—“MORE times a billion,” says my readers. A billion chapters I can't do, but Chapter 5 I shall deliver. Now that we've gotten passed the little half lemon, you know what'll come next. ;) Yes folks, the Atemu/Yuugi lemon will make its debut…soon. Sorry to say that it shall not be in this chapter. However, this chapter does contain Atemu's day without Yuugi. Let us see what sort of stuff Atemu can get into when Yuugi isn't around.

—One more thing. DML is oblivious to all these terms you guys use on Mediaminer. Is there like a MM.org dictionary you guys get these from? Excuse my stupidity, but I'm still new to Mediaminer, even though I've been here for…what…almost a year? Wow. Anyways, help a sista out, please. x)

Chapter 5 - Atemu's Day Out

The next morning, Yuugi received a call from his office downtown. His colleagues needed his help translating some ancient text that was beyond their knowledge. Yuugi beamed a little when he heard this. Grandpa Mutou had taught Yuugi every translation “trick” he knew.

“Solomon Mutou was an excellent translator of ancient texts and you've followed in his footsteps.” said a former colleague of Mr. Mutou's. “That is why we need you.”

Yuugi looked over his shoulder. Atemu was finishing his breakfast and Foxie was sitting beside her dish, meowing for food. Yuugi was less worried about Atemu being home alone. But if Yuugi would be gone longer than two hours…

“So how long do you think it will take?” Yuugi asked.

“Well…uh, I don't know. It's pretty big, but it's extremely important that we translate this text. It could be a key to finding the Village of Kamuzu.”

The Village of Healing, thought Yuugi. Egyptian legends say that Kamuzu was a small town filled with healers and they made their livings by healing the sick and wounded. Yuugi sighed and said, “Okay. I'll be there in fifteen minutes.”

“Great! Thank you so much!” There was a click and then a dial tone and Yuugi hung up.

“Was that Tea again?” Atemu asked, sitting back from his breakfast.

Yuugi shook his head. After last night, he didn't know if he could look Atemu in the face again. He walked over to Foxie and took her dish. She batted at her dish and waited patiently as Yuugi got out the cat food.

“Who was that on your…receiver?”

“It's called a telephone. The device that you talk into is called the receiver.” Yuugi said. “And that was one of my colleagues at work. I have to go to work and translate some ancient Egyptian text for them.”

“I'll go in your place! Or take me with you.” Atemu said, jumping up. “I'll bet I could recite those texts faster than those old fools could blink.” He gave a boastful half-smile.

Yuugi laughed as he placed Foxie's food down for her. “I bet you could. Only a good deal of them is young fools, not old fools.”

Atemu chuckled. “Fine. Let me come with you.”

Yuugi stared at him directly for the first time since their…moment last night. “I can't. I don't know how long I'll be gone. I'd really prefer you stay here and watch Foxie. She gets lonely.”

The former king sighed. “Very well. If that's what you want, then I'll stay here.”

“Good. Shirley lives in that white house with the green roof. It's just across the street. Go to her if you need anything. Or better yet…” Yuugi scribbled something on a piece of paper and taped it up next to where the phone sat. “Call this number. That's Shirley's home number.” He showed Atemu how to use the phone and the Pharaoh wanted to try, but Yuugi stopped him.

“I need to get to work now. Will you be okay by yourself?”

“I'll manage.”

“Good. I'll be back as soon as possible.” Yuugi said.

——————

An hour later and Atemu was already bored. There was nothing on TV worth watching and he'd already scribbled in every textbook and travel guide that Yuugi had. Foxie was snoozing on the couch and Atemu stroked her fur. She gave a sleepy groan and purred a little.

Atemu stood and looked out the window. The houses were about the same size as Yuugi's house. One story buildings of brick with small front yards of green grass. Now that was something Atemu hadn't seen before in a very long time. The last time he'd even touched grass was when he was a child. He leapt outside and knelt down to run his hand over the green.

He lay down and sighed happily. The grass felt soft compared to the rough, scratchy sands of Egypt. Still, he did miss his homeland occasionally. How had Egypt changed in five thousand years? Atemu stared up at the sky. I miss my friends from back home and my people, he thought. Was ruling Egypt really what I was all about? Was it all I had to look forward to?

He sighed again, but sadly this time. Today he wore his black zodiac shirt with the tight, black lather pants and some steel-toed black shoes to match. Suddenly a car passed by with several young girls in it. The car had no roof and the breeze was playing with the girls' long hair. They giggled and waved at Atemu.

He stood and stared at them. One particularly bosomy girl said, “Hey, sexy. Wanna come party with us?”

Atemu enjoyed parties. They had always gotten his mind off the stress of ruling a country. He didn't think much of it, so he hurried to close the front door and walked over to the car. The girls were whispering excitedly to each other and giggled when Atemu came back.

The bosomy girl winked at Atemu and gestured to the backseat where two other girls were sitting, each wearing a very low-cut shirt. Atemu tried not stare, thinking that it would be awfully rude. He got into the car and the girls sat him in the middle. As the car drove down the street, the girls were all over him and complimenting him on everything from how his shirt fitted over his chest to how well his pants shaped his legs to how soft his spiky hair was.

