Bakura was working at his `job.' Sure the title wasn't respected, but at least the pay was decent….
`Let's see,' he thought to himself, `the guy said to make a left here, and then turn right at the next breaking off point.'
So far the directions seemed accurate, nothing bad had befallen him, but he had an uneasy feeling. It was too easy. There was always a trap. He had yet to stumble upon one, and thanks to his amazing abilities, he was able to roughly calculate the area inside of a pyramid until you came to the burial room, he knew he must be getting close to the center of the tomb, where treasures awaited. He made the final left, and saw a door before him. He breathed a prayer of thanks; the wick of his candle was growing dangerously thin. He opened the door, and cautiously made his way across the threshold, slowly putting one foot before the next, waiting five seconds before actually putting weight on the foot. He would gradually place the pressure onto the foot, keeping his eyes, and ears open in case something happened. You had to have amazing sense of hearing and awesome vision, and above all, you must have reflexes like a cat. Bakura had all that and more, thus giving him the unofficial title of Egypt's Master Thief, but recently things had been rough for Egypt's Thief Master. Lately he was lucky to eat at night. Recently pickings had become slim, and security around tombs increased dramatically. That was why he was so suspicious tonight. It wasn't right, he didn't know why, but it just wasn't. He slowly placed another foot down. His eyes glittered in the candle light; he could see tons of gold. Damn, this place was LOADED!!!! He was excited, but didn't make the mistake of throwing caution to the wind. Instead he slowly moved forward, until he was right in front of the stash of gold. If he had thought for a second, he might have wondered why all this gold and precious stones were just piled in a corner, but he didn't and that was a mistake which would cost him. He noticed that his candle was flickering, and he realized that it was almost out of wick, and he knew once the fire had consumed the entire wick, that the light would die. He worked fast, loading his cloak with gold, silver, and jewels. The candle began to sputter, and he knew he had to leave now, before the candlelight disappeared. Pausing to slip a particularly beautiful ring onto his finger, where he knew it would stay, he turned to leave, walking to the east wall where the man had told him there was an alternate exit that took you out of the pyramid immediately. As the man had told him, it was there, he pressed the particular tile, and a door appeared. He was exiting the pyramid when he was plunged into velvety darkness. Fortunately, he could see the moon, which happened to be full, through the slits in the walls. He was guided out of the pyramid in this way. Failing entirely to see the guards, their shiny armor glinting in the moonlight. He was therefore quite surprised when a hand clamped over his mouth, and a man grabbed him roughly.
