Mistress: Here we explain more about the mysteries of how Yami could just waltz back into school. Nothing else more. The next few chapter might be slow in coming but I shall try to get them up soon.
Chapter 5: Meeting
When the group had finished buying their lunches and walking to the table Yugi and Yami had already left. Yami had offered to show him around the school although he was pretty sure that deep within Yugi's subconscious he remembered the school. At the end of the day Yami and Yugi walked to the gate together.
“For a first day this went pretty well for me,” Yugi said with a grin.
“It's my first day back from being sick so I guess for me it was a pretty good first day too,” Yami replied.
“Hmm, seems we have more in common than just looks,” Yugi said as they walked through the gate. “Anyway thanx for showing me around. My mom picks me up around the corner so we'll have to split here. See you tomorrow!”
Yami waved and watched as Yugi walked towards the end of the street. He watched until he saw a dark blue van pull up next to the curb. With a happy grin Yami walked back home. He went to drop his stuff off in Yugi's room and noticed how messy and dusty it was. Why had he let things get this bad?
“We're here!” Ryou announced as he walked through the door.
Bakura headed towards the Shop side of the house and switched the closed sign to open and began to order the shelves again. Ryou meanwhile first walked up the stairs and stopped as he saw Yami.
“How did things get this messy?” Yami asked.
“Messy? Oh you mean Yugi's room, finally you see it as me and Bakura saw it. I'll clean up and you go help Bakura in the store,” Ryou said as he tugged on Yami's sleeve.
“Alright alright, I can see I'm not wanted,” Yami said with a small smile.
He walked down the stairs and into the shop side of the house. Yami smiled a little as he saw Bakura open the register and begin to order the desk.
“Hey,” he said catching Bakura's attention.
“Wow… I didn't think I'd ever see you out of your room let alone in the shop,” Bakura said with a grin.
“Well certain things have uhm, changed that,” Yami said as he walked closer, “anything I can do?”
“Yeah we have a new game and new cards in the back; I didn't have time to put it up yet,” Bakura said as he pulled out his bag with his homework.
Yami nodded and went into the back. He came back dragging a box.
“Say Bakura, the time I was gone, how come no one asked about it at school?” Yami asked as he began placing the new cards in the special section saved for it.
“Oh that, well, me and Ryou got you a fake doctors note saying you had some weird contagious disease,” Bakura explained as he flipped through his math book.
“And they bought it?” Yami asked stopping for a moment.
“Yep, besides you're talking to the King of Thieves right here and Ryou is pretty good at forgery, never knew,” Bakura said thinking back to it. “Anyway and we told them you could do all your work through that time.”
“But I didn't do any work,” Yami said confused.
Bakura sighed, “I think you lost a couple of thousand brain cells in that room. Why do you think we were so busy. Ryou cleaned, cooked, and did your homework. Well I helped with history and math but he had the rest.”
Yami's mouth formed into a small `o', “Sorry about that.”
“It's not me you should apologize to, Ryou's the one who went through all the trouble,” Bakura replied as he began to zip through the math problems.
At the end of the day Yugi's room had been totally cleaned, Yami had been fed, and the shop taken care of. As Ryou and Bakura walked out the door Yami thanked them again.
“No problem, just make sure to call if you need anything or if you can't find something,” Ryou said with a smile.
“Thanks but I think I'll be fine,” Yami said.
“This day couldn't have gone better!” Gabriel exclaimed as they made their way home.
The next morning Yami got dressed early and began to walk to school. He was slightly disappointed when he didn't see Yugi in the morning and worried that yesterday had been an illusion. When he finally met Yugi in class he felt a wave of relief pour through him.
“Heh sorry I couldn't meet you earlier. The teachers wanted to talk to me about my classes and asking me about my day and checking information,” Yugi said as he sat down with an apologetic smile.
Yami smiled back, “No problem.”
“Oh and today I won't be able to join you for lunch, I have to take a test to see if I really do know everything I need to know at this point,” Yugi explained.
“It's okay, you can meet my friends tomorrow then,” Yami said cheerfully.
“That would be nice,” Yugi said.
The rest of the day passed in a blur Yami gathered his things quickly and headed for the gate. He grinned and waved as he saw Yugi waiting for him. Yugi smiled and waved back. The two walked towards the game shop in deep conversation about duel monsters.
“What's your favorite card?” Yugi asked.
“Dark Magician,” Yami replied.
“Mine too,” Yugi said with a grin.
The two stopped as they reached the door. Yami unlocked it and moved aside to let Yugi in.
“Wow….but I can't help but feel a sense of dejavu… Have I been here before? Or seen it in a magazine?” Yugi asked as he looked around and began to walk towards the shop side of the place.
“Maybe in a magazine, we've gotten a few interviews,” Yami replied. He took Yugi's things and went to drop them off in Yugi's old room now Yami's for the time being.
“We're here!” Ryou exclaimed.
Downstairs Yugi walked back and saw Ryou and Bakura. Ryou turned and smiled.
“Hello Nakatsu,” he said as Bakura waved and began to walk towards the shop.
“Hey, I don't believe I know you,” Yugi said as he reached out his hand for Ryou to shake.
Ryou grasped it, “no, but my name is Ryou. We have three classes together. That other boy is Bakura. We're friends of Yami.”
Yugi grinned, “well Ryou it's a pleasure to meet you. Oh but you can call me Yugi. It's what Yami calls me and personally I like it much better than Nakatsu.”
Ryou nodded and excused himself. He headed towards the kitchen.
“Yes! This is perfect! I can see the relationship already beginning to bloom!”
`Yes, I am happy about that,' Ryou replied as he began to make something to eat.
Yami walked downstairs and met Yugi.
“I met two friends of yours,” Yugi said as he turned to Yami.
“Oh Ryou and Bakura? Yeah they've been helping me while I was sick, I was stuck in bed the entire time. They also help me with the store,” Yami explained.
“Ryou seems very nice and I don't know about the other boy,” Yugi said as he glanced over his shoulder, “never mind that, should we get started on the project?”
Yami nodded and the two of the disappeared up the stairs.
AUTHORS BLAH BLAH
Mistress: I hope this chapter is longer than some of my other ones. I think it is at least….ah well….what did you think? Oh and for those of you who are tired of Bakura and Ryou too bad, `cause they are important to the plot (besides who doesn't like those two adorable bisihes? )