Atemu tried to return each compliment with one of his own and for each compliment he gave, he received a giggle or a smile. Finally he asked the girl who was driving, “Where exactly are we going?”

She looked at him through the rearview mirror. “We're gonna take you to this awesome new club that just opened up. It's called Café Par-Tay.”

Atemu had no idea what to make of all this, but he assumed that it would be fun. The girl on his left asked, “So, hottie, did you just move here?”

“Uh, yes. From Egypt.” The girls ooh-ed and ahh-ed. The girl on Atemu's right asked, “What's it like? That's the place with all the sand and no beaches, right?”

Dimwit, thought Atemu, I'll try not to explain too much. “Yes. It's very hot there and lots of people wear turbans to protective their heads.”

“What's a turban?” asked the girl in the front, passenger seat of the car.

Atemu noticed she was wearing a long, blue-beaded scarf. “I'll show you. Will you lend me your scarf?”

The girls giggled and the scarf-wearing girl blushed, saying, “Come up here and get it.”
With that she took the scarf off and stuffed into her shirt where her chest was.

The other girls started making all kinds of screams and whoops and laughing noises that Atemu didn't know what to do. The two girls in the backseat egged him on to get the scarf. But the former Pharaoh didn't want to stick his hand down in the breasts of a strange woman.

“Well, it's…a scarf wrapped around your hair.” Atemu explained.

The girls giggled to each other and the scarf girl pouted when Atemu wouldn't grab for the scarf. The girls chattered away and finally introduced themselves. The driver was Mallory; the scarf girl was Jeanette; the girl on Atemu's left was Anna; and the semi-intelligent girl on Atemu's right was Ruby.

Each girl wore either very short skirts or very short shorts. Only Jeanette, Mallory and Ruby wore low-cut shirts of different colors. Anna seemed to be the only modest one in the group. She wore a black T-shirt with a pink bunny wrapped in white. Under the bunny said: “Cute, but Psycho”. Her short shorts were a flashy pink color and on her feet were black sandals with high heels. She carried in her lap a black, pink and white purse with an “A” on the front.

She also appeared to be the only sensible one of the group. Whereas the other girls had no clue about Egypt, Anna would say something like, “Oh the Sphinx is amazing. Y'know I always thought it was, like, this mysterious temple or something.” She actually knew what the hell she was talking about.

But she blushed and became silent when Mallory said, “Oh my God, Anna, no one wants to hear you blabber on like a smart aleck. Especially not Al.”

“Al?”

“Wait, is that your name?” Mallory asked, her brow wrinkling.

“It's Atemu. A-t-e-m-u, the `u' is silent.” Atemu said. “Ah-t-em,” he sounded it out.

But only Anna seemed to hear him. The others were simply giggling and trying to touch him.

“Your name…” whispered Anna, “it means `sun disk' right?”

Atemu nodded. “You're very smart, Anna.”

Anna blushed. “I'm studying to be an Egyptologist.” This news made Atemu rather happy. He wanted to talk to Anna more, but the car suddenly stopped.

“We're here!” announced Mallory gesturing to a big building with a glowing Café Par-Tay sign above the door. There was a big, muscular guy guarding the door. He nearly blended in with the black bricks of the walls.

“Everybody got their IDs?” asked Jeanette. “Can't go clubbin' without an ID, girls.”

What's an ID? Whatever it is, I don't think I have one. Atemu got out of the car with the girls and said, “I don't have an ID with me, ladies. I'm sorry.”

“Aww…” said Mallory, Ruby, and Anna in unison.

“Oh my God! Girls I know the bouncer! It's all right, Al. I can get you in without an ID.”

“How Jeanette?” asked Ruby.

Jeanette leaned over and whispered, “I've slept with that bouncer.”

That was more information than I wanted, thought Atemu. He took a step back. “You know I just remembered that I forgot to pick up some medicine for my…sick friend.”

Mallory pulled him back. “You can do that after you party with us, Al.”

“It's Atemu, Mallie.” Anna said.

“Whatever!” Mallory sneered, running her fingers through Atemu's hair. “Come and shake your ass with us.”

Atemu cocked an eyebrow. “I'm sorry, but maybe some other time. My friend is very sick and I nearly forgot about his medicine. If I don't go and get it soon, he could…he might—”

“Need the emergency room?” Anna supplied and Atemu nodded. Anna tugged Mallory off Atemu. “C'mon, Mallie. Let him take care of his sick friend. Maybe he can come to the frat party.”

“Good idea. We'll pick you up at the same place in a week, Al.” Jeanette said.

Great, Atemu thought. “Uh well…” He trailed off as the girls hurried towards the entrance to Café Par-Tay.

——————

Two hours later, Atemu was still trying to find his way home. All the strange buildings in this modern world looked alike. The only recognizable buildings were food places. There was one called McDonald's, another named after some Wendy girl, and a place where you could be a burger king.

Atemu went inside the McDonald's. A girl with big, blue eyes and short brown hair with a few strands of gray hair on the very top of her head stood at a strange contraption with signs displaying Buy One Apple Pie and Get another Free.

