Atem: You're on a roll.
I know! *door knocks* Who could that be? *hears the door being knocked over*

Ch. 7: God's Servant Dance
The sun blazed within the morning, but Yugi walked along the river, where some palm trees and reeds as tall as her gave out some shade. Her stomach growled loudly and sighed.
-Yugi's POV-
`I'm so hungry.' I thought as I looked around the area, which I found nothing. I sighed and continued to walk while trying to ignore my stomach. `What do I do for food?' I thought. `I know they traded, but…' I sighed. `I don't have anything to trade.'
“Watch out!” Someone called and I looked up, and a ball hit my face.
“Ow!” I said as I picked up the ball.
“Are you okay lady?”
I looked up to see a couple of kids. “Yes, I'm fine.” I said as I handed the ball to them. “Is this yours?”
“Yes.” A young boy said. “Thank you.”
“No problem.” I said as my stomach reminded me of my need of food.
“Are you hungry miss?” The young girl asked.
“A bit.” My stomach disagreed.
“Sounds like a lot.” The boy said.
I managed a small laugh as I followed the children down along side the river.
“Where you from miss?” The boy asked.
“A long, long way from here.” I said, slightly nervous. `I didn't think about that!' I thought as we caught sight of a camp.
“Momma! Momma!” The girl called, not realizing that there was a crocodile.
“Tale!” The boy called, but the crocodile got her leg.
She started to scream and fuss.
Luckily I remember a survival tip and plugged the crocodile's nostrils. “Don't move! Stay completely still!” I told her.
She stood completely still while tears ran down her face. Everyone stood, waiting for what was going to happen. Than the crocodile opened its mouth, letting Tale limp away to the group, and I high tailed out of there before the oversized reptile took another chop.
I sighed in relief than two arms wrapped around my neck.
“Thank you! Thank you!” The woman cried.
Soon everyone was congratulating me for saving the girl's life. `Wow. Egyptians are really friendly.' I thought as they showed me their camp. I learned that they were traveling dancers and they were heading towards the palace. I asked if I tagged along and they said yes, since I saved a member of their group.
“Do you dance young miss?” A woman asked after a late breakfast.
“A little.” I said, than I heard music started to play.
“Come, show us your dance.” The woman said.
“I'm really not that good!” I said.
“Don't worry, we will help you.”
I took a deep breath as I got up. `What should I dance? I only know one Egyptian dance, and it's hard!' I thought. `Although…' I listened to the rhythm. `This music makes a very good beat.' I remembered the steps to the dance Atem taught me. I even imagined myself back at his apartment learning the steps. Soon I was lost in my own world, where it's only me and Atem. When the music stopped, I opened my eyes to see shocked faces. “Did I do something wrong?” I asked.
“No…” The leader of the group said. “You were brilliant.”
I blushed.
“In fact, if we leave now, we may have spare time to get you ready.”
Before I could ask, everyone was quickly packing up and heading out. I played with the children all the way to the palace, since no one wants to answer my question.
When we arrived to the city, it was so amazing! Everyone was so friendly here.
“Come on! Come on!” The children chanted as we went up to the palace gates, which were huge stone doors that took more than twenty strong men to open it and close it. We entered though the gates and the children had to close my jaw because it was wide open.
“Come on! We have to get you ready!” One of the women said as they dragged me to a set up tent.
“Wait! What's going on?” I asked as they started to measure me.
“Hold still dear.” The woman said as the other women finished measuring. “What colors do you like dear?”
I didn't know what to say… except. “Why am I being fitted? And what's going on?”
The woman looked at me with praising eyes. “You're going to present your dance in front of the Pharaoh.”
I was about to say something when the woman continued.
“You wanted to come to the palace and we're running out of supplies for our clan.” She held my hands in hers. “I know this sounds cruel, but we would have to trade you for our survival.”
I looked at her and nodded my understanding.
“Besides.” She continued. “You don't belong with us nor the desert.”
`That kinda makes sense.' I thought.
“The palace shall be your new home, but only if you do the God's Servant dance.”
“The God's Servant dance?”
“Yes. The one you did.”
I was speechless.
“Now, what colors do you like?”
~Sometime later~
I found one of the palace gardens and decided to stay there awhile. The women gave me a white gown to wear instead of my torn pajamas. I could tell that one guard has an eye on me, in case I'm trouble, but I didn't care. That's when I heard someone.
“But Master!” It was a girl's voice.
I looked over to find the voice's owner as well as a tall male, probably no older than Seto.
“No Mana, You are still no advance enough to learn how to summon your ka.”
“But-“
“No, and that's final.” The man said as a guard came up and seemed to have told him something, because both of them left, leaving the girl, Mana, stomping over to where I was.
She looked up at me with a minor shocked expression. “Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone was here.” She said.
“That's okay.” I said and offered a spot for her to sit down, which she did. “It's probably none of my business, but, may I ask what was all that about?” I asked. The one thing everyone, back home, seem to know is that I'm polite, too polite for my own good.
She sighed. “It's just something I want to learn, but he thinks I'm not good enough yet to know.”
“What is it that you want to learn, may I ask?”
