Chapter 12: Valentine's Ball....
It had been a couple of months since the spirit detectives and the Hakai have seen
eachother. It was now February 14. Kagome sighed as she patroled her lands. Nothing
different. There was one thing that Inutashio-sama wanted them to attend to. A ball in
the central lands held on ever 'Valentines Day' for the lord's/ladies/princes/ and
princess' to choose a mate.
~~~Kagome's Pov
Damn that stupid ball. I dont understand why they always force me to go when they
know i wont choose a mate!!! You would have thought that they would have given up by now.
Baka's. I suddenly felt a disturbance in my lands i dashed off with Kuronue. He decided
to accompany me in case i bored myself to death or something.
When we got there i was very amused at the scene that played out in front of me. It
was the spirit detectives. It seems they've met my Kitsune and Ryu warriors. They only had
there animal forms from being cursed so they guard my barrier, i feed them, house them and
saved them when they were first cursed.
" Ryu, Rya, Rue, Rei, Riko (The Dragons), Kia, Kya, Kyo, Kitto, Kino (Kitsune)Enough." I
stated. They all came to stand by me.
"What is the meaning of you intruding in my lands?" I asked the slightly battered group.
*Pant* *Whimper*
When i heard the whimper i looked down at Kyo my favorite fox. I growled a question
at him and when he growled the answer back i glared at the spirit detectives namely the
one called Kurama. I kneeled down next to the white fox with 6 tails and healed the gash
on its legs and back. She was about to attack them but Kuronue stopped me.
" Why do you always protect them?" I asked.

" Come on...Lets go back. We have to get ready for the ball." Kuronue replied ignoring
the question.
Kagome's face darkened and a scowl formed on her beautiful face.
" You just had to remind me didnt you?" Kagome asked.
"Yes." Kuronue.
Kagome growled at him playfully before remembering there guests...Kagome barked out
orders to the foxes and the dashed off. Kagome looked at the dragons on her left and her
eyes glowed sending them a telepathic message. Kagome then looked at the dragons on her
right and sent them the message the same way. They left her and Kuronue and Kagome in
the clearing alone with the SD's.
She snarled at them.
"Get. Out. Of. My. Lands. " Each word punctuated with the rising of wind and power from
her. The spirit detectives all took a step back from her in shock. Kagome smirked evilly.
But Kuronue placed a hand on her shoulder bringing her back to the time. Kagome sighed
softly turned around and walked about five feet away from kuronue and a pure white cloud
formed underneath her. She glanced back.
" Are you coming Kuronue?" Kagome asked.
Kuronue jumped onto the cloud and wrapped his arms around her waist and buried
his head in her neck making small sounds of apology. Kagome noded and the cloud rose and
was off.
" Wow..." Yusuke said in awe.
" She controls those Dragons and foxes...how?" Touya asked slightly confused.
" She is a lot more powerful then she leads on others to belive." The silent Karasu
replied.
"What ball were they talking about?" Kurama asked.
" The Valentine's ball..Where the royal youkai go to choose a mate." Hiei said.
"Oh."
"Isnt that the place that Koenma's going to?" Yusuke asked.
" Yes...I belive so." Kurama replied.
" I think that we should tag along to see if Kagome will choose a mate.." Yusuke said
evilly. Probably thinking of ways to torture her or something.
Kagome and Kuronue were at the palace by now. The others were already there
preping for the ball. Kagome lacked the enthusiasm as some of her group. Like Bankotsu
and Hiten were excited about the ball..'Probably just need a good F*ck. 'Kagome thought.
Kagome always brings the other's with her for her 'protection' from lusty males and
because they wanna come. Kagome was this years entertainer. She would be singing and
dancing. With the Hakai of course. They had to practice a routine. ' As long as Shido
dosent do the entertainment.' Kagome thought.Shido was a lusty male wolf from the south
whom the North and west did not get along with.He provided...Strippers...Whores...
Concubines last year. Kagome shuddered.
" What's wrong Kagome?" Juuromaru asked.
" Just remembering the entertainment Last year." Kagome said.
This small statement caused everyone who was there last year that heard it shudder
in disgust.Kagome and the others quickly dressed into formal Kimono's. Of course she
wouldnt be wearing the kimono when she performed but neither would the others. Half of
the Hakai mounted the dragons that normally guarded her borders and the other half the
foxes that normally guarded the borders. Kagome although mounted a beautiful white fox
with pure white wings. This was a cross between a kitsune youkai and a falcon. It only
had one form and his name was ShiroShi or WhiteDeath. That was Kagome's old nickname.
They dashed off in the late afternoon. Kagome's beautiful white kimono glittering
in the sun.They arrived in the Central lands in 2 hours. Kagome and the others jumped off
there animals in synchronized grace. They were the representatives from the West and North
Whenever the Hakai arrived everyone would be in awe. Kagome's long blue hair flowing
freely in the wind with the others following behind her.
The other families had already arrived. They were given there rooms and were to be
called down when the ball started. Kagome and the others knew that there was a good chance
that the spirit detectives would be there with Koenma the prince of Rekai.
~~~2 hours later.
Kagome and the others were already ready to perform. There was a stage set up in the
head of the room and the royal table would be put on the left side. The dancing would be
in the middle and there were tables on the right side for the guests. The ball room was
huge. But not as big as Kagome's or Sesshoumaru's.
The guys were all dressed the same. They had black or white hakama's and a black or
white shirt depending on what color pants. If they had black pants they had a white shirt
if they had white pants then they had black shirts. Kagome was wearing a longsleeve tight
shirt that showed her middrif and was blue.Her Hakama's were white. They were all barefoot
They all had there long hair in a ponytailor a braid.
When They were announced they stepped out and scanned the room and made there way to
the stage.They were called last for a reason. They immediately spotted the Spirit
Detective with Botan, Koenma and King Enma. Kagome grabbed the mic. The volume level was
low but loud enough so everyone in the room could hear.
" Okay everyone does anyone have any request?" Kagome asked.
" Dangerously In Love!!!" Came a shout from the back. Kagome noded and the music started.
Since the guys werent needed in this song they stood off to the side but Sesshoumaru
took his place at the royal table. Kagome started to sing the song with her mask still in
place. Her voice flowing out hypnotizing and mesmerizing the crowd who started to dance.

There was a lot of applause amongst the crowd. They loved Kagome's voice. Another
person suggested the next song called Brown Eyes. The spirit detectives who heard her
voice before couldnt help but love it still like before in Ningenkai. She sang a few more slow
songs throughout the night and did a few fast ones in which the rest of the hakai danced with
her. Breakdancing and choreographicall type dancing.
After Kagome and the others did there performance they had some other people
go up to entertain the guests. Kagome and the others made there way to the royal table
she noded to them in greeting and took a seat.

By the end of the night Kagome had danced with each of her friends at least twice.
She reluctantly danced with a few of the spirit detectives and Koenma. Kagome and the
others were exhausted by the time it was over, not only from performing and dancing
but running and dodging there 'fans'.
" Happy Valentines day." Kagome mutterted to herself as she fell asleep. The other's
having already slept. Unconsiously snuggling between Sesshoumaru and Juuromaru
who were with her sharing a room.