The girl's eyes widened and exclaimed, “Yuugi?!”

“You know Yuugi?” Atemu asked, thankful that he finally found someone who might help him.

“Yes.” But Atemu felt his spirits shot down when she added, “My name is Tea. I used to date Yuugi.”

“Oh. My name is Atemu, I'm Yuugi's roommate.”

“Yuugi has a roommate? Huh, he never told me about it.” Tea shrugged. “So where is he? Did he mention me?”

“Yes. He told me you both were in love. He said you wanted to start…dating again.” Atemu said in a monotone voice. He wanted to practically scream in her face that Yuugi didn't love her anymore. No, he thought, as much as I want to, I shouldn't. This is Yuugi's relationship and I won't mess with it.

“And has he decided yet?”

“Tea!” shouted a stout man with a white shirt with a black tie and matching pants. “You can chat all you like when you're on break. Take the customer's order, will ya?”

“I don't want anything. I'm asking her for directions.” Atemu sneered. He gave the man such a hard look that he didn't protest.

Tea sighed heavily. “Anyways, where do you need directions to?”

“I seem to be lost. Do you know where Yuugi lives?”

“You're new to the city, huh?”

“Yes.” And remembering something from a TV show he'd seen, he added, “I'm a transfer student from Egypt.”

“Transfer student? To college right? Domino Community College?”

“Y-Yes. That's the one.”

“That's so cool! I have night classes there! Why haven't I seen you on campus?”

Atemu licked his lips and thought up another rile quickly. “Well…you haven't really been looking, have you?”

That statement took Tea by surprise. “Uh…yeah. Good point, Atemu. So you want to know where Yuugi's currently living? To be honest, I have no idea. But I know where he works now. I get off in twenty minutes if you'd like to wait for me.”

How would Yuugi react to me coming to his work with the girl he doesn't love? Atemu bit his lip in thought. “Is there any way I can find Yuugi's address?”

“A phonebook. They don't have a phonebooks in Egypt?”

Atemu shook his head. “No.”

“Okay, hold on a second.” Tea left and came back shortly after with a fat book with yellow and white pages. “The white pages are alphabetized by the person's last name. So Yuugi would be under `M' for Mutou.”

“Thank you.” Atemu went to sit down and flipped through the white pages. He found Mutou, Yuugi in no time. Tea set a napkin and a pen down next to Atemu and he wrote down the address. He gave Tea back the phonebook and thanked her. She gave him a map as well to help him find his way.

“Thank you again, Tea.” Atemu said and left.

——————

“You haven't heard from him all day?!” Yuugi exclaimed. He was standing on Shirley's front porch after just coming home from work and finding Atemu gone. When he'd asked Shirley if she'd seen him, Shirley told him no.

“Sorry hon.” Shirley said. “Last time I saw him, he was lying in your front lawn inspecting the grass.” She chuckled. “It was so cute…like he'd never seen grass before.”

“He used to live in a desert. I'm not surprised.” Yuugi said quietly.

Shirley patted Yuugi's shoulder. “Don't you worry suga. I'm sure he'll find his way back.”

Yuugi nodded and walked back across the street. It was almost six and the sun was setting. Atemu, thought Yuugi, why didn't you stay home? Where could you be? He glanced down the sidewalk and his eyes widened.

“Yuugi!” Atemu shouted.

“Oh my God! Atemu, you're okay!” Yuugi ran towards the former Pharaoh and hugged him tightly. “Where've you been? I've been worried sick about you.”

“I've been trying to read this damned map for hours now.” Atemu said, holding up a huge map of Domino and the surrounding cities.

Yuugi brushed the tears from his face and released the Pharaoh. “Come on. You have to tell me what's been going on.”

Once inside, Atemu and Yuugi sat on the couch together and Atemu told Yuugi about his day, including meeting Tea.

When Atemu mentioned that, Yuugi groaned a little and slumped on the couch. “I don't know when I want to tell her. She has a kid, Atemu! I know I'd be a better father than the girl's real dad, but…I don't know. There's all this conflict inside me and I…I just don't know what to do.”

Atemu rested his head against Yuugi's. “I won't make the decision for you, Yuugi. When this conflict inside you is over, let me know first.”

Yuugi sighed, feeling a little better. “Thanks Atemu.” He blushed when he felt Atemu's hand start to wander around his back. He tried to think about other things, but his mind constantly came back to the moment last night when he felt Atemu's crotch against his butt.

Absently, Yuugi found himself running his hand up and down Atemu's thigh. The ex-king moved his mouth against Yuugi's ear and started nipping at the young man's lobe. Yuugi suppressed a moan of pleasure and felt his pants growing tighter as the Pharaoh's lips moved down to mark Yuugi's neck.

Atemu groaned against Yuugi's neck when he felt the young man's hand touch his already hardening erection. He let his hand slip inside Yuugi's pants and cup the most sensitive part of Yuugi's body.

Yuugi hissed as Atemu started to massage his crotch with his hand and his neck with his lips. And—

The door bell rang.
