen. I just hope I get the spell cards I'll need to put this duel to bed.', Nathan thought as he went over a new strategy.

“Well now for my only move this turn, I'll summon Warrior of Zera in defense mode!” Soon after, Warrior of Zera (1600/1600) appeared on the field in defense mode. “I can't do anymore for now so I'll end my turn.” Nathan said as he ended his turn.

“Well since I still can't do much at the moment due to your spell card, I'll place a card face down and end my turn, but keep in mind there is only one turn to go before I am able to attack you again.” The instructor said ending his turn.

Nathan drew a card from his deck and looked up at the instructor with a cool smirk. “I am well aware of that, sir! I now summon my Agent of Wisdom-Mercury to the field in defense mode!” Soon after, Agent of Wisdom-Mercury (0/1700) appeared on the field in defense mode. “I hate to do this to you sir, but it appears that I am about to win our duel.” Nathan informed him.

“Then make your play and let's see how you do.” The instructor said eager to see what his hopeful student could do.

“Alright then, I sacrifice both my Warrior of Zera and Agent of Wisdom-Mercury in order to summon my Cosmo Queen in attack mode!” Soon after, both Warrior of Zera and Agent of Wisdom-Mercury disappear from the field only to be replaced by Cosmo Queen (2900/2450) in attack mode on the field.

“Very good, you managed to get a stronger monster on the field then mine is. Now let's see if you can use it!” The instructor taunted.

“Alright, but I'm not ready to attack yet. I will first place one trap card face down and then I'll have my Cosmo Queen trounce your monster!” Nathan said as he placed the trap card face-down in the trap/spell slots before giving his monster permission to attack.

The instructor got a smug look on his face while he activated his trap card. “I don't think so mister! I play my trap card known as Reinforcements!” Soon after, Reinforcements flipped over. “Thanks to this card, my Zaborg the Thunder Monarch's ATK points go up by 500 making him strong enough to where both our monsters will be destroyed.” The instructor said as Zaborg the Thunder Monarch's ATK points went from (2400/1000) to (2900/1000).

“Damn!” Nathan hissed as both his Cosmo Queen and the instructor's Zaborg the Thunder Monarch destroyed each other. “Fine, I place one more card face down and end my turn!” Nathan stated as he put another card in the trap/spell slots of his duel disk.

“You were close Nathan, but I'm afraid, you'll have to do better then that if you want to get into Duel Academy with the rest of the students here today. We've already seen the elimination of a few of your fellow examinees, are you planning on being the next to go?” The instructor teased as he drew a card and looked over his hand.

“Now then I play Witch of the Black Forest in defense mode!” Soon after, Witch of the Black Forest (1100/1200) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Since that's all I can do at the moment, I'll call it a turn.” The instructor said handing the ranges back over to Nathan.

'I've got to turn this around if I want to go to the academy with Knave and Zephyr. I still wish I knew why we were being drawn there.' Nathan thought to himself as he drew a card and looked over his hand. 'Hm, let's see, if I play my Monster Reborn spell card, I can bring back my Cosmo Queen to the field which will get rid of his Witch of the Black Forest; however, I could also play my Polymerization and fuse my Elemental Hero Avian and my Elemental Hero Burstinatrix in order to bring out my Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer and he wouldn't be able to destroy it in battle. So many decisions and so little time. Guess I better make up my mind!' Nathan continued to go over his next move in his head.

“Yes I am! At first I was going to do one of two moves but since you've been so patient, I've decided to treat you to my two move combo! First I play my Monster Reborn spell card in order to bring my Cosmo Queen back from the graveyard in attack mode!” Soon after, Cosmo Queen (2900/2450) returns to the field in attack mode. “Then I plan the other spell card in my hand and fuse the two monsters that are also in my hand together!” Nathan said as he held up both Elemental Hero Avian and my Elemental Hero Burstinatrix as well as for Polymerization. He then placed all three cards in the graveyard and removed the fusion monster Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer from his fusion deck. “I now summon Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer (2100/1200) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“Now let's see you get past my monster's onslaught! Elemental Hero Phoenix Enforcer, destroy his Witch of the Black forest, now!” Nathan ordered.

Not a second after the order was given did the instructor find his monster turned to dust; however, Nathan wasn't done yet.

“Now Cosmo Queen, obliterate his life points and end this duel!” Nathan yelled which caused his monster to attack and win him the duel.

“Well now young man, are you ready to show me what you've got?” The instructor asked a he prepped his deck.

“I was born ready!” Zephyr stated as he too prepped his deck. I'll be joining you guys soon! Zephyr sent to his two friends.

Just be careful and use your brains at all times. I don't want to see this instructor throw you off your game., Nathan's voice rang through Zephyr's mind.

Will do guys!, Zephyr sent back. “Now, let's get to it!” Zephyr exclaimed as he activated his duel disk.

“Yes, lets!” The Instructor agreed with a nod of his head as he too activated his duel disk.

And for the first card played in our duel, I believe I will play Hysteric Fairy in defense mode!” Soon after, Hysteric Fairy (1800/1000) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Now due to the fact that I can't attack you yet, I will place a card face down and end my turn.” The instructor said as he placed a card in his spell/trap slot then handed the reigns over to Zephyr.

Zephyr drew his five cards from his deck and looked up at the instructor across from him. “I hope you're ready for a world of hurt mister instructor!” Zephyr taunted with a bright smile on his face. “For my first move, I will play my 7 colored Fish to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, 7 Colored Fish (1800/800) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“Great! But still, you won't be able to attack my monster seeing as they both have the same attack strength.” The instructor informed the hopeful student.

“Maybe, but it also means you can destroy mine either.” Zephyr retorted.

“Well then show me what you've got!” The instructor stated.

“Fine, but you're really about to hate me a whole lot right now.” Zephyr said as he placed a card in the field spell slot of his duel disk. “I will now activate my Field spell card known as Umi!” Zephyr said as the said card activated turning the field into a giant ocean. “If you don't know what this card does than it gives all of my Fish, Sea Serpent, Thunder & Aqua-Type monsters an increase in ATK & DEF of about 200 points.” Zephyr said even as his 7 Colored Fish went from (1800/800) to (2000/1000).

“Hmm, not too bad kid.” The instructor said impressed by Zephyr's first move.

“Thanks, but now you about to feel my monster's wrath. Go 7 Colored Fish! Attack and destroy his monster!” Zephyr commanded. When Zephyr's monster attacked and destroyed the instructor's Fairy, he took off 200 life points. “Now I'll place one card face down and end my turn.” Zephyr said turning things over to the instructor.

“Well I hate to say this but thanks to your very own field spell card, my monsters are also helped out! I call Nightmare Penguin to the field in defense mode!” Soon after Nightmare Penguin (900/1800) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Now thanks to your field spell card, my monster gains an extra 200 ATK & DEF points.” A second later, Nightmare Penguin went from (900/1800) to (1100/2000). “My life points are now protected from your monster. Now since at the moment I don't have a monster strong enough to either destroy your monster or attack your Life Points, I'll go ahead and place another card face-down and end my turn.

Zephyr drew another card and with a smart ass grin on his face, he replied, “It looks like I just got my first powerful monster that will take care of your Penguin! I sacrifice my 7 Colored Fish in order to call The Legendary Fisherman to the field in attack mode!” Soon after 7 Colored Fish disappeared only to be replaced by The Legendary Fisherman (1850/1600) in attack mode on the field. “As with my 7 Colored Fish, my Legendary Fisherman also gains 200 points to its ATK & DEF.” Zephyr announced as The Legendary Fisherman went from (1850/1600) to (2050/1800).

“Very good you're ready to take out my monster, but are you really sure you want to?” The instructor asked with a taunting glance.

'Great, I know he's trying to throw me off my game, and with the face-down cards on his side of the field, I don't want to take any chances in loosing my monster but I know the only way to flush out his trap is to just go for it. I hate being so confused about what my next move is going to be!' Zephyr thought to himself.

Zephyr what's wrong with you? I thought we told you not to loose your cool and don't let the instructor get to you!, Knave asked mentally.

Knave's right dude! So what if the instructor has a few spell or trap cards on the field, all you need to do is get rid of the cards so that you can play you're A-game. Don't forget, you've got face-down cards, too! Play the way you always have and no one will think any less of you! Now take out the instructor and hurry up already! We've got other things to be doing after this exam!, Nathan also stated mentally.

Thanks for the pep talk guys! I really needed it!, Zephyr returned with a smile. 'The guys are right! I can't second guess myself. I need to continue this duel or I am no good to anyone.', Zephyr thought to himself before he said out loud with a reassuring smile, “Okay, you want my best well you're going to get it! Legendary Fisherman attack his Penguin and take it out of the game!” Zephyr ordered.

“I don't think so kiddo! I activate the trap card known as Nightmare Mirror!” The instructor said as one of the cards in the spell trap slots flipped over to reveal the Nightmare Mirror trap card. “Thanks to this trap card, I can stop your monster's attack and you loose 1000 Life Points.”

“Just wonderful! Fine I end my turn.” Zephyr said.

I'm afraid; however, that I am going to have to make it hard for you to win this duel. Now I sacrifice my Nightmare Penguin in order to summon my Legendary Fiend to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Nightmare Penguin disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Legendary Fiend (2100/1700) on the field in attack mode.

'Great now the instructor has a stronger monster on the field then my Legendary Fisherman! Now what am I going to do?', Zephyr thought to himself as he went over his hand then looked down at the cards in his spell/trap slots on his duel disk. 'Okay calm down, you can do this, Zephyr! Remember, we activated our Umi field spell card so the Tornado Wall continuous trap card face-down on the field can be played. So even if he does destroy my monster, he'll never be able to take any more Life Points from me directly. Then the Returned of the Doomed card can help me bring my monster back to my hand if he destroys my monster too. We'll just have to relax and take things one step at a time.'

“Okay kiddo, here I come ready or not! Legendary Fiend, destroy his monster immediately, Mega Claw Slash!” The instructor exclaimed as he pointed towards Zephyr's monster.

When the instructor's monster attacked and destroyed Zephyr's monster, Zephyr lost 50 Life Points.

“Since that's all I can do at the moment, I'll end my turn.” The instructor said handing things over to Zephyr.

Zephyr drew a card and a large grin appeared on his face. “I hate to say this sir, but I just got a card that will help me out a lot! First due to the fact that I have my field spell card known as Umi out on the field, I can activate this continuous trap spell card known as Tornado Wall!” Soon after, Zephyr's trap card flipped over to reveal Tornado Wall on the field. “Thanks to this trap card, any time you try to attack me directly, the damage to my Life Points will become 0. Next I will also play the spell card known as Fortress Whale's Oath!” Zephyr stated as he slipped the spell card into the spell/trap slots of his duel disk. “Thanks to this card, I can Ritual Summon the monster card known as Fortress Whale as long as I tribute monsters whose total level equal 7 or more stars from the field or my hand. So I tribute Great White Terror and Great White in my hand in order to summon my Fortress Whale to the field in attack mode!” Zephyr stated as he sent the two monster's in his hand to the graveyard. Soon after, Fortress Whale (2350/2150) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Now thanks to my Umi field spell card, my Fortress Whale gains 200 points to his ATK & DEF!” Soon after, Fortress Whale went from (2350/2150) to (2550/2350). “Now get ready for a world of hurt! Now Fortress Whale attack his monster and take it out!” Zephyr ordered.

Soon after Zephyr's monster slammed into the Instructor's monster and took out 450 points of damage from the instructor's Life Points.

“I will now end my turn.” Zephyr said with a bright smile.

Also the effects of your Tornado Wall won't take effect because it only effects when monster attack your Life Points.” The instructor said as the effects of his spell card took effect and wiped out 1000 Life Points from Zephyr and 500 Life Points from the Instructor.

“Next I will play the monster card known as Big Shield Gardna in defense mode!” Soon after, Big Shield Gardna (100/2600) appeared on the field in defense mode. “I will now end my turn for now.

Off to the side, both Knave and Nathan continued to watch the duel going on between Zephyr and the instructor he was you against.

“I really hope Zephyr is able to turn things around.” Nathan said worried for the young of the group.

“He'll be fine, Nate. We have to trust in his ability to play a great game no matter what happens. I know we'll be going to the academy together, we just have to wait and see what Zephyr can do.” Knave answered.

Come on Zephyr, you can do it!, Nathan sent to his friend.

Thanks for the confidence, Nate!, Zephyr thought to the other man. He then drew a card from his deck. “Let's see what all I can do now shall we? I will now summon my Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 in defense mode to the field.” Soon after, Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 (1500/1300) appeared on the field in attack mode. “As always, my field spell card adds 200 ATK & DEF points to it.” Zephyr said as Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 went from (1500/1300) to (1700/1500). “Next I will play the spell card known as Pot of Greed.” Zephyr said placing said card into the spell/trap slot of his duel disk. “Thanks to this card I can draw to more cards from my deck.” Zephyr said as he did just that. “Next I'll sacrifice my Fortress Whale in order to summon another strong level seven monster known as Levia-Dragon - Daedalus to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Fortress Whale disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Levia-Dragon - Daedalus (2600/1500) to the field in attack mode. “And as you know with all my monsters, it too is affected by my Umi field spell card!” Zephyr stated even as Levia-Dragon - Daedalus went from (2600/1500) to (2800/1700).

“Now Levia-Dragon - Daedalus, attack his Big Shield Gardna and eliminate his only defense!” Zephyr ordered. Soon after Zephyr's monster attacked and wiped out the instructor's monster. “Now Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 attack his Life Points directly!” Zephyr ordered his second monster which caused 1700 points of damage to the instructor's Life Points.

“Don't get too over confident young man. The duel isn't over yet. Now let's see, for now I can only summon Little Wing Guard in defense mode!” Soon after, Little Wing Guard (1400/1800) appeared on the field in defense mode. “I will now end my turn.” The instructor said ending his turn.

After Zephyr drew his next card, a renewed smile graced his lips. “I must apologize but as I said, this duel is over! Now I summon my most powerful monster in my deck! But first I must tribute my Levia-Dragon - Daedalus in order to summon my Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Levia-Dragon - Daedalus disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedal us (2900/1600) on the field in attack mode. “As with all my Water-type monsters, Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus also gets an increase in his ATK & DEF.” Zephyr said even as Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus went from (2900/1600) to (3100/1800).

“Now Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus attack his defense monster and blow it out of the water! Torrential Down Pour!” Zephyr ordered which caused his monster to obliterate the instructor's monster. “And finally, Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 finish off this duel by taking out the rest of the instructor's Life Points!” Zephyr ordered his other monster. To which the instructor lost the rest of his Life Points and the duel.

Up in the stands, the Sailor Scouts were all watching as Zephyr stepped down off of the dueling field and walked over to his friends.

[That Zephyr guy almost lost there for a moment.], Raye said looking down at the three men.

[Yeah, but he sure came back in the end to pull off a great win!], Lita stated.

[He sure is cute, too!], Mina gushed.

[Mina, we're suppose to be keeping an eye on them, not falling for them!], Amy reminded her even while a blush graced her cheeks.

[Alright ladies, remember why we're here!], Amara admonished the younger girls.

[Amara is right! We need to focus on getting into the academy so we can save the princess & Firefly.], Michelle added.

[Sorry!], the four Inner Scouts exclaimed in unison.

[Alright ladies, get ready the next group is being called down to the dueling fields.], Trista said as she pointed down to the announcer.

The next few groups that went up were made up of a few of the Scouts, Digidestined as well as a few from a couple of more groups of people who made it their job to protect people from evil beings out to destroy mankind as well as other creatures in our world. After awhile, most of the Scouts, Digidestined, and the other two groups had managed to duel and win the chance to attend the Academy. The only people who had yet to pass their entrance exams were Darien & Raye from the Sailor Scouts, Tai, Davis, Jun and Kari from the Digidestined, and Yusuke Urameshi from one of the two remaining groups. While these seven duelists got ready to duel down on the dueling fields, the rest of their friends sat up in the stands hoping their friends would be able to attend right along with them at the academy.

Me anwhile down on duel field one, Darien was preparing to duel for his chance to go to the academy and save the woman he loved.

'Okay I can do this, I just have to remember that I'm doing this in order to save 'Rena'. That brainwashing creep will pay for what-ever it is he's done to both Serena & Hotaru or I am not the reincarnation of Prince Endymion!' Darien thought as he prepared his deck for battle.

“So Mister Shields, are you ready to see if you have what it takes to make it into Duel Academy?” The instructor asked.

“As ready as I'll ever be!” Darien stated as he slammed his deck into his duel disk.

“Are we angry about something?” The instructor asked perplexed by Darien's behavior.

“Let's just say that there is someone at Duel Academy that has some major payback coming their way and leave it at that.” Darien answered trying to cool off his temper.

“Very well, I just hope you don't take out on me what ever it is you're angry at this other person for.” The instructor said as he placed his own duel deck into his duel disk.

“Yes sir.” Darien simply said with a nod of his head.

“Alright then let's go ahead and get started.” The instructor said with a smile.

Then as one both men looked at each other in the eyes and called out as one, “Let's duel!”

“Thanks.” Darien simply said as he took a card out of his hand and placed it down on his duel disk. “For my first move, I'll play the monster card known as Berserk Gorilla in attack mode!” Soon after, Berserk Gorilla (2000/1000) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Then I'll activate the field spell card known as Gaia Power!” Darien said placing a card in the field spell card slot. “Thanks to this card my Earth-type monsters get an increase to their ATK by 500 points, but their DEF is decreased b 400 points.” Soon after, Berserk Gorilla went from (2000/1000) to (2500/600). “Finally, I'll place one card face down and end my turn.” Darien said as he placed a card in the spell/trap slots of his duel disk that called it a turn.

“I must say that you made a very good first move Mister Shields, now it is time to see what I can do.” The instructor said as he went over his own hand. 'Hmm, let's see how he likes going up against spellcasters! I'll start things off with a bang by playing my Black Magic Ritual spell card and I'll tribute my Skilled Dark Magician & my Gravekeeper's Watcher that are both in my hand so I can Ritual Summon my Magician of Black Chaos. I'll at least be able to cause 300 points of damage to Mister Shield's Life Points. Okay time to get started.', the instructor thought to himself before he pulled a card out of his hand. “Alright now for my first move, I play the Ritual spell card known as Black Magic Ritual!” The instructor said placing said card in the spell/trap slot of his duel disk. “Thanks to this card I am able to summon a powerful monster via a ritual summons as long as I tribute to monsters in my hand that total levels equals 8 or more. So I'll tribute my Skilled Dark Magician & my Gravekeeper's Watcher in order to Ritual Summon my Magician of Black Chaos to the field in attack mode.” The instructor said placing the said monster cards in his graveyard. Soon after, Magician of Black Chaos (2800/2600) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“Now then, Magician of Black Chaos obliterate his Berserk Gorilla from the field!” The instructor ordered which caused his magician to attack Darien's gorilla and knocking 300 points off of Darien's Life Points. “I will now end my turn.” The instructor said ending his turn.

Darien drew a card from his deck and a wide grin spread across his face. “Now for my next summons I will summon Giantess to the field in attack mode, but first I must remove from play one Earth monster that is in my graveyard and since Berserk Gorilla is the only Earth Monster in my graveyard, I remove it from play!” Darien said as his Berserk Gorilla ejects from his graveyard and Darien places it in his card holder on the side of his pants. Soon after, Gigantes (1900/1300) appears on the field in attack mode.

