Yuri: Hello my readers. I'm sorry that I didn't update yesterday but I feel like, pardon my language, a shitball. I am extremely sick and pretty cranky. But of course I always deliver to my fantastic readers so today I will be updating both `Find Me' and `Love Forever' and be making them really long so I hope you enjoy!
…It Must Be Love…
Jou turned off the stove and poured the food out onto a decorative plate. He then took out a few bottles from the cabinets above his head and began to sprinkle different seasonings onto the food. By now, Jou had learned everything he had to know about being a housekeeper. He had learned how to use a vacuum, perfected the use of the stove, and figured out how to use a microwave. These were all things that they did not have under the sea. Jou was actually very excited about learning all these new things and he knew that Yugi wanted more than anything to stay here but…Jou didn't know if he could. He missed his old life very much and it saddened him on a daily basis that he was almost never out of the house because he had so many things to take care of. He also missed Ryou and Malik sincerely. The four of them were born and raised together and had never been apart for more than a day or two. Jou's face expression became a little bit happier when he took out another bottle from the cabinet and poured it on the food. Large eyes peered over the countertop as Yugi glanced at Jou's hand movements.
“Jou, what are you doing?” Yugi asked.
Jou grinned. “Putting laxatives in Kaiba's food” he said simply.
Yugi shook his head gently. “Jou, I don't think that is such a good idea. What if he gets mad and kicks us out?”
Jou shrugged. “Then I'll kick his ass.”
Yugi didn't look so happy with Jou's response. “Don't worry, Yuge. He won't kick us out. Yami wouldn't let him,” Jou continued.
Yugi smiled at the taller boy's name. He had seen Yami for a couple of hours now and he really missed him. Jou smiled as he watched Yugi get lost in his thoughts and immediately brought Yugi back to reality with his voice.
“You really care about him, huh?” Jou asked quietly.
Yugi blushed slightly at the question. “Well of course I do” Yugi said innocently “He's a very good friend to me, and you.”
Jou nodded. “Yes he has. But I feel like you and him have a very strong connection.”
Yugi's blush intensified as he just shook his head again and walked towards the door. “No Jou, we're just friends. He just wants me to get accustomed to this new life. That's why he's taking care of me so much.”
Jou sighed. “About that Yugi…about this new life I mean…I was just thinking that maybe—“
“Hello you two” came a very familiar friendly voice.
Yugi's eyes lit up immediately as he turned around and ran up to Yami and embraced him.
“Yami, where have you been? I've missed you” Yugi said.
Yami smiled warmly and returned Yugi's hug. “I'm sorry my hikari, I had to take care of some things” he said.
Yugi nodded and opened his mouth to say something when he all of the sudden he felt the floor from underneath him vanish and before he knew it his eyes came face to face with insane brown eyes.
“Who the hell are you?” Bakura asked.
“Bakura put him down!” Yami screamed.
“Keep your dam pants on!” Bakura snapped back as he returned his gaze to the small frightened child that he held by the back of the shirt in midair.
“What did you do Yami, clone yourself?” Marik asked with a laugh.
“No” Bakura said as he looked at Yugi closely. He then looked up at Jou who was glaring intensely at Bakura. Bakura smiled “O I see. You two are the other mermaids we saw that day. How'd you manage to pull this off?” Bakura said as he motioned towards Yugi's small legs.
Yami grabbed Bakura's wrist tightly. “Let him go” he said dangerously. Bakura just rolled his eyes as he let Yugi fall to the ground as he walked over to where Jou stood and grabbed an apple.
“So how did you guys change?” Marik asked curiously.
Yami, who had Yugi holding on to him for dear life, remembered the promise that he had made to both Yugi and Jou the first night that they transformed. He had promised them that he wouldn't let anyone know their secret and that was a promise that he intended to keep.
“No, you two retards misunderstand. Yugi and Jou were one of the two boys we saw that day but they weren't mermaids. They were just four kids playing in the water and we just scared them off,” Yami explained. That was the same lie that he had told Seto, who recognized both Yugi and Jou instantly.
