Escape

~Huni's POV~

I was, to say the least, nervous about tonight. Tonight was the night of the full moon. I had already made a vow to myself that on the next full moon, I will run away from this hell hole. I also vowed that when I escape, I would exact my revenge on the "master" soon to be the late "master". Now to think of it, I never knew his name... Oh well. I had everything perfectly planned out. In the middle of the night, I would sneak out in my demon form, grab those little artifacts that in that room that the "old" lady led me to, and just run out of there. Once I was free, I would go to the Demon Capital and sell those artifacts and live out the rest of my days. But, as my mother used to say, easier said than done.

~That Night(A/N: Think around 8:00, she's gonna "escape" at little later than midnight)~

"Huni, are you sure about doing this? I mean you can get caught, or you can get hurt by those magic things your trying to steal, or even worse, you can get killed."

"Oh my Ra, Gremlin(From Chapter 2. Think a chibified CUTE Feral Imp), thanks for booting up my confidence. I really needed to hear that." the soon-to-be former slave said, clearly aggravated.

"Well, if you really wanted to do this, there's no stopping you. Just like there was no stopping your mother from running away to marry your father. But you will not do this alone." the tiny guardian said.

"What do you mean, Grem?" asked Huniserra.

"Well, you weren't supposed to see these until your were twelve, becuase, you might not be able to control the power. But that is a risk we will have to take." said Gremlin while digging through the mess in his hole in the shadow realm.

"O...Kay..."

"They were your mother's, she loved them like nothing else. She could win everything with them. Ahh...I remember--"

"Gremlin... WHAT ARE THEY?????"

"What are what? Ohhh...those, yeah, hold on... HERE THEY ARE!!!!!"

The little imp jumped out of the portal to and from the Shadow Realm and handed Huniserra a pack of cards. On the back of the cards was written, BEWARE THE PHARAOH'S BANE, and on the front were pictures of creatures.

"My mother was a duelist? Why are you giving these to me? I don't even have magic let alone the one that allows me to transform into a demon but thats it! "

"Quiet! They might hear you! As I was saying, the top card is our main family guardian, Sheriyuu the blue dragon. The next two cards are Spirit Runner, or The White Wolf, and Phoenix of the Sea and our are secondary guardians. Sheriyuu will come out when you summon it but the other two do not have physical form, so to speak, and will only appear in a area with a lot of mana[1], during a shadow game, or the shadow realm."

"And...what good will they do to me?" asked Huniserra.

"Just focus your mind and soul on card and ease it out. The first time it will be difficult, but after that, it will be a piece of cake." said the Gremlin.

"Alright...whatever you say..."

Moments passes silently between the two, and Gremlin moved to look out the window.

"Soon, the moon will be positioned right above Egypt. Are you ready?"

"Yes."

Huniserra crawled in her so called bed and tried to get some sleep before the moon was in the right position. Gremlin crawled back into his little cozy spot in the Shadow Realm and watched the moon. But both of them failed to notice the breathing coming from behind the door...

~Dead of Night~

A cloaked figure(where she got the cape, I'll never know) sneaked around the hallway of the mansion, avoiding the servants' chambers and headed straight for the kitchen. Once there, the figure removed her hood and grabbed a couple of sacks. 'Let's see, one sack for food, and one sack to carry the treasure. I won't need water for I'll be traveling right along the Nile. Checklist. Lets see, I've got the cards, I've got supplies, Gremlin has my parent's old weapons, now I have to go to the treasury before anyone finds out I'm gone.'

Huniserra crept along the corridors and approached the treasury. She slowly opened the heavy iron door and walked through. There, in front of her, on two stone pillars decorated with heiroglyphics, were the items she was searching for, the Millenium Scale[1] (I know you all know what a M. Scale is but, thats not what that footnote is about)and the Wings of the Nile amulet. She stood there gazing and the craftmanship and the power radiating from the two items, before realizing that there was not much time left.

Causiously, the young demon reached up and hesitated before grabbing the two mystical objects. As soon as the two golden amulets left their seat on the pillars, a strange greenish-white glow started emmitting from the pillars.

"Not good, not good... Gremlin! Whats happening?"

"It seems as though you've set off an alarm when you removed the Millenium Scale and the Wings Amulet. You must turn into your demon form. Take out Sheriyuu's card and keep it close at hand for you never know when you might need it. Remember, focus. "

Soon yelling could be heard from the master's corridor. There was also a lot pf clanking as if thought they have taken many weapons. Huniserra, now a water demon (wolf thingy in Rising into Slavery), fled along the corridors, heading toward the stables. She turned a corner just as the first arrows were being fit into the bows. Panting, Huni looked behind her to see if they cought up with her yet, but ended up running into someone.

"Hello, Huniserra, I've received information that you would try an escape tonight. Well, its my job to stop you."

Huni looked up into the face of the Captain of the Slave Master and froze...
