Yugi- DOA Volleyball Player?!

(Author's Notes: Sorry for long wait. But, my birthday (March 8th) came up and also the fact that I just moved into a new home! It's been hectic, that's for sure.

Yugi: Also, DJ's been on pins and needles to see if anyone else has read his little fanfic Somewhere Out There. He takes great pride in his story writing, since he claims that is his only good ability. But, I doubt that is the only thing he is good at.

Darien: Indeed! He gives himself little credit, but that's just him. He needs a confidence boost!

Chapter 16

Another glorious morning slowly dawned on the little isle known as Zack Island. It was about 7:45 a.m. when the little one known to all as Yugi stirred from his slumber. He stretched as he let out a small yawn. He remembered last night activities, and a small smile spread on his face. "She looked so happy and peaceful, like she hadn't done this thing in a long while.", he mused to himself. He slowly got out of bed, changed into a more comfortable attire, and then went outside to see if any of the other ladies were up. He saw Lisa outside his door, as if she was waiting for him. "Hey, cutie. Good morning.", she greeted him with a playful smirk. He blushed faintly, but played along. "Good morning to you too, Lisa. So, what's up?", he replied. The dark-tan woman smiled and answered, "Not much. The other ladies went off early this morning. Said they needed to do something important.". Heh, she knew what the important thing was. Yugi was now thinking on what to do for the day. "Want to have breakfast with me?", he asked. She nodded and said yes. With his trademark grin, he playfully hooked arms with her and the two went downstairs for breakfast. 'I'm glad that the ladies had the foresight to leave me behind to keep an eye on Yugi here. I might miss the big fight, but so be it.', the business executive woman thought. Little did Yugi realize was that all of the girls were at the Private Beach area, their little tournament underway!

Dressed up in their fighting attire, the four ladies of DOA were doing some late warm-up moves. The rules of the fight were to be the same as those used in the DOA tournament. Ayane and Lei Fang were the first to fight, then Lei Fang against Kasumi. The winners of both matches would then face each other, in a final elimination round! Tina, Christie, and Helena were to observe the match and also make sure to warn them all if Yugi should appear. At 8:15 a.m., it had begun! The combatants for the first match stepped up to the plate, staring each other down as they sized one another up. "Nothing personal, Lei Fang. But, I'm going to go all out if I want to gain the right to try and win Yugi's heart!", Ayane told her friend before going into a fighting stance. Lei Fang shook her head slightly and replied, "Same here. I will not hold back either. I will defeat you!". Going into her own fighting stance, the two waited for the go-ahead from Tina. "Get ready… FIGHT!!!", the buxom blonde declared. Ayane rushed in quick, hoping to end the bout quickly. She tried a shoulder charge, but it did little good. Lei Fang anticipated the move and countered it by throwing Ayane over her shoulder! It was a sleek and graceful move by her part. Ayane landed on her back with a thud, but the violet-haired beauty quickly rose to her feet and retaliated with a powerful thrust kick to the midsection! Lei Fang could not see the move fast enough, thus it connected and she was knocked back a couple of feet. Ayane ran over to her so she could capitalize on this turn of events, but she was not quick enough. The Chinese bombshell quickly snapped back up to an upright position and charged in as well! It was going to be one heck of a fight!

Back at the hotel, it was about 8:45 a.m. Time certainly flew for both Yugi and Lisa. After breakfast, Lisa went back upstairs to do some math crunching on her latest reports from Zack Industries. She came back down with them, wanting to do them on the patio of the Poolside area. As she was doing some difficult problems, Yugi came up and helped her out. The woman was certainly amazed on how sharp and smart Yugi's mind was. He flew past those problems with little difficulty. So, both continued to work on the papers together. Lisa wiped some sweat from her brow, the strain of the difficult problems and also the heat from the sun now getting to her. "Yugi, would you mind getting me a cup of coffee from the lobby?", she asked. He said it was no problem and went up to get it. As he went into the lobby, he heard a gruff voice from the shadows. It was male by the sound of it and it rasped, "Are you Yugi Moto?". Yugi nodded slowly towards the voice in the darkness… and received a very powerful flying kick! Yugi yelled in pain as he slammed into the wall, destroying the coffee machine and a half other dozen stuff with it. He managed to open his eyes slowly, and saw that his attacker stepped into the light. It was Jann Lee, and he looked very much pissed! "J-Jann Lee?", the young boy spoke out weakly. The powerful flying kick really did knock the wind out of him. As he slowly struggled to stand up, he was soon heaved into the air by another person from behind. He turned his head around to see that it was… Bass!! "Bass? What are-?", Yugi was about to say, but he never finished it. Bass slammed him down repeatedly with one hand, like a little girl swinging around her doll! The poor young man was being slammed down on the hard tile floor before being thrown out of the hotel.

