Ch. 6: Sunrise
-Yugi's POV-
I came across this huge room with a thin bridge, which had an endless pit below it. Well, maybe not endless, maybe there are spikes down there, or some kind of dark magic. But I knew that it couldn't be that simple. When I took a step, I felt a button being pushed down than a huge scythe came quickly. Soon I counted at least five of six scythes going back and forth. “Now what?” I asked myself as I looked at these huge, sharp, death traps going back and forth… back and forth. `It … almost sounds like… a tempo!' I thought hearing the beat.

“Well, looks like I know how we could get through this without any of us being chopped into pieces.” I said as I took a deep breath. I closed my eyes and listened to the scythes grinding the ground. And, as crazy as it sounded, I took a step towards the danger zone. I imagined myself in a ballroom scene in a play carrying a Christmas gift. I kept going on as the `tempo' became faster, pretty soon I forgot that I was risking my life as I spinned around the area. Soon it stopped.

I opened my eyes and looked at the mummy, which was still in one piece. “Looks like we made it.” I said as I looked at the bridge, which didn't have those scythe things anymore, but I saw lots of cut up hair. I traced my hand to the top of my head to my back. My hair is now down pass my shoulders. “People did tell me to get it cut.” I said and it was true.

My grandpa said that I was going to trip over because my hair touched the floor. Atem convinced me to at least cut my bangs so it could frame my face. I sighed and continued to walk with a mummy in my arms. I noticed that there was a bend at the neck part. `Must've happened when `Bakura' was dragging it.' I thought when I realized something. `Wait a sec. What if that Bakura-look-alike's name wasn't Bakura?' I shook my head. “It doesn't matter now, so why worry?”

I walked into another room with a bridge, but this one had the open sarcophagus. “Found your resting spot.” I said as I looked around for any trap-triggers or something the like. I started walking across the bridge and had this strange feeling that I was being watched, but I kept walking to the end. That's when I felt hot breath at the back of my neck. I slowly turned to see only a glimpse of black smoke disappearing. `What was that?' I thought as I looked back at the task at hand.

I placed the mummy in the sarcophagus and fixed the bent neck with my ripped out sleeves. “Good as new!” I said, admiring my work. But it was a pain getting the lid back on. The thing almost weighed a ton and I'm not physically strong on the upper strength. After what seemed like an hour, I finally managed to get the lid back on and collapsed to the side. “Now, you can rest.” I said between a few pants.

As I sat there, I thought about how I'm able to get out. `What's the use? I'm stuck here.' I thought as I looked at the dark bridge. `Atem…' I held onto the necklace he gave me. `I wish this was a dream… so I could wake up to see you and saying if I was okay and it was just a dream.' I cried. I cry a lot, but that's because I have a lot of emotions running around right now.

-Normal POV-
Unknown to her, an orb appeared from the sarcophagus and materialized into a human form. “Why so down?” He asked, making Yugi jump to her feet. He laughed. “You're a timid one.”

“You're the Pharaoh, right?” Yugi asked as she thought. `I don't believe it! He looks exactly like Papa Aki!'

“Indeed I am.” Akhenamkhanen said. “And, from what I see, you're giving up, after going all the trouble to place my body back to where it should be.” He patted the sarcophagus.

Yugi smiled timidly. “Well… a body is not suppose to be removed from the tomb for any reason.” She said.

“You're very thoughtful young woman.” He said, making her blush.

“Everyone says that.”

“Well they speak the truth.” He said. “That's why the gods permitted me to return to help you.”

Yugi looked at him with wide eyes. “Really?”

He laughed. “Of course! Why did you think I came here for? Amuse you to death?”

Yugi slightly laughed. “That does sound pointless.”

He walked around the sarcophagus and up to a wall covered in hieroglyphics. He mentioned her over, which she did, and pointed to a part of wall. “Press here, it will lead to a hallway that will take you outside.”

“No traps?”

He laughed. “None young one.”

She pressed the wall and waited for the wall to completely reveal the dark hallway. “Thank you so much!” She said.

“Thank you… Oh! I never asked for your name, have I?”

She smiled. “It's Yugi, Yugi Mouto.”