“That monster won't help you, Mister Shields. If you've already forgot your field spell card only gives your monster five hundred ATK points to your monster and takes four hundred DEF points away from it's defensive capabilities. My Magician is still much stronger then yours is.” The instructor said unimpressed with Darien's move so far.

“Maybe my monster isn't stronger then yours right now, but he will be once I equip this spell card known as Sword of Deep Seated to it!” Darien said with a smile as he placed said card in the spell/trap slot of his duel disk. “Thanks to this card my monster gets an extra five hundred points added to both its ATK & DEF giving it enough power to wipe out your Magician.” Darien said even as Gigantes went from (1900/1300) to (2900/1400). “So you see even though my field spell card takes four hundred DEF points out of my monster, I still get one thousand ATK's which is as I said enough to destroy your monster. Now Gigantes destroy his Magician of Black Chaos and wipe out one hundred of his Life Points!” Darien ordered to which his monster obeyed.

Meanwhile up in the stands all of the Scouts save for Raye were watching what was going on.

“Man I was wondering if Darien was going to be able to turn that around.” Lita said staring down at the dueling field where Darien and his instructor were currently standing.

“Well don't forget Lita that the match isn't over yet, besides we still have Raye's match to go as well.” Amara said as she too watches the events below take place.

“I'm not, I just hope that Darien will be able to win this duel.” Lita returned.

“I'm sure Darien will be able to win his duel Lita and then once Raye wins hers, we'll all go to the academy together and save both Serena and Hotaru.” Mina said with a smile.

“Well said Mina, now hush, I want to watch the match.” Trista said from her seat.

Back with Darien & the Instructor's duel, Darien's monster attacked and destroyed the instructor's Magician taking one hundred Life Points with it.

“I believe that now I will end my turn for now.” Darien said handing things over to his opponent.

Soon after, Red Eyes Black Chick (800/500) appeared on the field in attack mode.

'I don't like where this is about to go!' Darien thought to himself with a look of uncertainty on his face.

“By the look on your face, I'd say you know that I have more in stare for you, and you know what, you're right. Thanks to my chick's special ability, I sacrifice my Red Eyes Black Chick to summon, my Red Eyes Black Dragon to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Red Eyes Black chick disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Red Eyes Black Dragon (2400/200) on the field in attack mode. “Now for my final act of this turn, I have a card in my hand that can only be summoned via a tribute. But I have to tribute a certain monster on the field in order to play it on the field. Thank goodness I have said monster on the field.” The instructor said with a smug smirk on his face. “Now then I tribute my Red Eyes Black Dragon in order to summon my Red Eyes Darkness Dragon to the field in attack mode.” Soon after, Red Eyes Black Dragon disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Red Eyes Darkness Dragon (2400/2000) on the field in attack mode.

'I knew I really wasn't going to like where this was going. Now thanks to both his Red Eyes Black Chick and his Red Eyes Black Dragon that are in the graveyard, his new dragon will get an added six hundred attack points.', Darien though glumly.

“Now if you don't know the effects of my new dragon, here they are! Thanks to its special ability, my dragon gets three hundred extra attack points for each dragon in my graveyard, and since I have two dragons in my graveyard, my dragon's attack power goes up by 600 attack points.” The instructor told Darien even as his dragon went from (2400/2000) to (3000/2000).

'Great, just great! Now I have to deal with a dragon that is just as strong as Blue Eyes!' Darien thought with a shake of his head.

“I hope you have a good come back after this kid! Red Eyes Darkness Dragon obliterate his Gigantes and take off one hundred of his life points, too!” The instructor ordered.

Darien drew another card from his deck and a wide grin crossed over his lips. “First of all, unless you know, thanks to the special ability of the magic card that I had equipped to my Gigantes monster card, when it is sent to the graveyard. I can place it on the top of my deck.” Darien said as the said magic ejected from his graveyard and Darien placed it on top of his deck. “Now let's see what I can do now.” Darien said going over his hand. 'Okay I have Alpha the Magnet Warrior, Beta the Magnet Warrior, Gamma the Magnet Warrior, and Pot of Greed in my hand. If I play my Pot of Greed Card, I'll have two extra cards that might help me put away his dragon. Now all I have to do is believe in myself and my deck. Hang on Sere' I'm coming!' Darien thought before he looked back up at the instructor. “The next move I make is to play the magic card, Pot of Greed! Thanks to this card, I am able to draw two cards from my deck to my hand. This means one of the cards I get back is my Sword of Deep Seated as well as one other.” Darien said as he drew two other cards from his deck. A wide grin crossed his lips. “I do believe I just found a way around your vile dragon.” Darien informed the instructor.

“I don't believe you!” The instructor exclaimed in disbelief.

“Believe what you want but I know what I'm talking about. First I play the monster card, Alpha the Magnet Warrior in attack mode.” Soon after, Alpha the Magnet Warrior (1400/1700) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Now as always thanks to my Gaia Power card, my Alpha the Magnet Warrior gets a power boost.” It was then that Alpha the Magnet Warrior went from (1400/1700) to (1900/1300).

“That's not going to help you beat me.” Instructor said with a smirk.

“Oh, but I believe this card can help immensely!” Darien stated holding up another card which turned out to be a magic card. “This card incase you didn't know is known as Hammer Shot. Thanks to this cards ability, I can destroy the face-up attack positioned monster on the field that has the highest attack power. And since your dragon is way more powerful than my magnet warrior, I believe it is your dragon's swan song!” Darien stated even as the instructor's dragon disintegrated off the field.

“No!” The instructor yelled in shock.

“Did I hit a nerve? Well allow me to do more! Alpha attack his life points directly magnetic punch!” Darien ordered causing his monster to fly forward and punch the instructor in the stomach. This also in turn took nineteen hundred life points off the instructor's current score.

“Well played, young man! But this isn't over yet!” The instructor informed Darien.

“Oh I know it isn't, so I'll end my turn and let you go.” Darien said as he ended his turn.

“Very well let us see what I can come up with!” The instructor said as he drew a card. 'I must be careful. Young mister Shields is a lot stronger then I gave him credit for. And I believe the monster I just drew will help me make a suitable defense as well as eradicate his Alpha the Magnet Warrior!' The Instructor thought to himself as he smiled down at his hand. “I hope you're ready to loose your monster, Mister Shields!” The instructor stated.

“Why?” Darien asked perplexed.

“Because now I play the Spellcaster Monster known as Gemini Elf to the field in attack mode!” Soon after Gemini Elf (1900/1900) appeared on the field in attack mode. “And as always thanks to your own field spell card because my monster is an Earth-type monster, it gets an attack boost of five hundred points while his defense points go down by four hundred points.” Soon after Gemini Elf's attack and defense points went from (1900/1900) to (2400/1500).

'Damn there goes my chance to summon one of my more powerful monsters! At least for now. All I need is to draw is Monster Reborn and I'll be fine. That is unless I draw one of my other powerful monsters first!' Darien thought to himself as he kept his cool.

“Now than Gemini Elf destroy his Alpha the Magnet Warrior!” The Instructor ordered. Soon after, Gemini Elf rushed across the field and slaughtered Darien's monster taking five hundred life points away from Darien. “Since that's all I can do for right now, I will now end my turn.”

“Alright, let's see if I can pull something off now.” Darien said to himself as he drew another card from his deck. When Darien looked at his newest monster in his hand, a smile crossed his lips. 'Excellent! It might not be a powerful monster but its effect will sure come in handy!' Darien thought to himself. “I will now summon my Mine Golem to the field in defense mode!” Soon after, Mine Golem (1000/1900) appeared on the field in defense mode. “As always, thanks to my field spell card, my monster gets an attack boost of five hundred while its defense points go down by four hundred.” So saying, Mine Golem went from (1000/1900) to (1500/1500).

“That pitiful monster won't be of any help to you!” The instructor exclaimed laughing.

'He must not know the special effect of my monster than! Perfect, than welcome to my parlor said the spider to the fly!' Darien thought as a smile crossed his lips. “You'll find that my monsters are all very strong in their own way. For now I place another card face down and end my turn.” Darien said as he placed a card in his trap/spell card slot.

Meanwhile up in the stands the scouts were all watching Darien's match with baited breathe.

“Why did he play such a weak monster knowing that its defense points would go down?” Mina asked looking worried that Darien might not make it into Duel Academy with the rest of them.

“Mina, not everything you see is as it would appear to be.” Amara answered keeping her eyes trained on the duel before her.

“What do you mean 'Mara?” Mina asked turning her attention towards the older girl.

“What Amara means Mina, is that Darien's new monster is an effect monster and by the sound of the instructor, he doesn't know that!” Amy pointed out.

“Exactly!” Amara simply stated with a nod of her head.

“Oh!” Mina exclaimed as it finally dawned on her.

“Can you three please be quiet! We're trying to watch Darien cream this guy!” Lita stated with a glare.

“Sorry about that!” Amy and Mina stated with an apologetic smile while Amara simply nodded yet again.

Back down on the field with Darien and the instructor, it was the instructor's turn and he had just drawn his next card.

“Well now my friend I believe I will have to teach you the reason that you should not always rely on the power of certain field spell cards or any other card for that matter! Now I sacrifice my Gemini Elf in order to summon a more powerful Spellcaster from my hand! I play Chaos Sorcerer to the field in attack mode!” Soon after, Gemini Elf disappeared from the field and Chaos Sorcerer (2300/2000) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Now than Chaos Sorcerer, attack his Mine Golem and turn it into dust!” The instructor ordered as he pointed at Darien's monster.

The instructor's monster than rushed forward and clobbered Darien's Mine Golem with it's staff sending it into oblivion and taking eight hundred life points away from Darien.

“That should be enough of a lesson for you at the moment. I will now end my turn.” The instructor said with a smug grin.

“You know, now it's time for your lesson! The monster you just destroyed was an effect monster! You see even though my monster was a low level monster, it packs quite a punch when it's destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard. Thanks to my monster's special effect, you've just lost five hundred life points of your own.” Darien informed the instructor.

“What?! Damn it, I should have paid closer attention to your monster!” The instructor cursed.

“Now than since it's my turn yet again, let's see if I can manage to do any more damage to you or not.” Darien said as he drew another card from his deck. 'Well this monster will do just nicely. Even though the field spell card will make it even with the instructor's monster, the card I put on the field ought to help out a little bit. I'll be able to get off a few more life points and bring my victory in this duel a little more closer and my hope of making it to Duel Academy in order to save Serena and Hotaru more real.', Darien thought as he looked down at the new card in his hand. “I hope you're ready for this next move, sir! I now play the monster known as Gearfried the Iron Knight in attack mode!” Soon after, Gearfried the Iron Knight (1800/1600) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Now you know the drill by now, thanks to my field spell card, my Gearfried get an added five hundred attack points while his defense points go down by four hundred.” Suddenly, Gearfried went from (1800/1600) to (2300/1200).

“He maybe as strong as my monster now, but he still doesn't have enough to destroy mine!” The instructor stated confidently.

“Maybe not yet, but did you forget the card in my trap/spell slot? It's a card you know very well! I now activate the spell card, Sword of Deep Seated!” Suddenly, said card flipped so that the Instructor and everyone behind him could see it. “You remember what this card does right? A monster equipped with this card increases its attack and defense by five hundred points. And I equip it to my Gearfried the Iron Knight!” Darien informed the instructor even as Gearfried went from (2300/1200) to (2800/1700).

'Oh boy!' The instructor thought quietly to himself.

“Now Gearfried destroy his Chaos Sorcerer!” Darien instructed.

Soon after, Darien's monster rushed across the stage and sliced through the Instructor's monster with its mighty sword taking five hundred more life points away from the instructor.

“Now due to my monster's special effect, my spell card that I had equipped him with is now destroyed. Since I can't do anything else at the moment, I now end my turn.” Darien said with a smile.

'Damn I've got to turn this duel around. I can't loose to this guy and be a laughing stock to my peers! But unfortunately I need to mount a defense for the moment.', the instructor thought to himself as he drew another card. “I play a monster card face down in defense mode!” The instructor said as he placed a card face down in defense mode. “I will now end my turn.” The instructor said handing things over to Darien.

“Okay, down to business!” Darien said drawing a card from his deck. 'This monster will be perfect to use against the instructor and I won't even need to bring out my Valkyrion the Magna Warrior to beat him either. All I need to so Sacrifice my Gearfried in order to summon this as well as play one of my other Magna warriors and I might have this duel in the bag.', Darien thought to himself. “First I play Beta the Magnet Warrior to the field, but he won't be staying long!” Darien said as he placed his next monster on the field. Soon after, Beta the Magnet Warrior (1700/1600) appeared on the field. “Next I sacrifice both my Gearfried the Iron Knight and my Beta the Magnet Warrior in order to summon my Buster Blader in attack mode as well!” Darien stated. Soon after, both Gearfried the Iron Knight and Beta the Magnet Warrior disappeared from the field only to be replaced by Buster Blader (2600/2300) who appeared on the field in attack. “Now than as with all my Earth-type monsters, my Buster Blader also gets an attack boost of five hundred points while his defense points still go down.” Suddenly, Buster Blader went from (2600/2300) to (3100/1900). “But unfortunately for you there's more! My Buster Blader has a special effect. For every dragon-type monster on your side of the field or in your graveyard, my monster gets an added five hundred points added to its attack strength. Due to the fact that you have three dragons in your graveyard, my monster gets fifteen hundred extra attack points!” Darien said even as his Buster Blader then went from (3100/1900) to (4600/1900).

'Oh great! I might not loose any life points this turn around, but this is really going to hurt!' The instructor thought glumly.

“Now Buster Blader, attack his face down defense monster and wipe it off the map!” Darien ordered.

Soon after, Darien's monster rushed forward and sliced down with its sword right through the card on the instructor's side of the field revealing Lady of Faith before she disintegrated. Even though he didn't loose any life points, it did hurt just as he thought due to the impact of the explosion.

“I will now end my turn!” Darien said as he handed things back over to the instructor.

'I guess the only thing I can do is continue to mount a defense but if I'm right, this guys about to win the duel. Well it was a good game I'll give him that.', the instructor thought as he drew what he knew might be his last card from his deck. “I will now place another monster in face-down defense position.” The instructor said as he placed the card down on his duel disk. “I will then end my turn.

Darien drew another card and smiled over at the instructor. “Well sir. I can't say it hasn't been fun, because it has, but I have things to do and people to meet so I guess this is it. First I'll Play Gamma the Magnet Warrior in attack mode!” Soon after, Gamma the Magnet Warrior (1500/1800) appeared on the field in attack mode. “And although it really doesn't need it, my monster's attack points go up thanks to my field spell card!” Darien stated even as Gamma went from (1500/1800) to (2000/1400).

“Now then, Gamma attack his face-down defense monster!” Darien ordered.

Suddenly, Gamma the Magnet Warrior rushed forward and punched down on the card that was in front of the Instructor which revealed the Skilled White Magician before it disintegrated. Gamma then returned to Darien's side of the field.

“Alright Buster Blader, end this duel now! Attack the instructor's life points directly!” Darien ordered one last time as he pointed directly at the instructor.

It was then that the entire stadium watched as Buster Blader rushed forward and sliced down across the Instructor's chest which caused a big explosion as well as the instructor fall backwards.

After all the smoke cleared, the instructor slowly got to his feet even as the last of the holograms disappeared from the field.

“I've got to say, that was a good match. I look forward to dueling you again.” The instructor said with a smile as he reached out and shook Darien's hand.

“Thank you, sir. I look forward to that as well.” Darien aid with a smile as he returned the feelings.

O ver at another dueling field, Raye was about to face her own dueling instructor and feeling very nervous about it. The instructor she was about to face was a person who rather by coincidence uses a water-type monster deck and Raye was about to find out how difficult it would be for her to get into the Duel Academy.

“Now than Miss Hino I hope you're ready to give it your all in order to get into our academy. We only take those who manage to pass this test.” The female instructor informed Raye.

“I'm ready when ever you are ma'am!” Raye said as she activated her duel disk.

“Very good! I can't wait to see how you duel!” The instructor stated with a smile.

“So do I.” Raye said returning the instructor's smile.

“Very well then. Let us begin.” The instructor said as she activated her own duel disk.

“Let's duel!” Both women explained as one.

“Now young lady, I believe I shall take the ball into my own court and go first if you don't mind.” The instructor said as she drew her first five cards. 'Hm, let's see here, I have Star Boy, Abyss Soldier, Mobius the Frost Monarch, the field spell A Legendary Ocean and Steel Shell. My field spell, I can play layer when I learn what type of monsters she plays with. I may as well begin with Abyss Soldier just to feel her out.', the instructor thought over her game plan for the moment. “Alright for my first move I will play Abyss Soldier in defense mode!” Soon after Abyss Soldier (1800/1300) appeared on the field in defense mode. “I will also place another card in my trap/spell card slot and end my turn for now.” The instructor said with a smile as she placed the card down on her duel disk.

'I know the effects of that monster due to the fact that Amy has that same monster, but I better not get too over confident! She may or may not have a deck similar to Amy's but that in no certain terms means they duel the same.' Raye thought as she drew her first five cards and looked at them. 'Okay, I've got a pretty good hand at the moment. Blazing Inpachi is a good monster for an attack or defense and seeing as her Abyss Soldier is fifty points less then my monster, I could eradicate it from the field, but I also have to watch out for that face down card she put down too. There's also my Solar Flare Dragon which is good when I want to take a few extra points away from my opponent's life points during my end phase. It also helps pretty good that if I had my Blazing Inpachi out on the field first, she couldn't attack my dragon. I've also got my Legendary Flame Lord in my hand but I can summon him unless I have his spell card Incandescent Ordeal. Then I've got my Volcanic Scattershot which is good for a five hundred life point reduction. Finally I've also drawn a good trap card which is also a great card in my arsenal. I just hope my play good enough to make it into duel academy.'

[Raye quite talking to yourself and play the duel already! You'll never know what you can do unless you try.], Lita sent into Raye's head.

[Gee thanks for the pep talk Lita!], Raye thought back with a sarcastic snarl.

“Are you ever going to make your move or what?” The instructor asked impatiently.

[See even the instructor thinks you're taking for ever.], Lita added.

[Enough! This is Raye's duel so let her duel her way! We all did our own thing and this is hers.], Amara cut in.

[Sorry.], Lita apologized.

[Thanks Amara.], Raye sent with a slight smile. “Yeah I'm going to move, sorry I just like to go over a strategy in my head before I make a move.” Raye said with a shrug.

“Anything that helps you out. Just go ahead and go already okay! We don't have all day.” The instructor said.

“Yes, of course sorry about that! Alright for my first move I play the monster card known as Blazing Inpachi in attack mode!” Soon after, Blazing Inpachi (1850/0) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Now then Blazing Inpachi burn her monster into the ground!” Raye ordered a she pointed towards the instructor's monster.

Suddenly, Blazing Inpachi rushed forward and threw flames from its mouth burning Abyss Soldier to a crisp. It then disintegrated into little partials in the air but thankfully due to the fact that her monster was in defense mode, the Instructor didn't loose any life points.

