Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ The Exfoilation of Perenial Beings ❯ Chapter nine ( Chapter 9 )
~ ~ ~
His feet pounded under him. The only sounds were the pounding of his feet, his frantic heart and his hysterical breathing as he ran. The ground slapped against his little feet as he ran.
Mommy…
He fell, breath hissing in and out of his body as he struggled back up.
Daddy…
His eyes ached as he held back tears. He had to be strong! The tiny frame moved, feet heavy, but pounding again.
Vampire…
The sound of the feet behind him, a quick pace. The rush of fear as he ran harder. He had to be quicker. He had to be stronger.
"Run little boy, run, run, run! You won't catch him, you won't catch him now!" the cold voice sang, laughing.
Mommy…
The front door to the house, so close.
Daddy…
Trembling, he pushed it open.
Vampire…
Red.
So much red.
Everywhere.
Nothing but red paint and meat.
Mommy… Daddy… Vampire…
"Awww, he caught you, little boy. Do you know what they do to little boys?" the cold voice chuckled right behind him.
Vampire…
~
He woke in a cold sweat, body freezing and shivering under a heavy quilt. The room was dark.
"…Malik…" he whispered softly, the one word that came with that name. Vampire.
So long since he had had those memories.
Since that day.
Every night relived in his head until he had started taking the prescription medicine, and then had stopped when he finally drowned the memories under dust and sand and happy thoughts. Tinker Bell bites back.
"It's the same. The same…"
Violet eyes blinked, looking around. He was in a bed, but not his bed, not his room. He couldn't see much, there was no light on. He looked around his body. He didn't have his watch on, and the back of his right hand hurt. He touched his hand and felt plastic and a bit of a jab. A needle? Finger tips found another piece of plastic and a jab. Two needles?
His memory was so hazy; dimly he felt an ache in his forehead. He hit his head?
"…what did I… Yami… vampire…" he frowned; there were gaps in his mind. Something about Yami and vampire.
No, the word vampire. Not… not vampire.
"Okay, assessment. Name, Yugi Motouh. Occupation, teacher. History, conveniently deleted from all records. Family, grandpa. Side notes, protector for high school. Most recent memory…"
He blushed. "Ohh, sex. With… Yami." He frowned. "Why would I have sex with someone if I thought of their name and vampire in the same thought?" he frowned, summoning up more memory, it was like there was something trying to push the memories back. He felt his eyes shinning as he pushed at the block. A psychic attack?
Yugi chuckled. All he had to do was concentrate and he could get rid of any blocks. The blocks shattered but he had to pull the memories back piece by piece.
"Okay, sex, much of it; what a horny rabbit." He coughed. "Right, so, fell asleep in cupboard. Ow, no wonder I have a headache… wait, if I fell asleep in the cupboard I would be in my house and Yami…"
His chest gave a sharp ache as the memories came back.
He checked his flesh.
It was smooth and unbroken… no bandages. "That's odd. My chest had a wound on it. It would take a while for that to heal…"
Worry began to eat at him. "Just how long have I been asleep?" He shook his head. "Not the time for that, recent memory…"
"Okay, okay, woke up, stretched out. Hehe, he's not a first dark kind of guy. Sorta deserves it though, waking me up so early." He cocked his head, as if listening, but he was just searching for the next thing that happened.
There was a deathly silence throughout the place he was in. The silence was… unusual.
"Proposition of a shower, mmhmm, bet it didn't get to much cleaning, wait, going up the stairs… asked something… what was it…?"
He frowned. There were sharp jabbing pains in his chest, and he felt a need to start crying. Emotional ache? Why?
"Gotta concentrate now, kick those psychic blocks out. And kill whoever tried to piece them up… unless I told them too, in that case, why would I want to forget stuff?" he could almost see the glow in his eyes as he pulled at the memories.
There was a brief moment in which he thought; if I pull so hard they may all flood over me in a rush. This could be confusing and uncomfortable if there were emotional pain involved. And then he pulled too hard.
"Was he a vampire? Said yes, bad, bad, bad thing, aching chest, very surprised, he looked sad, fell back and I fainted, I FAINTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STAIRS? Itai! Woke up, very pissed, no before that, pain in head, after that, woke up, drugs. Oh god, drugs that could be difficult to this." He shoved the onslaught back, feeling tears on his cheeks, but it was a little distant, the pain. He was sure it would get worse if he let it.
