Battle Stage 21: Separate Journey's! Insect Kingdom

 

Yuugi stood over the dead body of the Underground Duellist Ari. He turned to Serenity and frowned, “I'm sorry Serenity, we can't leave yet.” Serenity cocked her head as Yuugi entered the bushes, emerging moments later walking to his pack fishing out his torn and now unusable sleeping bag laying it beside Ari. Before rolling him into it Yuugi removed the black duel disk from his arm. Pulling the deck from the slot he placed it in a pocket of Ari's pants and rolled him into the bag zipping it up around him.

 

Standing he drew some cards from his deck, “Silent Magician LV8 (Light/Spellcaster/Effect/8 ATK/3500 DEF/1000) carve a hole into the ground!” Silent Magician extended its staff to blast a hole in the ground, Yuugi let the dust settle then rolled Ari's body into the makeshift grave. Before returning the card to his deck Yuugi ordered Silent Magician to fill the hole with dirt. Yuugi stood over the grave holding the black duel disk in his arms.

 

“Are you ok Yuugi?” Serenity asked quietly, Yuugi nodded and took her hand leading them down the path.

 

The road wound through the forest, Yuugi using the Duel Monsters Tracker to avoid any groups of Duel Monsters larger than two. It helped but they had a couple of close calls, they were forced to hide from a family of Winged Dragon Guardian of the Fortresses (Wind/Dragon/4 ATK/1400 DEF/1100) as the sun began to set. As the sun dipped below the horizon Yuugi's quick thinking saved Serenity from walking into a nest of Great Moth's (Earth/Insect/Effect/8 ATK/2600 DEF/2500) although the effect of this caused them to be chased by a swarm of Killer Needles (Wind/Insect/4 ATK/1200 DEF/1000) until Yuugi summoned Dark Magician (Dark/Spellcaster/7 ATK/2500 DEF/2100) to dispose of them.

 

Serenity and Yuugi did not reach the edge of the forest until after nightfall, approaching the cliff that boarded the forest they peered down into the city. Khepri was a city of mud brick buildings and sand surrounded by high walls and Egyptian religious paraphernalia.

 

Unlike some other cities he'd been to Yuugi had no trouble identifying the gym, to the northern centre of the city at the end of the main boulevard lined with Obelisks and flaming torches was a twenty story high Pyramid. The mud brick used in its construction covered by white marble, a large Obsidian Scarab beetle carved into the marble, the symbol of the god the city was named after. At the tip of the Pyramid was a glass point that shot light into the night's sky, softly illuminating the surrounding streets.

 

Yuugi smirked and whispered, “Yami always knows how to show off.”

 

“What was that Yuugi?”

 

“Nothing, we should set up camp, we'll never get into the Duellist Centre at this hour, they lock up at ten.” Yuugi stated turning away from the cliff in search of a secluded area to sleep. Finding the latest in a series of small alcove of trees, Yuugi and Serenity settled in for the night.

 

However as Yuugi began to get his bedding together he realized, his bedding was now six feet under covering a dead man. “Well, that's a warm night's sleep shot to hell.” He muttered sitting against a tree trying to get comfortable, he could feel the trunk swaying slightly against his back. Yuugi growled softly shifting his weight around when a small voice called out, Yuugi's gaze drifted over to Serenity who was lying in her large sleeping bag holding it open, “There's plenty of room for both of us in here.”

 

Yuugi blushed, “I don't know…” He said looking away, “Come on Yuugi, I don't want you freezing and uncomfortable all night.” Yuugi shook his head, “What would Jyoonouchi say?”

 

Serenity blinked, “Who cares.” She declared loudly dropping the bag turning away from him, Yuugi sighed and went over to the bag slipping inside. Serenity smiled turning over to rest against him. “This is much better isn't it?”

 

Yuugi nodded, “Much better, thanks Serenity.”

 

“You're welcome.” She replied in a sultry whisper slipping over to mount him, “And I know how you can repay me.” She smirked, “How?” Yuugi stuttered his face completely crimson. Serenity leaned in laying a heated open mouthed kiss down on Yuugi moving over to daintily lick his earlobe. “I want you so bad Yuugi, take me, please, take me!” She cried, Serenity could feel Yuugi stiffening pressing into her abdomen. Yuugi's struggle against his hormones was over in seconds, his hormones won.

 

Sometime later Yuugi collapsed with Serenity pressing against him, “Serenity, I can't go anymore… I need some sleep…”

 

Serenity pouted, “Ok…” She grinned, “But tonight, I'm your blanket.”

 

Yuugi laughed and relaxed as the naked Serenity settled on top of him for the night. He knew it would hurt Anzu to know he'd been with Serenity, but then, she'd hurt him first.

 

As the sun rose the next day Yuugi awoke and slipped out from under Serenity and went to find a shower. Returning a little later he found Serenity sitting on the sleeping bag, her legs tucked under her. “I found the shower just down the path.” Serenity got to her knees and nodded, “Ok, I'll go.” She replied grabbing her clothes, before she could leave Yuugi grabbed her arm gently, “You don't regret what happened last night, right?”

