Chapter 2: You've Got A What?!

The next morning, Alana woke up extra early for reasons of her own. Tonya was up as well. "Hey Alana," she greeted sitting on the couch and switching on the television. "What's up? How come you're up so early? You usually wake up at 11 o'clock."

"I'm just checking out my website," she replied as she typed away at her computer. "I gotta start making some updates on it, ya know?" All of a sudden, she received an IM message.

User UltimateBlueEyes17 sends you an instant message. Do you wish to reply?

Alana clicked the `yes' button.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Hey, how r u?

She stared at the screen for a long time. Who could this be? No one she knew was on this early in the morning. She decided to respond anyway. DMG45: Um…who is this? Do I know you?

UltimateBlueEyes17: U could say that. Take a wild guess at who this is.

DMG45: How should I know? None of my friends are on this early in the morning.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Fine, I'll give u a clue. I have brown hair and blue eyes. Does that help?

DMG45: Brown hair and blue eyes…hmm…omg! You're not Seto, are you?

UltimateBlueEyes17: Bingo. You're very smart, Alana.

Alana blushed crimson. Now that she knew who it was, she didn't feel as nervous as she did before. DMG45: How did you get my screen name? I don't remember giving it to you.

UltimateBlueEyes17: I'm the CEO of KaibaCorp, love, how else did you expect me to find it?

DMG45: Seto, that kiss yesterday…was that for real? Or was it just impulse?

There was a long pause. UltimateBlueEyes17: Why do you ask? Did I offend u or something?

DMG45: No, it's just…I'm curious as to why you kissed me.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Can't a guy kiss a girl without getting in trouble for it?

DMG45: Yeah, sorry. I'm being rude, aren't I?

UltimateBlueEyes17: ::laughs:: No, ur not being rude at all, love. You deserve a straight answer from me. The truth is, is that…well…when I first met you, I started to get these weird feelings in my heart. And when I saw you last night looking so beautiful, I couldn't resist the urge to kiss you. But I want you to know that I meant what I said last night.

Alana stared at the screen. Seto really loved her? She felt a smile spread across her face. She suddenly felt that someone was watching her. She turned her head and sure enough, Tonya was leaning over her shoulder.

"Who are you talking to?" she asked.

"No one," Alana replied shortly.

"Yeah right. It's Kaiba, isn't it?"

"So what if it is? You gonna start teasing me?"

"No. It's your life. I can't rule it."

"Thank you."

UltimateBlueEyes17: U still there?

DMG45: Yeah, sorry. Tonya was bugging me.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Ah, okay then. So…um…do you still like me? Or have you lost all respect for me?

DMG45: Are you kidding? I LUV you Seto Kaiba!

UltimateBlueEyes17: ::gasps:: Really? You mean that?

DMG45: No, I'm lying to you. Of course I mean it, numskull!

UltimateBlueEyes17:

DMG45: I guess you're happy.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Yep. So what're you doing online at this hour? I thought you'd be sleeping in.

DMG45: I was checking on my website. I have to start updating it. I can mention that I met and talked to the great Seto Kaiba.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Is that site about me?

DMG45: ::blushes:: Yes. Want the link?

UltimateBlueEyes17: Sure.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Thanks. I'll go check it out now.

DMG45: Say something in the forum. Your fans will probably freak out.

UltimateBlueEyes17: Okay. Hey, do you want to meet somewhere later today?

DMG45: Like where?

UltimateBlueEyes17: I dunno. How about the park?

DMG45: Sounds good to me. I'll see you later then. Bye!

DMG45: Cya!

UltimateBlueEyes17: Bye!

User DMG45 signed off at 8:34a.m.

"So how was talking to your lover boy?" Sapphire teased when Alana entered the kitchen. Jade, Ebony, and Chantal were all grinning.

"You told them?!" Alana snapped at Tonya.

"Sorry, it kinda slipped," she muttered.

Alana clenched her fists. "Well you'll all be happy to know that I'm meeting Seto in the park today at 11," she said.

"That's great, `Lonnie," Ebony said, using her cousin's nickname. "Tell us how the date goes."

"Dream on, Eb," she replied using her nickname as well.

"I was gonna meet Yugi today at his grandpa's game shop," Tonya stated proudly. "I'm thinking of starting a Duel Monsters deck of my own."

"That's cool," Alana commented. "I hear Yugi's an excellent duelist. You can learn to play from him."

Tonya nodded. "I think I'll call him right now, just to make sure I know what time to leave." She went to the phone and dialed in the game shop's number.

"Hello, game shop," said Yugi's voice over the receiver.

"Hi, Yugi. It's me, Tonya."

"Oh, hi Tonya! What's up?"

"I just thought I'd call to confirm when a suitable time for me to come over is."

"Um…how about at 9? Is that okay with you?"

"Yeah, sure. Okay, I'll see you there."

"Bye!"

"Bye! See ya!" She hung up the phone. "Okay, I'll be leaving at 9 to go to the game shop."

"You know, I don't understand you girls," Sapphire scoffed. "You guys are getting worked up over some stupid boys. It's pathetic."

"Hey, that's a little harsh, Sapph," Jade said softly. "Boys aren't evil."

"Yes they are."

"You're just saying that because of what one guy did to you last year. Get over him, Sapphire. He wasn't the right guy, that's all."

Sapphire flushed a deep red. "Damn right he wasn't good," she added. "I was a fool to ever think someone could love me for just being myself. That stupid bastard doesn't realize what he gave up."

"That's absolutely right. You should start fresh."

"Wrong. I'm not committing to anyone. Love is for weak people, like you guys. You all think these new guys are hott, but trust me, eventually, they'll turn on you."

