Yugi- Dead or Alive Volleyball Player?!

(Author's Notes: Sorry for long delay, but tests came in late. I passed, but just barely. I thank each and every one of you all that wished me luck with it!

DJ: (Grins) Don't worry, I won't! Now, Kasumi has a special night with Yugi. This one might surprise you, it might not. Just enjoy as much as you can!

Now, on with the fanfic!)

Chapter 15

It was now 6:45 p.m., night slowly dawning on the small piece of land known as Zack Island. Yugi was slightly tired from his outing with Hitomi and Lei Fang, very much yearning to fall asleep into his bed and pillow. "Man, those girls had more energy then I thought.", he mumbled as he stumbled towards the elevator door in the lobby. The three had been playing on the beach, relaxing in the jungle, and then splashing around at the Poolside. "Heh, this is turning out to be a great vacation. Far greater then I could ever hope or dream of!", he said to himself with a small smile. He had made good friends, helped them with his advice, and also hopefully turned their lives around. He had finally arrived at the desired floor and was about to enter his room when he heard an angelic voice call out, "Yugi?". He turned around to see a smiling Kasumi, who was wearing a black bikini at the moment and her hair not in her usual ponytail style. "Oh, hi Kasumi.", he greeted as warmly as he could. The young shinobi saw that he was tired, and she could not blame him. She and Ayane had been spying on the young man when he was with Lei Fang and Hitomi. "Yugi, can I ask for a small favor?", the red-haired goddess shyly asked the tri-colored hero. He had a curious and slightly puzzled look on his face when he nodded yes. She then asked, "Would you… like to… pop some fireworks… with me tonight?". Yugi showed mild surprise on his face, but a warm smile soon developed on his face. He nodded his head and replied, "Sure. I would love to.".

Her face beamed happily and she stated, "Great! I'll wake you up at 8:30 p.m. when its time!". Yugi replied, "Then it's a date.". Kasumi blushed greatly at the statement, but she hid it quickly before Yugi could see it. "Thank you very much, Yugi!", she said before going to her room. Yugi chuckled at this, then he entered his room. Once inside, he immediately went over to the large, soft bed and flopped down on it. "I'm glad she gave me time to rest up a bit first. Very considerate of her.", he said to himself softly. As he was drifting off into a peaceful slumber, images popped into his head. He remembered seeing Kasumi looking away and blushing brightly when she and the others accidentally walked in on him and saw him naked. Before that, the sweet moment they shared briefly some days earlier. He had felt something stirring inside his heart when he and Kasumi looked into each other's eyes. 'This is… very confusing to me.', he thought. 'I'm I… falling in love with Kasumi?', he asked himself. He then chuckled and replied softly, "I might as well brush it off. Its not like I have a chance with her, or with the others. I mean… why would beautiful, strong-willed women like them, ever even try to be with someone like me.". It was with that thought that he fell asleep, but little did he know that someone listened in. It was Ayane, and she could feel tears swelling up in her eyes. She had listened to every word, leaning in on the door outside and using her very sensitive ears to hear Yugi talking to himself. She did that after witnessing her half-sister depart for her room. She straightened up, pulling away from the wooden door. She whispered, "Any of us would like to be with you Yugi, myself included. Why? Because you are a very wonderful young man; you're sensitive, caring, giving, wise, strong-minded, brave, selfless, kind, and honest.". She then left fast to tell the others about this.

~At the dining room downstairs~

The ladies, who were eating dinner at the moment, were pretty much shocked on what Ayane told them. Putting their silverware down and pushing their plates of food aside, they were now discussing on what to do. "Why would Yugi even think he doesn't have a chance with any of us?", Hitomi asked incredulously. Tina suggested, "Maybe its because of his physical appearance. He thinks that he wouldn't have a chance because of his short size, and we only see him as a friend.". Lisa shook her head lightly and commented, "That's just plain silly! Looks aren't everything, you know! Besides, he's more then a good friend in my opinion!". Helena then said, "It's kinda ironic that he can see the truth and goodness in a person's soul and heart, and admire that then looks. Yet, he thinks he has to rely on physical appearance to gain any of our admiration.". Lei Fang shook her head and stated firmly, "This only makes me more determined to see our little tournament through! I want to be able to show Yugi he means more to me then just plain looks!". Ayane and Hitomi agreed with the Chinese beauty. Christie smirked and inquired, "You three really love that kid, don't you?". The three fighters blushed heavily that. "I really do. I mean, I'm wondering if its possible to love him even more then I do now.", Lei Fang shyly confessed. Hitomi and Ayane were thinking the same thing. Lisa then asked, "Would you see him only as a mere prize when you fight one another?". Ayane looked rather shocked and angry at this question, as did the other two participants. She answered firmly, "No way! I will never, ever see Yugi like that at all!". Lei Fang and Hitomi nodded in agreement. Tina then said, "Good for you. Now, you better get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for both of you.".

