Mirage: Well this is the next chapter. Again I welcome any comments you might have. I would really like to hear you option on my story so far, or perhaps any ideas you might have. This chapter was basically to introduce all the characters, but bare with me, things will begin to pick up. Again thanks for reading. ^^

Warnings: Yaoi relationships meaning M/M relationships. If you find this offensive or wrong please don't read. There will be lemons in later chapters. The pairings are yami/hikari as well as S/J. There may also be one OC/OC pairing too.

~~~Chapter 1~~~

 

Domino City, Japan

3000 years later

 

“Yugi! Yugi! It's time to get up! I made some breakfast!”

The youth know as Yugi Muto groan into his pillow. Why? Oh why did school have to be so early?

“Yugi! Are you up?”

Pushing himself up, he blink his amethyst eyes open to get use to the incoming sunlight, throwing his blankets down off his warm body. Pushing away an annoying golden bang from tickling his face he stretched.

“Yugi!”

“I'm up grandpa! I'm up!” Yugi yelled to his elderly caretaker as he jumped out of bed and head to his desk, which was scattered with papers, books, and golden puzzle pieces. Picking up one that had an eye on it he looked at it with a smile. It was part of a puzzle that his grandfather had given him when he turned seven years old. A very rare puzzle that the elderly man had found in his travels to dig sites in Egypt. It was one of his most prized possessions and he was sure that he was close to figuring it out. A portion of it laid upon a stack of papers already finished. If his calculations are correct the puzzle should take the shape of a pyramid.

“YUGI!” A voice shouted through the house. The young man looked at his alarm clock. Yikes! He better get going!

“Coming grandpa!”

 

Yugi came down the stair, buttoning his white shirt that was under his school uniform, a royal blue outfit. Which he completed with a leather belt buckle around his slender neck.

“Yugi?” an elderly man's voice said.

“Yes grandpa?” the teen replied as he went into the kitchen. There was and elderly man standing in the kitchen, his hair was the same as wild spiky shape as his grandson's; aside from the fact where Yugi's had black and red spikes, and golden bangs, his was grey. He was where the pink apron, the one that Yugi begged his grandfather to get rid of but the old man simply refused, over his normal clothing of green overalls over a simple white shirt.

“Yugi. Don't forget that you have to help me stock up the shelves in the Game Shop today, after school.”

The teen rolled his eyes as he picked up a piece of toast from a plate that his grandfather had placed on the table.

“I know grandpa. Don't worry. You've only told me like fifty times in the past two days.”

“Well I don't want you to forget. And maybe you could bring some of your friends along as well. We could always use the help when stocking items.”

“Grandpa!” Yugi whined, “Quit trying to make my friends work!”

Sugoroku laughed. “Come on. You youngsters need to know the meaning of a good hard days work once in a while. Hey how about if you get the to help, I'll buy pizza for everyone.”

Yugi looked at his grandpa with amusement as he chew a bite of his toast. “Are you sure grandpa? You know how much Jounouchi eats. We might just end up broke.”

His grandpa laughed again. “Oh I'm sure he doesn't eat that much. Just look at the boy!”

Yugi smiled and shrugged. “Whatever you say grandpa. I'll tell them what you said. Free food should definatly bring Jounouchi and Honda running after school.”

“Good. Now you better be going before your late for school.”

Yugi swallowed the last of his toast and looked at the clock. “Right. See you later grandpa.” He said before he went and picked up his book bag and left with a fair well to his grandpa.

“Yug'! `ey Yugi!”

The tri-haired teen stopped and turned to see two of his friends coming, Honda Hiroto and Jounouchi Katsuya. Honda was the tallest in their group with dark brown hair, which was shaped as a point and dark brown eyes. Jounouchi was the next tallest with shaggy dirty blonde hair and caramel eyes. He was also the loudest one in their group. Both of the boys ran to his side and panted.

“Dang Yug'. Ya sure do walk fast.” Panted the blonde.

“Maybe I wouldn't walk so fast if you two actually decided to leave home earlier.” Yugi commented.