Yugi felt around for the needles on his hand and ripped them out. There were only two, and there had been three according to his memory, so there was a possibility he had gone spaz and Yami had taken the drugs away. Which was…
He frowned, searching the memories again and aligning them, replaying events. "Oh, did go spaz. Nuts, that's always so embarrassing. Right, umm, did right thing, tried to leave. Where on earth AM I? priests? Wait, before that… OI! He grabbed me. And it hurt too… but there aren't any injuries on me. How long was I asleep? He put me to sleep? HOW FUCKING OLD IS HE? Ohh, saw something on news. Shit, he lied about that? Wait, no? nope, he did."
Yugi held his head, as if his brain were pouring out. "Kami-sama, my head hurts from all these questions…" he sighed and sat up.
At least he wasn't strapped down. That would have made sitting hard.
Now, he needed to go home, get his gun, kill Yami, move house and mark some overdue work.
Well, it would have to be overdue, his body was working.
His body working was good and bad at the same time. Good because it meant he'd probably succeed in killing Yami, bad because it meant he'd been asleep a long, long, long time.
"Two weeks at the least… several years at the most. Kuso."
He mopped the tears from his face with a bare hand and noticed he was naked. When he'd first woken up here, hadn't he been wearing pants?
"What kind of sick perverted son of a bitch…" He started, he stopped. "Why am I swearing so much? Ohh, I'm upset? But that doesn't explain much…" he blinked, there was also an odd absence of the little voice in the back of his head, wait, nope, it was too confused to be doing much.
He looked around but he couldn't see clothing just floating in the air. He was both glad and annoyed. Floating clothing was always slightly disturbing.
Had someone been peeping on him? Yugi shuddered. High ones, there was a strong chance they'd been doing more than just peeping.
"Ack, nice scalding shower when I get home and call to doctors to get my prescription back. I can't believe this. I'd just gotten back to having normal if no dreams, and now this kind of thing happens. Kami." He slipped off the bed cautiously, feeling around the room until he came up with a desk. Yugi smiled as he opened the desk drawer and brought out a pair of white pants and slippers. He usually hated white, but he'd make an exception in this case because it was all he would get for the time being.
After donning the clothing he went about finding a door, using his newly acquired memory to figure out where it was. He pulled on the door. It didn't open.
He breathed out, remembering to push before he broke it; it was always stupid when you bashed the door open instead of simply opening it by trying the other way.
The door opened. Yugi chuckled. He could have just made a total ass of himself if he hadn't remembered to push before breaking.
Pull, push then break, said the little voice at the back of his head.
Yugi stepped into a hallway that only had a glowing 'exit' sign to illuminate it. Well, Yugi figured it was a hallway, as he walked he found himself occasionally bumping wood. He didn't want to know what he was walking through, he just kept walking until he came to the exit, there was a door, but it was bolted.
He took a deep breath and searched for the bolts, finding the bottom one and pulling it up. The bolt made a loud creaking sound. Yugi winced. Here's hoping there were no day time keepers.
He swallowed as he made a jump for the top bolt. He missed. It was almost a full body height above him. Yugi swore softly. This could be embarrassing if he didn't manage to open the door before whatever was in the wooden boxes woke up.
He swallowed back panic and made a few more jumps. He brushed the metal with his fingers. It was times like these he wished he was a wizard.
Yugi took two steps back and ran up, jumping and grabbing the bolt. There was a thunk and a click before the door swung open. Yugi fell down, scraping his elbow on the door as he did so.
"Itai. Stupid tall people are gonna be the end of me." He muttered. He turned, looking back into the room and shuddering before he slipped out the door.
It was a giant hall, and lots of wooden coffins were all over the floor, he'd seen a glimpse of a single freaking stone sarcophagus and that had been enough. He locked the door after him and nursed his bleeding elbow.
It was day, but from the look of it, it was almost night. Yugi shivered more. If he hadn't of made that jump…
He looked around. For all he could see he was in a parking lot of a factory. There was one bike parked and he recognized it as Yami's Ninja.
He was sorely tempted to steal it, but the thought made him feel sick. Actually, he was beginning to feel pretty sick. This was odd…
The tricoloured haired boy knelt, feeling his eyes glowing as something attached to him psychically protested.
If he would just go back in, Yami would make everything alright…
Yugi groaned, his hands going in front of him for support.
His stomach was about to heave.
Yugi moaned, screaming at the psychic lock. His eyes were burning as he mentally smashed the suggestions.
He coughed up blood.
The sight made him freeze, letting more blood cough up from his stomach.
The pavement was covered in blood by the time Yugi had finally broken the psychic lock.
"Kami… how strong… to be able to hide something like that in my head…"
His eyesight was flickering and Yugi growled. He had to get out of here! It was getting dangerously close to night. There was no time to faint from exhaustion!
There was a pay phone not to far away.
