High above the lands an odd figure could be seen flying. If you would take a closer look at it you would see a blue haired young woman with eyes like amethysts. She wore a traditional pink kimono with a white sash. She was sitting on an oar. She was muttering something about Koenma being a stupid donkey because he sent her into the past to ferry souls over the border. "Why had did they not notice this when they were living in this era?" she asked herself and looked down into her little note book. Her boss had totally missed the fact that it existed a woman in this era that ate the souls from young women that had died. These souls never could be ferried to the Reikai, the spirit world. Now she had to gone through a complicated ritual that sent her into the past. "I will get him for this; he owes me four months of vacation after this." She looked around and saw a white and red clothed miko with long snake like youkais circling around her. "That must be her." She descended down but held back a bit when she saw the soul collecting youkais grab a small girl and her friend… "The girl has a fox youkai as a friend?? How cute…" Botan would have smiled if the children had not screamed for help. "Evil lady.."

She steered her oar down towards the scene and stepped off right behind the miko. She could feel the disturbance all the souls inside the woman created and she had to shiver. This was disgusting. She used her oar and tapped the shoulder of the miko. The miko turned around to see who ever it was who dared disturbed her when she was going to get her revenge on the hanyou that killed her once.

- Hey lady, let go of the children, said Botan with firm voice.

- Who are you? asked the miko.

- I am here to guide the souls inside your body where they truly belong, said Botan.

- Hmpf, why should I let you do that? It would kill me a second time if I gave them up.

- I see, you have been resurrected and need souls to keep on living.

- Yes.

- To bad, you will just have to wait until you are reborn again, that is how things work lady. And let go of the children, I don't want to have to tell you again.

- Like a girl like you could do anything about it, snorted the snotty miko and turned around to grab the young girl that her pet youkai had brought her, she took the fox in his tail and held him up.

Botan's eyes sparkled and she raised her oar and smacked the ass of the undead miko.

- Take that miss baboon face!! she yelled angrily

- That was a mistake, said the spanked miko and let the children be carried away again.

- Turn around and fight me then!

- As you wish ferry girl, that is what you are… a ferry girl?

- Yes, and I am the last thing you ever will see!

The miko made a snort and took her bow and pulled out an arrow from her queer. But Botan was a step faster than the miko and smacked her right over her face, making her drop the bow and arrow. The miko stumbled backwards as Botan moved in for another attack. Botan had no idea from where she got the courage to engage this battle, but she was so angry. She could feel the anticipation flowing from the undead miko's trapped souls and she knew they wanted to be free. In the corner of her eye she saw to blurry figures appear on the scene and she heard someone call out the name Kikyo right before she used the end of her oar and stab the undead miko in the chest. The oar crushed through the layers of cloths and into the place where the heart should be.

A crumbling sound echoed through over the field and the undead miko was turned into a pile of clothes and pottery. Botan shrieked in terror, that was not what she had expected. Souls of the dead women flowed over the pile and then around Botan. She could feel their gratitude and relief and she smiled against them. She told them to wait until she had taken care of the soul collecting demons that had travelled with the miko, but she saw them being ripped apart by two other demons. She saw the children cling to the two silver haired demons… "Are they brothers?" she asked silently and walked over to them.

- Are the children unharmed? she asked them.

- Yes, thank you missy, said the red clothed demon and cradled the fox in his arms, hugging him tight.

- My name is Botan, I am a ferry girl from the Reikai.

- The spirit realm? Said the other one.

- Yes, I was assigned to take care of this monstrous woman. As you can see, she had trapped a lot of souls, said Botan and pointed towards the glowing mass of souls.

- Her name was Kikyo.

- Was she a friend of yours? asked Botan.

- It was a long time ago, I am glad that she finally have been put back to peace again.

- Who are you?

- My name is Inuyasha and this is my brother Sesshoumaru.

- Rin's name is Rin, said the girl in Sesshoumaru's arm but wiggled her way down and walked over to Botan.

- Nice meeting you Rin, said Botan. A second later she oofed when the girl hugged her tight. The fox in Inuyasha's arms jumped down and did the same.

- I am Shippou, thank you for saving us!

- Ohh, it's quite alright, blushed Botan, but hugged the children back.

- Will you come with us? asked Shippou.

- I am sorry, but I need to guide the souls over the river Styx to the spirit realm, said Botan and her heart ached when she saw the disappointed looks the children gave her. But she also got an idea, her boss owed her for travelling to the past, perhaps she could spend her vacation here? - But if you want to I can come back here and we can talk some more and spend some time together, would you like that?

- YAY!!Yes, come back Botan-sama, shouted Rin and Shippou with one mouth.

- It is a deal then, wait for me here. I will be back sooner than you think.

Botan rose to her feet and settled down on her floating oar. She smiled gently towards the demons and bowed her head.

- I guess I will be seeing you as well?

But before Inuyasha or Sesshoumaru could say a word she was gone. They just stood there not knowing what to say or do. The children began dancing around, singing a song about the lady who had saved them from evil.
