Chapter 3
Mahaado froze, fingers already outstretched in the spell. With a shrug, he shifted the words in his mind, causing Yuugi to cry out in surprise as the Spell-Binding Circle snapped around his chest, pinning his arms to the side.
Isis shook her head. Well, it would be more preferable to call her Aishizu, and Shadi Shadah. Karim had returned, though he was different - his soul had been split into two creatures, both Celtic Guardian and Curse of Dragon, and now he was only half, but he seemed perfectly fine. Kisara had been an unexpected replacement for Akunadin, indeed, he had not even been sure she would take his side, but jealousy and rage could run a woman into the depths of hell. And Kisara was both.
Seto? He had not been brought back. It was folly, as if he would allow his treacherous cousin another chance at the Shadow throne…. They had both betrayed him. Malik and Marik were an acceptable substitute.

That only left the Puzzle. Shattered as it was, it would take much effort to find and hunt down the shattered pieces, but he didn't need the puzzle anymore. Still, it might be nice as a symbol…
The shadow creatures murmured around themselves, but a reward was a reward, and many of them took to the seas to find the lost golden shards.
Yuugi looked down at the magic with a sickening feeling.
“Y-You're… the Dark Magician…”
Mahaado smirked. “Perceptive, but tis too late.”
“Take him to my chambers.” Yami ordered. Lady of Faith and Dunames Dark Witch immediately snapped to attention and took Yuugi's arms, steering him down the hall. Malik (or Marik) laughed.
“So, no need of your precious hikari now, Pharaoh?”
“You two should know. I granted you a lesser variant of what I now hold.” Yami said. He stood, and the monsters parted like water before him. Mahaado followed silently, his expression unfathomable.
“Are you jealous?”
“I should not presume to be jealous, my Pharaoh.”
“I am not asking what you should think or not think. I am asking if you are…” Yami turned to face his favorite monster with a frown.
“Perhaps I am, my Pharaoh.”
“You should not be. I do not love him.”
“But Master… he is your light…”
“No, Mahaado.” Yami said, eyes darkening in anger. “He is not my light.”
“Pharaoh…”
“Mahaado, if you don't stop that vein of thought right now, I'm going to string you up on the Nightmare Cross and take you until I can prove it.”
Mahaado laughed. “Ah…”
“It's simply…”
“You want Seto to be jealous.”
“You already know the answer, so why are you acting …” Yami trailed off as he glared at his Consort. “You're trying to distract me.”
“It worked admirably, did it not, my Pharaoh?”
“Whatever for?”
“You've been busy lately. Don't deny it.” Mahaado frowned. “I simply wished to remind you that it is perfectly acceptable to relax. We can help you - we are here to help you my Pharaoh. The burden does not rest on you alone.”
Yami sighed. “I suppose you're right…but could you not have expressed it another way?”
“With your anger level, my Pharaoh?”
Yami laughed at this. “I understand. Well then, I did promise….”
Mahaado caught his look and laughed as they ran down the halls like children.
“Do you love me?”
“What sort of question is that, Aishizu?” Shadah colored brightly under her scrutiny.
“Because I understand if you love Karim…”
Shadah sighed. “Aishizu, I have loved you both, always. Did you think that in a lifetime it would change?”
“No.” Her eyes sparkled. “I just wanted to make sure.”
Karim laughed as he looked at the Scales in his hand. “Ah Aishizu… we are three pieces of a puzzle and we belong together.”
“I know… I've missed you two so…!”
The monsters did not laugh, as it would be improper to do so in Court, but as three of the Elected Priests beat a hasty retreat, snickers raced through the room like wildfire. Kisara sighed.
Malik looked at Marik.
“I always knew our sister would get laid one day. Never expected her to be in a threesome though.”
“Neither did I, my dear Yami.”
“Since Court seems to be adjourned for today, I suppose there is no reason for us to be standing around like this.”
“You are absolutely correct.”
The two of them exchanged identical looks of glee and vanished.
Kisara brushed her skirts off and rose also, heading down the winding labyrinth to the dungeon, where some of the more important human prisoners were being held.
She needed to talk to someone, and soon.
He was scheduled to be executed, after all.
Pharaoh Yami had no desire to keep him around. He could turn traitor at the drop of a pin. No, it was much safer when one's opponent was dead and buried.
Things were more secure.
Sealing someone, or banishing them to the Shadow Realm, though effective against mere mortals did not always hold for those with magic in their blood…
“Why are you here?” Seto snarled. He recognized the woman. She was the one who had broken into his company and drugged him. Seeing her here, with the Millennium Eye in one socket simply reminded him of Pegasus. His stomach roiled at the sight of her.
What kind of card was she, anyways?
“I forgive you.”
“What?”
“You are about to die, so it makes no difference if you know who I truly am…”
He did not understand her at all. Why - what did this crazy woman want from him? What did she want?
“Sleep well.”
The last thing he saw was brilliant white lightning…
And he cursed as he recognized who she was.
Why?
Why did you betray me…?
Blue-Eyes…
