Chapter Four:
Ryou's POV
"Ryou I..." I cut him off. I was NOT going to face rejection today THANK-YOU very much.
"Bakura... I'm sorry you had to hear that.... I've... gotta go...." I grabbed my bag which was near the door and ran out. Times like these I'm glad I keep my bag near the door. What are the contents? Well I have two pairs of jeans and four shirts, my laptop, journal, special pen, three books, a small flashlight, an extra toothbrush, tooth paste and some snacks. Why? Ever since I got my Yami I always thought I might need to run-away for awhile or leave the house. Good thing I thought ahead ne? Sorta scary how I can keep all that crap in one bag...I jogged down the hill at a reasonable rate. I passed one, two, three blocks before going onto a street. I jogged past seven stop signs before I notice I was getting tired. I stoppped to catch my breath when I saw Yugi and Yami coming towards me. I quickly dashed down the alley to my right side.
As soon as I was sure they were gone, I jogged up a little ways further into the beach. Another reason I liked living in Domino. Only three miles to a beach. I slowed my pace as I went across the shore line. Soon I saw the little mountain of rocks coming up ahead. I climbed up a couple of feet and then hoped down from where I was. There I crawled through a little tunnel and came up from the other side. Finally. Secluded in my own little spot. I found this spot a couple of years back, about a month or so after I recieved the ring. It was when Bakura first decided to erm... teach me my first lesson.
The spot which I called 'Paradise' included a little ledge, where I usually sat to think. An incredible view of the outer side of the ocean, and pure white sand. I took off my shoes and socks and wiggled my toes in the sand, enjoying the tickling feeling it gave me. I picked up my discarded belongings and put them on the side of the ledge. Then I swung myself over and sat on the ledge. It looked like a mini size of that cliff on the Lion King. My feet dangling over the edge I grabbed my bag and pulled out my journal.
In it I taped the note of which I recieved on the inside. I re-read it again then sighed to myself. Who in the world would LIKE me? Much less LOVE me. I turned to a fresh page and pulled out my special pen. It was special to me because engraved on the side it said "Ryou Bakura" My father gave it to me shortly before he left on his expedition to Egypt. It was the last I saw of him. That was... hmmm... a year ago. Wow... life really does move on. While I thought about Bakura and me a scribbled down a quick little poem. It read:
Fallin down
I'm falling down
Can you reach me in time?
This endless pit
An eternity black
I stare down at it
Just one step for sure
It would all be over
So very soon
The dizziness of the height
Is making me swoon
Just one step
Is all that I need
But now I hear you
Calling out to me
"Wait don't jump!" You yell
I smile my smile the
little smile and turn away
I whisper
"Your much too late."
As I take my final step
I hear you scream
"But I love you!"
As I fall from that cliff
I say "Aishiteru"
Hehehe... who says I can't write poetry? Too bad... if that were truly to happen I would die. But the world would be a better place wouldn't it? I sighed again. You know I seriously think that I have a sighing problem. When I finished my poem I decided to write a quick entry about what happened.
Dear Journal,
Hi. Today I actually had the guts to run out on Bakura... I don't think he'll be looking for me anytime soon. I'm such an idiot! I vow to never talk to myself again! Wow... even in my writting I sound like a weakling. Nothing much happened today. Oh I saw Yami and Yugi! They were walking the opposite direction of the beach. Yami had his are draped over Yugi's shoulder, lazily but enough to tell you to back off from his hikari. I wish Bakura and I were like that. There's a hopeless dream right there. I wonder how many dreams I have that will actually work out? Oh well... shouldn't ponder on that right now. Well. Okay that's all I've got to write now. See ya.

No matter how old I get I will always make that a habit of mine. To always sign my name at the end. I closed the book, brushed off some sand, and put it back in my bag. I stared out at the ocean. I checked my watch and it was nearing 8:00. I sighed. Great how am I supposed to sleep? Oh well. At least I brang a jacket, not a bad substitute for a blanket actually. I covered myself and resumed my staring. As the sun began to dip below the horizon there was a brilliant flash of pink, purple and sky blue. Then just as suddenly as it appeared it dissapeared. It was a truly breath taking sight. I was glad I was able to watch it. Too bad Bakura wasn't there to share it with me. Grrr.... why can't I stop thinking about him? "AM I OBSSESED?!!" I wondered loudly. MAN! I just broke my vow. Oh well. Who's here to hear it anyway? I mean I am the only one who knows about it this spot right?
When the sky darkened enough, I was able to lay down and look at the stars. It was a cloudless night so I had a perfect view of the whole thing. I made pictures out of those stars. Not the kind that people tell you to look for. I made my own. I was able to find a shining smilie face. A broken heart. And a large star. It all looked so magnificent from where I was. Amazing really. How is it that the stars we look at right now, it took billions and billions of years just for that speck of light to reach our eyesight. I closed my eyes and let my thoughts drift. Before I knew it, I had slept and it was morning already. I got up and stretched. I covered my mouth as I let a wide yawn and checked the time. It was only 9:00. Good thing it was a Sunday. I still have the rest of the day to relax before I think of a way to get to school but have no one notice me.
