Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Slowly Sinking And No One To Save Me ❯ Fool ( Chapter 10 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Mistress: Hello all you faithful readers! Thank you for waiting this long for the next chapter. I am trying to update all my stories today. -__-;; I haven't really been that good at that lately.

If you guys want some more Ryou angst I wrote one a few days back called Roles Reversed, Ryou's a but psychotic in it but it's pretty good (at least that's what my reviews tell me) it does have some lime content so beware.

Okay here are some questions many of you are wondering about,

Will this be a MMBR?
I wasn't planning to making it that but the further I get into it the more I am leaning towards that. BUT I had intended for this to be RB so if I did write that I would write TWO versions, one with BR and the other ending in BRMM. It's not written in blood yet so no worries k.

Happy ending or no?

Well….I can guarantee that the ending will not be a marry-sue ending. I'm toying with two endings so I may have an alternate ending to the story.

I tried to make this longer because WE HAVE REACHED THE FIRST TEN CHAPTERS OF SLOWLY SINKING AND NO ONE TO SAVE ME! WOOT WOOT!

Thank you all my readers, you are what keeps us authors going! Without your help there would be no story! Thank you for reading and reviewing and commenting! Thank you! This chapter is for you guys!

Okay I have kept you long enough, I believe it is time to start.

EDITED ON MAY 1st! ORIGINAL CHAPTER POSTED! DIFFERENT ENDING!

(okay after I set down the story and re-read it I almost gagged, I'm putting the second version up to see if it's any better)

Chapter 10: Fool

I am a fool to think you cared
I am a fool to think I mattered
I am a fool for being me

I am fool for believing in you,
I am a fool to think you would keep your word
I am a fool for being me

I am a fool because of the actions I take,
I am a fool to want you near
I am a fool for being me

I am a fool for loving something that can never be mine
I am a fool for thinking things would change,
I am a fool for being me.

But I am not the only fool, because you are too…

You are a fool to think that it doesn't hurt
You are a fool to think I will tag along without protest
You are a fool for not seeing anything right
You are a fool…but I love you anyway.

Ryou Bakura, 27,03,05(1)

Ryou sat staring out the window, watching the trees pass by as green blurs and the houses melting into one big blob. He could vaguely hear his three companions chatting in the background. The closer they got to the mall the tighter the knot that had formed in his stomach became. Something was going to happen….and he couldn't stop it.

Bakura watched the young boy with worry evident in his eyes. He leaned up so that he was placed in between the drivers seat and the passengers seat.

“This better work…I'm really starting to get worried,” Bakura admitted sending glances towards Ryou who had not moved from his one spot after writing something into his black notebook.

Malik smiled sympathetically and quickly placed a kiss on Bakura's nose.

“I'm sure he'll be fine. Maybe he just needs to get out of the house,” he said trying to soothe his lover's anxieties.

Bakura smiled halfheartedly and scooted back into his seat. Although the three boys thought Ryou had gone catatonic he had been well aware of the small exchange. He didn't belong here. He should've refused to come along…he should've made an excuse, anything to get away from these people. It hurt too much. If he was at home he could lock himself up in his room and pretend…pretend nothing existed but him and his book. All alone in silent eternity. The young boy was so wrapped up in his thoughts he did not notice they had arrived at the mall until Bakura tapped him on the shoulder. Ryou jumped and turned around to see the worried complexion of his secret love.

“You okay Ryou?” Malik asked sticking his head in beside Bakura.

“Yes I am fine…I was just lost in thought,” Ryou said softly as he stepped out of the car.

The four boys walked to the entrance of the mall. At first they visited stores they thought Ryou might like. Their first stop was Borders Books and Music(2). While the three waited Ryou quickly found the books he found interesting and those he thought he may need in the future. Rou paid quickly and made his way towards his friends. He started to walk slower seeing as the three hadn't noticed Ryou was done yet. He pressed himself behind the large advertisement for the new Harry Potter Book(3) and calmed the pounding in his ears in attempt to catch their conversation.

“Ryou doesn't look like he's cheering up any,” Bakura said forlornly.

“No….but we need to visit some stores, is there anywhere we can drop Ryou off for a moment `cause I don't think we can take him to the stores we were planning on visiting today,” Marik said leaning against the glass doors.

The truth was the day had been planned weeks ahead of time for the three of them. Ryou realized that soon enough and a horrible feeling entered his stomach. His throat closed up and his breathing slowed. His heart seemed to have stopped beating. The only reason he was hear was because they pitied him…that was worse than being forgotten. Ryou took a shaky breath and used the same trick he had used when he first discovered the three boys secret relationship. He walked back making sure to alert them of his presence once more. He rounded the corner to see the three a safe distance apart and smiling.

“So where do you want to go next Ryou?” Malik asked cheerfully.

“Uhm…if you don't mind I'd like to go eat something…I know this place close by…but if you have a store you would like to visit go ahead. I'll be at Moonlight Café near Entrance 3 if you need to find me,” Ryou said walking out of the store not giving the others time to respond, agree or disagree.

