Kagome walked down the street towards her new school. She was excided and a little nervous. Most of all she was relived to be getting away from her friends and more importantly Hojo. Don't get me wrong she loved her friends, but they were just so smothering, exhausting and well annoying. Sighing Kagome readjusted her backpack and quickened her pace.

I didn't take her long to arrive at school it was only four or five blocks from the shrine. She walked up the steps to the main gate and noticed the school sign. ` Diablo High School, Learning is Life.' ` What a crock.' She thought. Walking passed the front gate she stepped into the school yard it was full of students, most were in their own little groups taking about this and that. ` I guess some things don't change.' Kagome thought to herself as she looked around.

Making her way threw the mobs of students she entered the halls and started her search for the principal's office. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and ran right into a very solid chest. The force of the impact scent her hurling to the ground where she landed on her back with a quiet thump.

" I'm so sorry, I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Kagome said while sitting up and dusting off her pants. What or should I say who she ran into leaned over to offer her a hand up. " It's fine don't worry about it." Somewhat startled by the masculine voice Kagome finally looked up to get a good look at just who she had run into.

He was wearing a boy's school uniform and had his backpack handing off one shoulder. He had slicked back black hair and large brown eyes. All in all Kagome thought he wasn't bad looking. Gripping his hand she allowed him to pull her to her feet. " Thanks" " No Problem." " I haven't seen you around before. You new?" The boy asked. " Ya it's my first day and I'm a little lost. Can you show me where the principals office is?" " Sure follow me and by the way the names Yusuke. What's yours?" " I'm Kagome ice to meet you."

The two fell into a comfortable silence as Yusuke led Kagome to the principal's office. " Well here we are." Yusuke said a few minutes later. " Thanks." " Sure well see you later I have to get to class." Yusuke said in a rush after a quick glance at the hall clock. He was gone before Kagome had a chance to reply. Shacking her head she opened the door to the principals office and stepped inside.

It was like every other school office on the face of the planet white with gray carpet and bland. Walking up to the secretaries desk Kagome decided she didn't want to be here anymore than absolutely necessary. " I'm a new student and I'm here to get my schedule." Kagome told the secretary. " Name." Was her sharp if not unfriendly reply. " Higurashi, Kagome." With out another word the secretary handed Kagome her schedule and went back to work. ` So much for a friendly atmosphere.' Kagome thought as she walked out of the office in search of her first class. ` At least I have Sesshomaru to talk to.'

Dun, Dun, Dun well that's the end of another chapter. I'm sorry to leave you hanging, wondering what Kagome meant about Sesshomaru, but I promise to let you know in the next chapter.