“I think since that's all I can do for now, I'll end my turn.” Raye said with a kind smile.

'So she has a fire-type monster. I wonder if that means her whole deck is a fire-type deck? We shall soon see!' The instructor thought as she drew a card from her deck. 'Okay it's time to step this duel up a notch. If she is using a fire deck then it time I made her earn her way into Duel Academy! Time to play my field spell card with my next monster card. ', the instructor continued to think before she looked into Raye's eyes. “If you want to make it into Duel Academy then you'll have to earn it. And I won't be easy to beat! I now play the monster card known as Oxygeddon in attack mode!” Soon after, Oxygeddon (1800/800) appeared on the field in attack mode.

[Careful Raye! She's up to something.], Amy sent worriedly over their link.

[Yeah I kind of guessed that, Ames, but thanks for the heads up!], Raye sent back.

“Now I play my field spell card known as A Legendary Ocean!” The instructor continued as she placed her field spell card in her field spell slot. “Now usually, the field spell card I just played would aide both of us; however, if my assumption is correct, you only use Fire-type monsters so only my water-type monsters will be affected. Anyway, this field spell card is treated like the field spell card Umi. The only difference is that this card has the ability to downgrade all Water monsters in both players' hands and on the field by one level. It also increases the ATK and DEF of all Water monsters by two hundred points. But as I said since you only use Fire-type monsters this card won't help you.” The instructor said smugly.

[You know she may not be evil but boy can she be smug about stuff.], Raye thought to the other.

[Just take it easy and you'll be fine!], Michelle stated reassuringly.

[Thanks, Michelle.], Raye returned.

[You're welcome.], Michelle sent back.

“Now then due to the fact that my Oxygeddon is a Water type monster it's attack and defense will both go up by two hundred points.” Suddenly, Oxygeddon went from (1800/800) to (2000/1000). “Now Oxygeddon attack her flame monster and drown it in the mighty ocean!” The instructor ordered her monster.

Suddenly, Oxygeddon turned into a Tsunami of water and pulverized Raye's monster but only taking one hundred and fifty life points away from Raye.

“Well now I believe I shall end my turn and let you have your turn!” The instructor said with a smile.

[Oh yeah time to drop this lady down a peg or two! If she thinks she's the only one with field spell cards she's got another thing coming. Watch this guys, I'm going to make forest fires look tame.], Raye thought smugly.

Up in the stands the other girls as well as Darien are watching her duel.

“And she thought the instructor was too smug.” Amara deadpanned.

“That's Raye for you. She doesn't like it when others do it to her but boy will she dish it out.” Lita said with a sigh.

“She just better keep cool. I had a hard time against my instructor and he was giving it his all.” Darien said.

“We all had a hard time, Endymon. Raye just has a temper on her that she has yet to control.” Trista reminded him.

“Don't we know it! Even if Serena is smart and always calls if she was going to be late for a meeting, Raye would still go off on her. It would never end. I think Raye just wanted to be leader no matter what. She couldn't even understand when Serena wanted to be friends with you older girls, Trista included.” Lita informed the others.

“Well she better learn her place! Even if Serena wasn't our leader now, I was the leader during the Silver Millennium!” Mina whispered so only their group could hear her.

“Oh, she'll learn if I have to whack her upside that stubborn head of hers.” Amara grumbled as she fumed with her arms over her chest.

“Amara, sweetheart you need to calm down! We are not making a scene just so you can have a temper tantrum of your own.” Michelle said softly as she placed a delicate ye strong hand on her lovers shoulder.

“Fine.” Amara said with a sigh.

“Can we watch the duels now or do we want to continue to argue some more?” Darien asked the girls.

“We'll behave.” The woman all said as one.

“Okay!” Darien stated with a sweat drop.

Meanwhile back on the floor at the duel field where Raye was facing her own instructor, it was her turn and she had just drawn a card from her deck.

'Perfect! It's not a field spell card; however, it will sure show her not to mess with fire!' Raye thought with a bright smile crossing her face. “First I play the monster card known as Volcanic Scattershot to the field in defense mode!” Soon after, Volcanic Scattershot (500/0) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Next I play the spell card known as Tremendous Fire, thanks to this spell card I can inflict one thousand points of damage to your life points. The only draw back is I have to take five hundred points of damage to my own life points but it will be well worth it, I assure you!” Raye said as she activated her spell card causing damage to both of their life points.

“I will now end my turn.” Raye said with a soft smile.

“Yes we will.” The instructor returned. “Now I sacrifice my Oxygeddon in order to summon my Amphibian Beast in attack mode!” Soon after, Amphibian Beast (2400/2000) appeared on the field in attack mode.

[Raye watch it, if she has that monster than it's a good bet that she has the monster that can be used in conjunction with it like Orca, Mega Fortress of Darkness.], Amy warned her.

[Got it, thanks for the heads up, Amy.], Raye returned.

“Now you know how this plays out! Thanks to my field spell card, my monster gets an extra two hundred points added to it's attack and defense.” Suddenly, Amphibian Beast went from (2400/2000) to (2600/2200).

“Now Amphibian Beast attack her overgrown salamander and send it to Davy Jones' locker!” The instructor ordered.

Suddenly, the Amphibian Beast rushed forward and slashes it with its wet claws Raye's monster destroying it. Thankfully due to it's being in defense mode, Raye didn't loose any life points; however, that didn't mean that the instructor was safe one bit.

“You may have destroyed my Volcanic Scattershot ma'am; however, you neglected to realize that it was an effect monster. Thanks to you because my Volcanic Scattershot was sent to the graveyard, I can inflict five hundred points more direct damage to your life points!” Raye said with a smug smile even as the effect from her monster took affect on her opponent.

“What ever, I end my turn.” The instructor hissed allowing her own anger to get a hold of her.

'Come on and give me a good card!' Raye thought as she drew another card. 'Damn, I pulled Premature Burial out. I didn't need that card at this moment in time. I have no choice but to summon my Solar Flare Dragon to the field. The only good thing about this is before she send's him to the graveyard I can wipe out five hundred maybe more if I also use my Volcanic Armor trap card, too, the only problem is once she destroys my monster I'll loose life points too. Well it could be worth it, there's only one way to find out.', Raye thought glumly. “Fine I play Solar Flare Dragon in attack mode!” Soon after, Solar Flare Dragon (1500/1000) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“That monster can't do anything to my monster! Why in the world did you put it in attack position?” The instructor asked unsure of Raye's motives.

“Simple, he may not be able to attack your monster, but during the end phase of my turn, he can attack you directly! And for my final move this turn, I place two cards in my trap/spell card slot.” Raye said as she placed two cards down on her duel disk. “I will now end my turn. Go get her Solar Flare Dragon! Solar Flare Assault!”

Suddenly, Raye's Dragon came to life and flew up high into the air over the field and rained fire balls down on top of the instructor taking another five hundred life points from her.

'Fine damn it! That little upstart will pay for that little move!' The instructor thought infuriated. The instructor puts one card on her duel disk and yells out, “Thanks to my Field Spell, I can summon my Orca, Mega Fortress of Darkness in attack mode!“ Soon after, Orca, Mega-Fortress of Darkness (2100/1200-2300/1200) comes to the field in attack mode. The instructor yells out, annoyed, “Orca destroy her pitiful dragon now!” The instructor yelled without thinking her move through.

Suddenly the instructor's monster rushed forward and took a giant bit out of Raye's dragon which inflicted eight hundred points of damage to Raye's life points.

“Not so fast!” Raye exclaimed as she flipped the card that was in her trap/spell card slot. “You fell into my trap dear instructor! Because you destroyed my monster I was able to activate this card, known as Backfire, which is a continuous trap card. Now every time I have to send a Pyro-type monster on my side of the field to the graveyard, I can inflict five hundred points of direct damage to your life points beginning now!” Raye smiled as her face-down card is revealed as the Backfire continuous trap card and as her trap card went to work.

“We'll see how long this lasts girl! I've never lost before and I don't intend to loose now!” The instructor hissed out in anger.

“Geez, it's just a game get real!” Raye exclaimed with a shrug.

The instructor shouts out, angrily, “You want real?! Amphibian Beast, attack!” Amphibian Beast moves in to attack Raye.

Raye pushes a button on her duel disk and shouts out, with a sly grin, “Now, spell card, Dark Wall of Wind negates all direct attacks on my life-points for this turn!” Just then Raye's spell card, Dark Wall of Wind Quick-Spell card, appears and a dark sphere of wind shields Raye from Amphibian Beast's attack.

“Whatever, for now I end my turn.” The instructor said trying to calm down.

'Let's see if I can pull off a win now! Please let me pull a card that I could really use.' Raye thought as she drew her next card. 'Alright, Pot of Greed with this card I can draw two more card from my deck and hopefully I can come up with the card that will allow me to summon my Legendary Flame Lord to the field, but in order to summon him I'll need two monsters whose total level equals seven or more in order to tribute summon him. Thank goodness I have Premature Burial in my hand still, I can summon Solar Flare Dragon from the graveyard and use it to tribute summon along with hopefully another monster I am about to draw from my deck.', Raye thought with a happy sigh. “For my first move I will play the equip spell card known as Premature Burial. At a cost of eight hundred life points I can select on of my monsters from my graveyard and special summon it to the field in face-up attack position. So, here comes Solar Flare Dragon!” Raye said even as the monster card was removed from her graveyard and her life points dropped by eight hundred points. She then placed her card down on her duel disk, Solar Flare Dragon (1500/1000) appears on the field, and equipped the spell card to it. “Next I will play my other spell card known as Pot of Greed! “What are you talking about?” The instructor asked.

“I mean that now I play the spell card known as Incandescent Ordeal! Thanks to this card I can ritual summon the Legendary Flame Lord all I have to do is tribute two monsters whose level equals seven or more from the field or my hand so I sacrifice my Solar Flare Dragon on the field and my Gaia Soul the Combustible Collective from my hand in order to summon Legendary Flame Lord to the field in attack mode!” Raye discards the monster card in her hand with Solar Flare Dragon vanishing from the field while Raye puts the card from her hand on her duel disk. Soon after, Legendary Flame Lord (2400/2000) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Now go Legendary Flame Lord and flambé her monster!” Raye ordered.

Suddenly Raye's monster leapt forward and sliced through the instructor's monster disintegrating it and taking one hundred life points from the instructor too.

“I will now end my turn.” Raye said after putting one card in the spell/trap slots and handing things over to the instructor.

The instructor drew another card from her deck and looked at it. 'It looks like this may be the end of the duel but at least I tried my best to test her strengths. She will make a fine addition to the academy. But even through she might win, it doesn't mean that I won't go out without a fight!.', The instructor thought to herself. “Very well I shall play Nightmare Penguin onto the field in defense mode.” Soon after, Nightmare Penguin (900/1800) appeared on the field in defense mode. “As always, my monster gets an extra two hundred points added to its attack and defense from my Field Spell and an extra two hundred attack points thanks to its ability, which also increases the power of my Beast too..” Suddenly, Nightmare Penguin went from (900/1800) to (1300/2000) while Amphibian Beast's stats rise from (2600/2200) to (2800/2200)! The instructor shouts out, strongly, “Amphibian Beast rushes in to attack Raye's monster.

Raye pushes a button on her duel disk and yells out, “Sorry, but I play my Negate Attack to stop your attack!” Raye's face-down card is revealed to be the Negate Attack trap card and the monster's attack is stopped.

The instructor says, with a sigh, “I end my turn.

“Alright, let's end this!” Raye exclaimed as she drew what could very well in all probabilities be her last card. Raye puts one card in the spell/trap slots and she says, with a sly smile, “I play my Card of Sanctity spell card to force us to draw until we have six cards in our hands!” Raye and the instructor draw from their decks until they have six cards in their hands. Raye puts another card in the spell/trap slots and she says, with a sly smile, “Next, I give my Flame Lord the Salamandra Equip spell and giving him an eight hundred point boost!” Legendary Flame Lord's stats rise from (2400/2000) to (3200/2000). “Now I play the monster Great Angus in attack mode!” Soon after, Great Angus (1800/600) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Okay Legendary Flame Lord take out her Beast!” Raye ordered.

Suddenly, Raye's monster rushed forward and sliced through the instructor's monster obliterating it from the field while costing the instructor 400 life-points.

Raye then puts another card in the spell/trap slots and she says, “Next, I play my Mischief of the Time Goddess spell card! This card allows me to skip your turn and return to my Battle Phase! So, Flame Lord, take out her Penguin!” monster rushed forward and sliced through the instructor's monster obliterating it from the field just like it did with the instructor's Amphibian Beast.

“Now Great Angus, attack her life points directly and end this duel!” Raye ordered one last time as she pointed directly at the instructor.

Next Raye's second monster rushed forward and rammed right into the instructor causing her life points to drop to zero and ending the duel.

As the last of the holograms disappeared from the field, the instructor turned and with a wave over her shoulder said, “It's been great, Miss Hino! I hope you continue to try and play with everything you just showed me today. Until the next time we meet!” she then walked off out of the stadium.

'Man that was hard but now we've all made it into Duel Academy and now all that's left is to save Hotaru and Serena from that mad man.', Raye thought to herself with an exhausted sigh.

[Great work Raye! You did it!], Mina's exuberate voice rang into Raye's head.

[Not so loud Mina, I can hear you just fine.], Raye said as she winced while she walked off the duel field and made her way towards the seats where her friends were.

“Good work Raye, I wasn't sure if you'd make it there for a while.” Darien said with a smile.

“To tell you the truth, neither did I for a moment or two either.” Raye affirmed.

“Well let's see how the last of these kids do so we can see how they duel, too.” Amy suggested with a smile.

“Good idea.” The others said as they quieted down in order to continue watching the last of the matches.

El sewhere in the stadium, Tai was shuffling his deck with a grin that looked like he was ready for anything. His instructor was a man who had a cocky stupid smirk on his face.

“Well kid, I don't know who you are, but I hope you're ready to lose!” The instructor stated with his cocky grin still plastered to his face.

“Oh believe me, I've got a strong Warrior deck and we'll see whose going to loose. I hate to tell you this, teach, but it isn't going to be me.” Tai said placing his deck into his duel disk.

“We'll see about that brat!” The instructor hissed out in anger as he placed his own deck in his duel disk.

“Yeah, I guess we will!” Tai stated with a smile.

“Fine then let's get on with this then.” The instructor said eager to make Tai eat his words.

“LET'S DUEL!” Both the instructor and Tai exclaimed at once as both their duel disks and the holographic generators started up.

“If you don't mind, I believe I will go first!” The instructor said as he drew his first hand and looked down at his cards. 'Hm, I have Swallow Tail Lizard, Plasma Eel, Left Arm Offering, Hayabusa Knight, and X-Head Cannon. I can use my Swallow Tail Lizard to improve my life points, the only problem is I won't have anything to protect it so I should probably place him in defense mode for his own protection as well as my own.', the instructor thought over a strategy for his first move. He then looked up at Tai and a smirk crossed his lips. “Let's see how you fair against this first move, boy! I play the monster card known as Swallow Tail Lizard in defense mode!” the instructor stated even as Swallow Tail Lizard (1900/700) appeared on the field in defense mode. “My monster is an effect monster! During each of my standby phases, thanks to this monster, my life points will get an additional one thousand points added to them.” The instructor puts one card in the spell/trap slots and he says, with a sly grin, “Due to the fact that I can't do anything at this moment, I'll play my Mist Body Equip spell end my turn. This will also activate my monster's special ability and add one thousand points to my life points.” the instructor said with a sneer.

“Fine!” Tai simply stated as he drew his first five cards and looked at his hand. 'Let's see, I've got Obnoxious Celtic Guardian, Armed Samurai - Ben Kei, Mystical Space Typhoon, Lightning Blade, and Command Knight. This maybe a little fun if I pull this off right. And since he doesn't appear to have any trap or spell cards out on the field, I know my monster will be safe. The best thing is if I use my Obnoxious Celtic Guardian, due to the fact that he'll have the best chance to get rid of the instructor's damn lizard and ruin his chances of gaining any more life points!', Tai thought over his battle plan. “Alright for my first move of this duel, I play the monster card known as Obnoxious Celtic Guardian in attack mode!” Tai said placing the monster card on his duel disk causing Obnoxious Celtic Guardian (1400/1200) to appear on the field in attack mode.

“Ha! That puny monster still can't do anything to my monster. Thanks to my Mist Body, he can't be destroyed in battle! In the next turn I'll make a lunch of him for my lizard.” The instructor laughed.

Tai puts one card in the spell/trap slots and he says, with a sly grin, “I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch, sir! I play my Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your spell card!” Just then a large tornado comes onto the field and destroys the hologram of the Mist Body Equip spell card! Tai then says, with a smile on his lips, “I'm not done with my turn yet. I will now equip my monster with the spell card known as Lightning Blade.” Tai said placing the one spell cards in his trap/spell card slot. “Thanks to my Lightning Blade, my monster gets and an added eight hundred attack points added to it, making it stronger than your monster so you do the math!” Tai stated, even as Obnoxious Celtic Guardian went from (1400/1200) to (2200/1200)!

“NOOOO!” The instructor yelled at the top of his lungs.

“Oh, it will be even more painful, now Obnoxious Celtic Guardian, attack his lizard and obliterate it from the field!” Tai ordered his monster. Celtic Guardian then rushed forward and swung his sword slicing the instructor's lizard in half right down the middle. “Now I believe that is all I can do at the moment so I will end my turn for the moment and hand things over to you. And remember, my monster can't be destroyed by monsters with nineteen hundred or more!”

“You'll pay for that you little pee-on!” The instructor exclaimed as he drew a card from his deck and looked down at it. 'I need to protect my life points and this may just do it for the time being until I find a way to bring out my more powerful monsters.' The instructor thought to himself as he looked up at Tai.

“For now I will place a monster card in the face-down defense position.” he said as he placed a card face-down in the monster slot of his duel disk. “I can't do anything else at this moment so I'll end my turn now.”

'I'm not sure what type of monster that face-down of his is so I'll have to be very careful. Let's see what my deck has to offer me this time.' Tai thought as he drew his next card from his deck. 'Silent Swordsman LV3! This might be one of the monsters that can help me out in the long run.' Tai continued to think to himself. “Alright sir, I will now play my Silent Swordsman LV3 in attack mode!” Tai exclaimed even as Silent Swordsman LV3 (1000/1000) appeared on the field in attack mode. “Next I'll have my Obnoxious Celtic Guardian attack your face-down monster card!” Tai stated as he pointed at the instructor's face-down monster card.

'Great I know where this is going.', The instructor thought to himself as a frown crossed his face as Tai monster sliced the instructor's monster card in half reveling it as Drillago (1600/1100).

“Now Silent Swordsman attack his life points directly!” Tai ordered pointing towards the instructor himself.

“Ahhhhh!” The instructor cried out in pain as Silent Swordsman LV3 rushed forward and slashed at the instructor across the chest area relieving him of one thousand life points.

“I'll now end my turn for now.” Tai said with a smile.

