Ch. 8: E-mail Talk

Around 10:00 p.m., the phone rings in Ryou's room.

-Ryou's POV-
I wake up at the sound of my phone, I grabbed the thing and answered. “Hello.” I said and looked at my alarm clock, which read 10:15.

“Hey Ryou, it's Yugi.” He said, sounding a bit rushed.

“Hey Yugi, what's up?” I said, wondering why on Earth is he calling me this late at night?

“Listen Ryou, I need you to get on the computer and check your e-mail. I'll explain once you're there. Bye.” He said as he hung up. `Okay, that was weird.' I thought as I crawled out of bed and towards my computer.

“You got mail.” My computer chimed. I clicked the mail icon labeled `check it out', I was shocked to see, myself, only different. “What on Earth!” I quickly went to video-speaker mode and clicked onto Yugi's chat icon and saw him, already waiting and Kia as well.

“You're probably wondering about the picture right now.” Yugi said on the right side of the screen.

“Yeah, what's all that about?” I asked in sheer confusion.

“I called Malik.” Kia said on the left. “But I think he's still asleep.”

“Okay, we'll discuss the plan to him when he gets here.” Yugi said.

“Plan? What plan?” I said, lost and unsure.

-Malik's POV-
I woke up around 10:45 p.m. I always had a trouble with sleeping. I groaned as I looked over at my phone, which has two messages. One was from a telemarketer. `Damn them to hell for wasting their fuckin' time for everyone.' I thought as I erase that message. The last one was Kia's.

“Malik, when you get this message, check your e-mail. Yugi and I will explain everything once you're there.”

When the message was over, I stared at the phone. “Oookaay.” Was all I could say at the moment before heading towards the computer. I looked out of the window, and to my dismay, it was still pouring with rain. `Damn, why is it still raining.' I look away and headed towards the computer room. As soon as I sat down and checked my e-mail. “WHAT THE HELL!!” I saw someone who looks like me in some kind of jar or something. It took a few moments, but I went to video-speaker mode and found Yugi, Kia, and Ryou, who were visually clear on the screen. “Would you care to explain to me, why you sent this fucked up picture in my e-mail!”

“The person you saw moments ago does indeed look like you, but he isn't.” Kia answered calmly. “He goes by the name of Marik, and the reason we showed you that is because we kinda need your help.”

I raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean `we'?” I said looking at everyone. Yugi then broke the silence.

“Well, you see Malik, this whole thing happened when I completed the Millennium Puzzle and…”

“Millennium Puzzle!” I cut him off. “What do you mean when you `completed the puzzle! That thing was supposed to stay in the pharaoh's tomb for all eternity! How the hell did you get it!?” I finished my little rampage and noticed all three faces were staring at me, shocked.

“You know about the Millennium Puzzle?” Yugi asked, his eyes wide with shock.

“Damn right I know about it!” I yelled.

“When did you know about the puzzle?” Yugi continued to question.

“Other then the fact that my ancestors used to protect the tombs back in the day.” I said, while the others give me a curious look. “My ancestors protected not only the Pharaoh's Millennium Puzzle, but also three others.”

“Like my Silver Puzzle?” Kia said as she lifted the small upside-down pyramid in view around her neck.

I stared at her for a moment. “Do you have anything Ryou?” I asked. He looked a bit sheepish and left the room, but came back with an object in his hand.

“Does this count?” He said. “I got it from my folks today.”

“The Millennium Ring.” I said. Then I went through one of the drawers and got out the Millennium Rod.

“Are these the items that your ancestors were suppose to protect?” Kia asked.

“Yeah” I said. (A/N: I know there's seven items, but there's only four for this story. Okay?) “Back to my question, where did you get that puzzle from?”

“I got it from Grandpa. He retrieved the puzzle way before I was born.” Yugi said.

Kia started to type something that showed our look-alikes. “We were about to explain about the plan to get our look-alikes out of that lab.”

-Normal POV-
“What plan?” Malik said as Kia typed something, which caused the whole screen to look like a graphical lay out of the building.

“Okay, listen, it maybe crazy, but we have to get the four out of the lab which is run by someone named Anzu, who is trying to do world domination or something, but she needs the Pharaoh's power in order to do so.” Kia explained.

Yugi took over from there. “We need someone who could drive a van. We will use this to carry them and ourselves to and from the lab hideout, and I was thinking that Ryou would do it.”

“Why me Yugi?” Ryou asked.

“One, you got your driver's license longer than any of us. Two, you don't go speed crazy like Malik does.” Yugi pointed out.

“HEY!” Malik shouted, but no one seemed to pay any mind about it.

Kia cut in. “We also need someone to knock-out the guards while we're inside.” She sighed. “And to reek havoc on the machinery that's in there as well. I think that's a perfect job for you Malik.”

“And why's that?” Malik asked.

“One, you like to fight. Two, you love to create minor chaos, whenever you get the chance. And three, you're pretty much crazy.” Kia pointed out.

“I'll agree with you on the first two.” Malik said, annoyed.

“So, what are we going to do once we get there?” Ryou asked.

“First things first.” Kia said, but before she could continue, Malik cut in.

“Who died and made you the boss?”

“As I was saying,” She said, “we have to find van that could at least carry ten or more people. Anyone know where to find one?”

“I know one.” Malik said. “We use one of the medium trucks to carry fair sized artifacts.”

“Great.” Kia said. “We'll continue this in Yugi's house tomorrow, sound good?”

“Alright.” Ryou said.

“I have nothing better to do.” Malik replied.

As everyone logged off, Yugi changed into his p.j.'s and crawled in bed. He looked out the window, which looked gloomy to him. “Hang in there Pharaoh, we're going to get you out as soon as possible. That's a promise.” He said before sleep took over.