Lisa was relaxing a bit on one of the deck chairs, waiting for Yugi to return with some coffee. "I wonder what is keeping him?", she asked herself. She got her answer when she heard a scream and a splash in the pool behind her. She turned around, and was very much horrified to see Yugi sinking into the water! Without hesitation, she dove in clothes and all, and swam down towards the drowning man. Yugi tried to swim back up desperately, but he received too much damage from Bass and Jann Lee. He was slowly loosing consciousness when he felt two strong arms grip him from the waist. He came up to the surface and gulped down sweet lungfulls of air. He took a look to see his rescuer, and it turned out to be Lisa. He was very thankful towards her for saving her life. "Yugi! You okay?", the woman asked him as she swam to the edge of the pool. She held him aloft, very much confused on how he got bruised up like that. "Yugi, who did this to you?!", she demanded. He choked out some water, and was about to reply when someone else did it for him. "We did.", a familiar voice replied. Lisa looked towards the entranceway to the lobby, and gasped on who she saw emerge from the darkness. Out emerged Jann Lee, Bass, Hayabusa, Bayman, Leon, and Hayate! "You guys?!", she exclaimed. Another voice spoke up, "All of them here, courtesy of me.". Zack soon emerged from behind the group, a smug smirk on his face. Lisa's face showed that of shock briefly, then turned to that of anger. She clutched Yugi tightly to her chest area, until she felt him trying to squirm away. "Lisa… go. Get the… others. Tell them… what's happening.", he rasped out. Lisa looked bewildered at the man and whispered, "What?! No way, Yugi! No way I am letting you alone with these men!". Yugi gently shrugged away from her and slowly stood before his enemies. "I… will be fine. Just… get help. Please.", he told her before giving her an assuring smile. She was hesitant at first, but then sprinted off to go find the others. "Leave her be. Just concentrate on the one in front of us!", Zack ordered. With no delay, the fighters slowly stalked towards the defiant one. Yugi grimaced slightly and thought, 'This will not be easy.'.

Lisa streaked towards the beach where the fight was being held at, pushing herself past her limits so she could help Yugi. When she had arrived, she saw that Ayane and Kasumi were battling it out. Hitomi and Lei Fang were on the sidelines, Helena and Christie tending to their wounds and bruises. Lisa ran over to them while yelling, "Stop! Stop!!". Everyone froze in their tracks and looked towards the young woman in confusion. "Lisa?! What is wrong?", Tina inquired. She had never seen her friend so upset before. Lisa panted for some air while answering, "It's… Yugi! Hayate, Bass, Jann Lee! Everyone is here!". That made some of them go white with terror. She continued, "Zack… tricked them somehow. We got to… help Yugi out! They're going… to really pound him!". With a very audible gasp, Kasumi streaked past them all and towards the hotel. Ayane and the rest soon followed afterwards, very much concerned for Yugi as was Kasumi. When they finally reached the Poolside, they saw some splattered blood near the rim of the pool. Alas, no Yugi. "Where is he?!", Lei Fang exclaimed in horror. Just then, a scream of pain filled the air. "YUGI!!!", was the collective reply from all the ladies. With ninja-like speed, the girls raced deep into the heart of the jungle, where the scream was heard. Kasumi growled protectively in her throat and vowed to herself, "If one of them, even my brother, even tries to kill him… they'll have to go through me first!!". The others also thought within that limit too!

~In the jungle~

Yugi crumpled down to the ground as he slammed hard on a palm tree, him being thrown by Hayate. The ninja stood over his victim, a powerful cold gaze fixed in his eyes. "Now, Hayate! Finish him off before he can use his magic on you! Just like he did to Kasumi and the others!", Zack ordered. Without saying a word, Hayate took out from his waist a long, slender assassin blade. "Die.", was his only phrase before lifting the shining blade up. Yugi managed to open his left eye weakly, seeing the ninja ready to strike. 'Heh, so this is it. It didn't matter how many times I tried to convince them that I didn't do those acts like Zack said. I'm just… surprised that I lasted this long against them.', he thought bitterly. He waited for the end to come, remembering all the good times he had on the island. Hayate was about to deliver the critical blow, when an orange blur came between the two! It blocked the blade and knocked it aside. "Don't you dare touch him, brother!", a cold voice ordered. Yugi's eyes snapped open as he saw his savior. It was Kasumi, and she was not alone! Joining her were the other ladies, all of them having a very ticked off look on their faces. "Kasumi…", Hayate breathed out. It had been so long since he had last seen her. Kasumi inquired, "Why, brother?! Why are you doing this?!". He lowered his head down and replied, "I think you know why, Kasumi. I am here to retrieve you, and also here to kill Yugi for doing what he did to you!". Kasumi looked confused until Hayate actually said it. "He raped you, manipulating you by magic.", he said in a low voice.

