MR: (gives Bakura an orange Fanta) just keep it away from Yami and Yugi... I don't need a sugar-high Pharaoh running around here any more than I need you running around groping the other guys.... >.<

Y.Bakura: then why do you keep giving me sugar?

MR: ^.^;; because I like watching you do that! XD

Y.Bakura: O.o;;

Light and Shadows

Chapter 2

Yugi awoke, feeling strong arms wrapped protectively around his waist. He remembered the events of the previous night and smiled, but immediately thought again about smiling. He just had his first kiss... with another guy. How would the others react to that fact? How would they react to Yami? How would he tell them about Yami? Hell, how was he going to tell Grandpa? All these thoughts about explaining Yami to others, and Yugi didn't even realize when Yami woke up.

Yami hugged his lighter half tightly, giving a rare smile.Yugi looked at his Yami, giving him a disenhearted smile back. //Yugi, what's wrong? You look so sad...//

"I just don't know how to explain things to my friends, or to my grandpa..." Yugi said, looking away from Yami. Yami, in turn, hugged Yugi more tightly. "Others don't have to know. I am a part of you, I will never leave you, and I will always be there to protect you. Others don't need to know what you do all the time. You have a right to privacy, and myself being part of you, I am included in that right to privacy." Yami reasoned with Yugi.

"I... guess you're right... It's just that... the friends I have now are the only friends I've ever had.... And I've only had them for the past couple of years... Before that, I was the kid bullies liked to pick on. I was always getting beaten up, just because I was short and wouldn't fight back..." Yugi said, remembering what it was like before he had friends.

Yami hugged his hikari, kissing him softly on the cheek. "I'm lucky it's Saturday... I slept in really late..." Yugi said as he laid his head on Yami's chest. He couldn't shake off the feeling of happiness and protection he felt while he was around Yami.

A seemingly young man with pointy ears, slitted yellow eyes, and long blonde hair literally knocked down the door to Karios's one-room house. "Karios! When are you ever going to come out of your anti-social hole?" the man asked.

"Furikaro, you are the most obstinate elf I have ever met... I am trying to determine several things that will alter our current state of being here in the Shadow Realm. If you would be so kind as to leave at the moment, I will go out later tonight." Karios said.

"Karios, you are unlike any other spellcaster in the entire village. You insist on locking yourself into your house to try and find out things through star charts, prophecies, and runes! If you stay locked up in this house one more day I am going to drag you out by your violet-colored hair!" the blonde elf said angrily.

Karios turned to face his elfin friend. "What I am trying to figure out concerns the Game King, the Dragon Master, and the Spellcaster's Prodigy. If you insist on me going outside, I am going to bring out my studies with me, because the sooner I find out the balance of power, the sooner I can work to stop the destruction of the Mortal Realm as we know it. You know fully well that if the Mortal Realm is destroyed, our shadowed existence ends as well."

Furikaro looked worried. "This is that serious?" he asked meekly. Karios simply nodded. "I will come out, but as I said, I am bringing my studies with me. I have already determined why the Game King is so attached to the boy who solved the puzzle he locked himself into. The Game King is now part of this boy, and as such feels an obligation to protect him. I am still trying to determine what will release the boy's powers...." Karios took another look at the star charts, and his eyes went wide. "Oh, no..."

Furikaro immediately knew that Karios had found out something very important. "What is it, Karios?" the mage's elfin friend asked worriedly. "I know what is going to happen to the boy named Yugi..." the violet-haired mage said sadly.

For some odd reason, Ryou Bakura had quickly made friends with an anti-social member of his class. His name was Seto Kaiba, head of KaibaCorp., and Duel Monsters Champion. After only a short while, Ryou had quickly found that Seto possessed a personality similar to his Yami's: sadistic, cold, and cruel. The only time ryou ever noticed a difference was when his younger brother was around. Unfortunately, Mokuba had gotten into a car accident four weeks earlier, and was still in the hospital recovering.

Even though the elder Kaiba had more than enough money to cover the hospital's bills, he quickly sued the driver of the car who ran into Mokuba. The man was perfectly sober, and admitted to trying to run Mokuba off the road. He agreed to pay the amount Seto was suing for, just to avoid an embarassing court battle that would end up with the same results anyway. Ryou saw how much Seto cared for his younger brother, and couldn't help but admire him for it.

However, when Mokuba wasn't around, Seto Kaiba was the cold, ruthless person that Ryou came to fear just as much as his yami. Bakura, as Ryou's yami was known, had a plan for Seto Kaiba, one he knew the Duel Monsters Champion couldn't refuse...

Seto Kaiba was busy trying to figure out what stocks to invest in, when he got a call. "One Ryou Bakura would like to speak with you, sir." He didn't have time for this, and yet... how could he shove away one of the only friends he had ever had? "Send him in..." Moments later, Bakura walked through the door. Seto realized that Ryou seemed to have multiple personalities, and recognized the Ryou Bakura that walked through the door was the one who wanted to be called Bakura. "Hello, Bakura... What brings you here? I would think you'd be doing something else right now..."

"I have a little proposition for you... You know the kid that goes to our school, Mutou Yugi?" Kaiba nodded in response. "It concerns him..." Bakura proceeded to tell Seto about his plans, and when he asked Seto if he would help, the head of KaibaCorp. smirked. "Of course I'll help... This is too good to pass up..."

MR: Now, what is this? Plotting? Prophecies? What's going to happen to poor Yugi?? wait and see! I'll put up a teaser chapter.... XD