Bakura raised an eyebrow at this. “O really?” he said “Then how come Marik and I ran into their little two friends this morning?”
“You saw Ryou and Malik?” Yugi jumped in unexpectedly.
“Yes we did” Marik said. “Now tell me this small clone. If you and your friend here are really just two human kids then what were you doing hanging around two mermaids?”
Yugi couldn't think of a quick enough answer so then Jou covered for him.
“That's none of ya business” Jou said.
“Ok then” Bakura said as he took a bite out of the apple that he had been tossing up in the air for a while now. “I guess we'll just have to go back out into the water and reel those two mermaids in and ask them.”
“No wait!” Yugi yelled.
Bakura and Marik smiled.
“Yes?” Marik asked.
Yugi turned to Yami and motioned for him to tell Marik and Bakura the long story of everything that happened.
“Are you sure Yugi?” Yami asked.
Yugi turned towards Jou who sighed but nodded nonetheless. He then looked back at Yami and nodded. Yami took Yugi by the hand and sat down at a medium sized table. He then turned to Jou and the two insane ones and waved for all of them to sit down, which they all did. Bakura and Marik gave Yami their undivided attention as he began to tell them about everything that had occurred in the past week that they were out on their fishing trip. When Yami finished, silence filled the room. Marik was the first to speak after about a few minutes.
“Wow, what a crappy job they did” he said.
Everybody blinked at him.
“What?” Bakura asked.
Marik continued. “O well before my family back hundreds of years ago were simple tomb keepers in Egypt. And my great great grandfather use to tell my father these stories about the old days. My father once told me a story when I was little, about a young Pharaoh who committed suicide and in his goodbye note, he said that he couldn't keep the world safe by himself anymore. He said that he had found six magical golden items that had extraordinary power and that if they got into the wrong hands, the world would be easily destroyed. He said that there were people that were messing with his mind and watching him. He obviously suffered from paranoia and that's why he killed himself. But nevertheless, he told his guards, in his letter, where the items where located and ordered that they be destroyed immediately. The items were then put in a chest and put on a boat to be destroyed out in the sea, and they were never seen again. So everyone assumed that the guards who had taken the chest had done their job.” Marik reached out to Yugi's neck and held up the gold pyramid that hung from the small boys neck. “But apparently the bastards got lazy and just threw it in the ocean.”
Silence filled the room once again as everyone was digesting what they just heard. However, then Jou got up and walked over to where the plate of food was, threw it in the microwave, and heated it up for a few seconds before taking it out and walking towards the door.
“I have to go give this to Kaiba before he has a little fit. I'll be back soon,” Jou said.
Yami nodded and smiled. “Laxatives, Jou?”
“Yup” Jou said before walking out.
Yami shook his head. Seto and Jou's ongoing war was just too funny to watch. Yesterday Seto `accidentally' dropped a bottle of red wine on the write rug in the hallway and Jou spent nearly all day trying to scrub the stain out. Thinking about this brought a smile to Yami's face but he quickly took it off as he returned his attention to the three people sitting in front of him.
“Hey” Bakura said as directed what he was about to say to Yugi “If you and Jou became humans, how come Malik and Ryou didn't?”
Although Yugi didn't like Bakura or Marik very much, it was a simple question and they had already told them everything else.
“Well see, someone had to cover for us just in case anyone was wondering why we were missing. And also Malik doesn't like humans very much so I doubt he would use his only wish to become a human” Yugi said.
“So wait” Marik said “All four of you have an item?”
Yugi nodded.
“Hmm” Marik thought aloud “I wonder where the remaining two went.”
“Maybe they fell—“ Bakura began but was cut off by a loud annoying shriek.
“Hi guys!”
Everyone looked towards the girl who had just walked in. She was a relatively tall girl with cool blue eyes and short brown hair that reached her shoulders. She had a pale complexion but had a bright smile on her face.
“O Ra! What is she doing here!?” Bakura groaned.
Yami looked at Bakura and gave him a glare that said `leave now'. Bakura eagerly complied.