 

Serenity grabbed the back of his neck kissing him deeply plunging her tongue down his throat before coming up for air, “Any other questions?”

 

“No, nope, that, ah, about covers it…” Yuugi replied blushing, Serenity giggled sweetly scampering off to the showers while Yuugi dressed and packed up the camp.

 

After Serenity returned from her shower the two descended into the city, the sun was now ascending and the markets had opened along the main boulevard people milling around. However Yuugi wasn't interested in the market, all he wanted was to duel. Climbing the steps to the glass sliding doors Yuugi entered approaching a short stout receptionist who turned to Yuugi from her work, “Duellists can go straight through, but guests must watch from the observation booth.”

 

Serenity gave Yuugi a good luck kiss and left him at the entrance to the arena. Yuugi squared his shoulders and walked in, “Yami, it's…” Yuugi was stopped dead in his sentence entering the arena, or what he thought was the arena. To him it looked more like a glass house full of trees and shrubs, and a large number of varied insect species, Yuugi's eyes narrowed, “Insector Haga! Get out here parasite!” Yuugi yelled, to which he heard laughter, “I see my little trap worked in luring you here Yuugi, naturally you'd see an Egyptian city and think of your dear friend the Pharaoh. But you didn't think did you Yuugi that the god would be represented by a Scarab beetle. Now you're caught in my web and you'll die by my hands as payment for the humiliation you made me suffer!”

 

“Where have I heard that before…”

 

Insector Haga Life Points: 8000

Yuugi Mutou Life Points: 8000

“I draw;

 

1. Insect Knight (Earth/Insect/4 ATK/1900 DEF/1500) attack mode;

 

2. Horn of the Unicorn (Equip/Spell) increases Insect Knight's attack and defence seven hundred points (ATK/2600 DEF/2200);

 

3. I play two cards face down.”

 

::Yuugi::

 

“I draw;

 

1. I'll summon Skilled White Magician (Light/Spellcaster/Effect/4 ATK/1700 DEF/1900) in defence mode;

 

2. I'll add Horn of Light (Equip/Spell) to increase Skilled White Magician's defence eight hundred points (DEF/2700);

 

3. And a card face down.”

 

::Haga::

 

“I draw;

 

1. Tribute to the Doomed (Spell) sends a card from my hand to the graveyard to destroy your Skilled White Magician;

 

2. Insect Knight ATTACK!”

 

Insect Knight's attack inflicted 2600 points of direct damage to the opponent.

 

Insector Haga LP: 8000

Yuugi Mutou LP: 5400

 

::Yuugi::

 

“I draw;

 

1. I'll play Obnoxious Celtic Guard (Earth/Warrior/Effect/4 ATK/1400 DEF/1200) in defence mode;

 

2. That's it.”

 

::Haga::

 

“I draw;

 

1. Neo Bug (Earth/Insect/4 ATK/1800 DEF/1700) in attack mode;

 

2. I attack with Neo Bug;

 

3. And again with Insect Knight!”

 

“I activate Magic Cylinder (Trap) to reverse Neo Bug's attack back onto you!”

 

Insect Knight attacked Obnoxious Celtic Guard.

Yuugi Mutou LP: 5400

 

Yuugi glanced up to the observation booth and smiled, Serenity smiled back and waved, Yuugi waved back as Haga continued to scowl, “Make your move!”

 

::Yuugi::

 

“Alright, I draw;

 

1. I sacrifice Obnoxious Celtic Guard to summon Cybernetic Magician (Light/Spellcaster/Effect/6 ATK/2400 DEF/1000) in attack mode;

 

2. I discard a card to the graveyard to reduce the attack of Insect Knight to two thousand points until the end of the turn;

 

3. Monster Reborn (Spell) returns Dark Magician (Dark/Spellcaster/7 ATK/2500 DEF/2100) in attack mode;

 

4. Dark Magician attack;

 

5. This activates Magician's Circle (Trap) to summon Dark Magician Girl (Dark/Spellcaster/Effect/6 ATK/2000 DEF/1700) in attack mode.”

 

“I have no Spellcaster with less than two thousand attack points to summon so just go!”

 

6. “Cybernetic Magician attack;

 

7. Dark Magician Girl attack!”

 

Dark Magician's attack destroyed Insect Knight; Cybernetic Magician's attack destroyed Neo Bug; Dark Magician Girl's attack inflicted 2000 points of direct damage to the opponent.

“I draw;

 

1. I play Swords of Revealing Light (Spell) to stop you from attacking for three turns;

 

2. Now I can summon Petit Moth (Earth/Insect/1 ATK/300 DEF/200) in defence mode;

 

3. And equip it with Cocoon of Evolution (Earth/Insect/Effect/3 ATK/0 DEF/2000) now Petit Moth takes on Cocoon of Evolution's attack and defence;

 

4. I end my turn with a card face down.”

 

Yuugi groaned looking to the sky, “Greath Moth?! Come on… don't you have anything else up your sleave?”

 

Haga growled, “What are you talking about?”

 

“You've used this strategy before, twice actually, against me and Jyoonouchi, it's getting really old Haga you should do something new!”