My breakfast consisted of a bag of corn nuts and a box of Hi-C. When I finished eating my meager meal I got up and started to clean up a bit. I put on my jacket and made sure all my belongings were in my bag. I put the trash in a seperate pocket og the bag. I picked my bag and set it down near an edge, where it cannot be seen immediately. When it was secure I jumped off the ledge and walked along the shoreline. Small waves crashed upon each other as I watched in awe. Some water was able to splash onto my feet. Cold yet soothing. I stood in the same spot for awhile and just let the sound of the water soothe me. I moved back a little and then sat down on the sand. Letting the water come close but not quite to my feet. Okay. Sure the beach is relaxing but after awhile it could get boring.
I got up from my spot about half an hour later and went back to get a book out of my bag. I took out the same book as I've been reading, and flipped it open to the correct page. I dug out for my laptop and headphones. I sat the laptop next to me and plugged in the headphones. I turned it on and clicked on windows media player. Just as the list of songs began to play, I leaned against the wall of the cliff and started to read. When I was getting to the good part my Yami interupted. AGAIN! Does he plan this or something? I REALLY wanna read! Sheesh can't a guy get some privacy? ANYWHERE?

With that that I cut off the link and resumed reading. This time making sure I kept up the mental blocks. The next time I checked my watch it was already 2:00. Great the days just WASTING by and I can't do a thing about it. Well might as well think up of a plan on how to get to school un-noticed. I spent the better part of the next four hours on ways to get through school without anyone noticing me. Damn! I just hate it when this happens. Well at least I have enough money for a hotel! WHOO! POOL! Yep! Now just to make sure I still have the credit card dad gave me.... yep. Why did my dad give me a credit card? I dunno. He just said, "Here Ryou. Use this. Don't worry about the expenses." And I haven't even used it yet! Well out to find a reasonable hotel. Not far from school, nor from the beach. See. It is a good thing that kids these days only have to bring laptops to school. I got up, put my book away. Turned off the laptop and put the headphones away with it. I got up and made my way through the tunnel. I came out the other side, and made my way back to the crowded city of Domino.
I passed the school about a block ago when I found a great hotel! It was nice spacious AND cheap! Don't see many of those in Japan now do you? I payed the front desk for one week and took the elevator to my room. Level Six. There my room number was 6187. I jumped on the bed once I entered and relaxed. I turned on the T.V to see Inuyasha starting. I watched both episodes for an hour before I took a shower and headed downstairs for dinner. I ordered a Prime Rib with everything. Well.... I am hungry.... and I didn't even have lunch...... While I ate I looked around the hotel lobby. There was a fountain in the center of the lobby. To the right was the exit doors, to the left the elevators and straight ahead, the front desk, restrooms and information booth. I finished my food and payed the bill. It was now about 9:00. So I went upstairs and changed into some regular clothes they had for guests. Then I fell asleep.
When I woke up the next day it was 6:32 so I had to get dressed. I took a real quick shower and got dressed. I emptied my bag and just kept some snacks there for lunch, my laptop and one book. I heaved the bag over my shoulder and left the room. When I was about to leave the lobby I saw Malik and Marik pass by the hotel. If I came out five seconds before I would've gotten caught! Sheesh. Once I was sure they entered the school building, I ran all the way to school, up the stairs and down the halls to Science. Everything went well. Up until history. I was glad Bakura didn't notice me all thorugh the other periods. How did he not see me? Simple I guess.... I mean I did try and grab the seat farthest away from class.
History there was nowhere to hide. So I sat in front with a book covering my face. You knew that would work too? While everyone else retook the test. I just stared blankly at the words waiting and waiting for the bell to ring. I would like to go to the hotel soon. I mean I wanna watch TV! AND SWIM! So much better than trying to hide from your 'friends'. Whatever. Five minutes to the bell. I'll be outta here soon. Four minutes. Can't wait. Three minutes. Still have time. Two minutes. Just a little longer. One minute...have to wait.... DING! YESSSSSSSSSSS! I'm out of here! But just as I reached the door.....
"Hey Ryou! We haven't seen you all day!" Yugi.....
"Heh... well I've just been ya know...here and there...." I replied. I WAS SO CLOSE! SO VERY CLOSE!
"You wanna come over to the Game Shop? Bakura is actually gonna come too!" He said bouncing up and down.
"Erm... no thanks... I think I'll pass....maybe next time." I said.
"What? I was sure you could come... oh well see you tomorrow then!" He waved and ran away.
Finally. Time to myself! I walked over to my locker to get out the books we need for our history project when I saw an envelope sticking out of one of the three holes......
AA12: I am done! FINALLY!!!
Ryou: Wow....
Bakura: I didn't say hardly anything in this!
AA12: Yep.... okay another VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE! Got that people? Okay. Should I A) Start the Dance scene soon? or B) Wait awhile. and for the other VOTE should I A) Have Bakura find where Ryou is. or B) Let Ryou stay by himself. WE NEED YOUR VOTE!
