Chapter 20: Slowly Sinking And No One To Save Me
I'm slowly sinking but there is no one there to save me,
No one to pull me up,
No one to lean on
I'm slowly sinking and no one cares
Everybody looks away
Everybody leaves
I'm slowly sinking
I'm slowly burning
I'm slowly dying
Will you save me?
Ma'at
Ma'at waited at the abandoned warehouse for Ryou to arrive, she was guiding him along using the link she had formed between the two of them. As she felt he was close enough to drive on his own she moved back and faced Nadia.
“You should greet him in your body Mistress,” Nadia said as she prepared a bottle and some other things.
“Yes…did you get the supplies?” Ma'at asked.
Nadia nodded, “A few drops of blood from kin, flesh from the woman we killed, and bones from your brothers other halves mother.”
Flashy
Nadia parted with Ma'at. She had a few things to get before their revenge could begin. They needed Ryou to come to the warehouse for two reasons, Ma'at wanted her lover back and to lure her brother. Nadia closed her eyes and tried to trace the presence of her mistresses' brother. She found him quickly enough. Moving quickly she soon found herself in the backyard. Atemu was clipping roses…
`Perfect…he's making this so easy for me,' Nadia thought as she moved carefully through the brush.
Moving the bushes she watched as Atemu's hand came closer to a sharp thorn. She almost yelped in glee as Atemu punctured his finger. Reacting quickly she move a glass bottle to catch the few drops that dripped from his finger. Just as swiftly as she arrived she disappeared.
`Now to find bone,' she thought…
End flashy
“Good, then we can begin to make me my body,” Ma'at said as she cleared at able. She stripped herself of her clothes and laid down on the table. Nadia smiled down at her and moved to the stove in the back.(2)
(( this gets a little graphic so warning you ))
Nadia came back with a glowing piece of metal. With a sigh and a steady hand Nadia placed a piece of cloth into Ma'at's mouth to muffle her just in case she screamed. Although Ma'at had assured her no pain would ever compare to what had happened at the Ritual Sacrifice. She moved the glowing iron onto Ma'at's hosts stomach and began to carve symbols into it. She watched as the skin split and melted the blood that bubbled out quickly melting with the skin. Ma'at twitched and her body shook as Nadia carved the symbol into her but didn't make any other noise.
Nadia pulled the iron back and picked up a piece of charcoal. With that she inscribed the bottles as well as the table with more symbols. She placed her palm over Ma'at's head and the other over the part of the table that was clear. Nadia's eyes opened brightly as Ma'at soul began to move from the head into her palm. Meanwhile at the other table the bone was beginning to grow and the muscle and flesh began to stretch itself over it, slowly molding. The few drops of blood began to multiply and spill over mixing into the flesh and bones. As she felt Ma'at soul secure inside her body Nadia took a spoon and began to pop the eyes out of the body her mistress had hosted previously. She placed them at the top of the symbols.
Next she picked up a knife and cut a piece of her hair and placed it on top of the mass of moving material. It was quickly swallowed and added to the mixture. The mass twisted and turned slowly starting to take the shape of a human body. To ensure that the body would be female Nadia also used the knife to prick her finger and let a few droplets of her blood into the mix.
(( end of graphics ))
A few minuets later the body was finished, Nadia was glad for it. She wasn't sure how long the two of them would be able to share a body. Placing the her left palm onto the head of the body her eyes opened wide once more shining a dark blue light. Her arm shook as Ma'at's soul rushed from the medium to the body. Agonizing minutes passed by before the dark eyes of the body opened and blinked.
“My own body…” Ma'at said softly as she sat up and examined herself.
She turned around suddenly and looked at Nadia making sure she was okay. Nadia smiled weakly at her Mistress and went into the back to gather a few pieces of clothing she had gathered while out. Just as Ma'at finished dressing the gate to the warehouse opened and in the light stood Ryou.
“I'm here…” he panted.
Ma'at smiled. Ryou hadn't changed in looks to much. She walked toward him. “Ryou…” she said as she bent to kiss him.
Before he knew what he was doing Ryou was kissing back. Deep in his soul…he really did love Ma'at.
“What happened?” he asked.
“Let me show you….” Ma'at said as she closed her eyes.
Opening his mind he saw images, felt emotions, heard voices, everything that Ma'at had gone through. The pain, the sorrow, the hatred…everything…
Malik ran to the phone and dialed Marik's cell phone number.
“Hello?”
“Marik! Get back here it's Ryou!”
“What? But you're Malik…”
“Not that! I mean I think Ryou's in trouble!”
“Why didn't you say so in the first place! Me and Bakura also sensed strong shadow magic coming from the other side of town. You get Yami and Yugi and me and Bakura will already go ahead.”
“Meet you where?!”
“Damn…we're only following the shadow magic we don't know where it's going.”
“How about a Warehouse, number 3 to be exact, down by the Town.”
“Sounds about right where we're going, how'd you know?”
“Apparently Tadheya had sent a letter to Ryou telling him where she was.”
“And Ryou WENT?!”
“Yes yes, we're wasting time, Bye.”
With the phone call out of the way Malik pulled his shoes on and ran into the garage. Ryou had stolen his bike so he was stuck using the car. It wasn't that much harm really seeing as he would have to drive Yugi and Yami too. He backed up and sped to the Game Shop. Coming to a screeching halt Malik jumped out of the car and raced to the steps and pounded on the door. Within minutes Yami appeared looking very annoyed and surprised.
“Malik what are you doing here?” he asked.
“Ry (gasp) ou, in (gasp ) trouble you (gasp ) come now,” Malik said breathing heavily.
“Breath calmly, me and Yugi will be right there,” Yami said his suspicions confirmed.
The shadow energy he had felt earlier did belong to Tadheya then. He quickly explained the situation to Yugi and they were on their way. After the two left the phone rang but no one was there to answer.
“This is the Motou residence, we are not here at the moment. Please leave a message so we can contact you later.” Beeep
“Yami! Yugi! I know what Tadheya is planning to do! She wants revenge. She also wants Ryou back, do not go near her. You must stay as far away from her as you can. Please Pharaoh, she's trying to kill you!”
AUTHORS BLAH BLAH
Mistress: One more actual chapter left and then the epilogue. I decided not to do alternate endings, sorry, but I want to keep it BR.
(1)This is a thought/poem from Ma'at as she thinks of what she's been through, what was happening to her and then of course asking Ryou for help or something.
(2)Some warehouses in there you would actually build some of the part so that's why that's there and it's not a cooking stove mind you.
