Title: Dirty Little Secret

Author: Reyn

Rating: S for Smut and M for Masturbation. So I guess the rating would be S&M.

Disclaimer: I do not own YuGiOh. If I did, there would be a lot more romance and a lot less dueling. Kind of like what's happening now with Yugi's soul gone and Yami's jest tearing up inside. Eek! I can't believe he cried! ::runs off squealing:: I love the shonen-ai!

Author's Note: After much thought and debate (actually only 3 minutes worth of thought and very little debate) I have decided to go with my reviewers opinion and start off chapter two under Yami Bakura's POV. Hope you like it!

LoL! I apologize for the flashback taking over this chapter. I never really like the mysterious way the Yami's are suddenly walking around with their own bodies…

Chapter 2

Bakura slouched in his seat with his feet propped up on the desk before him. He hated school. He found it to be boring, despite the fact that it had been an improvement from his previous residence; locked in a cold, dark soul room.

The problem with having his own body was the fact that the insufferable Pharaoh also had one, and made a point to keep an eye on the Tomb Robber as much as possible. This put a huge damper on many of his plans and dreams once he had finally been freed from his other half.

Drowning out the teacher's words, Bakura let his thoughts drift back to when the soul separation had occurred.

The day had finally come. All the obstacles had been won and the use for the Millennium items was no more. Standing in front of the great alter, Shadi had demanded the items be replaced so that they could be kept safe until the next time their need was great.

Ishizu handed her Necklace over as she bowed down and thanked the gods, while Kaiba had simply tossed over the Rod and Eye without a second thought. (The items had been kept with him since he posed as the least threat seeing as how he didn't believe in all the `hocus pocus crap'). The rest of the items were replaced and the group turned expectantly to both Little Yugi and Ryou.

Yugi took a hesitant step forward holding the puzzle before him. The feeling of reluctance was coming off him in waves. Bakura knew how he felt, thanks to his Light's understanding of the situation, although he really didn't see the point to it all.

After what seemed like an eternity, the small brat was close enough to just drop the puzzle into place. Tears were streaming down his face and he was trembling. His pathetic friends were cheering him on, when he suddenly surprised them all.

He took a step back and held the puzzle tightly against his chest.

"Eh, Yug?" Jou asked. "The alter is the other way."

"No." Yugi's determined voice replied.

"What do you mean no?" Honda said. "The-."

"I won't do it." Yugi interrupted. "I can't."

"You must." was Shadi's simple reply.

"Yugi, we all know how close you are to the Pharaoh, but it has to be done." Anzu attempted to reason.

"No! You have no idea how close we are! He's a part of me, Anzu! More to me than you'll ever understand! I can't give him up!" Yugi argued as he took several more determined steps away from the alter.

"You fool! It doesn't matter how close you are! The Item must be replaced! Fate has-."

"I don't care!" Yugi shouted as he put the chain back through the puzzle and hung it on his neck.

Anzu looked at Yugi sympathetically and pulled him to the side. "Look, maybe Yugi and the Spirit need a little more time to say their goodbyes. Maybe we should let Ryou go first."

The group looked expectantly at Ryou, waiting for him to move forward. With a mental sigh, Bakura braced himself against the tortuous shadows that he knew would come, when-

"No."

"Say what?" Jou asked disbelievingly

"I'm not giving him up." Ryou had stated simply with a small shrug of his shoulders.

Bakura had nearly gone into shock at that. Why would his Hikari want to keep him? He was a cruel sadistic jerk who did nothing but use and abuse hisLlight the entire time. A fact that was currently being spoken by Yugi's friends.

"I don't care. I'm with Yugi on this one." Ryou moved over by the tri-colored hair boy.

Yugi managed a smile through his tears at the silver haired boy. Despite the fact that the Ring's Spirit was evil, he understood perfectly what Ryou felt.

For once, Bakura's entire attention was captured through what he was seeing through his Light's eyes. The boy had defended him, and now his fate was to be decided. He tensed as Shadi glared at the two boys.

"Do you understand the consequences of your actions? The selfishness you two are exhibiting? The Darkness is sure to rise up once again in another millennia and the world will be unable to defend itself if you refuse to return the Items."

Yugi appeared to be having second thoughts about his resolve until Ryou grabbed his hand.

"Well, our life spans aren't nearly as long, so I'm sure once they're over you'll have no trouble finding the items and returning them yourself." Ryou said bravely.

"Are you sure that's a good idea, Ryou? People are going to think you're crazy and put you into a mental hospital if you run around saying it was the crazy psychopath in your head that's causing mayhem." Anzu said.

Ryou frowned at Anzu's words. "So be it."

"Wait, how do we know it's really Ryou who's talking to us right now? It could be his Spirit trying to get out of being put back." Jou said accusingly.

For some reason this statement irked Bakura and he grabbed control of his Light's body.

"It isn't me you fool! I'm just as surprised about this turn of events as you are!"

"Well, well, well. So the Spirit reveals himself." Shadi said triumphantly.

"He's not the only one." A deep voice next to Bakura said.

Bakura turned and saw that the Pharaoh had emerged as well. Bloody Pharaoh.

"Good, now that you both are here, it will make bringing you back all the more easier."

"What are you going to do?" the Pharaoh asked fearfully.

"You see my Key not only gives me access to a person's mind, but also acts as the keeper of the Spirit world. The world where you two belong." Shadi removed the Key from his neck and walked over to the alter.

There, above the slots for the rest of the Items, was a small keyhole that had not been noticeable before.

"I am giving you one last chance to return peacefully before I insert this Key and painfully force you out of those bodies." Shadi threatened.