"Thank you for that cheerful announcement, Sapph," Alana said in a monotonous tone.

"You're welcome, Alana."

The others sweat dropped and rolled their eyes.

"That's right, Grandpa," Yugi was saying. "My new friend's coming in a few minutes so be prepared."

"Don't worry, Yugi," his grandfather replied. "So tell me a little about this new friend of yours. Is he nice?"

"Actually, it's a girl. Her name's Tonya and she says she wants to start a Duel Monsters deck of her own."

"That sounds wonderful. If she needs any help on how to play, she can always ask you."

"Yeah." All of a sudden, the door to the game shop opened. "Tonya!" Yugi cried going to greet her. "Tonya, this is my grandfather. Grandpa, this is Tonya Henderson."

"Nice to meet you, sir," she said with a big smile.

"Yugi tells me you wish to become a duelist," Grandpa replied. "If you want, I can show you some very good beginner cards."

"Really? Thank you, Mister Muto."

Yugi helped Tonya pick out the strongest and best cards they could find. "Do you think I'm ready to duel yet?" Tonya asked as she and Yugi walked down the street.

"Maybe. It depends how fast you can learn," he replied.

"Oh hey, I've been meaning to ask you something, Yugi. What's that thing around your neck?"

"What? This?" he said pointing to his Millenium Puzzle. She nodded. "Oh. Well my grandpa gave it to me after he came back from Egypt."

"It looks very interesting. Anyway, so where was Yami today? Is he sick?"

Yugi began to sweat. "No, he's just very tired. He needs his sleep, you know."

"Ah, I see. Well, what do you wanna do now?"

"Um…why don't we go to Duke's game shop? I'm sure he could find something for us to do."

"Sounds good to me. Let's go."

At 11 o'clock, Alana left the apartment and walked to the park. She sat down on a bench, hoping that she would see Seto. She sat patiently for a little while until two hands suddenly covered her eyes and she heard someone say, "Guess who."

Alana grinned and said, "Well, it certainly can't be my brother, so it's gotta be you, Seto."

Sure enough, when she turned around, Seto was right behind her. "How are you?" he asked as he sat down beside her.

"I'm okay," she replied. "How about you?"

"Being here with you makes me feel a whole lot better."

She giggled. "You're a sweet talker, Seto."

"I know. Do I get a kiss for the effort?"

"Hmm…I dunno."

"Please?"

"Well, when you put it like that…" Alana leaned closer and captured his mouth in a passionate kiss. Seto moaned and encircled his arms around her waist. Kissing in public wasn't exactly what they wanted to do, but it helped to burn away the lustful thoughts that Seto was thinking. He'd never want to hurt Alana. She was too precious to him. They broke away and smiled at each other. "Don't ever leave me, Seto," Alana whispered.

"I wouldn't dream of it, love," he replied holding her to his chest. He kissed her forehead gently and held her in his arms for the rest of the day.

"Hey Tonya," Yugi said suddenly. She turned to look at him with a big smile on her face. He blushed faintly.

"Yeah, Yugi?" she replied in her soft voice.

"I…was wondering what that thing is that's around your neck. It looks like a golden orb or something."

Tonya straightened herself and looked at him closely. "I'll tell you if you promise not to freak out, okay?" she replied in an undertone. He nodded and she bent down to whisper in his ear, "I have a Millenium item, just like you. It's called the Millenium Orb."

Yugi's eyes widened in shock. "You've got a WHAT?!" he cried loudly. Several heads turned towards them. Duke, eyebrows raised, came striding over to see what the problem was.

"You okay, Yugi?" he said uncertainly.

"Uh…yeah, just fine. Must have been…the three glasses of soda I had this morning," he replied, trying to contain himself. Tonya was biting her lip.

Duke cocked his head to the side. "You sure?"

"Yeah."

"All right then. Oh and Tonya?"

"Hmm? Yes, Duke?" she said taking her eyes off of Yugi.

"I…was hoping that you could give me your phone number."

"W-why?" she asked. She looked over at Yugi, who had abandoned his look of bewilderment to one of jealously. It was odd, for both Duke and Tonya. In the time that they had known Yugi, he had never had that look on his face before. It unnerved them.

"So that way I can get a hold of Ebony or something," Duke replied quickly as he eyed Yugi.

"Oh! Okay, then," she said and scribbled down the number on a piece of paper and gave it to him. Yugi's expression faded to one of relief. He was worried that his jealous side would get the better of him. Duke gladly thanked Tonya and walked away.

Tonya turned back to Yugi. He looked into her sky blue eyes in wonder. "Where…did you get your Millenium item?" he asked.

"From my mom," she replied. "My mother used to be an archeologist and found it in some Egyptian ruins. She brought it back with her and gave it to me when I was 10. I've had it ever since then."

"Does your item…erm…have a spirit within it?"

"I…I guess you could say that. Her name is Taikisha. What about yours?"

"Uh…it's Yami."

"Your older brother?"

"Well, he's not really my older brother. He's actually the spirit of the puzzle. But he can materialize whenever he wants to now. How about Taikisha?"

"No, she prefers to remain in the Orb."

"Oh." He looked downcast for a moment, but raised his head again. "Tonya?" he said softly.

"Yeah?"

"Would…you like to have dinner with me tonight?"

Her blue eyes widened in surprise. "Um…Sure. What time do you wanna meet, Yugi?"

"How about 6 o'clock? That should give us time to get home and get ready."

"Okay. I'll see you later then. Bye!"

"See ya tonight!" he replied as he waved. They walked their separate ways.