“Let's go Marik. We have to go find our friends” Bakura said.
Marik grinned and they both exited the kitchen, which made Yugi very thankful. Yami stood up along with Yugi who was still holding the taller boy's hand.
“I'm sorry Anzu for Bakura's rudeness” Yami said. “Have you finished settling down in your room?”
Anzu, who was watching the small boy next to Yami intensely, returned her gaze to Yami and smiled.
“Yes Yami. I look forward to spending the next week with you. We have a lot of catching up to do” Anzu said.
Yugi felt the hand around his tighten and looked up to Yami.
“Yes I can't wait” Yami said. He looked down at Yugi and back up at Anzu. “O yes before I forget, Anzu this is Yugi. He's a new friend that has been living here for about the past two weeks.”
Anzu looked down at the small boy again and feigned a smile. “Nice to meet you Yugi” she said.
“You too” Yugi said.
Yami, feeling Yugi's uneasiness, tightened his grip on Yugi's hand a little more in reassurance.
“Well where is your room?” Anzu asked politely “Maybe I could come see you and we could chat sometime to get to know each other better.”
Yugi didn't like the idea of him and Anzu getting to know each other better but answered anyways.
“My room is the red one in the east wing but usually I'm in Yami's room” Yugi said.
Anzu's eyes widened slightly at this.
“Do you sleep in Yami's room too?” Anzu asked.
Yugi shook his head but then added “O only once when I had a bad dream.”
Anzu's eyes widened a little more and she was about to say something when Yami jumped in.
“I'm sorry Anzu but I need to get Yugi settled down. I'll see you later ok?” he said.
Anzu just nodded as he and Yugi left the room and left Anzu staring after them coldly.
When Yami and Yugi got to Yami's room and closed the door, Yugi turned towards the other one.
“Who is she?” Yugi asked.
Yami sighed and grabbed Yugi under the arms and sat him on the edge of the bed so that his legs were hanging off.
“Anzu is the daughter of Seto's most important and richest client. As long as me and Seto keep her happy then it's guaranteed that her father will keep doing business with us and apparently spending time with me is what makes her happy” Yami aid.
Yugi felt a sting of jealously but quickly ignored it. It wasn't like Yami was his so he had no reason to be jealous.
“O” was all Yugi said.
“I'm sorry Yugi” Yami sighed “but for the next week I have to act like I want to spend time with her.”
Yugi nodded and Yami saw the sad expression on his face, which made Yami's heart break.
“Don't' worry my hikari” he said “because even though I have to pretend that I want to spend time with her, I'll never care about her, or anyone else for that matter, the same way that I care about you.”
Yugi smiled brightly at Yami's comment as Yami continued to search for some dinner clothes for Yugi. He finally found a small white silk shirt with white pants and laid it out on the bed.
“Change little one. We have to go to dinner soon” Yami said. “I'll be right out here. Just call me when you're done.”
Yugi nodded and said “Ok Yami.”
Yami smiled and before walking out kneeled down in front of Yugi and said, “You know Yugi, before you I thought that all life had to offer was what I had. A dull, boring, lonely life. But then I met you and you changed all of that and now I see that what life has to offer me…is you. And I could never ask for anything more.” And with that, Yami kissed Yugi on the cheek and left.
Yugi was blushing insanely the whole time that the boy in front of him was talking but when Yami kissed him, everything stopped. He watched as Yami left the room and felt his cheek with his hand as memories from their first accidental kiss came back into his mind. His heart skipped a beat as he finally realized what the feeling was that he had been experiencing since that first night about two weeks ago. `O my god' Yugi thought to himself `I love him.'
…TBC…
Yuri: Ok I know that in the show, there are actually, I think, seven millennium items but for the purpose of my fic, there are only five. So anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Remember also look for the new chapter for `Love Forever' tonight. And in case you guys were wondering, I killed Yugi and Yami off for this chapter because I feel like a shitball so much that I wanted to kill someone. Please send in those reviews or else I might have to kill you guys too. Till next time!