The Pharaoh simply smirked. "There's no way you can break our bond, Shadi. It is too strong for anything you may throw at us."

"You keep thinking that Pharaoh." Bakura said as he watched Shadi insert the Key and turn.

Suddenly, all he knew was pain. Blinded by it, Bakura fell to his knees as he felt the physical pain begin to turn spiritual. He knew he was being torn from his Hikari's body.

But then, he felt something anchor him down. A light against the screaming darkness. Opening his eyes, he saw Ryou holding on to him, looking as if he were about to pass out from the pain.

/Don't let go, my Yami!/

That was all Bakura needed to fight back. Grabbing on to his Light, Bakura fought as the pain doubled and tried to get between them, but he refused to let go.

He wanted to live. He wanted to experience the things he had been cheated out of his last life. A childhood, happiness, love…

He was suddenly aware of Ryou, who was clinging tightly to his chest. The poor boy was going through the same thing, and Bakura knew his Hikari wouldn't make it if this went on. With the last bit of his strength, Bakura tightened his hold around Ryou's body and attempted to take away the boy's pain and make it his own.

The torture reached an all time high as the pain seemed to rip through every cell of his being. It felt as if his very soul was being torn apart. No amount of torture he had ever gone through could have prepared him for this. With that, Bakura opened his mouth and screamed as darkness washed over him.

When Bakura awoke, he found himself surrounded by beeping machines connected to tubes in his arms.

Bringing his hand to his head, he vaguely wondered why he still had control of Ryou's body. Suddenly Bakura shot up.

//RYOU!//

Bakura frantically called out for his Hikari and felt for his presence. He began to panic when he could not feel his Light's spiritual energy inside of him. He ripped the tubes out of his arms and throat as he scrambled to get up.

"You're awake!"

Bakura froze. There standing before him at the door was Ryou. Blinking, Bakura looked at his own body.

"What…what happened?"

"The process backfired and instead of taking you and the Pharaoh away, it sort of gave you your own body." Ryou explained as he approached the bed.

Bakura continued to stare at his own hands and body.

"Apparently, you two received the brunt of the blow and came out of it a lot worse than me and Yugi. You've been comatose for weeks. I was so frightened when I felt you taking away my pain…" Ryou trailed off and looked down at the floor.

"Why?" Bakura simply asked.

"Why what?"

"Why did you fight for me?"

Ryou smiled and shrugged. "Because you're my Yami. You're a part of me whether you like it or not, and to give you up and live on with only half a soul…well…it would be worse than death."

Bakura snorted as he remembered Ryou's words. The pain he had gone through was worse than death, and it would be worth it if the Pharaoh would mind his own damn business!

Going back to reminiscing, Bakura remembered the first time he had looked into a mirror. He was nearly an identical image to Ryou, but with small traces of his old self.

There was a light scar on his cheek, but it was barely noticeable due to the fact that he was so pale. He had a slightly larger build with sharper features, and was taller by several inches.

He was slightly disappointed that he didn't get his old body back, but this one would have to do.

Luckily, their slight difference in looks was enough for most people to tell them apart.

"Hey, Ryou! Who's your friend?"

"He's…erm…a distant relative of mine." Ryou answered nervously.

"Really? How distant?"

The blasted teacher sure was a nosy one.

"He's my…cousin?"

"Cousin? That's not all that distant."

"Yes, well…the ties in my family aren't all that strong really…"

"Well, nice to meet you cousin Bakura. Do you have a name?"

"Just call me Bakura, woman." Bakura said roughly as he glared at the teacher.

Yugi and the Pharaoh had obviously worked it out the night before, because when they came into the classroom they spit out a story about being brothers without hesitation.

Although, since he couldn't have people going around calling him `Pharaoh' (the idiot still didn't remember what his real name was) he stuck with Yami which made all the girls giggle.

The bell interrupted Bakura from his thoughts as he scowled at the blasted clock. Lunch was finally over.

"You're early Tomb Robber. What have you been up to this time?"

Bakura growled. "Not that it's any of your business, Pharaoh, but I was simply wandering about the halls minding my own business, when the Principal saw me and sent me to class early for looking suspicious."

That was only partially true. He had actually been looking for Ryou, curious as to why he had been leaving lunch early for the past couple weeks. But the Pharaoh didn't need to know that.

"And you actually listened?" Yami asked incredulously.

Bakura simply shrugged. "What can I say? I expect this lesson to be an interesting one and found myself not wanting to miss any of it."

Yami's eyes narrowed, but he took his seat. As much as he hated Bakura, he hated this teacher even more and decided to see just what exactly Bakura had done before he went about pointing fingers.

Ryou burst in just as the second bell rang and quickly took his seat, avoiding eye contact with anyone.

Bakura frowned. One of the reasons he had listened to the Principal and came to class was because when Ryou had left early, he told everyone he needed to get to class to finish up some last minute homework.

That and Bakura needed help with the original prank he wanted to pull. Since no help was available, he had been forced to think of something else.

Testing the mind link, Bakura's frowned deepened. Ryou still had it closed off. He seemed to be doing that a lot lately, and it annoyed the Spirit to no end.

Bakura tried again, only this time he pushed slightly at the barriers that his Hikari had erected, letting him know he wanted in.

Ryou jumped in his chair and lowered his defenses.

/Did you need something, Bakura?/

//You're late.//

Ryou visibly blushed.

/Yes, well I had something to do./

Not buying that excuse for a second, Bakura tried to scan Ryou's mind, but his shields were already back up.

Growling softly, Bakura knew something was up, and he was determined to find out what. But for now…

He returned his attention to the front of the class where the teacher seemed to be having trouble unsticking herself from her seat.
