*~Thursday: December the Nineteenth~*

Finally! Today is December the Ninteenth, Thursday. Today was the Domino High School Christmas Dance. Today is Day 10. It's DANCE DAY!!! YAY!!! ^-^ Oh, wait. The dance is during the night from 8:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. So it's DANCE NIGHT!!! YAY!!!(again!)^-^ The end of the dance was when their Christmas vacation officially started. Some brought dates and some went alone. (Don't worry, they're not alone. I went to my Christmas Dance alone too.) Mai amazingly went to the dance alone. So many boys from all four grades asked her to the dance, that she just couldn't choose. But she was saving a dance for a certain special someone who didn't ask her to the dance. ^_~* Yami also amazingly went to the dance alone. Same predicament as Mai's. TTº

"Why don't you dance?" Yugi asked Mai.

"Oh, I'm just saving a dance for someone." Mai answered, looking for that 'special' someone to dance with.

*~A Few Minutes Later~*

"Where is he?" Mai asked herself.

"Joey's over there if you were wondering." Yami pointed at the snack table where Joey was.

"Huh? Oh tha- Hey! How did you know?" Mai yelled out surprised.

"Let's just say that it was obvious." Yami said.

"Well, thanks anyway." Mai headed toward Joey.

Joey watched the rest of the kids dance the night away. Then he felt a light tap on his shoulder.

"Uh, hey Mai." he said blushing a faint pink.

"C'mon Joey. You think you brave enough to have one dance with Valentine?" Mai challenged.

"Uh....."

"I'll take that as a Yes." Mai grabbed Joey's hands and dragged him into the dance floor.

"Now isn't that cute?" Téa watched as the two danced together.

"This is definitely going in the yearbook." Tristan said as he took a few pictures.

Téa spotted Yami over in a corner, far from the action and noise. She decided to walk over and give him some company.

"They're some couple aren't they?"

Yami quickly turned around in surprise. "Oh, hello Téa."

"Hi Yami. Some dance huh?" Téa said.

"Yes."

"Yami, are you okay?" Téa asked gently. "Cause if you're not, you can explain to the principal and go hom-"

"You look pretty tonight Téa." Yami complimented.

Téa's face went completely red. "Uh, thank you." She couldn't believe Yami gave her a compliment.

The two were quiet for a while. They were both blushing a faint red. Téa turned around and faced Yami. She reached out her hand.

"Huh?"

"Dance with me."

"What?" Yami said confused.

"C'mon Yami please. Dance with me. I want you to." Téa still kept her hand outstretched.

"But..." he stammered.

"What's the matter? Don't you know how to dance?" Téa asked.

Yami's face was completely red now. "Well, actually...."

"It's alright. Not everyone knows how to dance. Come with me I'll teach you." Téa took Yami's hand and led him out onto the dance floor.

Yami spent the rest of the dance with Téa. She taught all she knew about dancing. He sort of got it. At least he was having more fun than before.

"It's been fun Téa." Yami said.

"Yeah, it has been fun." Téa replied. Right after she said this the rainbow lights went out and only the light of the mirror ball was the only light in the gym.

The DJ's voice blared from the speakers. "Alright now all the couples get together. It's time for the slow dance."

The fast dance music suddenly slowed down to soft and gentle music. Young couples got together and wrapped their arms around each other and started swaying back and forth to the music.

"Uh, your offer didn't include the slow dance did it?" Joey asked, his face red.

"Do you want it to?" she asked back.

"Well...."

"Alright" Mai wrapped her arms around Joey's neck and they joined the other students in the dance.

Yami watched the two dance. Then he looked at her. Téa. She looked lovely in the dimmed lights. Her big blue eyes sparkled. Yami sighed and walked over to the girl. He took her hand.

"Yami?"

"Dance with me."

Téa was too shocked to say anything. She felt her cheeks grow warm. She knew that she was blushing again.

"What's the matter? Don't you know how to dance?" Yami repeated the phrase that she had said earlier.

Téa laughed softly under her breath. "Alright." She took his hands and walked out to the dance floor with him. He put his hands around her waist, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. They moved slowly to the music.

"Look." Mai pointed to the couple behind them.

"Hey Yug, isn't that Yami?" Joey asked.

"Yeah. It is him."

Yami and Téa continued to dance until the slow song ended. A big crowd gathered around them. When Yami realized that he and Téa were being watched, he broke the embrace. The two were now laughing nervously and blushing.

"I got it all on film." Tristan held up his camera.

"Alright Yami! I didn't think you had it in ya." Joey complimented jokingly.

"Sssshhh! The principal's about to make an announcement." a senior said.

The principal came over and took the microphone from the DJ.

"Good Evening and Merry Christmas students! I hope you all had a lot of fun tonight. Tonight is the last night of school before Christmas. And this is the last time that our seniors will ever have a Christmas Cotillion at this school. But don't worry, we'll miss you all. At the sound of the bell, oops, I mean Jingle Bells, you may all leave and go home. At that moment, your Christmas vacation will officially begin. But before the bells ring, I'd like to say have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Now when the bells ring, I'd like you to walk in a nice, orderly-"

Before she got to finish her instructions, bells started to jingle in the background. The students all yelled out happily and started to run toward the door.