The instructor drew a card looked at it and smirked. 'Well it's not a monster card, but with this spell card, I'll be able to take this runt down a peg.' The instructor thought to himself. “Okay you little brat, you stepped out of the frying pan and right into the fire. I hope you like being barbequed! I activate the spell card known as Tremendous Fire!” The instructor yelled throwing his spell card into the Spell/Trap slot of his duel disk. “If you don't know how this card works then I'll tell you. At a cost of five-hundred points of damage to my life points, I can inflict one-thousand points of damage to your life points.” He said with a smirk.

“Ahhhhh!” Tai cried out in pain as he lost a thousand life points. When he looked over towards his opponent, he noticed that he had a smug grin on his face. “How come you're not in pain?!” Tai asked as he breathed heavily.

“Five-hundred points of damage is a walk in the park for me.” The instructor said with a sly smile.

'This guy's unbelievable! I need to get him to loose more life points somehow.', Tai thought to himself.

“Now I place one monster card face-down and end my turn!” The instructor stated as he placed a card in the monster slot of his duel disk.

“Okay, it's my turn now!” Tai exclaimed as he drew a card from his deck and looked at it. “Now then before I play the card I just drew, I think we should allow Silent Swordsman LV3 to upgrade. So I sacrifice Silent Swordsman LV3 in order to summon Silent Swordsman LV5 to the field in attack mode!” Tai stated even as Silent Swordsman LV3 disappeared from the field in a shower of particles only to be replaced by Silent Swordsman LV5 (2300/1000) on the field in attack mode. “Next I play the monster card known as Command Knight in defense mode!” Tai stated even as Command Knight (1200/1900-1600/1900) appeared on the field in defense mode. Tai says, with a sly smile, “And thanks to his special ability, as long as she remains on the field, all Warrior monsters gain a four hundred attack point boost!” The instructor snarls as Tai's Celtic Guardian's stats rise from 2200/1200 to 2600/1800 and Silent Swordsman LV5's stats rise from 2300/1000 to 2700/1000! “And now, Silent Swordsman LV5, attack his ace-down monster!” Tai ordered which caused his swordsman to launch forward and slice right through the instructor's card revealing it as Harpy Lady (1300/1400).

“Sorry to disappoint you, but as you should know, because my monster was face-down, I don't loose any life points and your Command Knight is in defense mode so you can't attack me again.” The instructor smirked.

“Yeah I already knew that! I end my turn for now! Just be ready for me to lay the smack down on ya!” Tai stated with an annoyed look in his eyes.

“Good, now let's see what I can do, shall we?” The instructor asked as he drew a card and looked at it. 'Hmm, looks like all I can do at the moment is put up a good defense. But I'll get a good monster sooner or later!', the instructor thought to himself as he laid another monster card face-down in the monster slot of his duel disk. “I will now end my turn with this other face-down card.” he added placing a card in his spell/trap slot.

“I hope you've got something better than that.” Tai said drawing a card from his deck. Tai puts one card in the spell/trap slots and yells out, “I play Pot of Greed! This gives me two more cards from my deck!” Tai draws two more cards from his deck and he finds that they were Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight (2300/2100) and Double Summon spell card. 'Good, this ought to really help me out! I just need to play my Armed Samurai - Ben Kei and then sacrifice both him and another monster in order to summon my Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight with Double Summon!', Tai thought to himself with a smirk. “I hope you're ready for my next move, sir. First, my Silent Swordsman LV5 gets one final evolution into his strongest form! So I sacrifice my Silent Swordsman LV5 in order to bring Silent Swordsman LV7 to the field in attack mode!” Tai began even as Silent Swordsman LV5 disappeared from the field in a shower of particles only to be replaced by Silent Swordsman LV7 (2800/1000-3200/1000) on the field in attack mode. “Next I play the monster card known as Armed Samurai - Ben Kei in defense mode!” Tai said even as Armed Samurai - Ben Kei (500/800-900/800) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Please don't get too attached to him being here, because now, I play my Double Summon spell card! This card allows me another Normal Summon this turn! So, I sacrifice him along with my Celtic Guardian in order to summon my Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight to the field in attack mode!” Tai says after putting the card in the spell/trap slots and putting the new monster on card on his duel disk. Armed Samurai and Celtic Guardian disappeared in a shower of partials only to be replaced by Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight (2300/2100-2700/2100) in attack mode. Tai then says, with a sly smile, “And thanks to my Command Knight's ability, he gains four hundred extra attack points!”

'This can't be too good!' The instructor thought to himself as he took a step backwards.

“From the way you took a step back, I guess you know what's going to happen next?” Tai asked with a smile.

“Just get on with it so I can make my move.” The instructor fumed.

“Alright! Swift Gaia, attack his face down monster! Lancer strike!” Tai ordered as he pointed towards the instructor's monster card this caused it to be revealed as Harpy's Brother (1800/600). “Now Silent Swordsman, attack his life points directly!” Tai ordered once more which caused the instructor to loose 3200 hundred life points.

The instructor winced in pain as he dropped to one knee.

“I will now end my turn!” Tai stated with a grin.

The Instructor yells out, annoyed, “Okay, kid, playtime is over!” He draws one card from his deck, gains a sly smile, and he says, putting a card in the spell/trap slots, “All right! First, I play my own Pot of Greed spell card and get two new cards!” He draws two more cards, his sly smile gets wider, and he says, putting another card in the spell/trap slots, “I play my Lightning Vortex spell card! By discarding one card from my hand, all of yours monsters have to go by the wayside!” Just then a huge lightning storm crashes onto the field and all of Tai's monsters are destroyed!”

Tai yells out, horrified, “No way!”

The Instructor puts another card on his duel disk and calls out, with a sly smile, “That's right! Next, I play my X-Head Cannon in attack mode!” Soon after, X-Head Cannon (1800/1500) comes to the field in attack mode and he says, strongly, “Attack him directly!” Just then X-Head Cannon fires its two cannons and Tai yelps out as he is hit with the attack causing him to lose 1800 life-points. The Instructor then puts two cards in the spell/trap slots and he says, with a sly grin, “I'll end my turn with two cards face-down! So much for you winning this duel, kid!” The Instructor thinks in his mind, with a sly grin, 'Perfect! With my Left-Arm Offering and Negate Attack trap cards ready to go, all I need to do is stop his attack with Negate Attack and then use my Left-Arm Offering to get my Ragieki spell card! I'll destroy all of his monsters and end this duel with one final attack!'

Instructor says, with an annoyed tone, “What do you mean?”

Tai puts one card in the spell/trap slots and he says, with a sly smile, “Why don't you see for yourself?! I play my Card of Sanctity! Now, both of us have to draw until we have six cards in our hands!” Tai and the Instructor draw from their decks until they have six cards in their hands. Tai then puts one card in the spell/trap slots and he says, with a sly smile, “Next, I play my Heavy Storm spell card! With this card, I can destroy all spell and trap cards on the field!”

The Instructor yells out, horrified, “Oh no!” Just then a huge storm comes onto the field and the Instructor's two trap cards, Left-Arm Offering and Negate Attack, were destroyed.

Tai then puts one card on his duel disk and shouts out, with a sly smile, “Next, I've got a special surprise for you! I remove my Silent Swordsman Level 7 and Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight in order to summon my Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning!” Just then the two monster cards are removed from Tai's graveyard and Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning (3000/2500) comes to the field in attack mode.

The Instructor yells out, horrified, “No way! That card is beyond ultra rare! I heard that only Yugi Moto had that card! How did you get it?!”

Tai says, with a sly smile, “That's for me to know and you to find out! However, you are going to find out its power the hard way! Black Luster Soldier, end this duel! Luster Blade Attack!” Black Luster Soldier moves in to attack the Instructor's X-Head Cannon causing it to explode and he cries out as the force of the explosion strikes him, knocking him to the ground even through it is a hologram and causing him to lose 1200 life-points, ending the duel immediately.

After the holograms fade away, Tai says, with a sly smile, “And that's game, wise guy! You should be thankful to see my soldier! I only bring him out for 'special occasions'!”

Tai walked over to the edge of the dueling stage and jumped down to the floor. He then walked over to where his sister was currently still dueling against her instructor.

Elsewhere on the dueling floor, Kari was standing across from the duel instructor she was instructed to duel and things were a little difficult for her. The life points were 2800 to 1500 in favor of the instructor and the instructor had a while she had on her side of the field in defense mode. Out of the corner of her eyes, Kari had seen her older brother win his duel and then jump off his dueling stage to make his way over to her stage. She was hoping that now she'd be able to win her duel so that she could head to duel Academy with her friends.

“Okay! My draw!” exclaimed Kari. She drew Staircase to the Kingdom of the Angels!

“Yes! Just what I needed to win!” said Kari.

“What could help you win now little girl?” the instructor said sarcastically

“This! I activate one of my special cards, Staircase of the Angels!” said Kari.

“What?” exclaimed the instructor.

“This is one of the special 'Angel' cards. There are only two sets in the world! With this card I can special summon one Angel card from my hand, deck, or graveyard as long as I discard the number of tributes need from the top of my deck, or my hand! And I discard 3 cards from my hand! Descend from the staircase! Michael!” From the top of the arena, a white angel descended! It was robes with white robes and short blue hair. Michael, Angel of Judgment appeared (4000/3500)!

“But that's impossible! It can't be that strong!” said the instructor.

“Too bad, I guess this is the end for you. Oh, and did I mention Michael's affect, by discarding the top card from my deck to the graveyard, I can activate his affect! Judgment of Souls! With this affect, I can send a card to the graveyard!”

“Oh no!” exclaimed the instructor.

“Now Michael, attack! Shots of Heaven!” said Kari.

“No!” the instructor said as his life points depleted to 0.

“Great job Kari!” said Tai.

“Thanks Tai! I wonder how Davis is doing?” she said as they walked to Davis's arena.

Mean while over on another dueling stage, Jun was also having a difficult time against the instructor she was facing. The instructor had 3000 life points left while she had 900 life points left. The instructor had a Dark Magician (2500/2000) exactly like the one that Arcana used against Yugi and Atem, who was known as Yami at the battle, in the Battle City tournament, and a Magician of Black Chaos (2800/2600) on her side of the field with no face-down card while Jun had on Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus (1800/1200) on the field in attack mode with a ruby jewel, a topaz jewel, and amethyst jewel in her spell/trap zones with one face-down card. Crystal Beast Emerald Turtle (600/2000) is in her graveyard.

The instructor says, with a smile, “I thought a welder of one of the two legendary Crystal Beast decks would be tougher than this.”

Jun says, drawing one card from her deck, “Don't count your monsters before they are crushed, girlfriend! This duel isn't over until the last card is played! That's what a good friend taught me!” Jun puts the card in the spell/trap slots and she yells out, “I play Graceful Charity! I draw three cards from my deck and discard two cards from my hand!” Jun draws three cards from her deck, discards Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle (1400/800) and Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth (1700/1600) monster cards to the graveyard, and she says, displaying one card in her hand, “You know, those two cards that I sent to the graveyard were my Crystal Beasts Cobalt Eagle and Amber Mammoth and now, I have all seven of my beasts on the field or in my graveyard.”

The instructor gasps and she exclaims, fearfully, “Wait! I heard of this! T-That means . . .!”

Jun slams the card on her duel disk and yells out, “That's right! I special summon my all-power Rainbow Dragon!” Just then a rainbow of lights comes onto the field and Rainbow Dragon (4000/0), a huge dragon covered in silvery armor-like scales, a ruby, amber, topaz, and emerald jewel near its neck with a sapphire, cobalt, and amethyst jewel attached to the left side of its main body, yellow eyes, a face-plate over its head with a dark blue horn coming from its forehead and another dark blue horn coming out from the back of the face-plate, small yellow dragon wings attached to its upper body, and two large and beautiful crystal blue angel wings coming out of its back, comes to the field in attack mode with a mighty roar causing everyone to see it to gasp in awe.

The instructor yells out, shocked, “The legendary Crystal Beast Rainbow Dragon, but I didn't think that Pegasus developed that card yet!”

Jun calls out, strongly, “Well, you know what they say, assumptions often lead to disaster! Like right now, Rainbow Dragon, attack with Rainbow Refraction!” Rainbow Dragon gains a rainbow halo in front of its mouth and it fires a rainbow beam of energy at Magician of Black Chaos, destroying it, and costing the instruction 1200 life-points.

The instructor draws her card and she thinks, with a sly grin, “Well, she might have summoned one of the most powerful creatures on Earth other than the legendary Egyptian God Monsters, but she left herself open by keeping her Pegasus in attack mode. With my Dark Magician, I can easily finish her off since I just draw what I needed!” The instructor puts one card in the spell/trap slots and yells out, “I play my Equip Spell, Magic Formula! This card can only be given to Dark Magician Girl or Dark Magician and it gives him seven hundred more attack points!” Dark Magician's stats rise from (2500/2100) to (3200/2100) and the instructor shouts out, “Now, Dark Magician, attack her Pegasus and end this duel!” Dark Magician leaps up to attack Sapphire Pegasus.

Jun pushes a button on her duel disk and yells out, “Sorry, but I play my Shift trap card!” Jun's face-down card is revealed to be the Shift trap card and she says, with a sly smile, “With this card, I can switch your monster's attack to any other monster on my field! Namely, my Rainbow Dragon and this move shall end the duel!”

The instructor gasps as her Dark Magician switches from Sapphire Pegasus to Rainbow Dragon and she says, nervously, “Oh, yeah! How is that?!”

Jun says, with a sly smile, “Because I activate my Rainbow Dragon's ability! Go, Rainbow Overdrive!” The jewels on Rainbow Dragon's body glow and Jun says, with a sly smile, “With this ability, Rainbow Dragon joins with all of my Crystal Beasts on the field and gains one thousand attack points for each other!” Sapphire Pegasus turns into a sapphire jewel and goes with the four other jewels into Rainbow Dragon's body, which roars out as its stats rise from (4000/0) to (8000/0). Jun yells out, strongly, “Now, Rainbow Dragon, attack Dark Magician and end this duel right now! As the holograms vanish from the field, Jun says, with a sly smile, “That's game!”

The instructor says, with a smile, “Very good, Ms. Motomiya. You truly are deserving of that legendary deck of yours.”

Jun says, with a smile, “Thanks.”

On the meanwhile from distance from Jun's duel, some of the Sailor Scouts noticed Rainbow Dragon and Raye thinks in her mind, amazed, “Whoa! That was some huge dragon and I sense . . . a great power from it!”

Elsewhere on the stadium floor, Davis was in the middle of his own duel and so far things didn't look to good. The duel had gone on so far back and forth leaving them both close to the end of the duel with the instructor with 2400 life points and he had the monster cards known as Dark Blade (1800/1500), Silent Swordsman Lv7 (2800/1000), Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke (1800/1000), and Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight (2300/2100) all on the field and all in attack mode along with an active Allied Forces continuous spell card which was powering them all up. Davis meanwhile had nothing on his side of the field to aide him and his life points were at 1900. All he had in his hand at that moment was a Dandelion monster card, a Hero Kid monster card, and a Fake Hero spell card and it was Davis's turn.

'Okay, I maybe down and my instructor may have some pretty cool monster that are all copies of the monster cards Tai has in his deck, but all I have to do is believe in myself and my deck, cause it's never let me down before in my life. I just have to trust that I can still pull this off.', Davis thought as he places her had on his deck and with a deep breath draws the card from the top of his deck and takes a look at it. 'Alright! Graceful Charity! I am just pull my bacon out of the fire as it were!’, Davis continued to think with renewed vigor. “Alright for my first move this turn I play the magic card, Graceful Charity. Thanks to this card I can draw three cards from my deck as long as I discard two from my hand.” Davis said as he activated the Graceful Charity spell card and right when he placed his hand on the top of his deck, it begins to shimmer before a blinding light causes him to close his eyes from the pain.

When Davis is able to open his eyes again, he noticed that he was no longer inside of the Odaiba stadium, but now he was located in what looked like the ruins of some great lost kingdom.

“Where in there world am I and where is everyone else?” He asked no one in particular not expecting an answer, but he got one.

“Why you are on what remain of what used to be the beautiful and majestic Moon Kingdom.” A melodious voice said from behind him.

When Davis swung around to see who it was who had spoken he saw before him a sight to behold. A tall woman in her late thirties, early forties that looks in her 20s was standing before him with long silvery hair that stretched down to the ground behind her back that was held up in two pom-poms on top of her head. She also had cerulean blue eyes and wore a silvery colored dress that curved and hugged in all the right places.

“Excuse me but did you just say this was the Moon Kingdom?” Davis asked perplexed by her answer.

“Why yes I did.” The woman said with a polite voice as she gestured behind him.

When Davis turned around towards the area where she pointed to, he saw the Earth as it began to rise up over the horizon.

“Okay?!” Davis exclaimed in shock and amazement. He then turned around so that he could return his attention towards the strange woman behind him. “If this is the Moon how is it possible for us to breathe? I always thought there was no air on the Moon!” He stated.

“Alas for the moment the spot where we now stand will only have air for as long as we are both here. I brought you here young Davis Motomiya because I have felt an inner power within you that could possibly help you save the Earth and a great many others as well.” The woman said.

“Save the Earth how? Why can't the Sailor Scouts do that unless this has something to do with an evil Digimon?” Davis asked.

“Allow me to explain everything to you Davis. First of all my name is Queen Serenity and at one time I was the ruler of a great society known as the Silver Millennium. It was a time of peace for all worlds and all of our people were happy and in love until and evil kingdom known as the Dark Kingdom destroyed all that. They along with their evil Queen, whose name was Queen Beryl laid waste to all the worlds, save for Earth. It was with a heavy heart that I watched Beryl and her army kill millions of my people. I used an ancient artifact known as the Imperium Silver Crystal in order to trap the Dark Kingdom in their own universe. After that I used what little strength I had left to send my people into a better future on Earth. As a contingency plan, if the Dark Kingdom ever got free I set into motion a plan that would have the Sailor Scouts awakened in order to do battle and protect the Earth from enemies that would harm your world.” Queen Serenity informed him.

“I understand all that your highness, but what does that have to do with me?” Davis asked.

“My daughter Princess Serenity was reborn on the Earth as Serena Tsukino. She along with her friends are the Sailor Scouts, unfortunately, they are not strong enough to battle the new evil that is already making its presence known on Earth and I am afraid my daughter as well as one of her protectors: Sailor Saturn have already fallen under his evil sway.” Serenity said with a heavy sigh.

“What?! Two of the Sailor Scouts have been turned evil? How?!” Davis asked shocked.

“This evil being is using the game of duel monsters to brainwash his followers into believing everything he does. If he is not stopped than he shall take over the Earth and all will be lost. For you see this man seeks to totally wipe out all darkness from our universe; however, if you destroy darkness it is inevitable that all light will also be destroyed and vice versa. One can not exist without the other.” Serenity told him.

“What can I possibly do to help when this new enemy of yours has two of the scouts under his control?” Davis asked.

“As I said, this man is using the game of duel monsters to brainwash others into his cult. It is possible that if you duel these brainwashed followers then they will be freed from this vile cult and its leader. The reason I believe you can help is because I know you to have a certain power that will aide you in overcoming all obstacles that come your way. I also believe that you are one of many that are known as Chosen Duelists with the power to change destiny at will. I hate to sound beneath my station, but I am begging you for your help. I know you as a person who as never backed down from a person or in my case, spirit in need.” Serenity begged as she clasped her hands together.

