Part 12

Bakura's POV

I looked around the could house for something to eat. Things weren't the same without Ryou. I found a small TV dinner and put it in the microwave. I slumped down to the couch an turned the TV. I flicked through the channels till I found the news. "Crazy murderer still at large! Dommino City terrified!" Ryou never told me about this. I switched the channel again. "9 killed 1 survivor in the murdering so far."1 still alive, the words echoed through my head. I was so transfixed on the TV that I missed the microwave beep. I turned off the TV and went to the microwave, Ryou was the only survivor. For the first time in ages I was very proud of him. I wonder if he still had the millennium ring. He wouldn't have it after what I did to him. I began to open the link; it sure was taking a long time. When I finally got a connection Ryou seemed shocked that I had called him.

//Ryou where are you!?// Was the first thing I managed to say. /B-Bakura?/ //Yeah?// /Why are you calling me?/ //Because I want to know where you are!//

/I, I can't tell you./ He closed the link. "Ryou!" I slammed my fists on the counter.

Why couldn't he tell me?

Ryou's POV

Bakura, I miss you so much. I hung on to Yoshiko as tight as I could, my arms felt oddly weak. My shoulder had caught up with me and was burning even worse than last time. I looked forward and broke into a scratchy cough, Ares looked at me. "Are you alright?" He asked. "Yeah, I'll be fine." I tried to stop coughing but that caused me to cough blood, once again Ares looked at me, worried.

When we reached a town near the ocean I looked for an inn. Ares's eyes were dull and ghostly as he looked at the inn or was it the water? Either way he looked unhappy about it. We walked up to it, when inside Ares began to look at anything other than the woman at the desk. "Hello little slayer." She smiled warmly. "How long will you be staying?" "1 night, he's with us as well." I pointed to Ares. "Alright that will be 145 shillings." I remembered I had no money. "Uh-" Ares slapped down the coins needed. "Alright you're room 6." "Thanks." I replied. Ares had already vanished down the hall. I walked around looking for our room, there were a handful of people walking about but I couldn't see Ares. Oh well.

When I found our room I went in side and sat on my bed. I snapped my fingers and Yoshiko grew small again. I fell onto the bed and stared at the ceiling, Yoshiko curled up into a ball on my chest and started to dose.

It had been 22 minutes before I got up again; Ares had been gone far too long. I walked past the front desk. "Um Madame? Have you seen the man that walked in here with me?" "No I haven't. Is he missing?" "I don't know."

She was a bundle of help. I looked around the parts of town I could see from the inn. There was a forest to the west and a few buildings in the town, like a bar or houses. I snapped my fingers and went to the forest.

Part 13

When I got to the forest I saw that it was a lot like a farm, there was cows, sheep and chickens in barns and a small farm house. I doubt he'd be here. I continued forward.

It was like a jungle after you got going for a while, just no animals. This was becoming hopeless. After an hour I decided to go back to the hotel, I'm sure Ares would show up.

Ares's POV

Hah. I took another puff on my cigarette. Ryou worries about the things that aren't important. I sat in a shadow at the bar; as usual anyone who passed me stared at my person till I moved. My life was just a living nightmare. Some drunk passed me. "Hey," He called to his friends. "Look at the little girl sitting all by herself!" He pointed to me. "Hehehe. Little girl need a date?" He stroked my chin. "Sine your drunk I'll let you off with a warning." I puffed smoke in his face and pulled out my staff. "Huh?" I slit his throat. "Do I look like a girl to you?" I pulled a loose bang from my eye. The cowards stumbled out of the bar tripping over 1 another. I smirked in satisfaction, the drunk on the floor was slowly dying. "Let me help." I sent the sharp end of the staff through his heart. Blood splattered over my hands. I stuck a finger in my mouth a sucked the blood clean off. It tasted sweet; I picked up a bloody disconnected body part. The blood tasted even better when there was more. The others at the bar looked at me, their eyes filled with anger. "Who's next?" I dropped what was in my hand and looked for living prey. "Hmm. You." I pointed to a young boy, about 9 years. "No don't harm my son!" A grungy man stepped forth to take the boy's place in death. "So be it." I walked to the man, the room seemed to hold its breath, I blew a large smoke cloud and the man fell flat. I put out my cig. The ashes blew to the man's bloody neck. "Father!" The boy cried as he fell on his fathers back, sobbing. "Father," The boy looked up. "You, You-" I lit another cigarette. "Yeah what?" I closed my eyes. "I'll get you." From his heavy footsteps I could hear him run closer, closer, and- "Another 1 bites the dust." The boy's carcass caused the crowd to scream and yell, personally it was very amusing. I swiped a staff blast and 10 fell dead, then 20 then 30. Once satisfied I left the building leaving only a rose in a blood puddle.

Ryou's POV

I sat on the bed again, something thick spread through the air, the smell of livers and blood. A slaughter. The woman interrupted my thoughts when she barged in. "Slayer!! You must kill the vampire!" She panted as her hair dangled over her face. "Ares?" "What ever thou calls him! He's slaughtering the village!" I knew I smelt a slaughter. "Here take my 4 edged dagger!" She passed me a strange 4 bladed sword. "It is a very good weapon! You are the village's only hope! Please save us!" But Ares had helped me so much, what should I do?! Yoshiko looked at me, and her eyes spelled a thousand words.

Part 14

I walked down the street; it was pasted in blood and gore. People hid behind barrels and hay stacks. The smell grew deeper as I turned the corner.

Many people had weapons in a circle all heading in the same direction. The sky was dark and it was becoming harder to see straight. The people were chanting words that sounded like they were in a Count Dracula movie. Well they were I guess. I walked through the people like long grass, one bigger than the last. When I reached the end Ares was smirking and his eyes were all white. He looked ghostly. "R-Ryou?" He looked shocked. "Ares." I sighed as I taped into the power off the ring, everything went white.

I woke up with a bandage on my head. "Where am I?" "Slayer!" It was the old woman. "You did it you banished the vampire!" Actually I only sent the people home and erased their memory. "Are you to leave now?" "Yes." "Then take the dagger, it will be of great help." "Thank you." When she left I noticed Yoshiko had a note. She put it on my lap, it read.

Dear Ryou,

I am not quite ready to help you to destroy your father. I am dangerous at this moment and need to find sanity again. I wish you luck,

I will rejoin you when the time is right.

"Well Yoshiko, I guess it's just you and me again."