Upstairs, Kasumi was getting ready for her big night with the man she very much adored right now. She was dressed in a very elegant and beautiful purple kimono, with various floral patterns on it. Her brown eyes glowed with such warmth and happiness when her mind pictured herself and Yugi together. "He's… such a sweet and caring man. It would be an honor to be his beloved.", she whispered to herself. Then, reality came crashing down on her big time. 'But, it can never be truly so. I would put Yugi in immense danger, and that I will not allow!', she thought. You see, she had broken the code of the shinobi and ran away from her people to seek out her brother who had disappeared. When she found him, she discovered that she was now marked as a traitor by breaking the code. Now, she was being hunted by all of her fellow ninjas to put her down. Even her brother, who she found was still alive, was now hunting and searching for her as well. "If Yugi knew about this, he would do everything in his power to protect me. But, he would get killed in the process! I just can't let that happen! He's… too rare and wonderful to lose.", she whispered with tears in her eyes. Shortly, she shook it off and wiped her eyes dry. "For now, the others nor my brother know where I am. For now, I will live for the moment.", she told herself. Seeing that it was nearly time to wake her sleeping crush, Kasumi quickly combed her hair, which she decided to let it all flow down. Checking in a nearby mirror to make sure her preparations were complete, she smiled and walked out of her room.

Yugi was sound asleep, warm from both the heater and also the blankets beneath him. He soon heard a soft knock, and his violet eyes slowly fluttered open. "What time is it?", he asked groggily. He then looked at the clock, and saw that it was exactly 8:30 p.m.! "Oh, that's right! I'm supposed to meet Kasumi!", he said with a jolt. Quickly getting out of bed, he soon realized that he was still in his clothes. He dashed over and opened the door, and there a smiling Kasumi greeted him. The sight of her in a very long, flowing lavender kimono very much knocked him for a loop. "Hey, Yugi-sama.", she said with so much warmth and love that it surprised both of them. He smiled nervously and replied, "You too, Kasumi. I see that you're ready.". She blushed, but then noticed that Yugi was dressed in wrinkled clothes. "Um, Yugi…", she started to say when Yugi nodded knowingly. "I know. I feel asleep in them. Just give me some time to change, please.", he told her. She nodded in consent, Yugi thanking her before closing the door. A few minutes later, he emerged once again, only wearing a dark blue t-shirt, black jeans, and some brown sandals. "Shall we go?", he asked while offering his arm. She smiled, linked her arm with his, and replied, "Yes, lets.". The two then walked towards the elevator, ready to pop some fireworks and light up the night sky with them.

~Outside near Niki Beach~

The dazzling and colorful explosions of fireworks and rockets brightened the sky! Dozens of rockets shot into the air, exploding at the right time to create magnificent rings of either purple, gold, blue, or red. Kasumi and Yugi were laughing softly as they watched in awe upward towards the heavens. They each held a sparkler, which brightly gleamed in the night for them. The two were having a blast, seeing the fireworks and also being with each other. Now, they were sitting on the shore of the beach, Kasumi leaning her head on Yugi's shoulders and sighing in content. Yugi felt nervous at first, but soon relaxed. He felt… different around Kasumi. He felt at peace, and also more content. Unfortunately, he soon realized that he too felt that way around Ayane, Lei Fang, and Hitomi. 'This is really confusing! Why is this? Can I really hold on a crush on four girls?!', he thought. He then retorted, 'But, that's wrong! I don't want to be a player, or anything! Man, what a predicament I have!'. Kasumi sensed his tenseness, and slowly raised her eyes to her crush. "Is anything wrong, Yugi?", she asked. He looked at her, smiled and replied, "Oh, its nothing. Don't worry, its nothing.". He didn't want to bother Kasumi with his problems, especially this one. Kasumi was unsure of this, but decided it was best to let it go. She snuggled up to Yugi's chest, relishing it like the rarest, finest wine. 'I may not be with him in the future, but I am with him now. I'll try to savor this moment as long as I can.", she told herself as the two continued to watch the fireworks in the sky. Yugi gently, and slowly, put an arm around Kasumi's shoulders. The girl sighed in content, making no move to shrug it away.

