Chapter 3: Run Away and Desert Clouds
Over the next few months' things heated up for the princess, she could not see the man she loved because she was busy with suitors and preparations for the upcoming ball for the royals. Kurai got one or two chances's to see Lan and they decided to tell their parent of their decision.
“Kurai you seem a bit happy today. What is it that makes you smile like your mother?” The pharaoh noticed his daughter stroll in with a happy smile upon her face. Her smile seemed to shine brighter than the desert sun on their horse ride through the kingdom.
“I am happy father because I may have found my fiancé.” Kurai's golden bangs blew in the afternoon desert winds.
“Who is this lucky young man?” Atemu was curious as to who the man could be.
“Lan.” The pharaoh's face paled.
“Lan son of the high priest Seth?” The pharaoh looked concerned.
“Yes father. Why? Does this displease you?” Kurai also began to look a little worried; their horses stopped trotting in the sun.
“I don't like this, of all people, why him?”
“Because Father, he comforts me when I am down, he helps me when I am in need, and he understands me.” Kurai just turned around. “And most importantly…. Father is that he loves me. I thought you would understand that” Kurai rode back to the palace and disappeared in an instant.
“I am just worried…my little desert flower. Father is just worried for his daughter”
Meanwhile Kurai hitched the horse and ran into the palace only to find high priest Seth yelling at Lan.
“How could you do such a thing Lan? I mean look at her…she's not even worth it.” Seth scolded his son.
“She is more than worth it. In fact she is my fiancé.” Lan broke out and ran in the direction of Kurai was coming.
“COME ON!” Lan jumped on the horse and the two sped into the desert sands.
“Maybe I can use this to my advantage, with the daughter being gone and nothing holding me back I can easily claim the throne no matter how powerful the pharaoh is.” High Priest Seth walked into the dark reaches of the palace. “I will retrieve Lan when I have taken power here at the capital. Until then run while you can because no matter where you run I will find you Lan and your `fiancé' will have to come back if she wants you or her kingdom back.” Seth chuckled with a taste of evil and went to put his plan into action.
Over the next 3 months, the country of Egypt had no safe place and there were always dark clouds circling the palace. One day in desert two young people noticed this many miles away.
“Lan this isn't good what if dad is caught up in that?” The young maiden spoke.
“Don't worry nothing has happened to them.”
“ITS NOT WHATS HAPPENED TO THEM!!!” Seth's voice rang over the sands and they began to shift. “ITS WHAT GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU!”
A huge white hand with claws came erupting out of the desert sands and grabbed Lan.
“ A BLUE EYE'S WHITE DRAGON! There's only one person I know who uses a blue eye's besides Lan…uh” Kurai was slammed against a passing caravan as the dragon took off in the direction of the palace. Her side began to drip with ruby red blood and it dripped into the desert sand
“Little girl come home everyone is waiting for you…including daddy. He's just dying to see you again you little bitch!”
“You deceitful BASTARD! Kurai was hit again and this time the spike went straight through her left leg and blood splashed all over the place and she screamed in pain.
“Now while you're just sitting there in agonizing pain hear me out” Seth's face appeared on the horizon. “Come back to the palace if you ever want your love, your father and you kingdom ever again.” He looked at her wounds. “Get cleaned up first you little bitch. Can't fight with wounds that fatal.” Another spike rises “Don't make me kill you, you have great powers at work inside your little body and you have to use them to your advantage when you come and fight.”
With those final words, Seth disappeared from the horizon and the dragon flew back to the palace and the blood continued to trickle down from her wounds.
“Is someone in pain? A grayish haired boy came from the wagon and saw the wounded princess. “Odion she's wounded we have to heal her quick!
Kurai saw the gray haired boy come up to her, he had unmistakable violet eyes and the tall man just seemed to help comfort her.
“Who are you people?” Kurai was beginning to lose consciousness too much blood had escaped.
“I am Malik, Mailk Ishtar and that's my brother Odion. We are going to help you princess.” Odion carried Kurai to a mat in the caravan.
“How…how do you know who I am? Kurai was surprised that even peasants were aware of her whereabouts.
“Who could mistake these golden bangs? This muscular body? That face? You're the daughter of the pharaoh. We are glad to help,”
Kurai lost consciousness on the word `help' and she shut her crimson eyes as Malik gave her a pain killer herb and the two men had begun to stitch her up, removing the spikes and stitching her wounds. At about Midnight she regained consciousness.
“Your awake I see.” Maliks violet eye's shocked her at first.
“How long has Egypt been this way? Malik lowered his head, Odion just looked away.
“For three months, ever since the princess disappeared everything went into disaster. High priest Seth has claimed the throne and has thrown the real pharaoh in prison and the only person who even has a chance at taking him down is you your highness.”
“Well…. I guess I should go back.” Kurai looks around and then back at Malik again. “How close can you get me to the palace?”
“Well we can get you to the kingdom border, we can't get you any closer because of Thief King Bakura.”
“Well then that will do. Go to the kingdom border!”
With those words, Kurai, Malik and Odion sped to the kingdom of Egypt.