Yugi swallowed down bile and got up. He felt weak, but he wasn't about to throw up any more blood. This was good because he didn't really enjoy the taste of his own blood.
He walked steadily to the phone, picking it up and dialing Jounouchi's mobile from memory. Telling the operator it was reverse charges.
The phone rang four times before Jou picked up.
"Moshi Moshi?" Came the elf's voice.
"Jou-kun. It's Yugi. I need your help."
"Holy shit! Yugi-kun! You've been missing for two months. Where the hell have you been? I thought you were dead!"
Yugi swallowed. Two months? Shimatta. "I'm alive, and coughing up blood, but I'm fine. Listen, I need a lift before night fall, some serious weapons and a place to crash for the night. Tomorrow I have to move house and kill a vampire, pick up my medication and mark essays. Can you help me, Jou-kun?"
He could practically hear his friend swallow down his requests. "Sure, you know me, Yugi-kun. I'm not gonna leave you hanging. I'll pick you up now. Where are you? Explain everything when I get to you, but time is of the essence, right?"
Yugi nodded and then remembered Jou couldn't see it. "Yeah. I'm at…" He looked around for a road sign. "Even Corner. Outside a big warehouse. The place is packed with vampires."
He heard Jou write the address down. "I'll be there as soon as possible with some weapons."
"Arigato Jou-kun." The tricoloured haired teacher said.
Jou laughed. "No problem. It's always so quiet here without you."
Yugi managed a soft laugh. "Please hurry."
They hung up. Yugi dialed the operator and got the number for his doctor. He arranged to pick the tablets up in two hours. It was a good thing his doctor knew how important the tablets were. Or that Yugi would actually kill to get away from the nightmares.
Yugi sank down, sitting on the edge of the pavement. It was so close to night. His elbow was scabbed. It would be a bitch to disinfect.
His mind flashed on the time when Yami had kissed him to distract him from realizing he was putting the antiseptic on.
Fresh tears sprung to his eyes and he wiped them away quickly.
Yugi's chest hurt as the dagger in his heart twisted.
Jou's car rounded the corner just as night set in.
Yugi ran forward, smiling in relief.
There was a moment in which Jou's smile stopped and he looked behind Yugi; Yugi realized he was in deep shit, before he was suddenly pinned to the ground under a heavy, darkly dressed form.
"Yugi-kun. You are so annoying. You simply can't stay in one place, can you? How the fuck did you wake up before nighttime? And what did you do to get the door open? Your blood was everywhere. You go out here and managed to get the mental block off… what the hell is wrong with you?" Yami's cold voice hissed at him. Disapproval floated in the tones.
Yugi could hear Jou's car stop and the elf got out.
"Who the fuck are you!?! Get off Yugi!"
The human was pressed far too nicely into the pavement to struggle but he managed to yell.
"Jou-kun! Careful! He's able to roll me under!"
Above him, Yami growled.
"Elf, this isn't your business, go away."
Jou snorted, feet crunching on the gravel as he approached. The sound of the safety clicking off his gun made Yugi's heart beat faster. Jou was used to machine guns… he wasn't used to having to aim carefully.
"It's my business if he calls for help. Off him, vamp. I don't care what kind of deal you've made. By the Lore of Hades you cannot attack him if he asks help from one of the Fae folk."
Yugi shivered when Yami laughed, a pale hand caressed Yugi's bare back tenderly… Yugi realllly needed to flay his own skin off. "I'm not attacking him, elf. Ask him yourself. Where he's been for the past two months."
"Yugi-kun?" Jou's voice asked unsteadily.
Yugi was slightly perplexed. What was the Lore of Hades? Jou's voice snapped him back to reality. "I don't know where I've been for the past two months. I woke up naked in there." One finger gestured to the building.
Jou laughed softly, Yugi could tell he was aiming at Yami. "You must be pretty strong to keep him unconscious for two months."
Yami growled again. "Obviously not strong enough for him to wake for a five hundred year sleep after two months."
Jou whistled under his breath, obviously impressed. "I suppose, but the amount of psychic shields he has… It would have been so hard to just keep him unconscious for two hours let alone two months. You must be ancient."
Yugi sighed; his chest was hurting because of the painful ground. Stupid immortal creatures; always talking weirdly.
"Jou-kun, could you just shoot him and let me up? This is kinda painful for me." He huffed.
Jou coughed. "Oh, right. Anyway, like he said, let him up or I pump you full of lead."
Yami sneered, releasing some of the pressure from Yugi's body and rolling the boy over.
