Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction / Fan Fiction ❯ A Gift ❯ Arriving. ( Chapter 1 )
A/N: HELLO?! CAN YOU HEAR ME?! Good. My name is Lia. This story was written as a sort of present to my best friend and sister. I don't know if she'll like it, or if you will for that matter. There is some profanity, and a bit of blood and stuff, but it is kind of funny. Here I release my psychotic self! Muahahahaha! (I don't normally write like this, forgive me!) P.S.- These are mostly OC characters that have no problems like this at all. I have no problems either. Really!
Disclaimer: Frodo from LOTR does not belong to me, but this boy does. Complicated story. You do not want to hear it. Um…Hiei doesn't either. Larien sorta' does, but that's just creepy. I like to ramble. Uh…let's see. Okay, any name you recognize from a show or something does not belong to me unless I say so. Okay?
***********~The Bad Beginning. ~*************
Hiei walked down the long hall of the castle. The stones were black, and eerie lights shone from them. Why had he come here? He had been asking for trouble the moment he'd opened that damned envelope inviting him to visit the Castle Utulië (Darkness), and for even more when he had actually gone. Stupid! Then that huge iron door had opened in the front, exposing a slightly deranged looking girl with dark brown eyes and black hair. She had gazed at him for a moment, then pulled the door open and disappeared. So, he had been foolish enough to walk into the dumb castle, and the door had slammed shut, and here he was.
He couldn't even see his own hands in the dark, so it was no surprise when he walked straight into a wall. But it was a surprise that the wall talked.
"Oh! I'm sorry! Did I hurt you?"
Hiei shook his head, more to clear his head than to accept the apology, and looked up to find himself face to nose with a huge golden dragon. Jumping to his feet, he whipped his katana out, leaving a narrow gash across the dragon's nose.
The dragon looked at him in shock, then two large tears formed in the gold eyes.
"Waaaah! Joannnnie!" it shrieked, turning and running through a real wall.
Hiei was not sure whether to laugh or mourn the loss of a good fight. But all the same, he put his sword away and continued walking, hoping to find some way out of here before he walked into something else.
`Hn. There must be some way out of this place,' he thought as he stared at the black stones.
"Joannnie!!" The dragon's wail came echoing back through the hall, nearly shattering the little youkai's eardrums. He covered his ears for a moment until the dragon's yammering had faded into the distance, than whirled around at a touch on his shoulder.
"Not very quiet anymore, is he?"
Hiei stared at the girl in front of him, taking in the red hair, the bright purple eyes, and the feeling of raw power that was emanating from her. She was at least a foot taller than he, perhaps more, and she was giving him a look he did not quite enjoy.
"I don't really see how this is going to work out, you being as you are." She gave him a look, seeming surprised at the distance she had to look down. "But I guess that's up to her now."
"Up to who?"
"Larien. You'll meet her later."
"And what, may I ask, will be `working out?'"
"This and that." The girl looked over his head. "I'll be seeing you later, then."
"I don't think so, you-" At that moment, something cracked down on his head, sending him into a deeper darkness than before.
***********~Later~*************
"Time to wake up, sleepyhead!"
A `cheerful' voice called him back out of the darkness, accompanied by the splash of icy water on his face. He tried to jerk away, but something kept him down, making him sputter and cough on the water that had gotten in his mouth.
"Oh. Sorry." The voice that said this held nothing but malice, and none of which indicated real sorrow. When Hiei had opened his eyes, which were also full of water, I might add, he recognized the girl from the door. Only now, she looked even more wild, and there were fangs glittering in her mouth as she smiled down at him, though that was not an unusual sight where he was from.
"Oh, I assure you that this is a very different thing than what you're used to, little boy."
Hiei growled at that. "'Little?' I'll show you little!"
He strained at the chains that were looped around his arms, and then tried to melt them. But nothing happened, and the crazy girl just grinned at him.
"Not what you expected, I see. Well, this is a special kind of metal. It binds your powers, no matter how great or wonderful they may be."
As usual, Hiei `hn'ed, and proceeded to try everything he had against the bonds. But nothing worked, and by the time he had looked up again to yell at her to let him go, she was gone.
"Don't worry. It's not that bad down here."
Hiei looked around for the source of the new voice, then found a little black cat sitting on the floor beside the stone table he was chained down on. "You let me out of these, you little baka neko!"
The cat calmly washed its paw. "If you expect to get anywhere with that kind of mouth, you can forget it."
When Hiei only growled, the cat seemed to shrug.
"Fine then. Have it your way."
Before the cat could walk away, Hiei grated out a few words. "What do you want me to say?"
"'Please' would be nice."
"Fine. Please."
The cat looked suspiciously at him. "What will happen to me if I let you go?"
"Nothing." However, Hiei's voice was deadly calm, and the cat was not as foolish as some cats may be.
"I don't think so."
A minute later, Hiei was alone again.
But he was not alone for long.
***********~Exit dungeon thingie~*************
The red haired girl, a.k.a. Lia, walked into her room. A girl with silvery white hair sat on the bed, looking very excited.
"Lia, what did you get me?!" she asked, bouncing up and down.
"You'll see soon enough."
"But Lia-!"
"Larien, calm down. You'll get your present soon, and you'll love it."
"You're mean."
"I know."
She was worried about what would happen if that demon got loose and found out who she really was. She had seen that boy fight, and even half-immortality might not cover being ripped to shreds. Or blown up. Or burned away…
Lia chased the thoughts from her mind, shivering. She would be able to handle anything that came along.
"Are you alright?" Larien was looking at her with a mixture of confusion and worry on her face.
"I'm fine, thelei." Lia sat next to her on the bed. But some of you won't be very soon..
***********~End~*************
A/N: thelei: Sindarin for sister. Thanks for reading!
Mysterious voice out of nowhere (MVOON): When am I going to be introduced into this foolish tale?
Lia (which, if you noticed, is my name): Shut up, you ninny!
MVOON: What?! How dare you!
*Scene closes out, leaving Lia and the MVOON fighting. * Though exactly how a person could fight a voice is beyond me.