“Your highness, you have my word that I will do everything in my power to help save both your daughter and Sailor Saturn as well as stop this evil man and his cult from destroying the whole balance of the universe.” Davis said with a slight nod.

“Oh thank you so much Davis. Now one other thing before I introduce you to so new friends. Sailor Saturn's Earth name is Hotaru Tomoe and normally she'd be fourteen, but thanks to the evil power of that man and his cult he has aged her a year. Now then strong as your deck surely is, you could use some more power! May I introduce you to some extraordinary individuals?” Queen Serenity said as she indicated off to the side of them.

When Davis looked off to the side, he saw what looked alike a rainbow like effect take place before strange beings walked into view. One was a dolphin like creature, another is a bird, one looked like a badger, one looked like a beetle and one looked like some type of alien.

“Who are you guys?” Davis asked taking a step backwards.

“Young Davis, do not be afraid. We mean you no harm. We are what are known as Neo-Spacians.” The Dolphin like creature began. “I am Aquanos, a Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin.” Aquanos said with a kind smile.

“I am Starfire!” The Beetle creature said with a wave.

“I am Digger!” The Badger creature stated with a wave.

“I am Speedy!” The Bird creature stated with a bird like grin.

“And I am Neos.” The whitish-grey alien creature said with a masculine wave.

“When you return to your duel you will have us as well as a few other friends of ours in your deck. We will work together to protect the Earth from the coming destruction that we hope never befalls your planet.” Aquanos said.

“I look forward to it as well Aquanos.” Davis said with a nod.

“Than good luck Davis Motomiya and may you have great success in everything you do.” Queen Serenity said with a warm smile.

“Thank you your majesty.” Davis said returning the smile.

Suddenly Davis found himself blinded by a bright light yet again. When he was able to see once more, he found himself back in the Odaiba stadium facing off against his instructor with both Tai and his sister as well as Jun standing on the sidelines.

“Davis, what's going on man? Draw your cards and let win this thing! I know you can do it!” Tai encouraged.

“Yeah little brother! Show this instructor that us Motomiya's don't back down from anyone!” Jun added.

“You can do it Davis-kun!” Kari added her own encouragement.

“Thanks for the pep-talk guys!” Davis said as he turned his attention back to drawing his three new cards. First he draws three new cards to his hand and the he discards Elemental Hero Burstinatrix and Card Excluder to his graveyard. What he saw surprised yet amazed him. 'Wow I drew Elemental Hero Neos and Neo-Spacian Glow Moss! Let's see what these guys can do!' Davis thought to himself as he pulled his Fake Hero spell card from his hand.

“Okay first I play the spell card known as Fake Hero in order to summon a monster the likes of which you've never seen before! So come on out Elemental Hero Neos in attack mode!” Soon after, Elemental Hero Neos (2500/2000) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“Elemental Hero Neos?!” Tai asked perplexed.

'I didn't know Davis bought new cards before we came here. When did he find time to get them?' Jun asked herself.

'I wonder when Davis-kun got that card?' Kari asked herself.

“That's not possible! There shouldn't be a card like that!” The instructor exclaimed shocked which added to the others questions.

“Well he's standing right here before you and that's not all! Now I summon Neo-Spacian Glow Moss also in attack mode!” Soon after, Neo-Spacian Glow Moss (300/900) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“That card shouldn't exist either!” The instructor exclaimed again anger becoming evident in his voice.

“Well then I guess you're in for another shocker tonight! Elemental Hero Nero, Neo-Spacian Glow Moss time for some contact fusion, so, form to become Elemental Hero Glow Neos!” Davis exclaimed towards his two monsters.

“Contact Fusion?!” the instructor as well as the observers exclaimed in unison.

Davis says, with a sly grin, “That's right, pal! By returning Neos and Glow Moss to my deck, I can fuse them without Polymerization!” The instructor and the observes gasp in unison as the two monsters combine in a bright light as the monster cards are returned to Davis' deck while he puts a new fusion monster card on his duel disk. Just then Elemental Hero Glow Neos (2500/2000), a new humanoid monster that looks like Neos, but with much of his body glowing, and mysterious vine-like hair coming from the back of his head, comes to the field in attack mode.

“Now then since you obviously don't know anything about my new monster let me inform you. My monster has a special ability to destroy one face-up card on your side of the field and depending on what card that is Neos gets to do one of three things and we'll get to that in one moment but first, Elemental Hero Glow Neos, destroy his Allied Forces spell card!” Davis ordered to which Elemental Hero Glow Neos sent out a pulse of energy that disintegrated the instructors spell card.

“My spell card!” The instructor exclaimed in shock.

“That's right, as I said my new monster lets me destroy one face-up card on your side of the field. Now then depending on which card he destroys, Glow Neos has three additional abilities. If he had destroyed a monster card, Glow Neos couldn't have battled for that turn. If he had destroyed a spell card has he just has, then he can attack your life points directly. And if he had destroyed a trap card than nothing would have happened and he would have changed into defense mode.” Davis informed him.

“But that means that this duel is over!” The instructor exclaimed.

“Yes I do believe that is the correct hypothesis. Now Glow Neos attack the instructor's life points directly and end this duel!” Davis ordered.

Suddenly, Elemental Hero Glow Neos suddenly leapt into the air and over the instructor's monsters to land a powerful punch on the instructor himself. This caused him to loose every last one of his life points and for Davis to win the duel. As the last of the holograms disappeared from the field, Jun jumped up on the stage and rushed towards her brother tackling him in a bone crushing bear huge.

“You did it, little brother! I still don't know where those monster cards came from but you did it!” Jun exclaimed as she continued to huge him.

“Jun can't breathe!” Davis gasped for breathe.

“Oh, sorry Davis!” Jun exclaimed as she let him go.

“That was great Davis-kun, you did very well.” Kari said even as a deep blush crossed her cheeks.

“Kari's right, man you did just fine. Now we're all going to Duel Academy and it's going to be great.” Tai said with a smile as he patted the young man on the back.

“Thanks Tai! Now what say you guys, we go sit down and watch the last duel of the day?” Davis suggested.

“I think that's a great idea. Let's go join the others.” Tai agreed as he and the others went to sit down.

Final ly, Over on the last of the duel fields, there is one particular duel going between a male proctor wearing an purple version of a male Obelisk uniform dueling a sixteen year old male with black hair that's combined and gelled with some strands of hair hanging up in the hair with dozen strands of black hair hanging over his forehead, deep brown eyes, and wearing a light green jacket over a black shirt with green pants and black shoes.

The proctor asks the teenage boy, “Yusuke Urameshi?”

The teenage boy, our former spirit detective, Yusuke Urameshi, replies, “Yeah!”

The proctor tells Yusuke, “I will be your dueling instruction for your field exam. My name is Nigel. Are you ready?”

Yusuke replies, with a sly smile, “Ready as I will ever be.” Yusuke and Nigel then activate their duel disk, their life-points counters displays 4000 life-points for each duelist, and they draw five cards from their decks.

Yusuke and Nigel yell out in unison, “Let's duel!”

In the stands, in the audience, stood ten figures watching Yusuke's duel beginning. There was a sixteen year old female with blackish/really dark brown that can be mistaken for black in a ponytail that goes to her shoulders, chocolate brown eyes, and she is wearing a blue sleeveless shirt, red mini-skirt, white socks, and brown formal shoes, showing a beautiful female figure that can rival Alexis Rhodes and our Moon Princess, Serena Tsukino.

By the right side of the sixteen year old female is a female of the same age with brunette brown hair that goes half-way behind her back, brown eyes, and wearing a brown sleeveless shirt, light blue mini-skirt, white socks, and black formal shoes, showing a very good feminine figure.

By the brunette was a young male of sixteen years of age who looks like a male version of the brown haired girl, except his brown hair is in the hairstyle of Atticus Rhodes, and he is wearing a red loud Hawaiian shirt, that fits over his muscular chest, light blue jeans with a black belt that held a card pouch, and white sneakers.

By the left side of the sixteen year old male with black hair is another female of the same age with long black hair, but shortened up with braids in her hair, brown eyes, and she is wearing a dark blue shirt, black fingerless fighting gloves on her hands, light blue tight fitting jeans, and black sneakers on her feet, showing an unremarkable build with regular sized bust for a girl of her age under the shirt, but she displays quite an athletic build, and this gives her the look of a tomboy.

Behind the three females and one male is another male of the same age as the other three with red hair that's short and well-combined with a V shape across the top portion of the scalp, black eyes, and wearing a red shirt under yellowish-orange and red sweater, dark blue jeans, and white sneakers.

The next to the red haired male was a young teenage girl looks to be 16 years of age with pitch black hair that flow down to one-quarter of her back behind her back, deep brown eyes, and she is wearing a dark blue shirt, with long sleeves, a light blue mini-skirt and brown formal shoes, showing off her own sexy and seductive form.

Next to the black haired female was a male humanoid figure wearing a red male Japanese kimono with long silver hair flowing down to three-quarters behind his back, two white dog ears coming out from the top of his scalp, and golden eyes along with claws instead of fingers on his hands. He has a set of beads around his neck and a sheath holding a Japanese-like attached to the left side of the waist area of his kimono.

Standing nearby, there is a young male of 17 years of age with rose red hair that flows slightly past his shoulders with one strand of red hair flowing by the front side of each ear with emerald green eyes, and he is wearing a white shirt over a black jacket with white pants and black shoes.

The next person is a short person with wildly spiked black hair, even more than Davis's red hair, with white trim in it, red eyes, and wearing a black shirt, pants, and boots under a black cloak.

The final person is a female with light blue hair and red eyes and wearing an ice-blue kimono with white socks and open-toed sandals, which exposed the white socks that she wears over her feet.

The dark brown haired teenage girl says, seriously, “It's starting! Yusuke better not screw up.”

The brown haired girl tells the dark brown haired teenager, in a kind and reassuring tone, “Don't worry, Hikari! I'm pretty sure that Yusuke will win this duel! I mean the only thing he's good at besides fighting is Duel Monsters, you know.”

The brown haired teenage male says, with a cheerful smile, “Sissy's right, Kari! You don't have to worry about him!”

The brown haired girl yells at the brown haired male, annoyed, “For Heaven's sake, Alister, will you please stop calling me that!?”

The black haired girl says, in her own kind and reassuring tone, “In a way, Keiko is right! Yusuke's always pulled wins at the last minute!”

Hikari says, plainly, “I hope you're right, Kagome.”

Within the exam fields, the duel between Yusuke and Nigel is about to begin.

Nigel says, plainly, “Since you are a possible student, I think that it is fair that you go first.”

Yusuke draws one card from his deck and he says, “Gee, Thanks.” Yusuke places a card onto the disc and calls out, “I summon Luster Dragon in attack mode!” Soon after, Luster Dragon (1900/1600) appears on the field in attack mode. Yusuke sends two cards into the spell/trap slot and calls out, “Next, I'll place a couple of face-downs and that's it!”

Nigel draws one card from his deck and says, “Ah. Playing it safe since it is your first turn, huh? Pretty good idea since you doesn't know my deck and strategy, yet.” Nigel sends a card into the spell/trap slot and calls out, “I activate my Reinforcement of the Army spell card!”

Back at the stands, the dog eared humanoid asks Kagome, curiously, “Hey Kagome, what did that guy just played?”

Kagome replies, “It's called Reinforcement of the Army, Inuyasha! You see, whenever it's activated, Yusuke's proctor can take any level four or below monster from his deck and add it to his hand.”

Back at the duel, Nigel gets out a card from his disc, fans it and says, “Now, I'm allowed to bring on level four or below monster from my deck and add it to my hand!” Nigel takes out a card from his deck, puts it in his hand, shuffles the deck, and places back to his disc. Nigel places the card onto the disc and calls out, strongly, “And here it is the card that I picked, Gearfried the Iron Knight!” Soon after, Gearfried the Iron Knight (1800/1600) appears in attack mode. Nigel sends a card into the spell/trap slot and calls out, “Next, I'll activate my Fusion Sword Murasame Blade to my Gearfried, giving it eight hundred points!”

Yusuke gasps in shock and yells out, “And Gearfried's effect can't destroy it!”

Nigel calls out, strongly, “That's right!” A katana had appeared forcibly to Gearfried's right hand, increasing his stats from 1800/1600 to 2600/1600. Nigel points at Luster Dragon and calls out, “Gearfried, attack his dragon now!” Gearfried charges towards Luster Dragon with his sword ready to attack.

Yusuke presses a button on his disc and calls out, “I activate my Magic Cylinder trap card!” Yusuke's face-down card revealed to be the Magic Cylinder trap card and two cylindrical figures appeared from the trap card image. Yusuke says, with a sly smile, “Thanks to Magic Cylinder, Gearfried's attack is negated and reflected back to you!”

Nigel yells out, shocked, “Oh no!” Gearfried's attack went through one cylindrical figure to the other and slams into Nigel, taking away 2600 life points, in one shot.

The sixteen year old female that looks like a tomboy says, with a sly and cheering tone, “Awesome! Yusuke took the lead!”

The red haired male says, cheerfully, “You're right, Kira! Urameshi knocked his proctor's life points more than a half!”

The rose red haired male says, in a serious tone, “However, the duel isn't over yet.”

Nigel says, with a smile, “Nice job, Yusuke! You managed to take a huge lead! But don't let it get to your head that you've won.”

Yusuke says, with a sly smile, “I didn't even think about that!”

Nigel says, in a serious tone, “You shouldn't! I'll end my turn!”

Yusuke draws one card from his deck, places one card onto the disc and he says, “I summon another Luster Dragon in defense mode!” Beside the first one, Luster Dragon (1900/1600) appears in defense mode. Yusuke says, in a serious tone, “Then, I'll switch my other dragon in defense mode and end my turn!”

Nigel draws one card from his deck and says, with a smile, “Very good, Mr. Urameshi, but this duel is far from over. Now, Gearfried, attack one of his Luster Dragons!” Gearfried charges towards Yusuke's Luster Dragons.

Yusuke pushes a button on his duel disc and says, “Sorry, Nigel, but I play a trap! Negate Attack!” Yusuke's face-down is revealed to be Negate Attack and a force-field stops Gearfried's attack. Yusuke says, with a sly smile, “Thanks to this trap card, your attack is stopped and you can't attack for the rest of the turn!”

Nigel says, “I will end my turn!”

Yusuke draws one card from his deck and says, putting the card in the spell/trap slots,

“Now, I play my Card of Demise spell card! I draw until I have five cards in my hand, but in five turns, I lose my entire hand!” Yusuke draws five cards from his deck, gives a smile at his cards, and says, “Unfortunately, this is the last turn!”

Nigel asks, curiously, “Why's that?”

Yusuke sends a card into the spell/trap slot and calls out, “Because I'll activate this: Future Fusion!” Yusuke gets out his deck, fans it and says, “Now, I can send to the graveyard, any fusion material monsters from my deck to summon a fusion monster!” Yusuke takes out three cards and displays them to Nigel.

Nigel gasps in shock and yells out, stunned, “How did you get those cards!?”

Yusuke was displaying three Blue-Eyes White Dragons (3000/2500 X3) monster cards, sending them into the graveyard, and calls out, “Now, by sending three Blue-Eyes White Dragons, I can summon: Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!” Soon after, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (4500/3800) appears on the field in attack mode, behind Yusuke.

Yusuke says, with a sly smile, “The way I got this dragon was from a tournament years back that my cousin, Kagome, and I won. Along with the three Blue-Eyes White Dragons, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, Red-Eyes Black Chick, Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, Five-Headed Dragon, Chaos Emperor Dragon-Envoy of the End, and Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning.”

Nigel gasps in shock and says, stunned, “Oh yeah!”

Yusuke yells out, in a strong tone, “Now, my dragon, attack with Neutron Blast!” Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon blasts its three blasts at Gearfried, destroying it, and costing Nigel 1900 life points, ending the duel.

Soon after, the final images had disappeared, returning the field to normal.

Aft er the six duelists returned to the stands to sit with their friends, the announcer came out to give one final speech before he dismissed the new students so that they could all go catch the boat that would take them to their new destination.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I just want to thank you all for coming out here and participating in these entrance exams. I also want to congratulate all of you who were able to win your duels and win a spot at the academy. To all of you who didn't make it this year, please continue to get stronger and I have no doubt that next year you too will make it to the academy. Now then I whish you all a good day and see you all around. Good bye, you may all leave now!” The announcer said as he walked off the main stage.

('White Dorm' the next Morning)

The next morning inside the Obelisk 'White Dorm' Sartorius was sitting at his table going over his cards to see if he had what he needed in order to turn Jaden Yuki when the cards began to reveal something else to him due to the fact that the Star card, the Temperance card, the Knight card, the Justice card, the Moon card, and the Priestess card (I made up this one, please replace with the one you said represents Raye), and the Fool card.

'Interesting, the cards are telling me that besides Jaden Yuki there are other Chosen Duelists as well. It also looks like I may already have one of them under my control in the form of Miss Tsukino. I already know Mister Yuki is the Fool card but who are these others represented by? I must learn who the other chosen Duelists are and get them into the Society of Light at any cost.', Sartorius thought to himself before suddenly a knock back to his door.

“Enter!” Sartorius stated not even looking up.

“You wished to see us sir?” Alexis asked as both she and Chazz bowed down to one knee.

“Ah yes welcome Alexis and Chazz, I have a little surprise for you. It seems that while I was out on my recruiting drive I found not one, but two worthy duelists to join our ranks.” Sartorius said as he placed his cards on the table and then looked up into the shadows.

“Would you two please come out and show yourselves?” He asked politely.

At Sartorius request, two young ladies both wearing the Obelisk 'White uniform' stepped into the light, both of them with cold looks in their expressions. One of them was Serena Tsukino still wearing her trade mark hair style. The other was Hotaru Tomoe, but unlike Serena, Hotaru looked like she was a whole year older.

“Alexis, Chazz I would like you to meet Miss Serena Tsukino and Miss Hotaru Tomoe. Serena is a fine Cyber Angel and Dragon deck duelist while Hotaru was a fine up and coming Dark-type deck duelist. I have turned her deck into a white deck and I have no doubt that with the more duels she wins, she will gain more experience. Now then I have informed both Miss Tsukino and Miss Tomoe of the situation here on the Island and it has also just been revealed to me that Miss Tsukino is a Chosen Duelist so with her help we may yet see our goals realized. Now then I want you all to go out and bring more students and maybe some of the staff if you can into our great society. If anything comes up, I shall inform you all immediately.” Sartorius said after he made introductions.

“Yes Master Sartorius!” All four teens exclaimed coldly with a bow before they left the room.

Almost immediately Sartorius was interrupted by a video call.

“Yes what is it?” Sartorius asked pressing a button.

“Excuse me if I am interrupting something important Master Sartorius!” One of the lower Society of Light members said with a slight bow to show respect.

“There is no interruption my friend. I have just ended a meeting with a few of the senior members of the Society. Now what seems to have you on edge?” Sartorius asked.

