Liona rubbed her forehead as she took a sip of he tea.
"The world is a happy flower, the world is a happy flower..." she began to chant , trying to calm her nerves.
"Okay, so you're saying that if the pendant is removed for more than three days, the curse loses it's effect?" Yusuke said. Mitsune nodded, sweatdropping as Liona continued to chant.
"sounds like a simple enough thing, right? But if removed, all of those who are cursed and have already lived their human lifetime will die. That's about half of my family. There is another cure for the curse, but that's not really an option."
"You know, somehow this sounds like a story my mother told me when I was little." Kurama said looking at Mitsune. Mitsune blinked.
"Well, unless you're real name's Shuichi Minamino I don't know how that's possible." Kurama looked at her confused.
"What do you mean?" Mitsune sighed.
"We have a cousin named Shuichi Minamino. We haven't seen him since he was five, because his mother discovered that he was the next person to get the curse. It's not like it's changed anything, in about three weeks the curse will take effect." She looked overat Kurama, who's face was suddenly pale. He stood up and headed to the door.
"I'll be right back." Kuwabara looked at them stupidly.
"Kurama's human name is Shuichi." he said. Liona smiled and clapped her hands together.
"Well, he's among good company then! There's only a few rats and snakes in our family, and most of them live in Europe, so he won't have to worry about them. I wonder what animal he is?" One of Mitsune's ears twitched, and she grimaced.
"I don't think he's taking the news to well." she said. Liona frowned and stood up.
"I'll go check on him. Maybe I can convince him it's not that bad." She walked out of the room.
"Not that bad?! Having that curse must be hard on you guys. You can't even show someone you care by hugging them!" Kuwabara exclaimed. Mitsune took a sip of her tea.
"Actually, there's lots of things you can do to show affection that doesn't involve hugging." Yusuke grinned.
"I guess then it's not so bad." Mitsune glared at him.
"It is when you have to constantly move so people don't notice you don't age. Or being outcasted just because you turn into a certain animal." She put her glass down, then ran upstairs. Tohru watched the girl, feeling bad for her and also realizing how much like Kyo she was.
'I hope I can become friends with her.' she thought. Liona walked back in, Kurama walking back in.
"What's her problem?" Yusuke asked. Liona sighed and shook her head.
"Just that half the family has treated her like a pile of shit. Since she turns into a fox, most of the older members of the family hate her, because the person who stole the pendant, which originally belong to a witch, and got the curse put on us was a fox. Her parents even shipped her off to relatives,
who kept sent her away once they found out what she was. She had to deal with that since her fouteenth birthday, that's over 300 years. She had been living in the woods by herself for about a hundred years before she finally came to live with me." Liona shook her head and sighed.
"Everyone wonders why I put up with her. I wonder why she puts up with them. Everyone in our family is trained in fighting, wether it be hand to hand or with a weapon. But Mitsune could easily kill them all if she wanted. I've tried talking to her, but she just shuts me out. That only person she's really been able to talk to was Susanay and
Otto, two of our cousins. But now Susanza hates her and Micheal is dead." Tohru turned to Kyo.
"Maybe you could try talking to her. You two seem to have a lot in common." Kyo shrugged and walked upstairs. Liona turned and grinned at Shigure, Yusuke and Hiei.
"So are any of you single?"

Mitsune sat on her bed, keyboard on her lap and a pad of paper and a pencil next her. She sat playing the notes she had written earlier on the paper, and began to sing the lyrics she had written to go with the music.
"You think you know me,
see what I am inside.
But all you see is an empty shell.
I wander aimlessly,
trying to find the soul that left me long ago." The music was smooth and slow, the melody had a sad mysterious feel to it. As she continued to sing, she failed to notice Kyo walk in.
"Wake me from my nightmare,
pull me from my awful dream.
Don't let me fall into the darkness,
Pull me into the light.
I sit here crying,
slowly dying inside.
I wish this pain would go away.
Don't let me stay here,
Don't let me fall
into this everlasting night.
Wake me from my nightmare,
Pull me from my awful dream.
Don't let me fall into the darkness,
Pull me into the light.
Please don't leave me here,
Don't let me stay living life this way.
Pull me into the light."
Mitsune froze when she heard clapping. She turned and looked wide-eyed at Kyo, who was leaning in the doorway.
"What are you doing in my room?!"she hissed. Kyo shrugged.
"tohru thought I should talk to you." he said, shaking his head and muttering something about not wanting to talk to a stupid kitsune. Mitsune glared at him when she heard this,
and guilt flooded into Kyo when he saw the hurt and sadness that was almost completely hidden, only given away by her eyes.
Wait, why should I feel guilty?! he screamed mentally. because you know how she feels... a voice told him. He sighed.
"So you're an outcast, huh?" he said as he sat beside her. Bad approach, he thought as she hissed and scooted away from him, looking much like a feral dog. Or a feral fox, he added mentally.
"I uh, I'm an outcast in my family because I'm a cat." he said, trying to get her to stop growling. He noticed that all of her muscles were tense. He also noticed that somehow within two minutes she had been alone she had managed to change into a pair of black pants and a green button up shirt that was left open over a tight white tube top. She looked at him disinterested, but he could see the faint surprise in her eyes.
"In my family it's a good thing if your a cat. Cats are graceful and smart. But of course, if your family goes by the Chinese Zodiac, I can see why it's a problem for you." she sighed.
"If only people could except others for who they are, not what they are." she said, propping her head in her hands as she leaned forward to stare at the floor. Kyo looked her over, and found himself lingering on her face. His eyes widened as he noticed her hair turning silver.
"What's up with your hair?!" he shouted suddenly. Mitsune looked up him, blinking.
" Your hair is turning silver!" mitsune blinked, then went crosseyed as she tried to look at the strand of hair that fell over her nose.
"That hasn't happened in a while." she said nonchalantly. She looked over at Kyo who was looking thoroughly confused.
"A lot of the people in our family have hair that changes color at any given moment. Mine tends to go from silver to red when I'm angry or in a bad mood. Or when I'm fighting or tense When I'm calm and don't feel like hurting anyone it's silver. It's kinda weird." she said, grinning at him.
Kyo stared at her blankly. Just a second ago she seemed she would kill with just the slightest wrong movement, now she was grinning.
"Well, are you gonna talk or what?" he looked over at her, and saw her scowl was back, and her hair was slowly fading back to red.
"Yeah, yeah. So you like to fight huh?"he said. Mitsune grinned, and here hair stayed a mix of red and silver.
"i started training when I was little, after a while it just became a hobby. And-"Mitsune froze, and began to sniff the air. She groaned.
"No, not him. Anyone but him!" she mutterd, rubbing her head.
"Mit-chan! Where are you?!" a man shouted with a heavy French accent. There was loud footsteps, then the door flew open. A tall young man stood grinning broadly. He had shoulder length silver hair and bright green eyes. He wore a red tunic over white pants and a white shirt.
"There you are Mit-chan!"he said happily. Mitsune groaned and began to try to soffacate herself with a pillow.
"What the hell are you doing here Frenchie?" was her muffled statement.
"Surely you're happy to see you're dear older brother!" he said pouting. Kyo looked between the two and blinked.
"Kyo, go get Tohru so she can hug him and I'll be able to throw this little rat all the way back to France." Mitsune muttered as she removed the pillow.
"The world is a happy flower, the world is a happy flower..." she began to chant , trying to calm her nerves.