 

::Yuugi:: (Swords of Revealing Light, Turn: 1)

 

“I draw;

 

1. I play Dark Magic Attack (Spell) this card can only be activated when a Dark Magician is on the field, this card destroys all Spell and Trap cards on your side of the field!”

 

“Not so fast Yuugi your card activates Judgement of Anubis (Counter/Trap) by discarding a card from my hand to the graveyard to negate the effect of Dark Magic Attack and destroys it. But that's not all, now Judgement of Anubis allows me to destroy one of your monsters, Dark Magician, and inflict battle damage equal to the original attack of the monster.”

“I draw;

 

1. I remove Neo Bug and Insect Knight from my graveyard to summon Devildozer (Earth/Insect/Effect/8 ATK/2800 DEF/2600) in attack mode;

 

2. Devildozer attack Cybernetic Magician!”

 

Devildozer's attack destroyed Cybernetic Magician.

 

“Devildozer's special ability sends a card from the top of your deck to the graveyard whenever it inflicts battle damage.”

 

“Huh.” Yuugi responded moving a card from the top of his deck to the graveyard.

1. I play Pot of Greed (Spell) to draw two cards from my deck;

2. Devildozer attack Dark Magician Girl (ATK/2300)!”

 

Devildozer's attack destroyed Dark Magician Girl.

“Heh, heh, my Moth may not get to feast after all, I draw;

 

1. Devildozer ATTACK!”

 

Devildozer's attack destroyed Queen's Knight.

 

::Yuugi::

 

“I draw;

 

1. I play two cards face down;

 

2. And summon King's Knight (Light/Warrior/Effect/4 ATK/1600 DEF/1400) in defence mode;

 

3. I end my turn.”

 

::Haga:: (Cocoon of Evolution, Turn: 4)

 

“I draw;

 

1. I send Petit Moth equipped with Cocoon of Evolution to the graveyard to special summon Great Moth (Earth/Insect/Effect/8 ATK/2600 DEF/2500) in attack mode;

 

2. Devildozer attack King's Knight;

 

3. Great Moth ATTACK!”

 

“Not yet, Nutrient Z (Trap) increases my life points four thousand (LP: 6000) I guess you're out of luck Haga.”

 

Haga growled, “Next turn…”

 

Devildozer's attack destroyed King's Knight; Great Moth's attack inflicted 2600 points of direct damage to the opponent.

 

Yuugi Mutou LP: 3400

Insector Haga LP: 3100

 

“Give up Yuugi, you wouldn't want your precious monsters decimated by my darling insects would you?”

 

::Yuugi::

 

Yuugi didn't answer, instead, “I draw;

 

1. This isn't over yet, I play Monster Reincarnation (Spell) I send one card from my hand to the graveyard to return a monster from the graveyard to my hand;

 

2. I also play Emblem of Dragon Destroyer (Spell) to bring Buster Blader into my hand;

 

3. Polymerization (Spell);

 

4. To fuse Dark Magician (Dark/Spellcaster/7 ATK/2500 DEF/2100);

 

5. And Buster Blader (Earth/Warrior/Effect/7 ATK/2600 DEF/2300) from my hand;

 

6. To summon Dark Paladin (Dark/Spellcaster/Effect/Fusion/8 ATK/2900 DEF/2400) in attack mode;

 

7. Demotion (Equip/Spell) downgrades Dark Paladin's level two stars (LV: 6);

 

8. Now I can add Fusion Weapon (Equip/Spell) to increase Dark Paladin's attack fifteen hundred points (ATK/4400);

 

9. Finally I activate Double Attack (Spell) I discard Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight (Dark/Warrior/Effect/7 ATK/2300 DEF/2100) to the graveyard to allow Dark Paladin to attack twice this turn;

 

10. Dark Paladin attack;

 

11. Dark Paladin attack again!”

 

Dark Paladin's attacks destroyed Devildozer and Great Moth.

 

Yuugi Mutou LP: 3400

Insector Haga LP: 0

 

Tears welled in Haga's eyes watching his favourite monsters being wiped out by Yuugi's Dark Paladin. He clenched his fists jamming one into his pocket, “It doesn't matter who won the battle Yuugi…” He began taking his hand from his pocket, “Because I'm still going to win the war!”

 

Haga lunged at Yuugi syringe in hand, “Feel the burn of my Trap Door Spider Venom!” He screamed as they collided, Serenity yelled Yuugi's name pressing herself against the glass.

 

Haga was grinning until he felt Yuugi's knee in his stomach. Haga fell to his knees as Yuugi peeled away the venom syringe wrapped in his fingers. Haga threw a fist at Yuugi, which he caught in his left hand throwing a right that connected with Haga's jaw sending the teen to the ground, Haga gazed up in fear, “You never fought back before…” He whispered.

 

Yuugi looked from the syringe to Haga and scowled, “I'm not the same man I was…” He responded feeling Serenity approach. He snatched the Nest Badge from Haga and left the gym.

 

Serenity stopped short of Yuugi who was staring down at the syringe, “What's wrong?”

 

Yuugi dropped the syringe to the ground crushing it under his heel, “Nothing's the same anymore…”