“Hey! It not my fault that Jounouchi here is a slowpoke.” Honda said as he grabbed his blonde friend in a headlock, which caused Jou to fight back and soon the too were wrestling each other as Yugi sighed. Just another beginning to a pretty typical day.

“Come on guys. Were going to be late.”

 

Once Yugi had slip his two friends up from their wrestling match they finally made it to school. Yugi, Jou, and Honda had their first class together with another friend of theirs, Mazaki Anzu. She was a sweet girl with short brown hair and blue eyes, and also a big fan of friendship. She was actually Yugi's first friend since preschool.

“Hey guys,” she greeted them around Yugi's desk.

“Hey Anzu,” Yugi said as the guys made room for her.

“So Yug',” Jounouchi began, “What did you say you want us to do.”

Jou was talking about what Yugi mentioned as soon as he broke them up of his grandpa's idea for them to come over to help with stocking up the shop. He again explained this to his friends and introduced the idea to Anzu.

“I'll understand if you guys don't want to-“

“Nonsense.” Jou interrupted him. “If there's free food involved I'm there! I'll just have to call my dad to tell him I won't be home right away.”

“Great! What about you two?” Yugi looked at Honda and Anzu.

“Of course we'll come! It's a great idea. We would love to help out.” Anzu said as Honda nodded in agreement.

“Alright. Thank guys. My grandpa would have had me running ragged otherwise.” Yugi smiled as the bell rang. Everyone said their “see you laters” and went to their seats.

 

It was in the middle of third period history class when the door opened noisily and in stepped the famous CEO of Kaiba Corp., Seto Kaiba. The brunette looked down at the class before he went to his seat. The teacher, Mrs. Romis, frown at the young CEO's entrance.

“If you can not be on time to class, Mr. Kaiba, I suggest you not to come at all.”

The tall CEO shot an annoyed look onto the teacher. “I had a very important meeting and I will be late to class if I must, Mrs. Romis.”

“I hope you do not make it a habit of yours Kaiba. Now to carry on to what I was saying…”

Yugi looked at the tall brunette as he got his textbook, which he did not open it, a bored look on his face. Though Yugi couldn't blame him since Mrs. Romis wasn't the most interesting teacher, and not counting the fact the Kaiba was a genius in a sense.

Yugi and his group had tried to make friends with the distant CEO, but they were always turned down with sharp remarks and looks of superiority. Though the group sometimes hung out with his little brother, Mokuba, the millionaire kept his distance. The only interaction they had with him was when he and Jou got into fights. Still they always kept the door to friendship open to the young business owner.

Their group was glad that once the end of school came and was anxious to get to the Game Shop and begin working. Anzu, Yugi, and Jou were waiting for Honda who had to talk with a teacher about a project he had done a few days before. As they were waiting no one other that Seto Kaiba stepped out to wait for his limo. The brunette and the blonde met eyes as Yugi and Anzu looked on with concern.

“So Yugi. You finally taking the stray home with you? You now that if you use food he'll never leave you.” The CEO said with a smirk. Jou was quick to respond.

“What was that, moneybags? I thought I told you to keep those damned dog comment to yourself.”

Kaiba gave a laugh. “Or what, mutt? Are you going to bite me? Do I have to get the newspaper?”

Jounouchi growled as Yugi and Anzu grabbed him to keep him from attacking the tall brunette, who only smirked in triumph. His limo pulled up just a second later and his driver came and opened the door for him.

“Yugi. I suggest you get a leash for that dog of yours. The poor pup might get kicked around a few times.” Kaiba said before entering the long black car and his driver closing the door before getting into the drivers seat. The limo drove away as Jou cursed Kaiba.

“Dat bastard. Thinks he's all that because he own a company. I show `im who is going to get his butt kicked and it won't be me! God! I can't stand dat guy!”

“Calm down Jounouchi. He's gone now. There nothing you can do.” Anzu said.

“She's right Jou. Calm down. Look here's Honda. Let's go to the Game shop.” Yugi offered.

Jou calmed down with an agitated sigh as Honda came up to the group to ask what had ruffled his best bud's feathers.

“Kaiba.” Anzu said. Then they left heading for Yugi's grandpa's shop.
