Ch.15: Dinner Mess
-Yugi's POV-
After being dropped off, I dragged the Pharaoh and myself up the stairs to my room. I placed him on the bed and I collapsed on a nearby chair. I looked over at my alarm clock, which read 2:15 p.m., then I looked back at the sleeping pharaoh.
Then the phone from downstairs, which made me feel annoyed for some reason. I went down and answered it. “Game shop residents.”
“Yugi?” Grandpa replied on the other line.
“Hi Grandpa.” I said. “How's Egypt?” I already knew the answer to that question.
“Terrible.” Grandpa said. “When I got here, I was informed that the tomb I told you about is ransacked! And what's worst, whoever entered the tomb, took the Pharaoh's remains.” He explained the situation until he calmed down and moved onto a different subject. “How are things going over there?” He asked.
`Should I tell him that the pharaoh he's looking for is alive and at the house?' I thought as I ran through the things before the rescue. “We don't have school until the weather lightens up and it's kind of obvious that there hasn't been any customers after you left.” I said as I ran off some of the daily, normal things and decided to tell him. “And the pharaoh you're talking about earlier, well…” I started to explain the whole story from the moment I solved the puzzle.
~35 minutes later~
“And now he's upstairs in my room, asleep.” I finished explaining and waited for Grandpa to say something. When he said nothing, I changed the subject. “So, when are you coming back?” I said, getting a really bad feeling about this.
“Tomorrow late in the evening.” Grandpa said. “I would like to meet your new friend, umm, what' his name?” He added, in his cheerful happy-go-lucky tone.
“I don't know his real name yet.” I said, imagining Grandpa nodding over the phone.
“Alright Yugi, see you tomorrow.” He said as he hung up.
“See ya.” I said as I hang up the phone as well.
I went back upstairs and went into my room, where I decided to rest my head, since I woke up a bit early to get the Pharaoh out as soon as possible. I went over to my desk and laid my head down and I fell asleep there.
~4 hours later~
I woke up, a bit dazed, but shook it off. I looked over to the still sleeping pharaoh.
`He must have not gotten enough sleep when he was in the lab.' I thought as I stretched my arms above my head. I looked over to the clock, which read 6:24 p.m., that's when my stomach decided to make itself known. I held onto my stomach to drown out the loud growl, I looked over to the Pharaoh, who didn't show signs of awakening. I quickly, but quietly went out of my room and down the stairs and into the kitchen, where I decided to make something.
-Pharaoh's POV-
I opened my eyes and looked around this new surrounding. `What, in the name of Ra, happened? I thought as I placed my hand over my eyes and tried to think back what happened, which didn't take long. “Yugi!” I said aloud as I quickly got up from the bed, but I started to stumble and fell. “Ow.” (A/N: Sorry everyone, but I promise, this is the only time I would do something like this, or so flame me to oblivion. Please don't.) `Brilliant Pharaoh.' I thought as I slowly got up. `Absolutely brilliant.'
I looked around the room, which was too dark for me to see. I looked out the window and saw that the rain had lighten up, but it didn't stop coming down. I started to shiver from a slight breeze, since I wore nothing except the loincloth skirt around my waist. I found my way to a closet. `I'm sure he won't mind if I barrowed some of his clothes.' I thought as I looked through, even though it was hard to see, and picked out some items that seem fitting.
When I finally got dressed, in a white shirt and black tight fitting pants, which I didn't mind at all, I heard something coming outside the door. I opened the door, which revealed a hallway, I continue to follow the sound until I reached the top step to the stairs leading down. My curiosity got the best of me as I walked down the steps.
-Normal POV-
The Pharaoh walked down the last step and turned to where the sound was. When he did, he stood at the doorway, watching what looked like him, except smaller, by a few inches, going back and forth to pots and pans and other items.
`Could this be Yugi?' He thought as he continued to watch the little running look-alike.
Yugi, on the other hand, was finishing dinner. “Done, finally!” He said as he plopped down on a chair. He looked around at the mess he created. `I'm going to do a lot of cleaning before Grandpa comes home.' He sighed at the thought.
The Pharaoh walked up quietly behind Yugi and looked at the catastrophe and smiled.
“You sure made quite a mess here.” He said, hoping with all his heart that this person is Yugi.
Yugi spun around and looked up at the Pharaoh. “I see you're awake Pharaoh.” He said with some laughter in his words. He felt his heart skip a few beats when he looked up at the Pharaoh's crimson eyes, which show happiness and relief.
