CHAPTER 10: The Battle.

The Liger Zero stood facing the red Zaber Fang, the "7" logo with the dot behind it (AN: Raven's tattoo) easily visible on the right shoulder, with a blue "2" on the left. Next to Bit, who was using Imperium, was a Gun Sniper with a standard Weasel Unit, and a set of shot cannons. Leena had been given the Zoid as a perfect mirror of her old one, but had removed the Hiblit Vulcan Guns and Missile boxes, instead mounting an AZ-208mm shot cannon on each "wing". Opposite her was the Liger, which was using a basic Zero armor, but red: it was the EZ-054, Liger Zero X. Raven's Zoid. Only Bit remembered his visit, last year.

What surprised Raven about the Zoid opposite his Liger was that, considering the pilot, it was very, very lightly armed. He dismissed that minor fact, and opened a comlink to the red Zoid.

"Ready, Shadow?" in response, the Liger ZX's head turned ever so slightly, and it roared. Bit noticed this, however.

"The GenoSaurers must be there. I'll have to tell Leena. Hey, Leena! Your sniping post is taken.

What?

Betcha $ 50 you'll run into at least one GenoSaurer, maybe two.

You're ON! But I'll bet you're wrong.

Better not chance it!" he then whispered "I don't think Mr. Champ'd be too happy about you destroying his "birthday present" on its first battle." He had noticed it had come two days after her birthday, actually. Bit did not know this, but that day marked the first year of Leena and Harry's engagement. He did, however, know that Harry made his visits much less often, and when he DID visit, it was always while Bit was out. For this reason, he began to suspect that there actually was more to the two of them than Harry's obsession. He decided to get back to the Battle, and opened a communication.

"Jamie, Pierce. How're you two lovebirds doing up there?" He'd taken to calling them that in battle since he'd found out they were married, with a son named Tyson. He was about 8, now.

"Fine, Bit. But stop calling us that!" she answered. "It's infuriating.

The "Little Lady" is right, Bit!

What did you just say, Jamie? Someone hold me back or I'll KILL HIM!

Guys…The judge is announcing the start of the battle.

READY, FIGHT!"

The Ligers immediately charged forward, knocking each other back with a vicious tackle. The ZX was slightly scratched, but the Liger Zero Imperium was in pretty bad shape. Meanwhile, the Zaber Fang was firing at the Gun Bluster, and Leena promptly took it out with a carpet barrage. Then, she inaugurated her new dual Hiblit Vulcan Guns by totally annihilating it. A vid screen flashed. "Congratulations, Ms Leena. You've just defeated the Blue Devil. Not that it was too hard." The blue-haired girl smirked "This is the first time I've piloted a Saber Tiger." The screen flashed off, and she left to find her "spot" and cover Bit.

"AAAAAAH! I'm going down!" Jamie grunted as his Raynos scraped the ground. Not one of his smoother landings, but at least he was still conscious this time. Pierce went down next, taken out by the Double Sworder flying close behind, which promptly landed…into (What else) A Carpet barrage, courtesy of the Gun Bluster. Its thick armor barely withstood the assault, and the GenoSaurer attacked.

"Ah! Shields up! Bit, watch out!" The Liger ZX was preparing for a Strike Laser Claw. Meanwhile, Bit lowered his Zoid's blades, and flipped them forward. The spikes on the tail stabbed the earth, and the EMP fired, negating the attack, and taking out its weapons system. Then, he finished it off, cutting two legs out from under it.

"Congratulations. It's now two-on-one. The odds are in your favor, Bit. But not for long. I think Leena's not enjoying this nearly as much as you. SHADOW!"

A blue streak surged out of the Liger, which lay there.

"BITCH! AN ORGANOID!

Oh dear. The Organoid piloted the Liger." Doc Toros remarked. "Then Raven's in the GenoSaurer. He was gauging Bit's abilities, learning his style. Building up a defense.

No shit, Doc!" spat Mike. "Jesus. MOM, BEHIND YOU!"

The Liger pulled up to the Gun Bluster just as the Double Sworder launched its attack. Then, Bit and Leena, who dodged it, saw something:

"Leena! Did you see that?

There's no pilot! But, how? No remote piloting could be that good. Unless…

You're right. ANOTHER Organoid. FUCK!" The Gun Bluster was out: a shot from the Pulse Laser Guns obliterated its weapons.

"Well, Bit. Looks like it's you and me.

A vicious battle ensued, which ended favorably for the Blitz Team. The GenoSaurer had the upper hand, but the Liger was able to attack, with

IMPERIAL STRIKE

"Well. So he did it…Perfect. This is perfect. ROSSO!

Yes, sir? Take Ambient with you. You're to steal the Liger Zero, and the Blitz Team's two Organoids. As for the methods, you have carte blanche. Just get it done. Whatever it takes.

Oh, man! That was a good battle.

Yeah, I agree.

Yes. Bit, Leena, you both did extremely well.

And, Doc?

Yeah, Bit?

Oh, All right. But you know..,

NO, DOC." Just then, the doorbell rang. Doc went to get it, and sorta froze, gawking up to the huge Zoid standing at the base doors. The Elephander.

"Hey. Excuse me, but are you gonna let me in, or just stand around?
