Yugi was screaming with joy on the inside when the plane finally landed. He stood up and stretched his legs, which had been cramped up for half a day from sitting.
/We’re finally here Yami. Isn’t this great?/
//...Yeah. I guess it is.//
Yugi walked down the isle, nearly crushed by the others who seemed as desperate to get off the plane as he was. Inside the terminal, people were running to get out and there was more room to move. Yugi didn’t see Kaiba, so he assumed he was already out.
He came out of the terminal and looked around until his eyes set upon Christina. Her medium length blonde hair was pulled back tight and a duel disk was strapped to her arm. He smiled upon seeing this.
/She never said she was a duelist./
//Perhaps we should show her how we duel in Tokyo.//
/Good idea./
As he got closer to her and her mother, he noticed that she wasn’t as pretty as her picture was. Then again, she was wearing make up and a bunch of other products, so maybe that was why.
Christina was really excited for the longest time when she got Yugi’s letter. She couldn’t wait for today to finally come and now he was standing right in front of her.
[I didn’t realize he’d be so hot!]
“Hey Yugi. Have a nice flight?”
“Hey and no. I don’t think I’ll ever fly again. Number one it took forever and number 2, turbulence is freaky.”
She laughed.
“Come on, lets go get you’re stuff,” her mother said.
“Oh yeah.”
They went down to luggage claim and got all of Yugi’s stuff. There was still no sign of Kaiba nor Mokuba.
//Well, it’s not like they’re your friends or anything aibou.//
/I know, but its weird. I saw them get on the plane./
//You’ll see them again in Tokyo. Don’t worry about it.//
/I guess you’re right./
After they got Yugi’s stuff into the car, Christina’s mom took them to a nice resturaunt for dinner. The time change was incredible to Yugi. It was only about 3:00 back home, but here it was nearly 8:30 yesterday! Or maybe it was tomorrow... he wasn’t quite sure.
While Yugi was enjoying his dinner, Yami was trying to figure out a way to be corporeal in Yugi’s plane so that he could be with him without using his body. It would make things so much easier. If only he could remember the spell. It was very complicated shadow magic, but he knew it at one point.
When they got to the house, Christina helped Yugi get unpacked and settled into his room.
“You’re going to love it here Yugi. Mom is going to take us to all sorts of places so you can see everything!”
“That’s really cool.”
“Tomorrow we’re going to let you get used to the time change and get used to our everyday culture and stuff, so we wont be going anywhere.”
“Ok then.”
“Well, I’m sure you’re tired, so I’m going to let you get some sleep. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
She left the room.
/Man, she really talks a lot./
//I bet she likes you.//
/What?/
//I’m teasing.//
/Ok. Do you want me to let you out now?/
//Actually, I’d like to stay in here for the night. I’ll be out later.//
/Oh... ok./
Yugi got into his nightclothes and laid in his bed. He really wanted Yami with him right now. All day he wanted Yami and he didn’t even want out of the millennium puzzle tonight. He closed off their mind link.
/Why am I so upset for? It’s not like I’m in love with Yami or anything.../
While Yugi drifted off to sleep, Christina was in her room talking on the phone.
“Oh my god, Del, he is so cute. I mean... I knew he’d be better looking than most, but...... I do not talk about guys all the time!...... Screw you.... No seriously. Yeah you can come over tomorrow..... If we were going anywhere, would I have said you could?...... Just because he’s the best dualist in Tokyo doesn’t mean you gotta dual him..... Whatever. I gotta go. It’s late...... shut up.”
She hung up the phone and laid in bed. Slowly, she drifted to sleep with a smile on her face.

Later in the night, Yugi was plagued by a strange dream, causing him to turn and toss. Yami could feel something was wrong. He needed to get out and see what it was. Something was horribly wrong with his hikari.
/Christina, Yami and Yugi were sitting around in a meadow with the sun shining down on them.
“I’m going to go get a drink,” he told them.
He got up and went to a table to get some punch and when he turned around, he dropped it. What he saw was the worst thing that could ever have happened: Christina and Yami were in a death battle.
They were tearing at each other’s skin, throwing punches, biting, kicking, screaming... he wouldn’t be surprised if a growl had escaped their throats. He tried to run to them, but he wasn’t moving fast enough. He tried to yell, but they couldn’t hear him. He felt helpless.
She pinned Yami to the ground and had a firm grip on his neck.
“NO! YAMI! STOP! YAMI! HELP! YOUR HURTING HIM! YAMI!”/
“No... Yami!”
“Yugi. Wake up aibou.”
Yugi’s eyes blinked open, and he saw Yami sitting on the bed staring at him with concern. Relief spread through him like poison. Tears mixed with his cold sweat down his cheeks.
“Yami! You’re ok.”
He threw his arms around Yami, needing to be touching him to know it was really all a dream. He squeezed him tighter when he felt his body. Yami in turn closed his arms around his hikari.
“Ssh. I’m alright Yugi. It was just a dream aibou.”
“It was so real... she was killing you!”
“It’s ok. No one is going to hurt me or you or anyone else, I swear.”
Yugi’s head laid against Yami’s chest. Yami ran his hand over his hair and gave him a soft kiss on the top of his head,
Something suddenly came clear to Yugi. He was hugging Yami! He was touching him! They were still on the physical plane and he was able to feel his Yami without going through him. He lifted his head up and looked into Yami’s eyes.
“Yami... how-”
“A spell aibou,” he cut him off.
“I like it... please don’t change back....”
“I won’t. Get back to sleep Yugi.”
“Will you stay with me?”
“Yes. I will.”
Yugi made room for Yami in the bed. He climbed under the covers and Yugi inched closer and closer until he came into contact with him. He nestled his head in the base of his neck in the curve of his collar bone. Yami put an arm around Yugi and pulled him even closer.
Everything felt so right to Yugi at this moment. All the horrible things he’d just seen in that dream had lifted from his mind. As long as he was in Yami’s arms, nothing could hurt him. He drifted to sleep contently in his embrace.
Yami thanked Ra to be this close to Yugi at the moment he needed him most. If only it were because he loved him back as he did. If Yugi could just love him this moment, that’s the only thing that could make it more perfect. Before he knew it, he too had drifted to sleep.