~Out on the waters~

Two boats were heading towards the mainland, a large cruise ship on the west and a small yacht on the east. A helicopter was hot on the heels of the small yacht, but slowly losing ground. On the cruise ship, a young man of 23 or so was standing on the bow of the ship. He was dressed in an attire suitable for a ninja, covered from head to toe in black. His face was covered as well, save for the eyes and brown hair. It was Hayate, and he looked very cold and ticked off. "When I get my hands on Yugi Moto, he is going to wish he never even touch my sister.", he stated coldly. Suddenly, he felt the presence of another being right behind him. "Hmm?", the ninja inquired. "You're not the only one who wants to tear this boy's ass up.", the being stated gruffly. The full moon light revealed him to be Bass Armstrong, father to Tina and also professional wrestler extraordinaire! With him was Jann Lee, Hayabusa, Bayman, and Leon. Hayabusa came along, to back up Hayate and retrieve Kasumi. Bayman was invited because Zack had offered to him a bountiful amount of money to make sure Yugi never saw the light of day. That, and also the fact that he had a crush on Christie and was furious to learn from Zack that Yugi raped her in her own room with magic. Leon tagged along to make sure that Yugi would never use magic to manipulate and rape the ladies, once Zack informed him via phone. Zack's plan was coming into full bloom! Because of his lies, these men were going to kill him. "It will soon be daytime. I suggest we rest up for tomorrow.", " Jann Lee stated. Never saying a word, the ninja leaped up high and disappeared into the darkness. Taking that as a sign of agreement, the men also departed to gain some rest.

On the small yacht, Yami and the others were glad to see that their destination was soon in sight! "When we land there, we pick a spot to rest until tomorrow!", Duke declared. Seeing that it held to reason and the fact they were all tired, no one argued against it. Joey and the others went below, but Yami and Tea stayed out on the deck. "Beautiful night, isn't it Tea?", Yami asked the brunette. The blue-eyed girl smiled and snuggled up to the ex-Pharaoh. She replied, "It sure is, Yami.". The tall man smiled down at the woman, but his mind was on something else. 'Prepare yourself, Yugi! When I arrive, you will be ever so sorry for leaving and be thoroughly punished!', he declared in his mind. For now, he and his woman enjoyed the warm night and the sky above them.

Above and in back of them, Serenity and Cas were asleep in the helicopter. The two were snuggling together for warmth, which was due to the whirling blades above them. Seto and his two cyber-ladies where wide awake and still flying fine. "Peorth, how much further to the island?", the CEO demanded politely. Peorth replied, "With this speed, we'll make it to the island about 8:00 a.m.". Laga added in, "However, that baka Yami and his idiot friends will be there twenty minutes early!". Seto shook his head sadly and said, "Can't be helped. With Yami's magic powering them up, this is the best I can do.". Peorth stated, "And because of this, we are going to run out of fuel soon. We won't be able to make the journey back to Domino.". Laga yelled out, "I don't care! For now, let's concentrate on helping Yugi when we arrive! I got a bad feeling about all of this…". Seto and Peorth couldn't blame her. They felt that bad vibe too. It was the same for Cas and Serenity; both of them having nightmares. It all involved Yugi lying in a pool of his own blood, and his "friends" and other mysterious people shadowed in darkness laughing harshly while looking down at him with amusement. "Yugi… no…", was the sound coming from the two sleeping girls lips. Time was running out for them.

(Author's Notes: So, how was this?! I hope this enticed you all greatly, because the battle will soon start in the next chapter! Wish Yugi all the luck in the world!