Kasumi actually wanted to throw up, right then and there. Ayane wanted to do the same thing, but kept it down. Lei Fang and Hitomi looked at the ninja incredulously, as did the rest. "What… did you just say?!", Ayane whispered. She prayed she heard wrong. Bass stepped in and replied, "You heard him! That little punk there raped her, and then the rest of you by some magic stuff he did!". Tina looked at her father as if he lost his mind. Zack stepped in and said, "I saw your little friend there use magic earlier on with Helena. Thus, he used magic on you all!". That's when it hit them all. Zack was actually manipulating them to get rid of Yugi! "That's not true!", Tina exclaimed. Bass went to his daughter and replied, "He's doing it now! He's controlling you all with his magic!". Tina shoved her father away hard and looked at him square in the eye. She exclaimed, "Dad! He didn't do any of that stuff, and he is not mind-controlling us!". Kasumi and Ayane hovered in front of Yugi protectively, like human shields. Christie whispered to Lisa, "Lisa, go. Take Yugi as far as you can so he can recover.". Lisa nodded and slowly, stealthfully scooted closer to the fallen lad. When she was near enough, she gently took him into her protective arms and slowly started to walk away. "Oh no, you don't!", shouted Jann Lee. He was about to administer another flying kick, when Lei Fang blocked it! "What the-!?", was the exclamation by the Bruce Lee wanna-be when the seemingly "weak-woman" blocked his most powerful attack! Lei Fang took a fighting stance and said venomously, "Not on my watch, Lee.". Hitomi joined her, ready to go against her former teacher and idol. "Lisa, get Yugi out of here!", Lei Fang ordered. Nodding her head, Lisa ran off deeper into the jungle. The rest were about to follow, but they hit a major roadblock! "Leave him be.", Kasumi whispered before assuming a fighting stance.

Lisa ran deep into the jungle, Yugi tucked securely in her arms. She saw that he was trying hard to remain conscience, which actually amazed her. 'He looks like he went ten rounds with Evander Holyfield and Oscar DeLa Hoya, and he still is trying to hang on?!', she thought. Yugi was a lot stronger then what any of them gave him credit for. She was about to emerge from the jungle near the Yacht harbor when she saw a small group approaching them. One of them looked a lot like Yugi, but taller and also much more dark in nature and appearance. "What the-?!", she responded when the older man saw her. "Hey, you!", he called out. The group was about five feet from her and Yugi, when some other beings emerged from the sidelines! It was Seto, Cas, and Serenity! "Stop right there, Yami!", Seto commanded to the ex-Pharaoh. Lisa looked at him, the two ladies, and then at the other group. "What is going on here?!", she demanded. Seto stepped in and replied, "Sorry if this seems confusing, miss. But, I'll try to make it short and simple. My name is Seto Kaiba, and these two are my acquaintances, Jocasta Stephenson and Serenity Wheeler.". Cas stepped in, "We're here to rescue Yugi. From those brutes Zack tricked into believing he raped the other ladies.". Serenity finished it, "And also from those bakas over there! They're trying to take Yugi back home and punish him for leaving!". That's when the two ladies finally saw the fallen hero. They shirked in alarm and went over to see Yugi more clearly.

"What happened?!", Cas exclaimed. Yami called out, "That's nothing after I get through with him!". He and the others advanced towards the duo, but Seto and his two lady friends stood as a barrier against them. "No, Yami! Not this time.", Seto said. Lisa gently handed Yugi to Cas and ordered her to get Yugi as far away as possible. "I'll hold them off as long as possible. Just get him out of here.", she told the young maid. Cas shivered visibly, being so close to her crush. She nodded, then took off like a shot back into the jungle. Yami and the others raced after her, but Serenity, Seto, and now Lisa stood in their way. "You have to go through us first, jerk!", Lisa declared as she prepared herself to fight! So, a large battle has erupted! The DOA girls fighting against their foes, and also Seto and Co. going at it with Yami and his crew. With Yugi slowly losing consciences, what will happen next?

(Author's Notes: I hope you all like this one! Now, this is where things get good! Only a few more chapters until the climax! The big finish!!

Yugi: Well, at least I'm hanging on here.

Darien: That shows how strong you are, Yugi. You fight the odds, no matter what they seem!