Yugi groaned when the scab on his elbow reopened. "Owww. Goddamnit, you stupid vamp! I'm gonna lose more blood than I have if I keep shedding it-"
Yami kissed him delicately on the mouth. Lips brushing over Yugi's lips gently; cool velvety flesh sliding familiarly against warm rose petals.
Yugi was too shocked to do more than blink.
Why was Yami kissing him?
The vampire whispered to him as he drew back, only loud enough for Yugi to hear. "I don't give up the people I love, Yugi-kun."
Yami turned his plum eyes upward, meeting Jou's eyes. "Fire at will, elf. I'm not letting you take him." He challenged.
Yugi's chest constricted painfully before Yami's body covered his own.
Jou's gun began firing.
One of the bullets thunked into the ground so close to Yugi's head that it made the small form jump, he couldn't struggle very well, the sound of lead sinking into Yami's flesh was sickening; and he was right under the pale form. If Jou missed…
Oh Kami… he thought, this was so wrong…
Yami… how can he say he loves me? Yugi's mind whirled. They'd only known each other for eh…. Two months, but it felt more like four or five days!
Yami made a hiss as three more bullets sank into his back.
He had to be ancient to stand so many shots straight into him. Any other vampire would be dead by now.
Jou's gun clicked empty and Yami rose in fluid motions, form blurring as he launched himself at the elf.
"Jounouchi!!!!" Yugi screamed as his best friend fell to one side, Yami's plum eyes glowing murder.
"Jounouchi-sensei!" A soft voice yelled.
Yugi's head snapped up, looking at Jou's car. Bakura and Ryo were in the back seat and the panther was already half out of the car, running forward to lend a hand. Half man half beast already. Ryo's form was changing as well, ears sprouting on his head.
The elf made a half scream as one arm was broken. Jounouchi was wrestling pretty well; considering he didn't possess much in the way of inhuman strength. Twisting and kicking to stop the vampire getting any vocal spots.
Bakura ran forward, blurring with supernatural speed as he pulled the vampire away, literally throwing Yami across the road, straight into the phone booth.
Yugi swallowed as he stood, watching Yami fearfully, the vampire seemed to be trying to regain his senses.
Yugi felt himself growing cold. He couldn't see it, but judging from the shifters reactions there was magic brewing in the air.
In his chest his heart pounded. Icicle daggers twisting in his heart. Yami…
Bakura growled, his clothing was hanging from him in shreds, body covered in thick white fur, the only thing that was still on him were a pair of boxers with little flowers on them.
"Motouh-sensei! Get in the car."
Yugi looked up, meeting Ryo's eyes with a nod; he'd give them detention later for coming after him. The teacher scrambled to get up, running toward the vehicle.
Eveidently, the magic choose to hit just before he reached the door.
~ To be continued…
Sweet notes: *cackles evilly* Ohh, that was funnnn. I know what happens next, but I thought it would be sooooo fun to leave it there. *evil, vampiric laughter* Reviews???? Oh, and next chapter, the truth about Yugi's little voice shall be revealed. There will be bloodshed too…. And blood soaked Yugi-ness. And for more details read below.
Yugi: I'm going to kill her!! *lunges*
Yami: Ack! Nu! We won't get to have sex again if she dies! *restrains*
Jounouchi: Ow… you're so horrible, Sweetdeily. You know how painful breaking a bone is????
Bakura: Wheeeee!!! I'm so pretty!!
Ryo: … nice undies.
Bakura: Eeep. *blushes and hides* I'm going to kill you all with my Dark Powers ™.
Malik: I feel so left out… and what's with me and Yugi's parent's and… Kami, would you lot STOP with the parent killer thing, I mean, when was the last time YOU went completely bonkers *looks at Sweetdeily*… forget I asked that.
Seto: Yeah! I've only had ONE chapter! ONE! When do I show up again?
Sweetdeily: *shoves them back in her already overflowing wardrobe* Hush, hush meine merswienchen!
Bakura: I'm a panther, NOT an ocean pig small.
Ryo: I think she meant the more practical application of calling us her guinea pigs.
Bakura: We don't want to know, do we?
Sweetdeily: No, now shut up and go hump something! *closes wardrobe door and locks it* Now, About the next chapter, there will be Malik/Yugi implications and possibly rape implications too. But I don't know; I'm sorta being forced to write what the characters want, which is pissing me off because they seem to enjoy fighting… Yugi is just so gothic with his 'I invented angst' attitude. *giggles* but he's doing a good job with the silliness.
Wardrobe: *sweatdrops and grumbles*
Sweetdeily: Anyway, so yeah. Review and tell me your thoughts so far. The thicker the review (bigger) the better for my inspiration.