“I thought you would like to know sir, the entrance exams from yesterday were being televised again today and I sent a copy to your personal viewer. I thought you'd like to see that one Davis Motomiya has cards similar if not exactly alike Jaden Yuki's.” The Society member informed the leader of the group.

“Very well thank you for informing me of the situation. I shall take a look at the tape and see if these new students are worthy of joining the Society of Light.” Sartorius said with a cold smile.

“Yes sir!” The Society member said with a slight bow before he disappeared from the screen.

'Now let's see what has my Society member so worked up.', Sartorius said as he turned the video screen on once more and a taped copy of yesterday's entrance exams began to play showing everything that the lower member had informed him about.

'Oh this is a great day! These new students might help me see my dreams of a darkness free universe happen and with the two warriors of the Moon's help, those new students will join the Society of Light whether they like it or not. For everyone will be one with the light at one point or another.', Sartorius thought as an evil sneer crossed his lips as he went back to his cards.

Over the course of the morning, the four SOL controlled students went about fulfilling their master's orders. Chazz continued to brainwash more boys into the Society of Light, while the three girls went about converting more and more girls into the Society of Light. Now we find Serena in a duel between herself and Jasmine. Jasmine was taking a nice private walk by herself trying to think of a way to help free Alexis and the others from what ever it was the supposed saviors of our world; the Society of Light, when she ran across Serena who was standing directly in front of her.

“Who-who are you?!” Jasmine asked taking a step back.

“I am Serena Tsukino, one of the newest members of the Society of Light.” Serena said with a cold steely smile on her face.

“What do you want?” Jasmine asked yet again fearful about the situation about to take place.

“Sartorius-sama believes that it is time for all the other students on the island to become apart of our great society. So the others and I have been out looking for wayward students who are off by themselves.” Serena said activating her duel disk. “So today's your lucky day none-believer, it's time for you to see the light!”

“Fine, but I'm a pretty good duelist so you'll have your hands full.” Jasmine said as she activated her own duel disk. 'I have to be careful, if I don't give it my all, I may lose to this white freak.' Jasmine thought to herself.

“LET'S DUEL!” Both girls yelled out in unison.

“I believe I'm feeling generous, I shall allow you to go first non-believer.” Serena said with a cold sneer.

“Fine, let's do this!” Jasmine stated as she drew five cards from her deck and checked them over. 'Hm, let's see I've got Marshmellon, Warrior of Zera, Amazoness Paladin, Shallow Grave, and Pride of Tribe. My Amazoness Paladin and Pride of Tribe might help me out at a later time, but I could use my Marshmellon right now to help with this brainless white follower.', Jasmine thought to herself as she went over her opening move. “Alright for my first move, I'll place a monster in the face-down defense position. And I'll place another card on the field and call it a turn.” Jasmine said as she placed a monster face-down on the monster section of her duel disk as well as another card in the trap/spell slot.

“Well, I'm afraid that if that's all you've got then this duel will be over faster than I thought it would.” Serena said as she drew five cards from her deck. 'I can't believe this! I thought she said she was a strong duelist. Well it's only the opening move so maybe she'll show me more of a challenge. I hope the others are having better luck showing the none-believers the light.' Serena thought as she looked down at her first hand. 'Hm, I must remember to thank Master Sartorius for the new additions to my deck. Yes, I have a few of my new cards in my hands. There's Snow Sprite, Element Dragon, Paladin of White Dragon, White Night's Fort, and Sacrifice Icicle. I maybe able to end this duel quickly if I do this right,' Serena thought with a cold stare. “First, I place Snow Sprite on the field in attack mode!” Serena stated even as Snow Sprite (1100/700) appeared on the field in attack mode.

“I've never heard of that monster before!” Jasmine stated in shock.

“Well you're about to be very acquainted with it, because thanks to this monster, you can't activate spell cards from your hand also you can't activate spell cards that you set in the turn you place them on the field.” Serena said with a cold sneer.

“No! That's not fair!” Jasmine yelled.

“Oh it's very fair little girl! And I'm only just beginning. Next I play the spell card known as White Night's Fort!” Serena stated as she placed a card into her trap/spell slot on her duel disk. “Thanks to this card neither one of us can activate a trap card during the other duelist's turn.

'No, she's practically made it almost a sure thing for her to win. What am I going to do?' Jasmine asked herself.

“Now then, Snow Sprite attacks her face-down card and sends it to her graveyard!” Serena ordered as she pointed towards Jasmine's monster. When Serena's monster rushed forward to attack Jasmine's monster, she found that nothing happened.

“Ha! You've stepped right into my trap!” Jasmine stated with a smirk.

“What do you mean?!” Serena asked with a cold stare.

“I mean that the monster you've just attacked is known as Marshmellon. When my opponent, namely you attacks my Marshmellon, when it's face-down you take one-thousand points of damage to your life points. And because my monster was in defense mode, I lose nothing. You should also know that my Marshmellon can't be destroyed in battle at any time.” Jasmine said with a sly smirk.

“Hm, you may have gotten lucky, but I have destiny and the light on my side and I know I'll win this duel!” Serena fumed with a cold annoyed tone. “For now I'll end my turn and hand things over to you.”

“Let's see what else I can do to you.” Jasmine said as she drew a new card from her deck. 'This might help out later, but for now, it's time to pull out my Amazoness Paladin and have a go at destroying her Snow Sprite,' Jasmine thought with a hopeful smile. “For my next monster, I play the monster known as Amazoness Paladin to the field in attack mode.” Jasmine said even as Amazoness Paladin (1700/300) appeared on the field in attack mode.

'Great that monster of hers has enough ATK points to wipe out my Snow Sprite. It's a good thing I have a little back up in my corner. Let her believe she has the ability to withstand the light. But in the end she along with everyone else on this island will see the light just as Sartorius-sama showed Hotaru-chan and I the light,' Serena thought to herself as she kept a cold stoic look on her face.

“Now then, Amazoness Paladin attack her Snow Sprite and wipe it off the map!” Jasmine ordered pointing at Serena's monster. When Jasmine's monster rushed forward, it cut Serena's monster right in half which caused her to loose six-hundred life points.

“Now that is all I can do for the moment so I will end my turn.” Jasmine said with a triumphant smile.

“I wouldn't get cocky if I were you non-believer! This duel is far from over, and I promise you when we're done, you will have seen the light.” Serena said plainly.

“We'll see about that!” Jasmine hissed out in anger.

“Yes we shall.” Serena said drawing another card from her deck and a dark cold grin covered her face. “I'm afraid I've just drawn one of the cards that will lead me to victory just as Sartorius-sama showed me would happen when he sent the others and I out on our missions.” Serena said with a cold grin.

“What are you talking about?” Jasmine asked taking a step back.

“Here, let me show you what I mean. First I play the spell card known as White Dragon Ritual!” Serena stated as she placed a card in her spell/trap slot of her duel disk. “Thanks to this card I can Ritual Summon Paladin of White Dragon, as long as I offer monsters whose total level equals four or more as a tribute from the field or hand, so I send my Element Dragon in my hand to the graveyard in order to bring Paladin of White Dragon to the field in attack mode!” Serena exclaimed even as Paladin of White Dragon (1900/1200) appeared on the field in attack mode.

'Oh this isn't good! Her monster is stronger then my Amazoness Paladin. The only problem I've got is I can't play my Pride of Tribe trap card during her turn so I won't be able to bring out a new Amazon monster when she destroys my monster.', Jasmine thought with s glum look.

“Now Paladin of White Dragon attack her Amazon and obliterate it from the field!” Serena ordered.

“Ah!” Jasmine yelled as Serena's monster rushed forward and stabbed Jasmine's monster through the chest area causing her to lose two-hundred life points.

“Now I shall end my turn and hand things over to you for the moment.” Serena said with a cold evil smile.

“Let's see what I can do now.” Jasmine said as she drew her next card. 'This ought to at least keep her from attacking me for the time being. I just don't know what else she has in-store for me,' Jasmine thought worriedly as she looked up at Serena. “I sacrifice my Marshmellon in order to bring Airknight Parshath to the field in attack mode.” Jasmine said even as Marshmellon disappeared from the field in a show of particles only to be replaced by Airknight Parshath (1900/1400) on the field in attack mode. “Do to the fact that I can't do anything else, I hand things over to you.” Jasmine said ending her turn.

“Hm, I hope you're ready for my next move.” Serena said as she drew her next card. “I summon Illusion Ice Statue to the field in attack mode!” Serena exclaimed slamming a new monster card down on her monster slot of her duel disk which caused Illusion Ice Statue (0/0) to appear on the field in attack mode.

“What's the point? That monster has no ATK or DEF points.” Jasmine said perplexed my Serena's new move.

“Let me explain the way this monster works. You see he's an effect monster, and that effect allows Illusion Ice Statue to take on the ATK and DEF of one monster that's on my side of the field, and since I have Paladin of White Dragon on my side of the field at the moment, my Illusion Ice Statue gains its attack and Defense points.” Serena said with an evil sneer even as Illusion Ice Statue went from (0/0) to (1900/1200).

'Darn, now she's got two strong monsters on her side of the field,' Jasmine thought to herself.

“It seems I can't do anything else for the moment so I will end my turn.” Serena said ending her turn.

“Alright! My turn!” Jasmine stated as she drew another card and looked at it.

'All I can do for the moment is place this card in defense mode,' Jasmine thought as she placed the card she just drew down on the monster slot of her duel disk. “I place a monster face down on the field in defense mode and end my turn.”

“Let's do this.” Serena said drawing another card from her deck. “It's time to up the stakes a bit. I am about to bring out one of my strongest monsters in my deck. My Paladin of White Dragon has a special effect. I have the ability to tribute him in order to summon a certain stronger monster, so I send my Paladin of White Dragon in order to play one of my Blue Eyes White Dragons that are in my deck!” Serena stated as she removed Paladin of White Dragon from the field, putting the card in her graveyard. She then went through her deck and brought out a certain card and placed it on the field. “Now I summon my Blue Eyes White Dragon to the field in attack mode!” Serena exclaimed even as Blue Eyes White Dragon (3000/2500) appeared on the field in attack mode.

'A Blue-Eyes White Dragon?! This may hurt somewhat.', Jasmine thought to herself.

Serena says, with a cold sly smile while putting a card in the spell/trap slots, “Normally, my Blue-Eyes White Dragon can't attack since I summoned him using my Paladin, but thanks to my Mischief of the Time Goddess I am able to skip your turn and allow my dragon to attack!” Serena then points to Jasmine's Airknight Parshath and exclaims, coldly, “Now then Blue Eyes White Dragon, attack her Airknight Parshath with White Lightning Attack and obliterate it!”

Serena's dragon opened its mighty mouth and sent out balls of lightning which struck Jasmine's monster totally obliterating it which took out eleven-hundred life points.

“Now Illusion Ice Statue, attack her face down monster and send it to the grave as well!” Serena continued with a sneer.

Serena's other monster lunged forward and slammed it's fist down over the face-down card which made it become revealed as Shining Angel.

“Thanks! Due to the fact that you destroyed my Shinning Angel in battle, I get to summon one Light monster with an ATK of fifteen hundred or less in face-up attack position.” Jasmine said with a smile as she took her deck out of her duel disk and went through it until she found Cyber Petit Angel (300/200) and put it on the field in attack mode. She then proceeded to reshuffle her deck and placed it back in her duel disk. Jasmine drew another card from her deck and looked up at Serena. “You should know that because I was able to special summon my Cyber Petit Angel, I can select one Machine Angel Ritual card from my deck and add it to my hand.” Jasmine said as she did just that.

“That won't help you for long, none-believer! I shall end my turn and allow you to make your last move.” Serena said turning things over to Jasmine.

“Next I play my Warrior of Zera on the field in defense mode” Jasmine said even as Warrior of Zera (1600/1600) appeared on the field in defense mode. “Next, I switch my Cyber Petit Angel into defense mode!” Cyber Petit Angel then switches from attack mode to defense mode. “Due to the fact that that's all I can do, I will end my turn.” Jasmine said handing things over to Serena.

“I hope you enjoyed your last turn, non-believer!” Serena said as she drew her next card. Serena says, putting the card in the spell/trap slots, “I play Pot of Greed and draw two more cards from my deck!” Serena draws her two cards and a sinister smile crossed her lips. “I'm afraid I have just drawn the card that will end this whole thing.” Serena said looking up at Jasmine.

“What do you mean?” Jasmine asked suddenly scared.

“I mean that I have just drawn my White Veil spell card and with it, I shall win this duel! I will now equip it to my mighty Blue Eye's White Dragon!” Serena stated as she placed her White Veil spell card into her spell/trap slot on her duel disk which caused her dragon to take on a sickly white shine. Serena puts another card in the spell/trap slots and she says, with an evil sly grin, “And I will play the card that will end this duel! My Fairy Meteor Crush equip spell! Thanks to this card, when my Blue-Eyes destroys a monster in defense mode with less defense points than its attack points, the difference gets taken from your score!” Jasmine gasps in horror as Serena points to her Warrior of Zera. “Now let's start things off with my Illusion Ice Statue! Attack her Warrior of Zera monster card!” Serena ordered pointed at Jasmine's defense monster which caused her Ice Statue to lunge forward and slam it's fist into Jasmine's monster obliterating it. “Now it's time to end this duel and for you to see thee light! Blue Eye's White Dragon, attack her pathetic Angel with White Light Lightning Attack and bring her into the Light!” Serena ordered one final time with caused her dragon to launch a beam of sickly white lightning right at Jasmine's remaining monster obliterating it from the field and costing her twenty-eight life points and the duel.

“Ahhhhh!” Jasmine cried out in pain as she fell to her knees and then collapsed onto her stomach as her world goes totally white.

After the duel was over and the last of the holograms left the field, Serena's PDA suddenly went off signaling that someone was trying to contact her.

“This is Serena, what can I do for you?” Serena asked with a cold plain tone activating her PDA.

“Ah, Miss Tsukino, I trust you have been having luck in the mission that I gave you and the others?” Sartorius said from the screen.

“Of course Sartorius-sama! In fact I have just managed to bring one of Alexis-chan's friends into the light.” Serena said with a cold smile as she stared over at the unconscious form of Jasmine lying not to far from her.

“Very good, my dear, very good indeed. Now as to the reason I am getting in contact with you. It seems that your beloved along with your friends will be arriving at the dock with in the hour. I am sending you along with Miss Rhodes, Miss Tomoe, and Mister Princeton in order to bring them into the light.” Sartorius informed her.

“We won't let you down sir.” Serena said with cold obedient tone while giving an incline of her head.

“I know you won't my dear. Do not worry about Alexis' friend. I shall send other Society members in order to retrieve her and bring her back to the dorm.” Sartorius said.

“Yes sir!” Serena stated with a cold serious tone as she turned off her PDA. 'Don't worry Darien-chan, soon you and the others shall see the light just as Hotaru-chan and I have,' Serena thought before she headed off towards the docks.

(Somewhere out at sea, near Duel Academy Island)

Meanwhile somewhere out at sea a few miles away from the island, the boat that was carrying the passengers bound for Duel Academy was slowly making its way towards the island. Somewhere on the main deck over by the bough of the boat, the heroes and heroines of the Sailor Scouts and Digidestined along with Yusuke Urameshi's group. As they were sitting around chatting with each other, two other groups of friends made their way over to the others. The first group was made up of two young men and two young women, while the other group was made up of five young men and one woman.

The first young woman from the first group was a fifteen year old girl with bright pink hair that went to the top of her shoulders, a headband across the middle of her scalp with a metal plate in the center of the headband with the image of leaf engraved on it, lovely emerald green eyes, she has a red sleeveless vest over her chest and body, dark pink elbow pads on her elbows, black gloves on her hands, broken pink skirt over black shorts with two pouches over her right leg, and wearing black open-toes boots, exposing her well-pedicure toenails.

The next female from the first group was the same age as the first girl, except she had black hair that was mid-waist down her back, her eyes are unusual with lavender seemly pupil-less eyes, but even through they don't have pupils, her eyes show plenty of emotion, she has a headband around her neck that has a metal plate that attached on the center of the headband with the image of the leaf engraved in the center of the plate, she has a purple and white jacket over her other clothes, she has dark blue pants with two pouches attached to her left leg, and she has open sandals on her feet, exposing her well-pedicure toenails.

The first of the males in the first group was also fifteen years of age like the girls with wildly spiked blond hair, black headband across his forehead with a metal plate that has an image of a leaf engraved in the center in the center of the headband, deep blue eyes, three whiskers on each of his cheeks, black and orange vest, orange pants with two pouches attached to the top back portion of his pants, with one pouch on the top left and the other on the top right portion, and black open-toed boots.

The second male of the first group who was also fifteen years like the first teen with black hair that flows down the side of his head, black eyes, an expressionless look on his face, gray shirt that open in his chest area, exposing much of his muscular chest, dark blue open fingered gloves on his hands over the long sleeved grey shirt, large violet rope around his waist with a robe covering the upper portion of his dark blue shirt, and black open-toed boots on his feet. He has two pouches attached to the violet rope around his waist, one on the left side, and the other on the ride side.

Over with the second group, the first boy of the second group was a sixteen-year-old boy with a red and blue baseball cap covering his navy blue hair, with matching eyes, burning with determination and pride. He wore a yellow t-shirt with a red jacket over it, he also had dark blue figureless gloves and navy blue jeans, upon his head, he wore a blue, white and red baseball cap turned backwards.

The boy next boy in the second group was a seventeen-year-old tall teenager with blue gray hair at the front and dark blue at the back, with narrowed crimson eyes. He had two blue triangular marks on each cheek and wore navy blue pants, which held up with a red belt with a dueling deck pouch, he also wore a navy blue shirt covered by a black vest, and had black figureless gloves and a two-ended scarf around his neck.

Next to them was another teen who looked to be about the same age as the two-tuned haired one, who with golden cat's eyes, with long black hair tied with a white ribbon that reached to his kneecaps. He wore black pants with a white Chinese top, round his waist, was a red piece of cloth like a belt, where his dueling pouch was kept. He was also wearing red fingerless gloves which each had a yin and yang symbol, as well as a bed headband with the same symbol.

The next boy in their group was a young teen who was about the same age as the navy haired boy, with blonde hair, and blue eyes. He was wearing a light yellow shirt with green sleeves, orange cargo pants with an orange jumper tied around his waist, where his dueling deck pouch was kept. He also had dark green figureless gloves.

The last of the boys in the group was a young sixteen year old boy who was at the same height as Syrus Truesdale, he had dark brown hair that covered most of his face making it impossible to see his eyes, but he wore a large pair of glasses were his eyes were. He wore a cream-colored button up shirt with a dark green tie, he also had dark cream-colored shorts, and under his arm, he carried a gray laptop.

The girl of the group was a sixteen-years-old, with brown hair and crimson eyes. She wore a green shirt, yellow skirt, and an orange jacket, wearing a red belt with she kept her dueling deck in a pouch.

While the Scouts and Darien were walking around and chatter with other new transfers, they were interrupted by the only girl in the second group.

“Hello!” She exclaimed with a bright smile.

“Um hi!” Amy stated with a nervous smile.

“Are you all excited about going to Duel Academy, too?!” The first boy in the second group asked with a bright smile on his face.