He laughed once more than said. “Would you do me a favor?”

“Sure.”

He bent down to her level. “Find a way to get into the palace and tell my son this… `Justice is in the name of the gods'.”

Yugi nodded. “Okay, but where is the palace?”

Akhenamkhanen patted her shoulder. “Don't worry, fate is on your side.” With that he disappeared.

“W-Wait!” Yugi called.

“Justice is in the name of the gods! Remember that Yugi!”

-Yugi's POV-
I sighed as I nodded and walked down the dark hallway. `What on earth does that mean?' I thought as I shivered. `Wait…' I felt a breeze, which means… I ran till I found a crack, which amazingly I could fit through. I got out just in time to see the sunrise. “Wow…” I said in awe as I watched the bright light coming up from the horizon. `It's been so long since I saw the sunrise.' I thought as I remembered one time not so long ago.

^Flashback^
One morning, during summer vacation, I woke up feeling a cold morning breeze. I looked to see that the window in my room was open. “Atem-kun?” I said as I poked my head out and saw him sitting there.

“Morning Yugi.” He said with a smile.

“Why are you up here?” I asked as I carefully crawled up to sit next to him, since the roof is at an angle.

“Watching the sunrise.”

At that moment, we looked over when the light caught our attention. “It's beautiful.” I said.

“You should see it in Egypt, it's like you're in a whole other world.”
^End of Flashback^

“You were right.” I said as silent tears came down my face. `I miss you.' I thought as I wondered if anyone knew I was missing.

~Modern Era: Egypt~
Atem was on the edge of one of the cliffs, watching the sunrise while remembering that time. “Did you see the sunrise where you are?” He said as he placed his hand over his heart. `I can sense you, even though you're not here.' He thought as he took out a photo of Yugi in a Christmas pageant dressed as an angel.

^Flashback^
-Atem's POV-
“You're gonna be great!” I said. I was around twelve then.

“But I'm so nervous Atem!” She said looking at the people that were getting their seats.

“Hey, hey,” I said getting her attention. “If you're so nervous, you can always look for me.”

“But it will be so dark! How will I be able to find you?”

I smiled. “I think you'll be able to find me, no problem.”

“But-“ She was about to say when I placed a finger on her lips.

“Just do it like at the game shop.” I said. “You're going to be great, Tenshi.”

She blushed as the teacher called her up for make-up and stuff.

“I'll see you from the audience than.” I said, but I didn't move until I couldn't see her and I found my father and Grandpa Mouto sitting and talking excitedly about Yugi's performance. I would have been up there with her, but the teacher told my father I was really talented, but the girls were distracted and had to drop the lesson. The whole room became dark and the curtains were lifted.

The first thing I saw was Yugi, she was in the front row with a fake candle in her hand. Her eyes where closed and there was a smile, soft and delicate. She looked so much like a glass doll up there. She and the others started to sing a few notes, than Yugi stepped up, and sang her solo. The light showed the glitter perfectly, giving a glow, more like a real angel. I stole that picture with my camera phone, since I thought it was so beautiful. When her part ended, everyone clapped and cheered as they bowed and the curtain slowly dropped.

I was the first to go up to her before my father and Grandpa Mouto could. “You were amazing!”

She blushed. “I saw you.” She said as she smiled at me. “I saw your eyes and knew it was you.”

I smiled. “Told you so!” We both laughed.
^End of Flashback^

I cried at eh memory. Her voice, after a few years, still is clear as a bell in my mind. “Yugi… P-Please come back… Please come back.”

`Everything carries me
Irresistibly to you, like the wind
Everything connects me
Irresistibly to you, I feel it

Like the day returning after night
And it's always sunny after rain
Like a bird returning to its nest
That with my love, I go too

Everything carries me
Irresistibly to you, in that instant
Everything connects me
Irresistibly to you, I feel it

Like the sea hitting the rocks
Obstinately without ever ceasing
By misfortune we are always hitting
But love alone can save us

Like pleasure after tears
After winter returns the flower weather
At the moment where we believe that all has died
Love returns with a great victory

Everything carries me
Irresistibly to you, like the wind
Everything connects me
Irresistibly to you, I feel it.'