“To summon a ka, and don't be so formal.”
“Sorry. What's that? The ka I mean.”
“You're new around here?”
I smiled. “Yes.”
She looked at me for a moment than said. “The pale skin was probably a dead give away, huh?”
I laughed. “Yes. I'm surprised you didn't act strange about it.”
“Well I didn't notice that until I took a moment.” We both laughed. It felt nice having someone to talk to, especially when you're a thousand years and miles away from home.
“So, what's a ka?” I asked, finding strange that you could summon your spirit when you're alive.
“It's a spirit of the ba, or soul.”
“Really?” I said.
“Uh huh, but the ka shows if the creature of the person is good or bad.”
“Creature?”
“A monster that's used in a game only the palace priests and the Pharaoh could play.”
“Duel Monsters?”
“That's it!” She said. “You're really are out of town.”
`Or out of time and country.' I thought with a laugh. “Yeah, I'm pretty much new to everything here.”
“Don't worry.” She said patting my shoulder. “I'll help you settle here and the Pharaoh too, when he has the time.”
“You know the Pharaoh?”
“Yeah! I'm one of his closet friends!”
“Is he nice?”
She looked at me kinda funny. “Yeah he's nice, as long as you don't do something he doesn't like.”
“Like what?”
“Like lying, betraying, and cheating.”
I nodded. “I know how that feels.”
“Something like that happened to you?”
“When I was little.” It was true. Anzu and I made a promise to be friends forever… until she broke it.
“So, what are you here for?” Mana asked.
“I'm a last minute dancer for a clan.”
“Really? What kind of dance?”
“It's called-“
“There you are!” One of the women found me. “Come on! We have to get you ready!” She grabbed my wrist and started to pull me.
“Nice to meet you!” Mana said. “See you later than?”
I nodded and called. “Later than!” We both waved as I turned the corner.
~Minutes later~
My eyes were closed throughout the whole dress and make-up thing.
“Okay dear, you may open your eyes.”
I did and I looked at the mirror in front of me. I couldn't believe it! My outfit had red and violets, my favorite colors, some silver jewelry. There was a small amount of make-up on me, but I rather have that amount than a lot. I even noticed that my hair was shorter. It wasn't short-short, but it wasn't shoulder length either. It was somewhat spiky in the back, but it was soft kind and not dramatic.
“You look amazing dear.” The woman said as the others agreed.
The children came in and were amazed. “Wow! You look like a princess!” Said one girl. “More like a queen!” Said a boy. “She's more like a goddess.” Said an older girl.
I blushed. “I'm not that amazing.” I said which outraged the children.
“ARE YOU BLIND?!!” “You're better look'n dan the other girls in the palace!” “The Pharaoh would have to be out of his mind if he didn't choose you!”
I don't think I've blushed so hard that day.
“All right all of you, out you go!” Said a woman, who was shooing the children out.
I looked at myself again and noticed that the necklace that Atem gave me was in its tear drop form. I opened it up and that almost made the outfit look lighter. `Like the sunset.' I thought when the women hurried me out of the tent. I laughed when the children kept commenting about how I look. When I looked up at the palace, I would have sworn I saw the familiar eyes looking down at me. But before I could confirm it, the children started to push me along the entrance. I looked at the spot again, only to see that the person was gone.
~Short time later~
I waited patiently for my turn to perform, since I've become the main attraction.
“You're up next.” Said the old woman. “Do your best.”
I nodded as I took a few deep breaths. Its not that I felt nervous, I was just afraid I'll mess up. I went back to my memory on that night where Atem congratulated on my dance. How he held and spinned me around and telling me I'm amazing and a quick learner.
“Alright now!” The old woman said and I felt ready, but cautious.
I held my head slightly down as I walked out to the center of the floor, keeping my eyes on the ground. I have to be respectful after all. I took one more deep breath and closed my eyes as I heard the music play. The music started out soft, calming, making my movements act like a little warm-up for the first few gods. Than it went quicker, making my movements tight and tense, showing that theses were the serious gods that you don't want to mess with. It than went a little softer, but it was still quick in pace, showing the next few gods that can easily forgive you. Than came the final god, Ra. This move was tricky, even to an advanced dancer, because it has to be completely perfect! I spinned in place three times, without loosing balance, arched my back and spinned upright. I put my hands into a `lotus' position over my head, as if I was praying for forgiveness, and slowly moved down to a pray kneel, with my right knee down and my left foot showing, before bowing. Than, when the music stopped, I heard foot steps coming towards me, but I dare not look up. I'm trying to be respectful, especially in this time and place.
“You may rise.”
I heard an elderly voice that sounded `exactly' like my grandpa's! But I rose to my feet and not look at him in the eye; keeping my gaze down to the ground.
“It's okay to look at me child.”
I did and it took a lot of holding back my happiness to see that the elder is exactly like my grandpa!
“You've done a superb performance and we're more than pleased to let you stay with us at the palace.”
I blushed and bowed in my Japanese style. “Thank you very much.” I said, making the elder laugh.
“For a child you're certainly act proper.”
“I'm seventeen sir.”