“Tyson, will you please calm down! We don't even know their names yet!” The girl who said hi first suddenly exploded with her hands on her hips.

“Sorry!” The boy now known as Tyson said sheepishly with a hand behind his head.

“Anyway, hi my names Max and these are my friends, Ray Kong…”

“Hey there!” Ray stated with a smile and a wave of his hand.

“…Kai Hiwatari…” Max said pointing at the boy with the two toned hair color.

“Hn.” Kai simply said with a stern look on his face.

“…the boy that first said hello is Tyson Granger…” Max said pointing to the boy with the backwards baseball cap.

“Hiya.” Tyson greeted with a bright smile and a wave of his hands.

“Finally, this is our resident cheerleader and trainer, Hilary Tachibana.” Max said as he finally pointed to the girl in their group.

“Hello, pleased to meet you.” Hilary said with a smile and a short bow.

“Together we make up one of the best beyblading teams in the whole of the world also known as the Bladebreakers.” Max said with a proud smile.

“You're the famous Bladebreakers?!” Lita exclaimed in shock.

“You know who they are, Lita?” Mina asked perplexed.

“Know them? Mina, they are among the best bladers in the whole world in the sport known as Beyblade.” Lita informed her blonde haired friend.

Amy says, with a smile, “Oh, yes! I've heard about them! Beyblade is quite a popular sport, not as popular as Duel Monsters, but it has worldwide popularity!”

Mina asks, perplexed, “Why haven't I heard of it?”

Raye says, with a sly smile, “Maybe you were too interested in cute boys and dueling to take notice. Even I know about Beyblade!”

Darien says, with a smile, “Well, it is nice to meet you. My name is Darien Shields. I'm one of the new transfer teachers coming to Duel Academy.” Darien points to Amara, Michelle, and Trista and he says, with a smile, “These are Amara Ten'ou, Michelle Kaiou, and Trista Meiou. They are also going to be new teachers at the school.”

Hilary yells out, excitedly while looking at Amara, “THE Amara Ten'ou?! The famous female racer?!”

Amara says, with a nervous smile, “Um, yeah.”

Michelle says, with a whisper and a sly smile, “It looks like you have quite a fan club, Amara.”

Tyson ask Hilary, curiously, “You know her, Hilary?”

Hilary yells out, excitedly, “Who doesn't know her Tyson? She is the famous Amara Ten'ou, the top female racer in the world!”

Kai thinks in his mind, seriously, ‘And why would a famous person like her come to do a teaching job even if it is Duel Academy?’

Hilary says, with a smile, “It is so like an honor to meet you!”

Amara says, with a nervous blush on her cheeks, “Right. Thanks kid.”

Lita says, with a sly smile, “Never thought I see the day that Amara would blush!”

Mina says, with a sly grin, “Yeah!”

Darien says, motioning to Amy and the Inner Sailor Scouts, “And these are Amy Mizuno, Raye Hino, Lita Kino, and Mina Aino. They will be new transfer students at the school, too.”

Ray says, with a smile, “Nice to meet you.”

Amy says, with a nod, “Nice to meet you, Ray Kong. It is good to meet the famous Bladebreakers and all of their friends.”

The bright pink haired girl from the first group says, with a smile, “Well as long as we're introducing ourselves, I'm Sakura Haruno!” The girl motions to the rest of her group, “This is boy with the black hair is Sasuke Uchiha . . .”

Amy then asks, interrupting, “Wait! Sasuke Uchiha, the last of the Uchiha clan?!”

Everyone looks at Amy and Darien asks Amy, curiously, “You know him?”

Amy says, with a nod, “Yep! He hails from the lands of the ninja, which lies in the mountain regions of Japan and Asia. In those lands, they have places known as Hidden Ninja Villages where ninja live to practice their arts. The people in the lands of the Shinobi are isolated from the rest of world, geologically, but they are a vital part of world affairs since their arts make them able to perform various jobs including assassination even better those non-ninja assassins armed with the latest technology. Sasuke Uchiha is part of the Uchiha ninja clan famous for its Kekkai Genkai or bloodline known as the Sharingan. However, eight years ago or so, the Uchiha clan was wiped out expect for Sasuke Uchiha. Rumor has it that it was by one of their own and Sasuke Uchiha's brother, Itachi Uchiha, who wasn't among the dead.”

Sakura says, amazed, “Wow! You seem to know a lot about where we come from!”

Amy says, with a smile, “I've researched a lot into world affairs.”

Tyson yells out, excitedly, “So, all of you are ninjas! That's so cool!”

The blond haired kid yells out, excitedly, “Yep! And I'm Naruto Uzumaki, the next Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village! Believe it!”

Sakura says, with a sigh and smile, “Oh, Naruto . . .”

Sasuke says, with a sigh, “Same old Dobe.”

Hilary asks, pointing to the other girl, “And who is this?”

The girl with the seemly pupil-less eyes says, with a slight nervous and kind tone, “I-I'm Hinata Hyuga.”

Lita asks, perplexed while looking at Hinata, “What's with the eyes?”

Sakura says, with a smile, “That's Hinata's Byakugan. It is a Kekkai Genkai of her ninja clan, the Hyuga clan. However, I can't say anymore because the Byakugan is a guarded secret of her clan.”

Mina says, with a smile, “No problem! I'm just to amazed to meet real-life ninjas!”

Just then a male voice calls out, “Hey, did you say real-life ninjas? That's so cool!” Just then everyone looks to see Yusuke and his group walking to them.

Ray asks, curiously, “Are you new students, too?”

Keiko says, with a smile, “Yep! My name is Keiko Yukimura.” Keiko points to Alister and she says, “And this is my brother, Alister.”

Alister says, with a smile, “Nice to meet you.”

Keiko points to Yusuke and the others and she says, “This rose red haired guy is Shuichi, but we known as Kurama, which I will try to explain later. This short guy with wild spiked black hair is Hiei and the girl in the blue kimono is Yukina. And this guy with red hair is Kuzama Kuwabara.”

Kurama says, with a nod, “Nice to meet you.”

Mina says to Lita, with a low tone, “Major cutie, Lita.”

Lita replies, with a whisper, “You know it, Mina.”

Kurama asks them, “May I have the honor of your names?”

Mina says, with a smile, “Oh, sure! I'm Mina Aino and this is one of my friends, Lita Kino!”

Yusuke immediately goes in front of Keiko and says, seriously, “Wait a minute! You mean Lita Kino?! The girl that said to get thrown out of multiple school for fighting and said to be an infamous female street fighter!”

Lita's friends look at her and Raye says, with an amazed tone, “I didn't know that you had a reputation, Lita.”

Lita tells Yusuke, seriously, “How do you know that?”

Keiko says, with a nervous smile, “Well, you might have heard of him, in a bad way, but this is . . . Yusuke Urameshi.”

The group yelps in shock and Lita yells out, strongly and in a defense position, “Yusuke Urameshi?! You mean as in the 'Great Urameshi', the infamous street punk from Sarayashiki Junior High?! What in the hell is he doing here?!”

Yusuke says, with a serious tone, “I should be asking you the same thing!”

As the two stare each other down, Naruto calls out, amazed, “Whoa! I've heard of him! It's said that he commands a one thousand street fighters with a simple flick of his fingers and if he calls them, you are dead unless you are a ninja like us!”

Keiko gets in-between them and she tells Yusuke, “Easy, Yusuke! I'm sure that she isn't here to start any trouble!”

Yusuke says, seriously, “I can't be so sure! I've heard plenty about her! So, if she wants to start trouble with my friends, then she is going to get it!”

Lita asks, curiously, “Protect your friends? So, you are not here to start trouble?”

Keiko tells Lita, with a kind smile, “Yusuke isn't as bad as people make him to be. I'm his girlfriend.”

Raye says, amazed, “Girlfriend?! Wow, you must really know how to keep him at bay to be his girlfriend!”

Yusuke says, insulted, “Hey!”

Kagome says, with a smile, “She does have a point, Yusuke.”

Yusuke says, drolly, “Thanks a lot, Kagome.”

Sakura says, stunned, “Kagome?! As in Kagome Higurashi?! The 'Sick Girl' said to have every disease known to man?!”

Kagome slaps herself on the head and Inuyasha tells Kagome, “Man! I can't believe that your grandpa used that excuse! Couldn't be come up with something better than that!”

Kagome tells Inuyasha, drolly, “You are telling me, Inuyasha.”

Hikari tells Sakura, with a nervous smile, “It is a long story with Kagome.” Hikari then points to Kira and she says, “I'm Hikari Urameshi, Yusuke's sister, and this is Yusuke's and my sister, Kira Urameshi! I'm Yusuke's and Kira's older twin sister!”

Amy asks, curiously, “Older twin sister?”

Hikari says, with a smile, “Yep! Born two second before Yusuke and four seconds before Kira.”

Yusuke and Kira say, drolly and in unison, “And she never lets us forget it!”

Just then another voice calls out, “Oh, wow! Hey, Yusuke!” Soon after, everyone looks to see Davis, Jun and the rest of the Digidestined coming towards them.

Kagome shouts out, amazed, “Davis?! Jun?! Is that you?!”

Jun says, with a smile, “Yep! It's us!”

Yolei says, fearfully as she looks at Yusuke, “Are you crazy, Jun?! That's Yusuke Urameshi, the infamous street punk from Sarayashiki Junior High!” The Digidestined gasp in shock and Tai goes over to protect Kari.

Davis tells Yolei, “Oh, come on, Yolei, Yusuke isn't that bad! He, Jun, and I are childhood friends!”

The Digidestined look at Davis and Tai asks, stunned, “Davis, you are friends with Yusuke Urameshi?!”

Jun says, with a sly smile, “Yep! Me and his girlfriend, Keiko Yukimura, were among the only ones to keep him in line!”

Kira says, with a sly grin, “It is you, Jun! You haven't really changed much!”

Jun tells Kira, “It is so good to see your sister and brother, again!”

Davis tells the Digidestined, “You see, this is Kira Urameshi and Hikari Urameshi. However, her friends and family called her 'Kari' for short. Hikari Urameshi is the older twin sister of Kira and Yusuke.”

Izzy asks, curiously, “Older twin sister?”

Hikari says, with a sly smile, “Yep! Born two seconds before Yusuke and four seconds before Kira and I never let them forget it!”

Yusuke and Kira say in unison, drolly, “Don't remind us.”

Davis says, with a smile, “It has been awhile, so, let me introduce my friends.” Davis points to the Digidestined team and he says, “These are my new friends, guys. The young kid is Cody, he is only thirteen years old, but he gained a special tuition to come here after winning a special contest. The girl with violet hair and glass is Miyako Inoue, who we call Yolei. The guy with blond hair and weird hat is Takeru Takashi, who we call TK. The next guy is Ken Ichijouji, who is my best friend among the group. The girl with the pink hair is Mimi Tachikawa, she came back to Japan after being in America for sometime and her hair is dyed. The guy with the glass is Joe Kido. He would like to be a doctor one day, but he decided to try dueling. The older guy with blond hair is TC's older brother, Yamato Ishida, who we like to call Matt. He is the leader of the Teenage Wolves rock band. The other older girl is Sora Takenouchi, a great tennis player. The guy with the laptop is Izzy Izumi, our genius of the group. Finally, there is Taichi Kamiya, who we like to call Tai, my soccer idol. And this young beauty is his younger sister, Hikari Kamiya, who we like with Yusuke's older twin, like to call 'Kari'.”

Hikari says, with a smile, “We have the same name! That's so cool!”

Kari says, with a nod, “Yeah, I guess it is.”

Keiko tells Kari, with a smile, “You must have really wanted to come to Duel Academy.”

Kari says, with a nod, “Yeah. We couldn't wait for the entrance exam to start, and when they did, we all aced our test and so we all get to go to Duel Academy together. I just have to say that I really got a lot of help from Davis in my dueling skills. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here.”

Yusuke asks Davis, with a sly grin, “Oh, I see. Is she your girlfriend, Davis?”

Davis and Kari blush from the comment and Davis yells out, annoyed, “N-No! Cut it out, Yusuke!”

Yusuke asks Davis, with a sly smile, “Why are you blushing with her then?”

Jun asks Yusuke, with a sly smile, “By the way, Yusuke, when is the wedding between Keiko and you? You keep promising that you would marry her one day. So, when is the wedding?” Keiko and Yusuke blush in embarrassment.

Mimi asks, looking at Inuyasha, “Who is that?”

Kagome says, with a nervous smile, “This is my friend, Inuyasha. By the way, I'm Kagome Higurashi.”

Tai says, with a sly smile while pointing to Sakura, “We kind of heard from our young ninja girl over there.”

Izzy says, with a logical tone, “Personally, I don't think it is possible for any human to get all of those diseases and be alive, much less as healthy looking as you are.”

Kagome says, with a moan, “Finally! Someone that believes that reputation can't be possible!”

Mimi goes over to Inuyasha, looks at his dog ears, and asks, curiously, “Are those real?” Mimi then pulls on Inuyasha's ears and he gets an annoyed look.

Kagome tells Mimi, nervously, “Mimi, I wouldn't do that.”

Inuyasha yells out, annoyed, “Would you take your hands off my ears?!” Mimi yelps out as she backs away into Matt's arms.

Kagome tells Mimi, nervously, “He doesn't like that.”

Matt says, with a serious tone, “We've noticed.”

Keiko tells Lita and Yusuke, “Anyway, I think that we have gotten past that we're not dangerous to each other.”

Mina says, with a smile, “Yeah. If someone like Yusuke has friends vouch, I don't think that he is a bad person as they say.”

Lita says, with a shrug, “Well, okay.”

Kagome says, with a sigh, “Okay, with that out of the way, I think that we should finish introducing ourselves to each other.”

Hinata says, with a nod, “Good idea, Kagome-san.” Soon enough, our groups of heroes and heroines finish off introducing each other.

Davis thinks in his mind, curiously, ‘I wonder: If Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn have been brainwashed by this 'Society of Light' should I warn them about it? I know that their names are Serena Tsukino and Hotaru Tomoe, but her majesty didn't tell me anything else. But I have a feeling that the Sailor Scouts are coming to help their leader and fellow scouts out. And I got this weird feeling in my gut that they are right here and now and closer than I think.’

Sakura asks the non-ninja heroes and heroines, “By the way, did you hear about what's going on at Duel Academy lately?”

Davis nods his head and replies, “Yeah . . . this Society of . . .”

Sasuke says, seriously, “Society of Light? It is a new mysterious and powerful organization that has taken over one of the dorms of Duel Academy and has been 'converting' people into some kind of cult.”

Izzy nods his head and he says, with a nod, “Yes. I've heard about it, too. I think their leader's name is Sartorius.”

Darien and the Sailor Scouts get interested at Izzy's last statement and Raye thinks in her mind, ‘Could this be the name of our new enemy? The Avatar of this mysterious 'Light of Ruin'?’

Kira says, with a serious tone, “I've heard about it, too, and I've got a gut feeling that it is bad news.”

Davis thinks in his mind, seriously, ‘No joke! What you don't know is how bad with two Sailor Scouts under its control of its leader!’

Hilary asks, curiously, “What do you think that this organization is all about?”

Kai says, with a serious plain tone, “I don't know, but it is best that we stay away from it.”

Tyson says, with a sly smile, “Ha! Don't worry, Kai. If they mess with us, we will give them a butt kicking that they will never forget!”

Max says, with a smile, “Same old Tyson!” Just then a loud whistle blows and everyone goes over to the side to see an island far away in the distance.

Kai says, with a plain tone, “We are about to arrive. We had better be ready.”

Darien thinks in his mind, determinedly, ‘Don't worry, Sere'! We're coming! I'll free you from this monster that turned you into his tool for destruction!’

Davis thinks in his mind, seriously, ‘Man! This is it! Personally, I wanted to go to learn to be an awesome duelist and show that I can duel it out with the best! Something tells me that I got that and more with this evil brainwashing cult who's leader has got Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn under their control! Well, with my new 'Neos deck', I might have a chance!’

Keiko asks Yusuke, curiously, “Do you think that we will see Jaden again?”

Yusuke says, with a smile, “Sure! By now, he must be the best duelist on the whole island!”

Tai asks, curiously, “Jaden?”

Jun says, with a smile, “Jaden Yuki! He is another childhood friend of Davis, Yusuke, Hikari, Kira, Keiko, Kagome, Kuwabara, and me, Tai. He uses Elemental Hero cards like Davis does and he is an awesome duelist! His 'book smarts' are like Davis, but he is a great duelist.”

Davis says, drolly, “Thanks a lot, sis.”

(Sometime later on the docks of Academy Island)

Later that day, we find our heroes and heroines along with the rest of the new transfer students disembarking from the boat with none other than Crowler and Bonaparte in front of them.

Bonaparte tell them, in his French accent, “Adieu! I am Jean Louis Bonaparte. I am the Vice-Chancellor here at Duel Academy! And this is Doctor Crower . . . temporary Chancellor of Duel Academy until the real Chancellor, Sheppard, returns.”

Crowler growls at Bonaparte and Yusuke asks, perplexed, “Are you a guy or gal?”

Crowler yells out, angrily, “I am a man, young sir! And I am the Chancellor of this Academy!” Crowler says, with a low tone, “At least until Chancellor Sheppard has returned.”

Hikari says, with a sigh, “Way to go, bro.”

Yusuke says, nervously, “I was just asking.”

Mina asks Raye, lowly, “Is he a cross-dresser or something?”

Raye replies, with a whisper, “I don't want to know.”

Crowler says, after taking a deep breath, “Anyway, you are the brightest new students and teachers to come to Duel Academy! Your knowledge and abilities proved you worthy of transferring or teaching, if you are a new teacher, at our fine establishment for the dueling elite!” Crowler then tries to say, with a plain tone, “If you would follow me, we will get you assigned to your dorms and give you your new uniforms.”

Just then a familiar male voice calls out, “That won't be necessary, Crowler! We will take it from here!” Everyone looks to the source of the voice to see Chazz Princeton, Alexis Rhodes, Serena Tsukino, and Hotaru Tomoe with a group of male and female SOL members assembled in front of them.

Darien and the Sailor Scouts gasps in shock and Darien thinks in his mind, ‘Serena?!’

Raye thinks in her mind, stunned, ‘It's Serena! And Hotaru! But this feeling and their eyes . . . they are so cold. Like their emotions are frozen!’

Crowler yells out, annoyed, “What was that?! Listen here, you, I run Duel Academy and you will do what I say.”

Hotaru says, with a cold plain tone, “Forgive me if I'm wrong, but we don't take orders from you.”

Michelle whispers to Amara, shocked, “Firefly sounds so cold.”

Amara replies, in a whisper, “That bastard that brainwashed her did this to her. He is going to pay.”

Crowler says, with a serious tone, “Now, you listen here Miss Tomoe! You might been members of that 'Society of Light', but you and Miss Tsukino are only new transfer students, even if you have been Obelisk Blue status.”

Davis thinks in his mind, seriously, ‘Tomoe? Tsukino? They must be Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn!’

Serena retorts, with a cold serious tone, “Sorry, 'Chancellor Crowler', the only one that we listen to is Sartorius-sama and Destiny. Besides, you are not the true head of this school after all. You are only a 'fill in'.”

