Ch.24: Atemu's Day (pt3) Clocks

Atemu continued to hum the song while getting closer to the museum.

-Atemu's POV-
I finally made it to the museum entrance, as I walked up the steps I heard a familiar voice.

“HEY ATEMUU!!” Alysia said as she popped out of nowhere.

I jumped back a bit, startled at first. “Hello Alysia.” I said straightening myself and saw Moukaba running up behind Alysia.

“What took ya?” She said as she playfully slapped his back.

“Trying to catch up with you.” He said, catching his breath.

Alysia smiled and looked up at me. “What brings you here?” She asked.

I held out the brown package. “Delivering this to the university.” I said looking around. “You wouldn't happen to know where it is, do you?”

The two pointed to their left, I looked to where they were pointing, and there it is.

“Thank-you.” I said as I bowed and walked towards the building.

“You're welcome.” Alysia said. “But next time, don't be all formal and - ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING!!”

I mentally shrugged to myself to that last one.

~Inside the university~
It took me a while to find the right place to deliver this package. When I went up to the door that one of the students pointed out, I knocked on the door and then I heard a crash from the inside. I was about to enter, but the door knob began to move and the door jerked open, revealing a mid-aged man with crazy dull brown hair, a white coat with numerous stains, and a some kind of strange eye wear above his head.

“May I help you?” He asked and I could tell he didn't get enough sleep by the bags under his eyes.

“I come here to deliver a package from Mr. Mouto.” I said as I held out the package.

He looked at the object and gently took the box from my hands. “About time this damn thing arrived, scuse my language. Would you like to come in?” He said as he moved aside from the door.

My curiosity has gotten the better of me again as I walked in, only to see all the inventions he had all over the place, the floor, the ceiling, even his desk and walls were covered.

“Sorry about the mess.” He said. “I've been doing some clock making lately.” He closed the door and walked over the desk.

“Clock making?” I said as I tiptoed my way to the desk.

“Yes.” He said. “You see, in two days it well be my beloved's birthday and she absolutely hates her alarm clock.” He picked around the pieces of the inside of the clock.

`I could relate.' I thought, as I remembered about that Ra damn noise.

“So,” He continued. “I thought that the perfect gift for her is a new alarm clock, featuring her favorite dual monster: the Mystical Elf.” He announced as he placed the main pieces in and showed off his work.

The clock looked more like a miniature statue. The Mystical Elf was sitting elegantly on the ground, that looked like a field of wild flowers, a forest in the background, and what looked like a small lake, the clock part was set on a boulder at the far right of the elf.

“Watch this.” He said as he set the alarm, but instead of the annoying, beeping sound, it rang out a melody. He pointed at the boulder again and pressed it to make the melody stop. “What do you think?”

“Better than any alarm clock I've heard.” I said. “And the art work would definitely fool people to think of it as a decoration.”

He smiled and said yes under his breath. I have to smile at his cheerful antics. Then he carefully placed the clock in a box and filled it with a strange white stuff. He got up and went over to grab another box and brought it over to the desk. He took another clock out, but this one looks like a field of wild flowers, the clock part was in the center of the outer edge, surrounded by what looks like a writhe of grass. He pressed the clock, after setting the alarm, and a Kuriboh popped up from the field.

“Kirri, kirri!” The clock rang out, until he pressed the clock again and the clock went back to its plain state.

“What do you think?” He asked.

“I think it's great.” I said as he placed the clock back and handed it to me.

“You can keep it.” He said with a smile.

I wasn't sure if I want to take it or not, but the thought of hearing that beeping again came to mind. I accepted this man's gift and bid him farewell.

“If you got any questions, don't hesitate to ask.” He said as he closed the door behind me.

I noticed the words on the door. `Pro. Wind.' I smiled and walked my way back.