“Pardon?”
“I'm seventeen, actually.” I saw his dumbstruck face and I couldn't help but giggle. “Don't look surprised sir, I get it all the time.” I said. It's true, with my height and my child-like face, people would suspect me as being twelve.
The elder laughed as well. “Well that's good to know!” One guard came up and waited till he was noticed. “Yes?”
“Lord Siamun, the Pharaoh has asked me to bring her to her room.”
“Oh, yes, you must be very tired from all the excitement.” Siamun said to me.
“Nerve racking.” I said, making him laugh more. He acts so much like Grandpa, fun, full of humor, and switches off from being serious for a few seconds than just being normal till he starts the cycle again. Kinda made me feel a little homesick. `At least I know one friendly face in this time.' I thought as I followed the guard out of the room, but not before I heard another guard coming in.
“My Pharaoh, shall we proceed with the court?”
“Very well.”
I would've stopped right there and turned, but I knew better and told myself it wasn't possible. `It's not him, so don't you dare start getting your hopes up!' I thought bitterly, which made me feel sad, but I didn't want to start crying, not now at least. I found myself looking at a door when I finally looked up.
“This shall be your room by the Pharaoh's order.”
“Order?” I asked looking up at the guard.
He nodded. “Apparently, your performance today has allowed you to have a room of your own and not over at the dancers wing.”
I was shocked to hear that. `Atem wasn't kidding about the dance!' I thought as I remembered what he said.
“I know that if you get this routine down right, and in front of the Pharaoh, you're considered to be honored.”
I walked into the room and I would have fainted right then and there.
The room was huge compared to my old room! The walls, floors, and ceiling is all made of stone, like the palace, but the walls had hieroglyphs on life on the river. On one side of the room was a canopy bed that's big enough to fit three people. Another side has a desk with a mirror. Everything else was spacious.
“Is it okay with you?” The guard asked.
“I… Yes, this is okay.” I said.
He nodded. “I will leave you to rest. The Pharaoh would like to speak with you in the morning.”
I nodded as he closed the door. I looked around the room again, wondering what to do next. There was an outside balcony and I decided to look out. The scenery in the evening was beautiful. I placed my hand over the necklace and sighed. “I wish you could see this Atem.” I said as I looked at the sandy desert under the pale moonlight. `It's so amazing.'
But the silent beauty turned to a horrifying nightmare within a matter of minutes. I saw men in black riding horses and carrying torches. “Oh my god!” I said as I recognized that crackling laugh. `Bakura!' No sooner that I thought of him, I saw him coming through the flames. `He's insane!' I thought as he summoned that Diabound monster to get him over the palace gates, while slaying the guards on the ground.
I ran to the door and told the guard what I saw.
“Stay here.” He said as he ran off.
`Stay here…' I thought as the words seem to hurt. I always remembered my friends saying that when I'm in trouble. Stay here, stay back, wait here, and don't move! The only time Atem said something like that, is when he's giving me a surprise gift. Without thinking, I ran, running back to the court, just in time to se what the Millennium Items could really do.
-Normal POV-
`The scales tilting to wildly! It can't weigh that man's evil!' A man named Kalim, who was a tall man with black hair, thought as he watched the Millennium Scales going crazy. A woman named Isis, who is a young woman whose hair is covered with some decorative hood, sensed the evil and thought. `The evil shadow in that person will bring disaster to this world…' A man named Mahado, who is a young man who had a head piece as well, felt the energy in his Millennium Ring almost bursting out. An elder man named Akhenaden used his Millennium Eye to look into Bakura's soul and thought. `I see a bottomless pit of shadow within his soul… A powerful hatred is hidden there!!'
Bakura stood there grinning like he knew he was going to be the victor of this.
“Priest Shada!!” Akhenaden said. “The shadows of that man's soul are deep. Be careful not to be drawn in by his evil!”
“Yes!” Shada, who is a young man with no hair but is wearing a hood as well, said as he lifted the Millennium Key, which looked like an ankh. “Power of the Millennium Key! Lead me into this sinner's soul!!” Not long has he looked into Bakura's soul that he had to get out.
“What's wrong, Shada?!” Akhenaden asked.
Shada was breathing deeply and had the look of fear. “That man's ka… is too great…” He said quietly as he added loudly. “That sealing stone is too small for it!”
“That can't be!” Akhenaden said.
Bakura quietly laughed, amused by the site.
“His ka is about to appear!!” Akhenaden said as the great monster appeared. “WHAT?!! I don't believe it!! How can such a demon dwell within a mere thief's soul?”
“This isn't a demon…” Bakura said. “This is a god… the great Diabound!”

Tout m'enchaine
Irresistiblement a toi, je le sens
Comme le jour revient après la nuit
Et le soleil toujours après la pluie
Comme un oiseau revient vers son nid
Qu' a mon amour, je vais aussi
Tout m'entraine
Irresistiblement vers toi, a chaque instant
Tout m'enchaine
Irresistiblement a toi, je le sens

Obstinement sans jamais disarmer
Par le Malheur on est souvent frappe

L'amour revient en grand vainqueur