Crowler yells out, angrily, “How dare you?!”

Mina whispers, horrified, “Is that Serena? She sounds so cold.”

Lita whispers back, with an angered tone, “Is that asshole who messed with her mind that did this to her! He'll pay!”

Serena says, walking forward and in a cold tone, “If you are done, my fellow Society members and I have work to do.” However, Crowler steps in front of Serena and puts her right hand on her shoulder.

Crowler says, seriously, “You are not walking any closer, Miss Tsukino.”

Serena says, with a cold threatening tone, “And you daring to stop me and my Sacred Duty to the Light? I think that you should let go of me.”

Crowler states, with a serious tone, “Is that a threat, Miss Tsukino?”

Hotaru's voice then booms, with a cold serious tone, “No.” Just then Hotaru appears and grabs Crowler's wrist using her Sailor Senshi super-strength enhanced by Sartorius' evil powers causing Crowler to yelp out in pain as his wrist is getting crushed. Hotaru tells Crowler, with a cold threatening glare and cold serious tone, “You touch Serena-chan again and you will see the Light, the hard way.”

Serena tells Hotaru, with a cold commanding tone, “Enough, Hotaru-chan!” Immediately, Hotaru lets go Crowler's wrist and he bends down in pain while holding his wrist. Serena glares at Bonaparte, who is quite fearfully, and she says, with a cold plain tone, “Do you want to try anything short stuff?”

Bonaparte says, nervously, “No! No! Carry on!”

Sasuke thinks in his mind, plainly, “Weakling.”

Serena says, with a cold sly smile, “Thank you.”

But just then a familiar male voice calls out, “Hey! I don't think that was nice!” Everyone looks to the source of the voice to see Jaden Yuki, Tyranno Hassleberry, and Syrus Truesdale walking up onto the scene.

Chazz says, with a cold annoyed tone, “Oh, great! Who invited you, dork?!”

Tyranno says, with a nasty tone, “Hey, Princeton! This is a free harbor, so, get used to it!”

Jaden says, with a smile, “Easy, soldier.”

Alexis' expression becomes softer when she sees Jaden, however, she regains her cold expression, and she asks, with a cold sly tone, “Have you finally gotten into your head to join us, Jaden?”

Jaden says, with a sly nervous tone, “Sorry, but not today.”

Serena says, with a cold sly tone, “So, you are Jaden Yuki, huh?”

Jaden asks, curiously, “Do I know you?”

Syrus looks at Serena and he exclaims, horrified, “I heard about her! She is that new Society member that helped brainwashed much the rest of the student body!”

Tyranno states, with a serious tone, “So, she is the new troublemaker?!”

Darien and the Sailor Scouts gasp in shock and Raye thinks in her mind, horrified, ‘It can't be true . . .!’

Serena says, with a cold sly smile, “What you nonbelievers call trouble, we call help save others from the darkness by bringing them into the Light. But yes, I am one of the newest member of the glorious Society of Light! My name is Serena Tsukino and this is my young friend, Hotaru Tomoe. Sartorius-sama helped us transfer into Duel Academy after he helped us see the Light. And Sartorius-sama told us about you, Jaden Yuki.”

Just then Davis' voice calls out, “So, you are Serena, huh?!” Everyone looks to see Davis step forward with his duel disk attached to his wrist.

Serena asks, with a cold curious tone, “Do I know you?”

Davis says, with a serious tone, “No, but I know you, Serena.”

Amara whispers, perplexed, “How does that kid know about Kitten's name?”

Jaden yells out, amazed, “Davis?! Davis Motomiya, is that you?!”

Davis says, with a smile, “Nice to see you, again, Jay! I'll be with you in a moment!”

Soon after, Yusuke and the others appear and Hikari says, with a smile, “Hey, Jaden!”

Jaden says, seeing them, “Kari! Kira! Yusuke!”

Syrus yelps out in fear and exclaims, “Yusuke?! You mean Yusuke Urameshi, also known as the 'Great Urameshi', the infamous street punk from Sarayashiki Junior High?!” Tyranno and the SOL members gasp in shock.

Chazz yells out, shocked, “What?! What is HE doing here?!”

Yusuke says, annoyed, “I'm here to see a good friend of mine, white freak! So, clam it!”

Alexis asks, stunned, “Jaden knows Yusuke Urameshi?!”

Syrus asks Jaden, with a surprised tone, “Jay, you know Yusuke Urameshi?”

Jaden says, with a smile, “Yep! We're childhood friends with his older twin sister, Hikari, and his younger twin sister, Kira!”

Tyranno asks, perplexed, “Older twin sister? Younger twin sister?”

Hikari says, with a smile, “Born two second before Yusuke and four seconds before Kira!”

Yusuke and Kira say in unison, with annoyed tones, “And she never let us forget it!”

Jaden says, with a smile, “You never changed a bit! This is so sweet that you are here with Davis!”

Hotaru whispers to Serena, with a cold serious tone, “Sartorius-sama might want to know about this, Serena-hime.”

Serena nods her head and replies, with a cold plain tone, “I agree, Hotaru-chan.” Serena then looks at Davis and she asks, with a cold serious tone, “How do you know my name?”

Davis activates his duel disk, puts his dueling deck in it, and he says, with a sly smile, “How about I make you a deal? I duel one of your Society members and if I win, you let us go.”

Serena says, with a cold sly smile, “And if you lose, you join us in the Society of Light.”

Davis says, with a sly grin, “Sorry, not happening.”

Serena says, with a cold serious tone, “We'll see. No one escapes Destiny!” Serena asks Chazz, with a cold plain tone, “Chazz, could you bring Reginald up for us?”

Chazz says, with a cold sly smile, “So, that's why, huh?! Heh! You are pretty smart, Tsukino!”

Serena says, with a cold scowl towards the Inner Sailor Scouts, “Despite what some friends think of me.” Soon after, Reginald Van Howell III wearing male SOL uniform with a duel disk with a dueling deck inside attached to his left wrist.

Chazz tells Reginald, with a cold serious tone, “Don't lose to this dork or else!”

Reginald replies, with a cold sly smile, “Don't worry, Chazz-dono, this dork this toast!”

Tyranno asks, curiously, “Isn't that the guy that Chazz dueled in the first duel of the year?”

Syrus says, with a nod, “Yep! He must have beat him a second time!”

Reginald tells Davis, with a cold sly grin, “Are you ready to see the Light?”

Davis tells Reginald, with a sly smile while activating his duel disk, “Don't think so, pal!”

Reginald says, with a cold serious tone, “No one escapes Destiny, pal!” Reginald and Davis draw five cards from their decks and their life-point counters on their duel disks display 4000 life-points each.

“Let's duel!” Davis and Reginald say in unison as their duel begins.

Reginald tells Davis, with a cold sly smile, “As I can't lose with Destiny on my side, I'll go first!” Reginald draws a card, puts a card in the spell/trap slots, and he says, “I play my Graceful Charity! Now, I draw three cards from my deck and discard two from my hand!” Reginald draws three cards from his deck and discards two from his hand. He puts another card in the spell/trap slots and he yells out, coldly, “Next, I play my Monster Reborn! I choose to bring back my Queen's Knight that I sent to my graveyard!” Just then Queen's Knight (1500/1600) comes to the field in attack mode. Reginald puts one card on his duel disk and yells out, with a sly smile, “Next, I play my King's Knight in attack mode!” Just then King's Knight (1600/1400) comes to the field in attack mode. Just then a card comes out of Reginald's deck and he puts it into his hand before putting it on his duel disk. Reginald then says, with a cold sly smile, “And thanks to King's Knight special's ability, since Queen's Knight is here, I can summon my Jack's Knight!” Just then Jack's Knight (1900/1000) appears in-between Queen's Knight and King's Knight in attack mode. Reginald puts another card in the spell/trap slots and he says, with a cold tone, “And now, nonbeliever, I play my Allied Forces continuous spell card! As long as this card remains on the field, all Warrior-type monsters gain two hundred attack points for every Warrior and Spellcaster monster on the field. Since there are three Warrior monsters, all of them gain six hundred attack points each!” Queen's Knight's stats rise from (1500/1600) to (2100/1600), King's Knight's stats rise from (1600/1400) to (2200/14000), and Jack's Knight's stats rise from (1900/1000) to (2500/1000)! Reginald says, with a cold sly tone, “I'll end my turn since there is nothing more I can do, but next time, you will see the Light!”

Tyranno says, with a serious tone, “Oh, boy! That boy has got more troubles that homesick hog!”

Syrus says, with a sigh, “I'm not even going to ask.”

Davis draws a card from his deck and he says, “My draw!” Davis looks at his cards, gives a sly smile, and he says, putting one card in the spell/trap slots, “Now, I play my Fake Hero spell card! With this card, I can special summon one monster with 'Elemental Hero' in its name to the field! However, it can't attack and it returns to my hand at the end of the turn!” Davis puts one card on his duel disk and yells out, “So, I play this! My newest hero of my deck: Elemental Hero Neos!” Just then Elemental Hero Neos (2500/2000) comes to the field in attack mode.

Jaden, Tyranno, Syrus, and the SOL members, minus Serena and Hotaru, gasp in shock and Chazz yells out, stunned, “Hold up! I thought that only Jaden has that card!”

The others overhear this and Jun thinks in her mind, ‘So, Jay has these weird new cards?!’

Raye asks Amy, in a whisper, “Hey, Amy, isn‘t that one of the cards Davis used to pull off his win at the entrance exams?”

Amy tells Raye, with a nod of her head and in a whisper, “Yes I believe it is. Although I still don’t understand how there can be such a card when up until now, there was no 'Elemental Hero Neos' in the Elemental Hero series of cards.”

Davis puts a card in the spell/trap slots and he says, seriously, “Next, I play my Contact Soul! Thanks to this spell, since Neos is on the field, I can summon one Neo-Spacian from my deck, hand, or graveyard directly to the field, but at the end of the turn, I have to send all monsters back to my deck!” A card comes out Davis' deck, he puts it on his duel disk, and he yells out, “So, I summon Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab!” Just then Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab (500/500-900/500) comes to the field in attack mode. Davis says, with a serious tone, “Since you have a spell card out, my Flare Scarab gain four hundred attack points!”

Alexis asks, perplexed, “He has those cards, too?”

Davis puts another card on his duel disk and yells out, strongly, “Then I summon Neo-Spacian Grand Mole!” Soon after, Neo-Spacian Grand Mole (900/300) comes to the field in attack mode. Davis calls out, strongly, “Okay, Neos! Flare Scarab! Grand Mole! It is time for Triple Contact Fusion!” Just then the outer space theme appears in the sky and the three monsters leap into the sky, combining in a bright light while the three monster cards return to his deck. Davis puts a fusion monster card on his duel disk and calls out, strongly, “Okay, pal, meet Elemental Hero Magma Neos!” Out of the bright light, Elemental Hero Magma Neos (3000/2500), a humanoid monster with the head of Flare Scarab without the horns, dark green armored chest-plate with a blue jewel in the center of the chest, dark green upper arms, his left hand made of molten rock, his right hand is a gantlet shaped Grand Mole's claw-like hands, and black and dark green armored lower legs, comes to the field in attack mode. Davis puts one card in the spell/trap slots and he says, “Next, I throw down a face-down . . .” Just then Davis' field spell slot opens, he puts the last card in his hand in the slot, and he yells out, “And then I play my Neo-Space Field Spell!” Soon after, the field transforms into an aurora-like outer space field.

Mimi says, amazed, “It's beautiful.”

Davis says, with a serious tone, “Now, Magma Neos gains four hundred attack points for every card on the field! Since I have three and you have four, he gains twenty-eight hundred attack points! Plus, my Neo-Space Field Spell card gives my Neos and all fusion monster created from Elemental Hero Neos an extra five hundred attack points!” Magma Neos' stats rise (3000/2500) to (6300/2500)!

Reginald yells out, horrified, “Over six thousand attack points!”

Davis says, with a sly smile, “More than enough to take you out!” Davis then calls out, “Magma Neos, give this guy a real dueling lesson! End this duel with Meteor Meltdown!” Magma Neos creates a large flaming meteor in his left hand and launches it at Queen's Knight causing it to slam into with terrific force. Queen's Knight is destroyed instantly and Reginald yells out as he loses 4200 life-points, ending the duel immediately.

Final Score:
Davis: 4000
Reginald: 0

With the end of the duel, the final holograms fade away, Reginald falls onto the ground, unconscious.

Chazz yells out, stunned, “How did that dork win in one turn?”

Serena says, with a cold annoyed tone, “It was because of that dweeb that you recommended for us!”

Alexis says, with a cold serious tone, “Serena's right! It was your idea to recommend Reginald, Chazz!”

Hotaru says, with a cold threatening glare and cold serious tone, “What do you have to say for yourself, Princeton?!” Chazz yelps out in fear from the three girls as they stare at him with cold deadly glares.

Syrus says, fearfully, “Alexis and those new girls are scary.” Just then Serena's PDA activates, she takes it out of her pocket, and she activates it, revealing Sartorius' face.

Serena tells Sartorius, through the PDA, “Yes, Sartorius-sama?”

Sartorius tells Serena, through the PDA, “My dear, you, Mister Princeton, Miss Rhodes, Miss Tomoe, and the others should return back to our dorm.”

Serena turns to her left side and she tells Sartorius, with a cold serious tone, “But sir, I didn't bring Darien-chan and the new students into the Light!”

Sartorius' eyes give off a bright violet glow, Serena's eyes become dull and lifeless, and he tells her, “Do not worry, my dear. You shall get a chance in time. You trust me, don't you?”

Serena replies, with an emotionless tone, “Yes, Sartorius-sama.”

Darien and the Inner Sailor Scout see Serena's lifeless eyes and Amara thinks in her mind, angrily, ‘What in the hell is that demon doing to her?!’

Sartorius tells Serena, “Now, please return.” Serena's PDA de-activates, Serena blinks, her eyes return to normal, and she looks at the group with cold sly smile on her lips.

Serena tells the group, with a cold sly smile, “You got off for now, but none of you can stop Destiny!” Serena tells Alexis, with a cold serious tone, “We need to head back, Alexis. It is Sartorius-sama's orders.”

Alexis nods her head and replies, with a cold plain tone, “Right.” Soon after, the group of SOL members leave with Alexis, Chazz, Serena, and Hotaru following them.

Just then Darien and the Sailor Scouts come forward and Raye yells out, in a pleading tone, “Serena, wait!” Serena stops in her tracks and turns to face her 'former' friends with a cold plain look on her face. Raye tells Serena, “Serena, whatever this Sartorius did to you, you need to fight it. He is messing with your mind.”

Serena says, with a cold plain tone, “Sartorius-sama did not 'play with my mind', Pyro! He showed me the truth about the world and the universe! He is a great man that should be respected! Like I should have been, but you thought of me as some pathetic Meatball Head! You never knew who I really was!” Serena says, with a cold sly smile, “However, thanks to the power of Light, I've been reborn even better than ever. I don't have anything else to hide. But don't worry, Raye, you shall see soon enough.”

Hotaru, who has also stopped and looking at our heroes and heroines, says, with a cold sly smile, “That's right, Amara-papa. Soon, you and the other shall see that there is no escaping Destiny and it is for all of us to join the Society of Light.”

Serena says, with a cold sly smile, “Until then Darien-chan.” Darien looks into Serena's eyes, but all he sees is coldness with Serena's 'true self' hidden under an evil veil. Soon after, Serena and Hotaru head off to rejoin the rest of the SOL members as they walk away.

Raye thinks in her mind, angrily, ‘Damn you! How dare you do this to my princess and best friend?! You will pay for this!’

Darien thinks in his mind, with his right hand in a fist, ‘I will never let you get away with this Sartorius! You might be the avatar of some kind of ancient evil power, but I won't let that stop me! I shall keeping fighting and I'll get my Serena back! We will get our friends back!’

Sakura asks the Sailor Scouts and Darien, curiously, “Friend of yours?”

Mina says, with a sigh, “She . . . is . . . until this.”

Soon after, Jaden and his group comes over and Tyranno says, with a serious tone, “Looks like your friends have become another victim of that overgrown snake. We know how you feel. Those two, Alexis Rhodes and Chazz Princeton, were our friends until that jerk turned them into his brainwashed tools.”

Yusuke asks Davis, with a curious tone, “By the way, Davis, how did you know that girl's name?”

Davis says, with a serious tone, “It is a long story, Yusuke.” Davis thinks in his mind, looking at Darien and the Sailor Scouts, ‘If those girls know them, they must be the Sailor Scouts! Well, I'll help out as best as I can even through I'm not sure how, but it looks like Queen Serenity was right! This jerk uses Duel Monsters as the way to turn people into his tools! Well, I'll help save Sailor Moon, Sailor Saturn, and the universe!’ However, as the group of heroes and heroines watch the SOL members watch them leave, Davis didn't know how hard it is going to be . . .

Next time in Chapter 3: Beginnings of Darkness: As our Sailor Scouts, Digidestined, Spirit Detectives, Leaf Village ninja, and Bladebreakers, joined together with Jaden and his friends, against Sartorius and the Society of Light, things only get worse and worse for our heroes and heroines. With the brainwashing of most of the Scouts, Sakura & Hinata from Naruto's group, Hilary, Ray and Max of the Bladebreakers, Kagome from Inuyasha's group, and Tai, Kari, TK, Ken, and Yolei from the Digidestined, our heroes and heroines are in a real rut and sinking fast. All too soon, two mysteriously clocked figures appears to give our distraught heroes a helping hand in the form of the Darkness of Salvation. Also an altercation will take place between the two figures and Inuyasha. What is the Darkness of Salvation and how will it help the good guys? Also what is with the altercation between the two figures and Inuyasha about? Only time will tell. See you next time on Digital Moon GX: The Joining of Heroes!

I want to apologize for not getting this out any sooner. I was having a difficult time with the duels and it was thanks to Gallantmon of the Hazard, Sirlucario AKA Guardian of the Angels, and Inu-yuskekaiba102 that I was able to finally come up with some sweet duels for you all. I don't know when chapter 3 will be out so just be patient with me as I try to decide what it is I want to happen in chapter 3 and so on. I also want to say that I was having problems with my computer and internet and I almost lost the ability to post fan fiction for a long time, but a new friend where I live helped me fix the error. I do want you to all know that I am enjoying working on this fic, and I intend to keep going so bear with me, please. If you have any ideas that you might like to see occur or duels or what not, let me know.

Well that's if for the second chapter! I had a lot of fun doing it as well as a lot of sweat and tears putting it together too! Thank god for authors like Gallantmon of the Hazard & Inu-yusukekaiba102, and Sirlucario AKA Guardian of the Angels who helped me put together the duels in this chapter as well as the decks belonging to the Bladebreakers. I want to also thank Inu-yusukekaiba102 for putting together the duel between Yusuke and Nigel. It was his idea to add the series' of Inuyasha & YYH. I also want to thank SailorStar9 ahead of time, who is the author of 'Sailor Vortex Returned' & 'Sailor Vortex Revived' among others for the use of Sailor Vortex & Sailor Genesis. The duel segments took me a long time to finally put together and I hope you all enjoy all of our hard work to get this chapter out to you fans of these crossovers.