“And you must be Yugi then.” The Pharaoh said as Yugi nodded.
A beeping sound went off, making the Pharaoh give an odd look, while Yugi got up and turned it off, then he opened the oven and pulled out a small container.
“What's that?” The Pharaoh asked as he walked up to where the small teen was standing.
“It's called lasagna.” Yugi answered and nearly laughed when he saw the Pharaoh's expression of complete lost.
0000000000
“That was good!” Yugi said after finishing his piece.
“It's not bad.” The Pharaoh said, the same with Yugi.
Yugi looked at the clock, which read 8:06, and got up to start collecting the dishes. The Pharaoh pitched in to help.
“You don't have to help me out.” Yugi said as he saw the Pharaoh carrying pots and pans and placed them in the sink.
The Pharaoh gave him an odd look, but smiled. “You've done a lot for me Yugi, so I'm returning the favor.”
Yugi wasn't too sure about it.
“And besides, you might need help cleaning this mess you made.” He said as he pointed out the kitchen, which made Yugi to agree and let him help out.
0000000000
“That's the last of it.” Yugi announced as he finished cleaning the counter tops.
“Not bad, for an hour and a half's work.” The Pharaoh said as he stretched his arms out.
Yugi nodded, then let out a yawn, which the older teen noticed.
“Tired Yugi.” The Pharaoh said, knowing that the small teen is tired from everything that has happened today.
Yugi nodded, now hardly letting himself stay awake, but walked over to the stairs, with the Pharaoh following behind. He walked up a few steps before nearly falling foreword.
The Pharaoh caught him just before he fell completely.
“Are you alright?” He asked, concerned.
“I'm fine, really.” Yugi said trying to reassure, but the other wasn't convinced.
Yugi climbed another few steps before falling to the side. At this point, the Pharaoh didn't take any chances for another, so he carried Yugi, bridal style, which the smaller teen to be a bit shocked.
“What are you doing Pharaoh?” Yugi asked, with a little blush on his face.
“I'm carrying you to your room.” The Pharaoh responded. “And call me Atemu, alright.”
Yugi nodded as they reached the last step and reached the smaller teen's room. Atemu set Yugi down on the bed.
“Thanks Atemu.” Yugi said.
“You're welcome Aibou.” Atemu said.
“Aibou?” Yugi said as he tilted his head to the side.
Atemu was about to say something but Yugi cut in.
“Aibou. I like the sound of it.” He said with a smile as he got up and found some nightclothes to change into and handed it to Atemu.
After Atemu got out of the bathroom, with the white p.j.'s Yugi gave him, he went into Yugi's room and saw that Yugi was still up.
“Hey Atemu.” He said with a smile.
“You should get some sleep Yugi.” Atemu said, a bit concerned.
“I know, I was just waiting for you that's all.” Yugi said as he let out a yawn.
Atemu wasn't sure what Yugi meant by that, he was about to ask when Yugi padded the empty side of the bed. He took the hint, since he didn't know where to sleep for the night, he went over and crawled onto that side. Once he covered himself with the sheet, he looked over to see the other, already fast asleep, he smiled and slowly drifted to sleep.
~Fifteen minutes later~
One of the two was having a dream, or nightmare. Atemu had sweat forming on his forehead, then his eyes shot opened and quickly looked around the room and then at the sleeping form next to him. He calmed down, but couldn't get back to sleep.
-Atemu's POV-
`What a nightmare.' I thought as I wiped the sweat from my forehead. `I don't even remember what is was about.' I sighed and stared at the ceiling. Then I felt something on my neck, I looked to the side and saw Yugi, nuzzling against me. I felt his arm holding me in a gentle embrace. For some reason I didn't mind at all, the fact that Yugi is fast asleep and probably doesn't know what he's doing was plain fully obvious, but I liked the sense of calmness and warmth coming from him.
Then, for the first time since I got here, the rain stopped and the moon's gentle light came through the window and I could see the Yugi's angelic face. I felt my face becoming warm while I continue to stare at my innocent aibou.
`My innocent aibou?' I thought confused, but shook it off, though it did have a nice ring to it. I looked over at Yugi for a little while more, then I drifted off to sleep again.

This is a long chapter. So what do you think? It looks like Atemu is showing some signs, but is in denial. What do you think the title, “Realizing Love” meant. R&R please.