As Ryou trudged ahead he could see the reflection of the three in the mirrored walls the he was walking near. The three were in deep conversation. He saw Bakura's shoulders sag slightly and then lift up again as a wicked smile was placed on his lips. Marik kissed him passionately, not knowing Ryou was watching, and the three went in the opposite direction that Ryou was going.

Ryou sighed in relief and sadness. He had mixed feelings, sadness that his yami had decided not to join him or at lest try to stop him….then again why would Bakura do that? He had Marik and Malik after all, much better company. Yet he felt relived to be out of their presence. When they were near he felt suffocated…dying…he felt like throwing up. Ryou was always tense when they were around, they did not want him there because if he was there they would not be able to indulge in their passionate exclamations of love.

Ryou sighed sadly and walked into the small Café known as Moonlight Café. The walls were black and the lights glowed softly like the moon. Each table had velvety chairs surrounding it, or if you had a corner table a velvety sofa. The floor was marble of course and there was a stage at the middle of the room where a Jazz band was playing.(4) For the first time in awhile he felt himself smile a little as he seated himself at a one person table in the back where you could not find him unless you were looking for him.

Meanwhile Bakura, Marik, and Malik were inside a sex store buying various items. They also bought new outfits ( each was leather ) while browsing through stores. The time seemed to fly by as the three shopped together. Marik, Bakura, and Malik stopped at a fast food stand and sat down to eat. A small voice in the back of Bakura's mind was trying to tell him something as he enjoyed his meal…finally it dawned onto him.

“Ryou!” he exclaimed his eyes wide.

His two companions looked confused for a moment but that ws quickly replaced by horrid realization. Malik quickly looked at his watch. 7:56 PM. They had parted from Ryou around 2… Bakura groaned and let his head fall onto the table with a bang.

“Where did Ryou say he would be waiting again?” Bakura asked his two lovers.

The two thought about it for a moment before Malik spoke out, “He said Moonlight Café.”

The three quickly stood up and started walking.

“Near where is it?” Marik asked after some time of walking.

“I think I remember Ryou saying it was near Entrance 3,” Malik said as they walked faster.

It was 8: 21 and the three finally saw the beautiful sign that hung above the door of the café. The three walked in and gasped. No wonder Ryou liked it here, this was his kind of place. And although it seemed nice the three preferred wild clubs. Taking a deep breath they scanned the room for the young albino. Not finding him he found ha waitress and gave a brief description of Ryou.

“Oh you mean the good looking boy who writes great poetry?” the woman asked as she balanced some drinks in her hand.

“Was his name Ryou?” Bakura asked putting the comment ` writes great poetry' in the back of his mind for safe keeping.

“Mmm, how could anyone forget the name of an angel? Sorry to say you missed him, he left an hour or so ago I think…” the waitress said and then excused herself.

The three looked at each other in worry. Where could Ryou be. Bakura was about togive up when a plea for help reached his mind. Ryou…

“Ryou's in danger,” Bakura stated racing out of the café.

The three ran and finally to center of the mall to find Ryou in the middle of the water fountain…soaked. There seemed to be tears in his eyes but the water was covering them up. He was holding his ankle tightly. Behind Bakura Marik was having a hard time containing his laughter. Bakura sighed and walked next to his hikari.

“You okay Ryou?” he asked bending down.

“I'm fine…” Ryou mumbled quickly.

“No you're not…what happened…” Bakura said sighing.

Ryou looked down and his his eyes behind his pale locks.

”Uhm…well I was walking….because…well…and I reached here…and well someone ran me over…and I well …..tripped…and hurt my ankle while falling into the fountain…” Ryou mumbled blushing under his curtain of hair.

Bakura sighed and petted Ryou in a loving/scolding matter.

“We need to get him into some dry clothes…our house is nearest so we'll go there,” Marik suggested.

With a nod Bakura agreed and lifted Ryou from the fountain. Before he could get far the young boy panicked and demanded to be let down. Shocked Bakura argued for a moment before letting Ryou down. The young boy walked back to the scene of his “attack” and three confused boys followed. He rummaged around the fountain on the ground and let out a sigh of relief as his hands clasped the book he was so fond off.

Bakura and Marik rolled their eyes not understanding the sentimental value of it and Malik was just confused. Bakura once again lifted Ryou into his arms this receiving a weak protest from the boy. The four reached the car and Marik started riving to the Ishtar residence. Bakura took his jacket off and wrapped it around Ryou, now it was cold out so Malik “volunteered” to keep Bakura warm. They had this planned. As the bright lights passed by Ryou opened his book and wrote a new poem titled , “ Fool.”

AUTHORS BLAH BLAH

Mistress: I hope this chapter is longer and more satisfactory. Was it any good? Anyway I hope you liked it. In the next chapter I think that more about our villainess will be revealed.

Okay This has a new ending, my new version, the one I wrote the first time, and then I changed it because it made Ryou sound so pathetic…but then I realized it's just more Ryou angst and that I like it better that way. ^__^ Have fun!

(1)I had a hard time making a poem and chapter that would go together for this story at the mall but I think I did and okay job.
(2)This is an actual store, I do not own.
